The soccer star’s son Cruz also has “Posh” ink in a sweet nod to his mom

David Beckham is honoring his wife Victoria Beckham with some new ink.

 

“I’ve just had ‘Posh’ done … any of the tattoos I’ve got are of the family,” he told The Sun in a story published Friday. A recent close-up photo of the soccer star’s hand revealed the word “Posh” written in cursive on the lower part of his middle finger, right next to the finger on which he wears a gold wedding band.

The new tattoo is of course a nod to Victoria’s pop star past as Posh Spice of the girl band Spice Girls. David may have been inspired by his son Cruz, who got his own “Posh” tattoo on his arm in February to honor his mom, 49. On Sept. 3, the tattoo artist Certified Letter Boy shared black-and-white photos on his Instagram showing the 18-year-old’s forearm with the word “Posh” written in cursive.

David, 48, already has a “Victoria” tattoo on his arm as a tribute to his wife, plus the names of the four children he and the fashion designer share: Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz and Harper, 12.

David has numerous tattoos on his chest, arms and fingers which are visible in the upcoming ad for his new fragrance where he is shown shirtless. On Thursday, the Inter Miami co-owner shared a behind-the-scenes clip on social media of the making of the commercial. “Behind the scenes with @cotyinc…Always fun shooting with @cassblackbird. Exciting things coming with #DavidBeckhamFragrances,” he teased.

 

 

The new fragrance will join the retired athlete’s other scents, which include David Beckham Homme, David Beckham Instinct, Intimately Beckham, and a his-and-hers collection with Victoria.

When David was named “Sexiest Man Alive” by PEOPLE in 2015, he explained more about the placement and meaning of some of his tattoos.

The doting dad said that on his left shoulder there is a reclining angel with the motto “in the face of adversity.” He had Brooklyn’s name tattooed on his lower back after his eldest child’s 1999 birth. The names Romeo and Cruz bracket a large angel, and Harper’s name is tattooed on his neck.

Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party brought out the likes of the Beckham kids, Tom Cruise and even a Spice Girls reunion. But one familiar face was missing from the London get-together: Nicola Peltz Beckham.

The 29-year-old actress and wife of Brooklyn Beckham revealed on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, April 20, that instead of attending the party, she was actually spending some quality time with her grandmother.

In one upload, Nicola shared an image of her grandmother — who was her maid of honor at her and Brooklyn’s wedding — smiling while receiving a hug, along with the message, “My world in my arms.”

A follow-up image showed the Beckham family — sans Nicola — posing ahead of the 50th birthday gathering, as Nicola used the photo to note that she wished she could’ve joined her family at Oswald’s, the private members club in London where the festivities were held.

In the family photo, the Beckhams — Victoria and David, 48, their daughter Harper, 12, and their sons Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 19 — all dressed to impress while posing on a staircase.

Victoria rocked a sheer mint green gown and Harper wore a champagne-colored dress, while the boys all kept to tuxedos. While David, Brooklyn and Romeo opted for classic black, Cruz wore a standout all-white tux.

The family wasn’t the only ones at the 50th birthday party. Other attendees included Gordon Ramsay, Salma Hayek-Pinault, Jason Statham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.

During the get-together, a Spice Girls reunion got the internet talking when bandmates Geri Halliwell-Turner, Emma Bunton, Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm and Melanie “Mel B” Brown joined Victoria for a surprise dance routine to their 1997 single “Stop.”

A clip shared by David showed the five women busting out the choreography for party-goers while they stood in the same positions as they did in their music video.

The night ended with David offering his wife, who arrived at the party on crutches after a February gym accident, a sweet piggyback ride out to the car.

David Beckham weighed in on whether or not he believed Travis Kelce could keep up with his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s superstardom.

The retired soccer star, 49, spoke with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, May 8, and was asked if he ever talked to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end about the pressure of the limelight.

“I think he can handle it,” the U.K. native candidly responded. “You know, we know Taylor can definitely handle it.”

Similar to Travis, David was known for his athletic abilities but was launched into new levels of public interest after debuting his relationship with Spice Girls alum Victoria Beckham in 1998.

Travis, 34, and Taylor went public with their relationship in September 2023 and while the athlete already had fame as an NFL player, his popularity has only skyrocketed.

Earlier this month, Travis revealed he had to stop having mail delivered to his home after fans got a hold of his address and sent him excessive amounts of packages.

“The one thing you don’t realize, that when somebody posts your house online, that everybody now has your address and people just send stuff to your house,” Travis told brother Jason Kelce on the May 1, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “So I literally stopped getting mail to my house. I had to stop. I had to literally tell the post office and everybody to, like, stop bringing stuff to my house.”

