Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, would have never got married had Harry’s mother Princess Diana been alive, an expert has claimed

Six years ago today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in a lavish Royal Wedding held in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got hitched on May 19, 2018, with the couple saying “I do” surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones as the world watched the televised landmark event. But if Princess Diana had still been alive, one royal expert believes the wedding may never have taken place.

Back in March, Dickie Arbiter spoke to Times Radio about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The commentator on the British Royal Family, who was the press spokesman for Queen Elizabeth II from 1988 until 2000, said that he believes if Diana had been alive, Harry and Meghan would not have got married.

Speaking two months ago, Mr Arbiter said: “If Diana had been alive, I’m going to stick my neck out here, and I doubt Harry would have married Meghan.” He went on to add: “Diana was very careful about her boys, they were her boys. She protected them, and she would have protected them against anybody she felt wasn’t the right person.”

He then spoke of how Harry had a “number of girlfriends” but they didn’t want to “be in the goldfish bowl”, but he wanted something like his brother William had – a marriage and kids. Mr Arbiter added: “My own personal opinion is that he rushed into the marriage.”

He went on to say that he believes Diana, who sadly died in 1997, would have put a “question mark over it”, noting that he feels Harry wouldn’t be where he is now if Diana was still alive.

Commenting on the video, which was shared on Times Radio’s YouTube Channel, one person said: “I said from the beginning that Diana would never have approved of her.”

Another added: “I have always said Diana would have seen through Meghan Markle in a New York minute. She would never have allowed Harry to marry her.” While a third penned: “I absolutely agree. I don’t think Megan Markle would have been able to get near Harry. He would NEVER married this woman.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Nigeria has been referred to as a ‘mini royal tour’ despite the pair famously stepping back from their senior Royal roles in 2020 – but one leading royal expert claims this term would not have “pleased” King Charles or Prince William.

Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: “The King and Prince William are firmly of the belief that you are either in or out of the working Royals. This seems to be a rather strange halfway house. I think both the King and the Prince, and indeed the Government, will want it to be made clear that Harry is not representing either the Royal Family or Britain on this trip.”

Jennie revealed how William appears more at ease with wife Kate Middleton’s cancer recovery, as a key move indicates she’s “feeling stronger every day”. The Prince of Wales embarked on his furthest journey from his family since the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis, undertaking two days of official duties.

The leading Royal expert believed that this decision is a positive indication that Kate is “feeling stronger every day”.

William has been in Cornwall in his capacity as the head of the Duchy of Cornwall, highlighting the issue of homelessness with visits to the Nansledan Estate. During his visit, William also met with hospital staff on the Isles of Scilly and participated in an impromptu game of volleyball with young lifeguards on Fistral Beach.

Discussing William’s two-night stay away from home in Cornwall, Jennie said: “It’s great news that William feels relaxed enough to stay away for a night. I’ve no doubt that Catherine’s parents will be staying with her, but even so it must be a step in the right direction. Hopefully Catherine is feeling stronger every day and, with the sun now shining, she’ll be able to enjoy the great outdoors which, for her, has always been restorative.”

While out and about, William provided an update on the Princess of Wales, stating: “She’s doing well, thanks,” before adding: “The children are very jealous that I am here… Maybe we might come later in the year.”

Prince William’s trip to Cornwall coincided with Prince Harry’s return to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and his subsequent journey to Nigeria with Meghan Markle. Despite previous speculation, Harry did not meet with any Royal family members during his UK visit, including his father, King Charles.

Royal expert Jennie commented on the ongoing feud between the brothers: “I think we have to give up hope that the rift between the brothers will be healed at any time in the near future, or indeed ever.”

She added: “William’s head and heart must be bursting with all that he has on his plate right now: his wife’s cancer treatment, his father’s illness, his children growing up fast, the pressure for him to take on more royal duties, the prospect of becoming King earlier than he might ever have wanted.”

Jennie believes that dealing with ‘the Harry problem’ is likely too much for William at this point. She said: “Dealing with ‘the Harry problem’ is probably just one step too far for William. I believe he has moved on with his life and has, to all intents and purposes, disowned the brother to whom he was once so close.”

Now, Buckingham Palace has announced that the Royal Family is to postpone engagements that may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign.

