Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper back in hospital as she issues sad update

Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway revealed her husband Derek Draper was back in hospital during Thursday afternoon’s episode of Loose Women

Kate Garraway has revealed her husband Derek Draper is back in hospital.

The Good Morning Britain presenter revealed the news on Thursday afternoon’s episode of Loose Women. Giving an update on Derek’s health and praising carers, she revealed if it wasn’t for the people looking after him, he “would have died”.

As as he continues his battle with Long Covid, the former Labour lobbyist was first hospitalized in March 2020 with coronavirus, after suffering numbness in his hand, headaches and breathlessness. Despite being declared free of COVID-19 following 10 weeks in a medically induced coma, Derek has been left with long-term complications since contracting the virus. He was discharged on a trial basis in April 2021 but has been readmitted to the wards multiple times with numerous health issues, including kidney failure, brain inflammation and liver damage.

Speaking to the Loose Women panel, Kate explained: “He’s actually back in the hospital at the moment, I haven’t talked about this, but not the horrific drama fortunately, because there have been lots of, as we all experience, referrals and cancellations.”

“He’s gotten back in for something that he began last year, which he needed the second part of which will hopefully mean he has more movement, physical fractures. So it’s a positive hospital thing. So he’s actually not at home at the moment. So when the visiting game, but hopefully won’t be in for too long.”

Kate joined the panel to discuss Carer’s Rights Day as she gave an update on Derek. After speaking about her new book, focusing on her care for her husband, she explained: “It’s not that you want to be a ‘poor me’ about it because on the one hand I feel incredibly fortunate because so many hundreds of 1000s of people, everyday people lose people.

“I talk in the book about grief and it took me a long time to admit that as a family we were grieving because I felt guilty because actual bereavement, so many are going through, that you feel that this is a lesser degree, but really, it is a kind of grief because you go through mini deaths when someone’s very ill.”

Kate also recently admitted she’s constantly worried about losing Derek, who now requires full-time care on the ground floor of the couple’s London home. “I’d love to be able to tell you that, since Derek has been home, everything has been easy, that the miracle of him being at home has turned the day-to-day challenges into a breeze,” she told Good Housekeeping.

“But because we keep having emergency setbacks and he’s had to be rushed back into hospital so many times, the fear of him dying has never left us.” Kate and Derek, who have been married since 2005, are the proud parents of Darcey, 17, and fourteen-year-old William. The GMB presenter has previously commended the teenagers for their handling of their father’s condition, revealing that they’ve navigated it “brilliantly” and have readjusted to living differently since his decline.

Kate has also admitted Derek’s illness has negatively affected her own health, even resulting in her being hospitalized with chest pains from extreme stress.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Nolans sister Maureen forced to work at 69 and can’t retire despite selling millions of records

EXCLUSIVE: Nolans sister Maureen forced to work at 69 and can’t retire despite selling millions of records

Despite being a member of chart-topping The Nolans, Maureen reveals she is living in a rented house with no savings and pension

After selling millions of records at the height of her group’s fame, fans could be forgive for thinking  Maureen Nolan was set up for life financially. But the singer and actress is still having to work for a living at 69 as she cannot afford to retire.

Maureen lives in a rented house, has no pension and she believes her and her sisters were the victims of some rip-off merchants early in their careers. The Nolans were one of the biggest-selling girl groups in history, topping the charts with I’m in the Mood for Dancing, touring with Frank Sinatra and becoming international stars.

But Maureen says ruefully: “I need to keep working. We thought we’d be comfortably set up by this point in our lives, but I don’t have a pension, I don’t have any savings and I rent a house. When I split up from my husband in 2016, we sold our home. I couldn’t have bought a new place without a mortgage and at my age you can’t get a mortgage. I never thought I would ever rent. It would be nice to have just enough money to say, ‘OK, I’m out of here, showbiz-wise.’ But I don’t have that.”

    The Nolan Sister

Maureen is The Nolans’ longest-serving member, having sung with them for 31 consecutive years. She adds: “We made millions, well, somebody made millions, but not us. I think we were ripped off a bit along the way.

“We were probably a bit young and naive. We were very happy and we trusted people to handle our affairs. Looking back, that might be where it went awry. I sometimes think, ‘Wwhat happened to that?’”