Though Jason, 36, admitted that “there’s some stuff that comes and it’s pretty cool,” Travis didn’t want any of it anymore.

“Anything sent to my house, send right back to the sender,” Travis explained. “So anybody that’s just sending random s–t to my house, uh, it’s not getting to me.”

The revelation came months after Jason shared that his brother had to relocate due to security concerns with his relationship with Taylor.

“[Travis] had to completely move out of his house. People were just staying by his house,” Jason said on the February 12 episode of “The Big Podcast With Shaq.” “I mean [for] safety reasons, [he had to move.] And the first day he moved into the new house … [in] a gated community, somebody knocks on the back window of the house.”

Despite the obstacles that come with a high-profile romance, it doesn’t seem like it’s deterring the football star. A source exclusively told Life & Style in April that during the A-list couple’s private getaway in the Bahamas, Travis “told Taylor he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and she told him she feels the same.”

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, May 8, the soccer star, 49, opened up about the girl group — consisting of Melanie “Mel B” Brown, Melanie “Mel C” Chisolm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell Horner and Victoria Beckham — reuniting at Victoria’s 50th birthday last month.

David spedified that he actually put his wife’s birthday celebration together before host Jimmy Kimmel asked how long it had been since the Spice Girls sang together.

“It’s actually been 12 years since they did the Olympics in the U.K. but over 15 years since they actually were on a stage together. So obviously having them all there that night, and I didn’t expect them to all get up on stage,” he said of the event.

David continued: “But I had a whole video planned where me and my kids recreated the ‘Mama’ video. My son, who plays the guitar and sings, had a song, and he sang ‘Mama,’ and all of a sudden all the girls got up — and I’m their biggest fan, you know? I tend not to tell my wife that. I tend to tell her that I fancied her, but she was a Spice Girl. I love that about her… So I was a fan.”

On Saturday, April 20, the fashion designer marked her milestone birthday with a star-studded bash in London.

Following the festivities, her son Cruz Beckham gave fans a glimpse at his mother’s band teaming up again at the get-together to sing their 1996 hit “Mama” while he played the acoustic guitar.

“You’re welcome….” he captioned the Instagram post.

“Are we in tune? I’m not sure we are!” Mel B told the audience, while guests cheered.

Later in the evening, the Spice Girls danced along to their 1997 single “Stop,” as seen in a clip shot by David and shared by Victoria on Instagram.

“Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much! #SpiceUpYourLife,” she captioned the video.

“I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner 💚💛🧡💜💙🩵🩷🤍,” David wrote alongside the same clip.

Since their split in 2001, the Spice Girls have remained friends and reunited for a reunion tour in 2019, without Victoria.

Beckham is getting candid about one of his most buzzed about hair changes.

 

The Netflix docuseries Beckham delved into several parts of the former soccer player’s life — including the dramatic story of what happened behind the scenes when he got a buzz cut in 2000.

“I had a hairdresser at the time called Tyler. I said to him, ‘I’m gonna cut my hair’ and he was like, ‘Are you sure? You really want to do that?,’ ” Beckham explained in the third episode of the docuseries.

He said his Manchester United Coach Sir Alex Ferguson confronted him about the change ahead of their match against Leicester City in March 2000. “And [Ferguson] said, ‘David take the cap off.’ And I said, ‘No.’”

“Stubbornness,” Ferguson recalled. “And then I said, ‘Oh well.’”

When Beckham debuted his new buzz cut on the field during the game, the commenters noted, “the blonde locks have gone” and “the sight of the skinhead will take a bit of getting used to.”

Though the former soccer player noted: “I never did it to create attention. I’m not that person.”

Despite his intentions, the new hairdo — along with his continued success on the field — drew lots of attention from his fans across the U.K. Hundreds of fans wanted to see his new look for the first time and footage showed them standing in long lines for an autograph.

He noted that it became a huge pop culture moment in the U.K., as other men and even his young fans were hoping to become just like him.

“Literally kids, ‘I want to be David Beckham, I want to shave my head. And schools were having to write in, ‘No shaving of heads,’ “ Clarke said.

Victoria Beckham, 49, recalled in the docuseries that her husband shaving his head was a moment where he “starts going from a boy to a man.”

“And it’s only natural that you’ll start flexing your muscles right? And don’t all kids rebel against their parents?,” she said, alluding to Sir Alex’s role as Beckham’s secondary father figure.

