Prince Harry and Meghan Markle LIVE: Couple’s blunder reveals why there’s ‘no trust’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to have been entirely cut off from all royal communications.

Meghan Markle’s latest blunder has shown the Royal Family does not trust her and Prince Harry with sensitive information, two royal experts have suggested.

The Duchess of Sussex last week faced a backlash after a close friend of the Duke, polo player Nacho Figueras, promoted the latest batch of products by her brand, American Riviera Orchard, mere hours before Trooping the Colour.

Commentator Richard Eden said: “Meghan has done these publicity stunts where she’s sent out good and encouraged friends and influencers to post about it.

“But you never know when they’re going to do it or what they’ll say so it’s completely out of your control.

“Yes, you get great publicity when these people say, ‘I got my latest jam,’ but it’s embarrassing if it’s just before Catherine’s appearance at Trooping. It can look very pointed.”

Fellow Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential guest Rebecca English added: “It is clumsy. You can’t expect them to have known that the announcement was coming out because people don’t tell them things because they don’t trust them.”

Harry and Meghan risk digging ‘deep hole’ for themselves

Royal author Christopher Andersen told Fox News: “Even if Harry was to throw himself at the King’s feet and beg for forgiveness – which Harry is not about to do – the best he could hope for would be crumbs from the royal table, and the sort of grudging acceptance that is currently being afforded to Harry’s disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew.

“If Harry and Meghan are determined to monetise their titles, then they’ll just be digging that hole deeper and deeper.”

Harry and Meghan left UK for their ‘sanity and physical safety.’

Writing in his memoir, Spare, Harry said: “Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. Instead, it had proved to be just another brief stop.

“When my wife and I fled this place, in fear for our sanity and physical safety, I wasn’t sure when I’d ever come back. That was January 2020. Now, fifteen months later, here I was, days after waking to thirty-two missed calls and then one short, heart-racing talk with Granny: Harry… Grandpa s gone.”

Inside Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s huge world tour: ‘Craving publicity’

Speaking to the Daily Express, Hilary Fordwich said: “I believe they are going to go on a world tour. It was frightfully awkward when they were in Africa recently, and the national anthem was played and Harry just stood there.

“The purport to care about people. If they really care about people they could do a lot for charities.

“Their world tour won’t be lowkey, with no publicity, and going to remote villages to raise money and help people. It won’t have impact, it won’t make a difference, and they will be craving the publicity everywhere they go.

“It is going to be high profile because that is what Meghan craves. Look how she has spent her entire life. Everything she has ever done is craving publicity. They hired three PR fitms when they went to LA.

“She craves the limelight. Hypocritcal Harry once said that when he hears the clicking of cameras it gives him chills because of what happened to his mother. Well stay out of the limelight then.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surrounded by ‘fake friends’ in Hollywood: ‘They prefer Kate!’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are surrounded by “fake friends” in Hollywood who are now ditching the Sussexes because they are “falling stars”, a royal expert tells the Daily Express.

Hilary Fordwich, a journalist and commentator based in the US, said: “Look at Gynweth Paltrow distancing herself from Meghan and Harry, she is the latest A-lister to come out in support of Kate.

“I don’t think Harry and Meghan realise that you need a USP, you need to be unique. Harry has nothing, the only thing that made him and Meghan unique was their links to the Royal Family.

“Everyone is out for themselves. People don’t want to be with a falling star, and I don’t think Harry and Meghan realise how transient these ‘friendships’ are.

“They are pseudo-friends. They only go with people they think are rising stars.”

King Charles feels he scored ‘own goal’ with Harry and Meghan decision

‌Speaking to The Mirror, expert Tom Quinn said: “King Charles feels he scored an own goal by kicking Meghan and Harry out of Frogmore cottage – the decision caused a huge amount of resentment – and Charles didn’t really think through what the consequences might be in terms of his grandchildren having no base in the UK. That without Frogmore, Meghan and Harry would be much less likely to bring their children to the UK.