Maureen is touring the UK in Calendar Girls The Musical and admits her financial situation does cause her concern. She says: “Showbusiness is feast or famine. When you’re earning, you’re earning a lot, but then you can be out of work for six months. Of course, I worry about money and the older I get the more I worry. They say money doesn’t buy happiness, but it makes misery a little bit easier, I think.

“But there’s no point being bitter and twisted, you’re still broke. So, I try to treat it with humour.” Financial troubles are not all Maureen has to worry about. The sisters have been living in cancer’s shadow for 20 years.

Bernie died from the disease in 2013 at 52, Linda, 64, who has been battling breast cancer since 2006, learnt it has now spread to her brain. Eldest Anne, 72, was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time three years ago, while youngest Coleen, 58, recently revealed she has a carcinoma.

With only Maureen and 71-year-old Denise untouched by the disease, doctors have told the family they probably have a rogue gene that hasn’t yet been identified.

Maureen adds: “So that’s a worry. Because they think it must be a rogue gene, there aren’t any tests available. We check ourselves and have regular mammograms, but we tend not to dwell on it. It’s unfair, but you’ve just got to get on with it.”

Maureen, who has a son Danny and four grandaughters, lives in Blackpool – where the Nolans grew up – and within walking distance of three of her sisters. Linda recently moved in with Denise and Anne is nearby.

Maureen’s brother, son and grandchildren are a stone’s throw away. The situation could not be more different to the four-year feud which led to the sisters dramatically falling out. It happened after Anne said she had been excluded from the group’s 2009 reunion tour. Denise backed her.

Maureen now reveals it was a letter from Anne and Denise that brought about a thaw in relations. She recalls: “They said, ‘Let’s try to get over it.’ It was awful, we’ve never fallen out like that before, my life was much less rich without Denise and Anne, so it was a huge relief when we made up. We’re as close as ever now.”

The fourth of eight children, Maureen sang with The Nolans from when they formed in 1974, until their 2005 split. They sold out stadiums as far afield as Russia and sold more than 30 million records during their career.

In recent years, Maureen has mainly worked as an actress, touring the UK in musical theatre shows such as Blood Brothers, Footloose and now Calendar Girls The Musical, which has been such a hit the four-month stint, which was to end in December, has been extended to June.

Co-written by Take That star Gary Barlow, it tells the story of a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire town, who set about creating a nude calendar to raise money for charity. The scene where the women finally strip off to pose for their photos is one of the highlights and Maureen admits that she was petrified on opening night.

She says: “Part of me couldn’t believe I’d said yes. But Calendar Girls has such a good history I couldn’t say no and the way they do that scene is so respectful. Now, it’s almost second nature. I’m covered by lots of fruit. I’d like to say its melons, but I think it’s oranges.”

In a star-studded cast, featuring former EastEnders actress Tanya Franks and singer Lyn Paul, Maureen plays big-hearted Ruth. While she is relishing Calendar Girls, she says it is unlikely The Nolans will be back together. They reunited in 2020, before splitting againin 2022.

Maureen says: “We joke that if we did, they’d call it The Zimmer Frame Tour.” I’d never say never, but with Linda being ill it would be very difficult and I think if we ever did do it, it would maybe be a Q&A format with a few little songs now and then.”

With the exception of Loose Women presenter Coleen, who has earned money in her solo and TV career, Maureen says her sisters have been left in the same boat and have to keep on working.

She adds: “It might come to a time where I can work out a way I can, maybe with the help of my state pension, sort something out. Or I could go and live with Coleen. But for now, I’ll just keep going. They’ll have to bury me in my lunch break.”

  • ITV Loose Women star ‘fuming’ with Josie Gibson on I’m A Celebrity after ‘real men’ comment

ITV Loose Women star ‘fuming’ with Josie Gibson on I’m A Celebrity after ‘real men’ comment

Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan was not impressed with Josie Gibson and Nella Rose’s conversation on I’m A Celebrity last night as they praised the ‘real men’ in the camp

Josie Gibson and Nella Rose’s conversation about “real men” sparked ire among one Loose Women panellist, who admitted that she was “fuming” after hearing the remarks.

During last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, YouTuber Nella and This Morning star Nella discussed the more traditional roles that the men had taken on in camp. “The men are supposed to go out, hunt, get the wood, make the fire whilst the women keep the vibes,” Nella said to Josie as they burst out laughing.

“It’s giving me faith in men again,” Josie quipped. Nella added: “Yeah! Imagine if it was a bunch of men my age – they’d be like, ‘Why are they the only ones getting the water, bruv?’ These are real men.”