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn exclusively told the Mirror : “Harry and Meghan, the renegade Royals, will struggle to conceal their delight that the Royal family has decided to postpone much of its work in the run-up to the general election at the beginning of July.”

That’s why they make sure they are constantly seen holding hands and emphasising their commitment to the young and disadvantaged.”

He concluded: “It’s a clever pitch from a couple who want to be seen as the fun alternative to the fusty, out of touch and now largely shutdown Royal family.”

Harry and Meghan’s renewed focus on their personal appearances is thought to have worried William and Kate, as Tom Quinn previously told the Mirror: “The senior royals, especially William and Kate, are terrified of one thing above all others: that Harry and Meghan will continue to organise trips across the world until they are seen as the public face of the royal family. The fear is made worse because William knows that with his wife stricken with cancer he cannot compete and he can’t stop the Meghan and Harry rollercoaster.”

Harry and Meghan, who stepped down from the royal family in 2020, have also hinted that there could be future trips for the couple, as in a message thanking the people of Nigeria following their return home, they described it as “the first of many trips”.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not brought Prince Archie or his sister Princess Lilibet to the UK for nearly two years.

Prince Archie is said to be “desperate” to join his father Prince Harry on a trip to the UK because he wants to see his grandad King Charles, however neither of his parents are keen to encourage this, according to a source.

Meghan Markle and Harry moved away from the Royal Family in 2020 after stepping down as working members of the Firm, eventually moving to Montecito and welcoming their daughter Princess Lilibet in 2021.

But their are fears that as their children grow older they will become more curious about their extended British family as the Sussexes have limited contact with the royals. One royal expert has claimed that even if the Duke of Sussex does return to the UK to visit his father with his children – that it is unlikely that the Duchess will join them.

Archie and Lilibet have not been to the UK since June 2022 when they travelled back for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, although King Charles continues to send gifts to his grandchildren for their birthdays and Christmas.

Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “”Archie loves the idea that his grandad lives in a castle and Meghan was worried that a magnificent shepherd’s hut or similar extravagant present will only increase Archie’s growing interest in his royal connections.

“She doesn’t want Britain to become a longed-for fantasy for her son so she had been pushing Harry to insist that his father gets Archie a simple present.”

Mr Quinn also claims that the King is equally keen to indulge his grandchildren, partly because “wants to make up for what he sees as his neglect of his own sons in their youth”.

He added of five-year-old Archie: “He is apparently desperate to come to the UK with his father, but Meghan and Harry don’t want to encourage this.”

Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths explained that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are unlikely to want to bring their children over, even if the King does invite them to Balmoral for the summer.

She told TalkTV: “Even if Harry comes, I can’t imagine a world in which Meghan comes over with the kids, it’s really sad.

“[Meghan] was never really very enamoured with the rural royal life and the sort of cold two bar radiators and the boot rooms.

“I mean can you imagine Meghan stalking in the Highlands all summer? I can’t really to be honest.”

An insider admitted to Page Six: “I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry. He may decide that life is just too short.

“Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”

‘Today, we lost my angel on earth,’ Bradley — who, along with Nicola, is the son of billionaire Nelson Peltz — wrote in the caption.

‘She was not only the happiest but one of my favorite souls I ever came across. She was the light that would brighten your day,’ he went on.

‘Her heart was so big that you could feel it when she smiled, and in turn make you smile. May her soul rest in peace and in paradise in heaven. I love you Bunny.’

Bringing her fashion A-game, Victoria looked as chic as ever for her on-stage appearance, wearing a cream trouser suit with a black camisole and her hair down and sleek, while daughter Harper – who recently celebrated her 12th birthday – wore a pretty pink dress that matched the club’s pink football kit.

Brooklyn and Nicola celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month.

The loved-up couple tied the knot in a lavish $3.5 million wedding ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022.

Brooklyn and Nicola exchanged vows at her billionaire father Nelson’s $103m compound in front of a star-studded crowd that included Eva Longoria and Serena Williams.

The fashion designer was joined by husband David, kids Harper and Romeo and her parents for some Beckham family fun

Victoria Beckham is ending 2023 on a high note with her loved ones!

After a Christmas chock-full of family fun, the fashion designer, 49, shared a sweet collection of photos on Instagram, documenting the Beckhams’ night out.