“On the other hand, Charles has long been very sensitive about any criticism that non-working members of the Royal Family should enjoy the privileges of the slimmed-down team. His priority is making the monarchy seem value for money in a world where royal spending is always under the spotlight.

“Leaving Meghan and Harry to enjoy Frogmore Cottage for a few weeks or months each year was never going to happen – Charles just didn’t want to risk the fallout for allowing it.”

Harry and Meghan told to stop cashing in on royal titles

Amid reports that the Sussexes recently reached out to Kate, royal correspondent Russell Myers says Harry and Meghan need to stop talking about the royals.

He told Sky News Australia: “Members from the Royal Family have told Harry, if he wants a relationship with the rest of the family, then first and foremost, he has got to stop talking about them.

“They can’t go about making money off their associations with the royal family. They’re going to [have to] sort of realize, if they’re going to have a relationship with the rest of the Royal Family, they can’t go about trashing them

“Hopefully, they’ll see that the royal family are very united without them, and if they do want a relationship, going forward, they need to take the steam out of their relationship and out of the things they say sometimes.”

Prince Harry feels ‘increased Royal disapproval’ after Trooping the Colour snub

Prince Harry is reportedly reeling from the latest royal cold shoulder, a palace insider has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family has been fraught with tension following his departure from frontline Royal duties and subsequent bombshell remarks.

Now based in the US, Harry’s rift with key family members, particularly King Charles and Prince William, has been exacerbated by a fresh snub that has left him feeling the sting of their disapproval, claims a Royal commentator.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn suggested that being overlooked for an invitation for the second consecutive year would have dealt a significant blow to Harry.

Mr Quinn told The Mirror: “After missing his old friend the Duke of Westminster’s recent wedding and now being kept out of Trooping the Colour, Harry is feeling the increasing weight of royal disapproval.

“What’s really frustrating for Harry is that at one time he thought his absence from royal events would lead to increasing efforts to persuade him to attend but those days are long over.”

Prince Harry’s ‘closest cousin’ seen joking around with Prince William in new blow to Duke

Princess Beatrice, daughter of Prince Andrew, was seen sharing a laugh with Prince William on the second day of Royal Ascot.

This could potentially be a fresh sting for Prince Harry, as Beatrice is reportedly his ‘closest cousin,’ often spending time with him and Meghan Markle at their Californian residence.

Beatrice looked stunning in a pink floral dress, complemented by a matching floral headband.

Prince Harry exposed turning point in strained relationship with Prince William

In a striking revelation from his explosive book ‘Spare’, Prince Harry recounted how he came to view William as his “arch nemesis” during the sombre occasion of their grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral.

The book details a charged encounter between the princes shortly after the Sussexes’ explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, where even an intervention by their father, now King Charles, couldn’t ease the strain.

Harry doesn’t shy away from critiquing his brother’s looks either, writing: “I took it all in: his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me; his alarming baldness, more advanced than my own; his famous resemblance to Mummy, which was fading with time. With age.”

Harry also muses on the complexities of their relationship, stating: “In some ways he was my mirror, in some ways he was my opposite. My beloved brother, my arch nemesis, how had that happened?”

Prince Harry ‘can’t stay in hotels’ and ‘hates’ not having own home in UK anymore

Prince Harry is taking extraordinary measures to maintain his privacy during visits, according to a royal commentator.

The Duke of Sussex has previously revealed the great lengths he went to for clandestine meetings with Meghan Markle in the early stages of their romance in his memoir ‘Spare’.

Royal author Tom Quinn has recently spoken out about Harry’s ongoing security woes when he’s in Britain.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Mr Quinn said: “Harry is completely obsessed with the idea that any visit to the UK is fraught with security difficulties hence his continued legal action to challenge the UK government’s decision not to fund his security.”

He added: “Harry hates the idea of hotels last time he stayed in a hotel on a visit to the UK he had to leave and arrive virtually in disguise.

