Meghan Markle’s half-sister has accused the Duchess of Sussex of being manipulative and peddling lies following the release of her latest documentary with Prince Harry.

Samantha Markle ripped into the six-part Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan labelling it a ‘flopumentary’ that was ‘ridiculous’ and bordering on ‘comedy’.

‘It is so much rhetoric at this point, and so many lies have been thrown out there, debunked, and yet still there is this repeated need to push this narrative,’ she said on Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Friday.

Harry & Meghan contains a string of revelations and allegations about Harry’s mother Princess Diana, how the couple met, their first dates, ‘unconscious bias’ in the Royal Family and why the Sussexes ‘had to quit’ royal duties in March 2020.

Samantha addressed claims made in the documentary she was the reason her estranged daughter Ashleigh Hale, 37, was not invited to the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

Ashleigh claimed in the documentary she was told by Meghan she could not attend because of her strained relationship with Samantha and ‘guidance’ from the palace.

‘I think I said I was hurt on some level, but I understood where it was coming from,’ she said.

‘To know that it was because of my biological mother that this relationship, that’s so important to me, was impacted in that way. I feel like because of her, it was taken away. It’s been hard.’

Samantha dismissed the rumours claiming the decision to not invite her daughter was ultimately up to Meghan.

‘It was really surprising to hear that there was a narrative spun that made Ashley feel like she was not invited because of something having to do with me,’ she said.

‘I heard from a royal insider who knows, that was up to up Meghan, so Meghan lied to my daughter which made my daughter feel begrudging of me.’

‘I can see how my daughter would have felt, torn between the two and then feeling perhaps like she could not go to the wedding because of me.

‘That is not true, that is a lie. I found out that the royals did not say that, Meghan said that. She then lied to my daughter and made my daughter feel like it was something wrong with me that prevented her from going to the wedding.’

Samantha slammed comparisons made between Meghan and Princess Diana.

Prince Harry claimed in the documentary he ‘had to quit’ royal duties to protect Meghan as he compared the former Suits actress to his late mother.

The Duke of Sussex compared paparazzi following Diana to the online harassment faced by Meghan as he described her as ‘prey’ for social media ‘hunters’.

Samantha dismissed the comparison saying her sister was not like the late Princess.

‘Diana was never noted as being a compulsive liar, Diana was never noted as destroying other people, ignoring people through heart attacks, strokes, pandemics,’ she said.

Both Ashleigh and Meghan opened up about their relationship in the series, with her father Thomas Markle connecting the two via email initially.

As part of their $100million deal with Netflix, the privacy-conscious couple have handed over a trove of pictures and video from their relationship.

These included snaps of Meghan with Ashleigh on a trip to New Orleans before she met Harry, as well as Meghan standing by Ashleigh’s side on her wedding day.

The two women grew close after Meghan emailed her niece, with Ashleigh claiming there were ‘long emails’ back and forth several days a week.

Meghan said: ‘My dad said that Samantha had found her daughter and I remember saying, “oh if you have her email address, I want to email her”.

‘I think we both crave the same thing. I wanted a sister, and she was like a little sister.

‘Ash was put through quite a bit by the media just by association and I didn’t want her life to be plagued with all that drama.’

Ashleigh was brought up by her paternal grandparents from the age of two, and was adopted by them before reconnecting with her mother in 2007.

In another swipe against the royals, Ashleigh added: ‘Communication with Meg became less and less frequent… my impression was that her relationships were being managed on some level.

‘She took me to New Orleans, we walked around, we listened to some good live music, ate way too much food and had way too many drinks.

‘It was just the two of us which I think is really special. I think she takes on a lot of roles for me.

‘There is a sister element, there’s a maternal element, she’s my friend, she’s kind of all the things.’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rang in daughter Princess Lilibet’s third birthday amid ongoing strife throughout the royal family.

The party, which took place over the weekend at the Sussexes’ home in Montecito, Calif., was attended by close friends, family and pals of little Lili, who turned three Tuesday, People reports.