Laughing about the moment in the studio, host Charlene White said to co-star Coleen Nolan: “Now, Col, this got you going, didn’t it?”

Nella Rose and Josie Gibson left I'm A Celeb fans unimpressed with their comments

“Oh, I was fuming,” Coleen confessed shaking her head. When asked why, she replied: “Because I feel sorry for men! They don’t know where they stand anymore! One minute we’re saying, ‘We’re all equal, everything should be equal, nobody should be opening doors for no one, no one should be standing up for anyone. And now you’ve got – who I love by the way – Josie and Nella… you’ve got them in there going, ‘These are real men, I wish men were all like this.’ I just thought, ‘Give men a break! Let them know what you want them to do!’

“I am quite old fashioned and I always used to love it when I was on a train and it was full and a man would stand up and give me a seat and I’d think, ‘Oh, that’s so nice and lovely.’ I know that my boys would do that. But I realise now that women wanted equal rights and everything, so I’ve joined that club now and I’ve tried not to moan about it. But then that happens and even I’m confused now and I’m not a man!”

Fans were not hugely impressed with the conversation either, with one commenting: “Not a fan of the ‘real men’ comments from Josie and Nella in regards to the men doing all the work around camp – imagine if two guys watched the girls cook dinner and said ‘yeah these are real women’ #Imaceleb.” While another remarked: “Sigh.. Nella and Josie setting women back #ImaCeleb.” A third wrote: “Nella and Josie. Men collecting logs doesn’t make them gentlemen. How you leave others after an experience with you is how you get your trademark #ImACeleb #moderngentleman.”

Denise Welch reignites feud with Piers Morgan over his bizarre Prince Harry ‘threat’

Denise Welch’s followers alerted the Metropolitan Police to Piers Morgan’s latest column about Prince Harry and his family following the Loose Women star sharing an extract on Twitter

Denise Welch has reignited her feud with long-time foe Piers Morgan following the Good Morning Britain presenter’s review of a new book about the Royal Family.

The Loose Women panellist, 65, took to social media on Tuesday morning to share an extract of Morgan’s furious column about Omid Scobie and his new book, Endgame. Scobie, who denies being a close friend of Meghan Markle but is often described as a “mouthpiece” for the Duchess of Sussex, makes several juicy revelations about the Royal Family in his new literary offering.

Within his review, alongside taking several swipes at Scobie, Morgan, 58, claims the release of Endgame will further damage Prince Harry’s relationship with his family and randomly tells the Duke of Sussex to “to heed the warning of Dionysius the Tyrant who was left a broken man by his constant warmongering and got finally bumped off by his own fed-up family.”

“I can’t speak for Charles, Camilla, William, or Kate, but if two close members of my family had spent the past few years trashing the rest of us on global media platforms, the only way I’d want to spend Christmas with them is if they were human chestnuts roasting on my open fire,” Morgan writes in his scathing Sun column.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter then goes on to rather oddly conclude his piece with: “Harry would do well to heed the warning of Dionysius the Tyrant who was left a broken man by his constant warmongering and got finally bumped off by his own fed-up family.”

Taking to Twitter (X) on Tuesday morning, former Coronation Street actress Denise shared the extract of Morgan’s lengthy column with her followers and wrote: “Today’s piece by Piers Morgan. Yet again totally justifying Harry’s decision to move away and protect his wife.

Denise’s followers were equally disgusted with Morgan’s comments, with some even tagging London’s Metropolitan Police’s Twitter account in their replies and asking why the presenter’s column is not being investigated. “He made a death threat but @metpoliceuk is not investigating it,” one wrote, with another adding: “@metpoliceuk once again why are you not approaching piers. This is a threat.”

“It’s amazing what these people get away with. I mean not surprising but still shocking to see in broad daylight,” another Twitter user added to the conversation in Denise’s replies, with one declaring: “Harry has been treated as a ‘spare’ by the U.K. monarchy/establishment from he was a wee boy. No wonder he’s angry and bitter.”

Ahead of his book being released on Tuesday, Endgame author Scobie took to social media last week to implore his followers to read his book in full rather than just extracts. The journalist told his Twitter followers on Friday: “Whether you like my work or loathe it, all I ask is that if you are reading coverage about what’s supposedly inside #ENDGAME, please also read the book itself. Incorrect and bad translations, snippets without context, leaks etc. do not tell the full or accurate story. Thank you.”