“The problems are even bigger if he plans to stay with friends as he’s convinced, he is always being watched by the media and that they will find out where he’s staying.”

Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘struggles’ to keep £12m Montecito mansion running

Maintaining Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s California mansion will cost the couple hundreds of thousands of pounds every year to upkeep, it has been claimed. Set on over five acres of land, the estate where they live in Montecito with Prince Archie, six and Princess Lilibet, three, is surrounded by gardens, a pool, and a tennis court.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex eventually relocated to Los Angeles after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020 and cutting ties with the Firm.

Owner of luxury real estate company Bramlett Residential, Eric Bramlett explained the toll it takes to run a luxury pad. Speaking to Fabulous Magazine, he said: “Managing a $14 million (£12 million) mansion like Harry and Meghan’s in Montecito takes a lot of work.”

Prince Harry exposes reasons behind leaving UK with Meghan Markle

Prince Harry opened up about his and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave the UK, stating that they did so “in fear for their sanity”.

In his first memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex delved into their move to America and why they felt compelled to do so.

He said: “When my wife and I fled this place, in fear for our sanity and physical safety, I wasn’t sure when I’d ever come back.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were warned over their emerging business strategy by a royal commentator who claimed there is “zero chance” the couple will ever reconcile with the Royal Family.

Key royal event made Prince Harry feel more ‘alone than ever’

Prince Harry looks “more alone” than ever in the wake of recent royal engagements, a royal commentator has claimed.

In particular, the commentator was referencing the recent week of Royal Ascot events where the Royal Family joined in unity and greeted each other lovingly at the racecourse.

Royal commentator, Daniela Elser wrote in news.com.au: “Has Harry ever looked more distant and more disconnected from his family and quite simply, more alone?”

“Not only have the Sussexes not, in years of trying, gotten anything even vaguely resembling a concession or admission of wrongdoing on the palace’s part, they are now having to watch on as the royal family has never looked more united – and more welcoming to outsiders.”

Meghan Markle should ‘seek new PR strategy’ after Royal Family ‘coincidences’

Meghan Markle should opt for a new PR strategy when it comes to her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, an expert tells Daily Express US.

The Duchess of Sussex soft launched her website in March, followed by a rollout of jams to friends and influencers before things went very quiet until this past Saturday – when a new product popped up on social media ahead of Trooping the Colour.

Friends of Meghan have said it was just a coincidence. It is not the first time an American Riviera Orchard update has come on the same day as a big Royal Family event.

In March, Meghan launched the brand just as Prince William arrived at the Diana Legacy Awards in London, where he was due to deliver a speech.

Press Box PR’s Lynn Carratt believes advisers should be telling Meghan to choose different launch days to avoid confusion.

Meghan Markle’s unusual request from Victoria Beckham was shut down by Palace

Meghan Markle wanted “free handbags from Victoria Beckham before snubbing her”, according to royal author Tom Bower.

Writing in his new book, The House of Beckham – Money, Sex and Power, Mr Quinn has shed light on the relationship – and fall-out – between the Beckhams and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Whilst engaged to Prince Harry, Meghan reportedly asked Victoria for free handbags and clothes but, according to the author, the request was “vetoed by the Palace for being against their rules”.

ITV Love Island’s Gemma Owen became ‘protective’ after brother was diagnosed with rare eye disease

Love Island’s Gemma Owen and her little brother James appeared on Loose Women to discuss his blindness. He was diagnosed with Stargardt disease when he was younger

Love Island’s Gemma Owen revealed she became ‘protective’ over her brother James after he was diagnosed with a rare eye disease.

A few years ago, footballer Michael Owen confirmed his son was diagnosed with Stargardt disease – which, according to the NHS, is a “rare inherited condition causing loss of central vision”. According to the National Eye Institute, vision loss usually starts in childhood — but some people with Stargardt disease don’t start to lose their vision until they’re adults.