Named for Queen Elizabeth II’s nickname among family and close friends, Lilibet was first referred to with her royal title early last year during her christening in March 2023. Neither grandfather King Charles nor her uncle, Prince William, attended the occasion, though both were invited, according to People.

The christening was just two months after Harry, 39, released his memoir, “Spare,” airing much of the royal family’s dirty laundry. He and the “Suits” star, 42, relocated to the U.S. in early 2020 as they announced they’d be stepping back from senior royal duties.

King Charles, 75, and daughter-in-law Princess Catherine, 42, both announced earlier this year that they were undergoing treatment for cancer.

Last month, People reported that the pair and Prince William, 41, skipped out on the 10th anniversary service for Harry’s Invictus Games, though they were all invited. Despite his father’s health crisis, Harry — who in April declared the U.S. his official residence — did not get to see the king during his time in the U.K. reportedly due to the king’s “diary of commitments and various other priorities.”

In following days, Markle praised her husband during the first stop of their Nigeria tour, following his “inspiring” words at the GENACO Foundation’s inaugural mental health summit: “You see why I’m married to him?”

In addition to tensions with his royal relatives, Harry and Markle have had their own issues. Their charity, the Archewell Foundation, was recently declared “delinquent” by her native California.

 

Paul Burrell has defended Prince William following claims Prince Harry branded him a ‘snob’ after cautioned him not to rush into marrying Meghan Markle.

 

The 62-year-old, who was butler to the late Princess Diana, has insisted that the Duke of Cambridge, 38, is categorically ‘not a snob’ and that he would have simply been ‘showing concern’ for his brother, because marrying into the monarchy is ‘not easy for anyone’.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today via video link from his Cheshire home, Paul said that William is ‘rational and calm’ where Harry, 35, is ‘fiery and hot’ and argued that William was only trying to ‘educate’ his brother before marrying Meghan, 38.

The claims, made in the book Finding Freedom, alledge that William told his brother to ‘take as much time as he needed’ to get to know ‘this girl’ Meghan ahead of marrying her.

William is not a snob,’ said Paul, ‘That is not true. He would only show concern for his brother marrying someone and bringing them into the royal family.

‘Trying to educate him, saying. “It’s not easy for anyone marrying into this family and I’m concerned about you”. And showing his concern. We’re talking about two very different personalities. William is rational and calm and Harry is fiery and hot.’

Burrell, 60, served as a footman for the Queen and later butler to Diana for 10 years until her death in 1997 and told that Meghan will have come up against the same ‘grey suits’ as the late Princess of Wales.

He went on: ‘Meghan soon found out she would come up against the grey suits.

As Diana found, they’re the people that run the other households in the royal families and you can’t come across those because those are the people that run the show.’

He added: ‘Meghan soon found out she had to please everyone, she wasn’t just marrying Harry. She was marrying a whole institution, a thousand years of royal history.’

He went on to predict that in the absence of Diana, the Duchess of Cambridge could be the person to ‘fill the void’ between Harry and William, and bring the pair back together.

 

‘Of course there is a void between them now’, told Paul, ‘That should be filled by their mother, but of course their mother is not here.

I would like to think maybe Kate will step into the void and bring those boys back together, they will come back together, they will be together they belong together and I hate to see them apart.’

The claims came in book Finding Freedom which provides an intimately detailed and personalised version of the events leading up to the Sussexes’ dramatic departure from royal life.

Co-authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have ‘all information in this book has at least two sources’. Harry and Meghan deny giving interviews.

Emily Andrews, The Mail on Sunday’s royal editor also appeared, and told that while the pair are both respected journalists, it’s likely Harry and Meghan granted some access to the authors ahead of the book.

She said: ‘Both authors are well respected royal journalist, particularly Carolyn, their pedigree is good.’

‘I think it’s obvious from the exerts we have seen so far, that the couple, Harry and Meghan, did help and and did grant some access.

Whether it was giving friends blessings to speak, because the book gives Harry and Meghan’s version of events for the first time.’