Victoria began the carousel of photos with a shot of herself and husband David Beckham. She also included shots of her daughter, Harper, 12, son Romeo, 21, with girlfriend, Mia Regan, as well as her parents, Jackie and Anthony Adams.

“Special night with my family.I love you all so much x,” she captioned the pics, which appeared to be taken at restaurant during their evening out.

Absent from the photos was son Cruz, 18. Though, the designer tagged him in the caption.

Victoria also tagged son Brooklyn, 24, and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, writing, “We miss you.” Nicola, 28, reciprocated the love, commenting, “Miss you all so much!!”

The Beckhams’ night out comes just days after the family was all in one place to celebrate Christmas together.

This year, Victoria surprised David, 48, with a very special gift — a coop full of chickens.

She gave her Instagram followers a look at the lively gift with a video of him feeding the fowl, which she captioned, “What do you get @davidbeckham for Christmas??”

In the clip, the soccer legend sports a Santa hat as he sprinkles seeds around the coop, saying, “I got some chickens and a cockerel.”

From behind her camera lens, the fashion designer dubs the birds “Beckham chickens” and observes that the family’s new feathery friends are “a bit camera shy.”

Beyond their time with the birds, the couple also soaked up some quality time with their kids, and Victoria shared two family portraits to celebrate the holiday season.

In one festive snap, the longtime couple cuddled up with all four of their kids — Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

“Happy Christmas!!!” she captioned the photo. “Kisses from all the Beckham’s!!!xxxx.”

Daughter-in-law Nicola made an appearance in the former Spice Girl’s second post of the day.

“Happy Christmas!! Lots of love from the Beckham’s [sic] and the Peltz Beckhams!!! Kisses,” Victoria wrote alongside the group picture, which was missing only Romeo, who plays soccer for Brentford F.C.

Peltz reposted the snap on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I hope everyone has a blessed day. Love you all so much.”

Also in the mix at Christmas was David’s mom, Sandra Beckham. On Friday, the retired athlete and Sandra had lunch together, along with a few other family members.

To document the moment, he shared a sweet selfie, as well as a photo of the mother-son duo doing dishes together.

“Lunch with mum & then the dishes with a few laughs 🩷,” David captioned the post — and also called out his younger sister, Joanne, who wasn’t featured in the photos but was at the lunch too and “didn’t do dishes SHOCKER 😂.”

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, published on April 21, the fashion designer and former Spice Girls star, 50, described her hands-on parenting style, which includes mother-daughter girls’ nights now that her daughter, Harper, 12, is her only child still living at home.

The article referenced a trip that Victoria and Harper took to a supermarket chain in England called Waitrose to pick up a specific snack that the preteen wanted for school.

“I’ve never not done those things, neither has David. They are important,” the mom of four said of everyday parenting chores that also serve as bonding moments.

But when her former soccer player husband is away, Victoria and her daughter make sure to have glam nights.

“We do them when David is away,” she said, before revealing, “Tonight it’s fake tan.”

The singer recently celebrated her 50th birthday at a star-studded party at Oswald’s, a private members-only club in London, on Saturday, April 19. Guests included Tom Cruise, Marc Anthony, Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsay, Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

In her interview with The Sunday Times, Victoria reflected on getting older. “The thing with aging is that it is what it is. I always remember Marc Jacobs saying to me when he turned 60 that it was better than the alternative of not turning 60,” she told the outlet.

“But generally I feel good about things,” she added. “I have better opportunities now than I did when I was younger.”

The fashion designer, 49, applauded her 12-year-old daughter — whom she shares with husband David Beckham — as she joined her for a remote workout session this week.

“Remote work out with @mrbobbyrich,” Victoria captioned the sweet video, which was shared on her Instagram Story.

“Check out my little gym partner on the cable machine!!! #harperseven,” the proud mom added, highlighting her little one’s fitness routine.

In the video, a split screen on a laptop showed the Spice Girls alum moving side to side and downward with the equipment from the cable machine, while Harper swung from left to right with another cable machine in a separate location.

In the top corner of the screen, the gym trainer sat and coached the mother-daughter duo.

Victoria wore a black sports bra and matching training gloves for the workout session, while Harper wore black shorts and a light-colored top.

The former English football player, 48, posted an adorable photo on Instagram showing Harper carefully applying makeup on his face.