Morgan quote-tweeted Scobie’s message on Tuesday night, telling his followers and the Endgame author: “UPDATE: I’ll be exposing this shameless lying lickspittle in a new column posting today.” In the aforementioned column, Morgan raged: “Omid Scobie is a weaselly lickspittle making money by peddling garbage about the royals. I know for a fact Endgame is full of lies.”

  • Phillip Schofield ‘refused to take part’ in This Morning’s ‘toxicity’ probe over concern for his health

Phillip Schofield ‘refused to take part’ in This Morning’s ‘toxicity’ probe over concern for his health

A report from lawyer Jane Mulcahy KC was published today, sharing findings from an external review which looked into Phillip Schofield’s affair scandal and ITV exit

Phillip Schofield ‘reluctantly declined’ his invitation to be interviewed in a probe into a toxic working environment at This Morning, a bombshell report has revealed.

The investigation was brought about by Schofield admitting to having an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague.

The findings of the external review, published today, found that ITV made “considerable efforts” to investigate Phillip’s relationship with a younger ITV colleague. The report from the external review reveals that Phillip “reluctantly declined” to take part in an interview with Jane Mulcahy KC due to his health.

The report states: “A letter from PS’s solicitor, Jonathan Coad at Coad Law, dated 4 August 2023, stated that PS “reluctantly decline[d]” my invitation to participate in the Review because of the risk to his health. I am informed that PS’s mental health has since deteriorated.”

The unnamed person Phillip had the affair with also declined to take part as the report adds: “As to PX, by an email from solicitors Mishcon de Reya dated 10 August 2023, Iwas informed that PX wanted to move on with his life and was not prepared toassist with this Review. I inquired again on 24 October 2023. I received an email from Mishcon de Reya on 1 November 2023 stating that PX had already made his position clear.”

Phillip’s lawyer said in June he would “expect Phillip fully to co-operate with any formal enquiry”, but that he had not been approached yet.

The investigation was launched following the scandal surrounding long-serving presenter Phillip Schofield. Phillip, 61, left This Morning following a string of reports and speculation of a feud between himself and co-host Holly Willoughby. Days later, he quit ITV altogether as he admitted he had an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague.

The fallen TV star also admitted to lying about the relationship to his wife, agent and viewers – as well as This Morning colleagues, too. Following the scandal, which broke in May this year, ITV instructed a lawyer to look into how the affair and Phil’s exit was handled. The report also adds that the unnamed runner’s promotion from This Morning to Loose Women “had nothing to do” with Phillip, Mulcahy found. The report also states that “only one person” interviewed by Mulcahy had knowledge of the affair – and are said to have found out in 2021 – but “did not report their knowledge at time”.

The broadcaster’s chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall revealed earlier this year ITV had looked into rumours an affair between Phillip and an unnamed colleague had started in late 2019, but those involved denied the claims and continued to as recently as the same month as Phil’s admission.

It is also understood that one of the areas Mulcahy may have investigated is as to whether HR were involved, or indeed alerted at all, in the investigations undertaken by ITV. A source said in June: “It’s an area that will be looked at. No stone will be left unturned.”

Also in June, ITV boss Magnus Brooke was questioned by MPs at the Culture, Media and Sport Committee about “unhappy” staff at This Morning and claims of “bullying” at the daytime show. During the hearing, Brooke admitted that comments by Martin Frizell were “extremely ill-judged” after the This Morning editor referred to aubergines when asked about allegations of a “toxic” work environment on the programme.

Frizell was approached by Sky News ahead of presenter Holly Willoughby’s return to This Morning following the furore over Phillip Schofield ’s departure from ITV after he admitted having an affair with a younger colleague.

Asked if there is a “toxic” work environment on the show, the editor replied: “I’ll tell you what’s toxic, and I’ve always found it toxic – aubergine. Do you like aubergine? Do you? Do you like aubergine, because I don’t like aubergine. It’s just a personal thing.”

Meanwhile, another probe – this time an internal one – was reportedly launched last month after it was claimed one of the show’s producers has reportedly been accused of having an affair with a contestant during the filming of a spin-off in Barbados.

The holiday dating segment pilot, which was fronted by A Place In The Sun host Laura Hamilton, saw the senior staff member reportedly having a fling with a contestant during their time in the Caribbean. Although the producer has since resigned, the incident is said to have proven somewhat of an embarrassment for the broadcaster, who promised transparency in the wake of Schofield’s departure.