 

Meanwhile PR guru Nick Ede also appeared and agreed that Finding Freedo was coming from ‘the right people with the right messages’.

He told: ‘Harry and Meghan are known for suing everyone left right and centre, I know she knows Omid and that Omid had her ear.

‘These are revelations which are coming from the right people with the right messages, they feel like they had to get out

What this is is an open letter, especially from Meghan who has come from Hollywood, who is used to using her voice and likes hearing her voice, and she hasn’t been able to do that for two years.’

Prince Harry has given the public a rare update about the development of his two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in a new interview.

Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, live with their children in Montecito, California, where the couple relocated from Britain in 2020 following their controversial split from the monarchy.

The duke and duchess have been conscious to keep their children mostly out of the public eye, however, provided fans with a detailed insight into their family life through home movie footage and snapshots included in their 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

Archie, 4, was born in London in 2019 and was joined by his baby sister, Lilibet, in 2021 who was born in California.

 

Speaking to Good Morning America’s Will Reeve in an interview promoting Harry’s work with the Invictus Games in Canada which aired on Friday, the prince provided fans with some rare insight into his children’s development.

“The kids are doing great. The kids are growing up like all kids do, very very fast,” he said. “They’ve both got an incredible sense of humor and they make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day, like most kids do.”

Lilibet “Lili” Diana, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is 3!

Lili, the younger of Harry and Meghan’s two children, was born June 4, 2021.

The Sussex family, including Lili’s big brother Archie, reportedly celebrated Lili’s 3rd birthday over the weekend with a private party at their home in Montecito, California, according to People magazine.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes declined to comment to ABC News about the family’s birthday celebrations.

Harry and Meghan have recently shared updates about Lili’s personality.

While visiting Nigeria in May, Meghan told students at a local school that Lili loves “singing and dancing” class because she loves to jump around, according to People.

Over four years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the duties of the British royal family, the prince’s 2016 statement confirming their relationship was removed from the royal website.

As such, it appears Prince Harry’s powerful 2016 statement that not only confirmed his romance with Meghan Markle, but also defended her from racist abuse, is no longer traceable on the royal family website.

While the November 8, 2016 statement can be found through the royal domain’s search engine, the link to actually bring a user to the statement itself is broken, multiple outlets have reported. E! News has reached out to reps for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as well as the Palace for comment regarding the matter.

Paul Burrell, who was a close confidante of the late Princess Diana, spoke to Lorraine earlier today about how overjoyed she would have been about her son’s engagement.

Princess Lilibet celebrated her third birthday an entire ocean away from the Windsors and did not receive any public wishes.

The youngest child to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lilibet celebrated her birthday with a star-studded party at the Sussexes’ $14 million mansion in Montecito, California, over the weekend. Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and other celebrities are believed to have attended the birthday bash.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, or Lili, was named using one of the nicknames for the late Queen Elizabeth II. She also made history by being the first senior royal baby to be born in the U.S.

 

It was only about a year after her birth when Lilibet traveled to the UK to physically meet her father’s side of the family. At the time, Prince Harry and his wife traveled with their two children to attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee festivities in June 2022.

Interestingly, the trip coincided with the little one’s first birthday, which allowed the royal family to celebrate the day together at Frogmore Cottage.

“Wishing Lilibet a very Happy 1st Birthday!” read a tweet from the late queen’s official account that year.

LADY Colin Campbell has branded Meghan Markle “cheap and vulgar” in an explosive new interview.

The author, 69, who has published three books on the royals, has also urged the Duchess of Sussex to stop acting like a celebrity.

Speaking to Closer magazine she said: “She was never an A-lister, so she needs to stop acting like one.
“Royalty do not behave like celebrities do. It’s cheap, vulgar and irresponsible.”

 

The royal writer went on to say that Meghan was “letting down” those who admire her by behaving this way.

This is not the first time that Lady Colin has warned the Duchess of Sussex of being wary of her behaviour.