The full docuseries goes over the legendary athlete’s story, which is broken into four parts and told through varying perspectives. It also includes interviews with his parents, former teammates and Ferguson.

“He was so open,” said director Fisher Stevens about Beckham. “He’s like, ‘I’m ready. I want to tell my story before someone else does.’ And then I started doing research and I was like, ‘Jesus, this guy’s life is nuts. Nuts.’ I had no idea.”

David Beckham has nothing but love for his “brother,” Marc Anthony.

The athlete, 48, celebrated Anthony’s 55th birthday on Saturday by sharing two sweet posts on his Instagram Story.

“Once a brother always a brother 🤍,” Beckham wrote alongside a black and white photo of himself and Anthony. “Happy Birthday man, Love Ya.”

In another image celebrating his longtime friend, Beckham and Anthony smiled as they posed with glasses of red wine in front of a fireplace decorated with stockings during the holidays.

“We laugh as one 🤍,” he captioned the smiling snapshot.

Earlier this month, Beckham surprised the Latin pop singer as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“So proud of my brother another incredible achievement and so well deserved,” Beckham wrote in a post on Instagram. “Honoured to be there for you 🩷 Love you man @marcanthony ⭐️.”

His arrival at the dedication ceremony was a shock to Anthony, who teared up as Beckham made a touching speech in honor of his friend.

“So I first met Marc 20 years ago when I was playing for Real Madrid. Probably not a very cool thing to say, but I was very starstruck when I met Marc because on the way to every Real Madrid game I used to listen to his music. I now dress a little bit like him. I learned salsa for one man only — but please don’t tell my wife,” Beckham said in the speech, per Access Hollywood. 

He continued, “But when we met, we immediately had a special connection. I knew that I had a friend for life. Over the years our friendship has grown, and Marc is family – godfather to my son, Cruz, and someone I love to spend time with.”

In July, Anthony welcomed a baby with wife Nadia Ferreira, and Beckham was one of the first people to meet the newborn.

The “You Sang to Me” musician shared a sweet photo of Beckham kissing the baby’s foot on Instagram. In his caption, he wrote, “Tío David nos vino a visitar. Que bendición,” which translates to “Uncle David came to visit us. What a blessing.”

At Anthony’s wedding to the model in January, Beckham was a groomsman and stood beside his longtime friend as he said, “I do.”

In a video montage from the nuptials posted by Ferreira, 24, and Anthony on Instagram after the wedding, Beckham appeared to make a toast to the couple at the reception.

David Beckham has received a six-month ban from driving after he was caught using his cell phone behind the wheel last year.

The BBC reported on Thursday that the 44-year-old former soccer star appeared at the Bromley Magistrates’ Court outside of London, where he received six points on his license. The points were added to the six points already on his license for previous speeding offenses, which resulted in the driving ban.

Beckham, who had previously pled guilty to using his cell phone while driving, was fined £750, as well as £175 in costs and fees, along with the ban.

According to CNN, Beckham was photographed by a member of the public driving through traffic while looking at his phone last fall, on November 21.

“Instead of looking straight forward, paying attention to the road he appeared to be looking at his lap,” prosecutor Matthew Spratt said, according to the BBC. Beckham’s lawyer said that the soccer player had “no recollection of the day in question or this particular incident”.

“There is no excuse for what took place but his view is as he cannot remember,” he added, according to the BBC.

William has been in Cornwall in his capacity as the head of the Duchy of Cornwall, highlighting the issue of homelessness with visits to the Nansledan Estate. During his visit, William also met with hospital staff on the Isles of Scilly and participated in an impromptu game of volleyball with young lifeguards on Fistral Beach.

Discussing William’s two-night stay away from home in Cornwall, Jennie said: “It’s great news that William feels relaxed enough to stay away for a night. I’ve no doubt that Catherine’s parents will be staying with her, but even so it must be a step in the right direction. Hopefully Catherine is feeling stronger every day and, with the sun now shining, she’ll be able to enjoy the great outdoors which, for her, has always been restorative.”

While out and about, William provided an update on the Princess of Wales, stating: “She’s doing well, thanks,” before adding: “The children are very jealous that I am here… Maybe we might come later in the year.”

Prince William’s trip to Cornwall coincided with Prince Harry’s return to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and his subsequent journey to Nigeria with Meghan Markle. Jennie believes that dealing with ‘the Harry problem’ is likely too much for William at this point. She said: “Dealing with ‘the Harry problem’ is probably just one step too far for William. I believe he has moved on with his life and has, to all intents and purposes, disowned the brother to whom he was once so close.”