A spokesperson for ITV told the Mirror last month: “We are unable to comment on the details of any specific employment-related matters. ITV sets out and upholds very clear policies with regards to raising concerns and work-related conduct amongst our people.”

Denise Welch left red-faced as she’s noticed on the street for ‘s**t’ stained trousers

Loose Women star Denise Welch has admitted she’d ended up ‘s****ing’ herself after flying out to New York to see her eldest son and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy perform in Madison Square Garden

Loose Women star Denise Welch admits she suffered an embarrassing mishap after a trip to New York with her family last year.

The 65-year-old presenter shared that she visited the States to see her famous son Matty Healy, who is a frontman for the band The 1975, perform at Madison Square Garden. When she returned home from the star-studded event, the TV star says she was left red-faced after her husband realised there’d been stain marks on her cream trousers.

Denise laid bare the unfortunate incident in an interview with The Guardian. When asked to recall the most embarrassing moment in her life, Denise said: “S******* myself in New York last November. I was wearing cream trousers. We were going to see my son Matty and his band, the 1975, at Madison Square Garden, and I was walking through the streets, enjoying the sunshine, pretending I was in some kind of video – throwing my hat into the New York sky like Mary Tyler Moore.”

She continued: “I saw a couple of people turn and look at me. Now, although I’m not famous in New York, whenever Matty’s there I do get recognised as his mum, so I’m smiling and waving at them. I went back to the hotel room and bent over to get something out of the suitcase, and my husband said: ‘Do you realise you’ve shat yourself?’”

It comes after the TV presenter revealed that she would “never forgive” her son for missing her wedding to current husband Lincoln Townley. The former Coronation Street star explained the musician had to skip the special event because it clashed with an extremely important show.

“Matty, my Matthew, he missed my wedding to Lincoln. I remember when he called me I was doing a play. And he said ‘Mum what would you say if I told you I can’t make your wedding?’ It was 10 years ago. “And I said, ‘I would never forgive you,’ and he said, ‘Even if I was supporting the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park?’

Despite being hurt, Denise understood his dilemma and gave her blessing for Matthew to pursue the opportunity. “It hurt me, but I completely understood. It was a dilemma for both of us and it was hard. But I would have never of said ‘You’ve got to,’ because the band was [on the rise],” Denise added.

She now says the two are able to joke about the situation, expressing: “This is why it became a bit of a joke because years ago when they were just four teenagers making a lot of noise in the garage. I used to say ‘Get a job! Unless you are supporting the Rolling Stones get a job’.”

Opening up about his marriage to Denise, Lincoln said: “My most brilliant achievement was persuading Denise to marry me. I turned 40 last year and I have never met anyone like Denise, never been close to anyone like Denise, never loved anyone like I do Denise,” The couple married back in 2013 and have been together ever since.

  • Loose Women’s Sophie Morgan says she’s looking for love again after dating setbacks

Loose Women’s Sophie Morgan says she’s looking for love again after dating setbacks

Loose Women star Sophie Morgan is online dating again and is on the search for the perfect partner after opening up on what it’s like to date as a person with a disability

Sophie Morgan, 38, has worked in TV for almost 20 years and has had regular stints on Loose Women.

As we mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities today, she talks about campaigning and why she loves getting out of her comfort zone: This year has been big for me. I’ve had so many dream-come-true moments – I rode across America on a Can-Am Spyder, set up a new company and even had my own TV series, Living Wild: How To Change Your Life on Channel 4, which was about taking control of your life and living it on your own terms. The series was about travel primarily, so I loved that it didn’t centre on my disability.

I’ve also launched a campaign called Rights on Flights, for better treatment of disabled people when we fly. In February, my wheelchair and power attachment were broken when I was flying home from a work trip.

Like most disabled people, I want to just be living my life but when things like this happen it impossible to do that. And it happens so often, to so many of us. The fact is, I need to travel – for work, as a travel writer and for pleasure – but every time I fly there seems to a problem. When they break our chairs it’s like they’ve broken our legs. After that, life just stops.

Sometimes I question whether or not I am using my voice in the most effective way. There are so many barriers facing disabled people, and being able to fly at all is a privilege. But it’s a human right and, after all, we all need to be fully part of society.

Additionally, I am addicted to travelling. I love getting out of my comfort zone, going to new places and feeling free. I’ve always wanted that feeling of disappearing into the world -– anonymity and meeting new people and discovering yourself. I live for it.

I particularly love being in America because access is so much better there. The laws created for disabled people are more widely enforced so I find myself in a very different frame of mind. I’m much happier and less anxious, and the domino effect of that is I work better and live better.

I also feel like I can date again. I would never date in the UK because of the ableism I experience – for example the anxiety of somebody planning a first date in a place where I can’t get in or use the loo. In America it feels less intimidating and more possible, so I’m excited to spend more time there and see what’s possible.

My main goal in life is to make space for disabled people. After 20 years of working my ass off, I feel I finally have the platform I need and that thankfully, people are listening. So I have to do something with that.

One thing I’m doing in the States is working with my new company, Making Space, which I’ve set up with my business partner, Keely Cat-Wells. We’re both determined to increase representation of disabled people in employment and entertainment. I feel like I won the lottery working with Keely. She’s incredible.

We’ve recently partnered with US TV channel NBC. I had the joy of delivering training to a selection of aspiring disabled presenters for NBC earlier this year. I think it was the greatest sense of achievement I’ve ever had, being able to pass on what I’ve learnt in the 20 years since I became disabled and started working in telly to the next generation of disabled talent. Making Space is creating lasting change.

We’re also working with Netflix and our production company, Making Space Media, has partnered with Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine, too. Our productions will aim to centre disabled voices.

The younger generation of disabled people makes me so excited. They have so much less internalised ableism and so much more disability pride – something I’m only getting now. They already know their value, so it’s about helping them be heard.

It’s not all work, though. I see my family and friends a lot and obviously travel a lot. I’ve also got an art studio that I’m working on, so I’m going to start painting again. I listen to music – I’m learning to mix – and I’m learning to tattoo at the moment as well. I’m obviously tired. But I feel we’re at a precipice, me personally, and also the general community. I can’t help feeling there’s something in the air. It’s not tokenism, but a genuine drive towards inclusion. So I won’t stop.

Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if we didn’t have to spend so much time fighting for equity and inclusion. But then I think, just hold on, we are getting close and then, when I have some big wins – like influencing change in the UK aviation law or going to the White House to meet the US President or someone reads my book, Driving Forwards – and things feel good, I think to myself, “This is the reason why I was made disabled. So I’d better keep going.”

Loose Women host Denise Welch has shut down bizarre false claims she has died after false reports circulated on Sunday that she had been in a fatal accident

Denise Welch has confirmed that she’s “alive and well”, after being left baffled by false reports circulating on Sunday night that she had died.

The Loose Women host took to X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly before 9pm this evening to assure her 557k followers that she was not dead after her Wikipedia page was hijacked with the disinformation.

An unknown Internet user updated Denise’s biography on the online encyclopaedia with the untrue claim that the 65-year-old had been fatally run over by a mobility scooter. Another edit to her Wikipedia profile, which has since been amended to include only accurate details, also claimed that the former EastEnders star had ‘died of explosive diarrhoea’.

Denise was quick to shut down the rumours, writing, “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle”, before thanking the public for their concern. The update has been met with widespread relief from her fans, many of whom replied with sweet messages after discovering it was only a false alarm. “Great to hear! I was worried for a second!” one person said, while another wrote, “How cruel some people can be! Glad you’re safe and well.”

The death hoax comes a day after Denise, who is the mother of 1975 frontman Matty Healy, revealed she’d accidentally defecated on the streets of New York while wearing cream trousers. “I saw a couple of people turn and look at me,” she told the Guardian. “Now, although I’m not famous in New York, whenever Matty’s there I do get recognised as his mum, so I’m smiling and waving at them. I went back to the hotel room and bent over to get something out of the suitcase, and my husband said: ‘Do you realise you’ve shat yourself?’”

Denise married the millionaire artist in 2013 in the Algarve, Portugal, two years after meeting him at Soho’s Jet Black nightclub. At the time of their fairy tale wedding, Lincoln called “persuading Denise” to accept his marriage proposal his “most brilliant achievement.”

“I turned 40 last year and I have never met anyone like Denise, never been close to anyone like Denise, never loved anyone like I do Denise,” he gushed to the Mail Online. Denise divorced from her second husband, Benidorm star Tim Healy in 2012, after 24 years of marriage. Before this, she was married to David Easter for three years. The two split in 1985, with Denise later admitting she had ‘no chemistry’ with the Brookside actor.

ITV Loose Women stars fear for Nella Rose amid ‘vile’ fat-shaming and online abuse

Nella Rose has the support of today’s Loose Women panel, with the ITV show’s presenters all uniting to condemn the vile online abuse the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star has been subjected to

Today’s Loose Women panel of stars admitted their fears for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Nella Rose amid a barrage of online abuse aimed at the young YouTube.

The four women on the ITV panel today mused how famous women often have a tougher time on reality TV shows and highlighted some of the cruel comments being directed towards Nella on social media.

Nella, who was the victim of an “insensitive” Moonpig card stunt last week, angered many I’m A Celebrity viewers at the start of this year’s series of the ITV show, thanks to a misunderstanding with First Dates star Fred Sirieix. However, many of the Catfish presenter’s fans have since argued it’s time to give the young star a break.

Christine Lampard, Brenda Edwards, Judi Love and Jane Moore opened today’s edition of Loose Women with a discussion about Nella and women on reality TV in general, with a recent article arguing female contestants often have a tougher time on shows like I’m A Celebrity brought up.

Kicking off the chat, former X Factor star Brenda recalled her own time on a popular reality TV show and revealed she was often asked why people “don’t vote for women, older women and even Black women” on talent shows – noting she fell into all three categories during her time competing on the now-defunct singing competition.

“I think women do find it hard and Nella will have factors that make it even harder,” Judi added to the debate. “From what I’ve seen online, the fat-shaming, women have issues if they’re older and another layer [for Nella] is race. Unfortunately it looks like Nella won’t be given as much grace as other women.”

Judi continued: “So of the stuff we’ve seen on the internet and on social media is absolutely vile. From talking about her skin complexion to her shape, saying they gave her the easiest Bushtucker Trial, so yes, it does feel like there was an issue at the beginning between her and Fred and how she handled that – many of feel that wasn’t the right way – but people need to understand with any women that go [on these shows] there are other layers to their personality.

The panel discussed the fact Nella has suffered major losses and grief at such a young age, with Christine admitting she’s been loving watching Nella in the camp over recent days. Jane added she saw Nella as her winner after the first couple of episodes of this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity, with the entire panel in agreement that they worry about how Nella will feel when she leaves the jungle and reads some of the hateful comments written about her online.

Nella’s fans rejoiced over the weekend as the YouTuber avoided being the first celebrity to be voted out of camp by the public, with jockey Frankie Dettori being the one sent home early following hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly delivering the news to the star-studded camp. Some of Nella’s fans predict the tide is turning for the young star and she could survive longer than expected thanks to her loyal fanbase.

The former Coronation Street lost the weight in two months before her wedding to partner Lincoln Townely in 2013 using meal replacement shakes Lighter Life.

She shared the photo, which shows her leaning on a chair, wearing a coral swimsuit, smiling and posing, with matching sandals and red nails. Denise’s fans went wild for the holiday photo, with some familiar faces making their way to the comments section to cheer her on.

Friend and fellow TV star Carol Vorderman wrote: “Lols to the perching. Looking hot as hot Dens.” While pal, author Donna Ashworth added: “Now it feels like Christmas!”

Denise’s fan base couldn’t wait to compliment her either. One commented: “Looking fabulous Denise,” and another gushed: “Oooo lala look at this sexy mama whoo hoo!” A third wrote: “Looking gorgeous as usual!”

And while Denise was all smiles in the stunning snap, she was recently less impressed with long-standing foe Piers Morgan, after their ongoing feud kicked up another notch. Never one to be afraid of standing up for what she believes in, Denise commented on Morgan’s scathing review of Omid Scobie’s new book, Endgame. Scobie, who is said to be friends with Meghan Markle, caused uproar with the publication, which made claims about the Royal Family.

In his column in The Sun, Morgan said: “I can’t speak for Charles, Camilla, William, or Kate, but if two close members of my family had spent the past few years trashing the rest of us on global media platforms, the only way I’d want to spend Christmas with them is if they were human chestnuts roasting on my open fire.”

Denise went on to share a screenshot of the review with her followers, highlighting the section where Morgan makes a thinly veiled threat to Harry. She wrote: “Today’s piece by Piers Morgan. Yet again totally justifying Harry’s decision to move away and protect his wife.”

Her fans were equally disgusted, with some tagging the Met Police in the hope they would investigate the comments.