James first realised something was wrong when he struggled to see the whiteboard at school. Appearing on Monday’s edition of Loose Women, Gemma and her brother discussed what it was like for him growing up and how the family navigated the difficult diagnosis.

Gemma said: “I think at the start it was it was a little bit of a struggle, you know, for the family and for James. I think he had quite a few of his early school years, you know, being quite frustrated and finding work challenging but I think he’s sort of really sort of got the grips with it and embracing it now.”Gemma Owen

When asked whether she felt protective, Gemma added: “I am the protective big sister and seeing his mates sort of having fun and games with him a little bit, I did get protective sometimes.” Their mum, Louise, was in the audience and admitted she didn’t cope very well with the diagnosis.

“To begin with, my husband’s [Michael Owen] very optimistic. The glass is half always half full,” she explained. “But for me, the thought of there not being any treatment at the moment or any cure was quite hard to deal with and also knowing that progressively the condition was going to get worse.”

Gemma said she had to step in as support as her mum wasn’t ‘strong’ about the situation. “I think my mum as any mum would be, I think she found it very emotional. And she, you know, when James came back from school and had a bad day. I think she just got upset. She got emotional and she wasn’t really, you know, that strong sort of figure.

“So that’s where I sort of tried my best to step in and sort of be there for him and sort of, you know, look at everything logically and try and work through it.”

In 2019, former footballer Michael opened up about his son’ condition during a chat with The Times. He said: “He will never be a footballer. My son’s got an eye condition. I’ve never said this. I don’t want a big headline. Clinically, he’s blind. He’s got Stargardt disease, a degeneration of his retina. I used to go and watch him and b*****k him about his positioning.”

“He can’t see the ball until it’s five yards away. As much as every father wants their son to play, it is almost a relief to me,” he added at the time.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rumoured world tour will be for “publicity” rather than noble causes, a royal expert tells the Daily Express.

Speaking to the Daily Express, she said: “I believe they are going to go on a world tour. It was frightfully awkward when they were in Africa recently, and the national anthem was played and Harry just stood there.

Real reason Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made ‘clumsy’ Princess Kate blunder revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were severely criticised by royal experts over the timing of their latest move which coincided with Princess Kate’s first public appearance after months at Trooping the Colour.

The Princess of Wales warmed the hearts of the nation last Saturday when she appeared alongside the rest of the royals to celebrate King Charles’s second official birthday after she announced her attendance and gave a health update the day before.

But just hours before Kate’s reappearance, Nacho Figueras, a polo player and friend of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted pictures of the latest products he got sent from Meghan’s new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard – a jar of raspberry jam and dog biscuits.

Now another group of royal experts has slammed the timing of the move, dubbing it “clumsy” and “embarrassing” – with one suggesting that Meghan is to blame.

The Mail’s Diary editor Richard Eden told the Palace Confidential: “The problem with their [Harry and Meghan’s] marketing strategy, is that Meghan’s done these publicity stunts essentially, where she sent out goods and encouraged friends and influencers to post about them. But you never know when they’re going to do it or what they’re going to say, so it’s completely out of your control.

“Yes you get good publicity when they ‘I’ve got Meghan’s jam’ but it’s very embarrassing if it’s just before Catherine’s reappearance at Trooping.”

She said: “It is clumsy. You can’t expect them to have known that that announcement was coming because people don’t tell them things, because they don’t trust them.

Meghan Markle soft launched her latest business venture earlier this year by landing a new Instagram page for the brand, as well as a website with a waiting list for it.

Since March, the only update on American Riviera Orchard was the debut of the first product to be sold under the brand’s name, a jar of strawberry jam, given to 50 influencers to taste test, and most recently the reveal of her jar of raspberry jam and dog biscuits.

Meanwhile, questions regarding the brand’s official launch have been increasing recently, with one royal commentator even claiming the duchess has delayed the launch because she is struggling to staff her new business.

Prince Harry ‘running out of time’ to return to Royal Family, expert claims

Prince Harry is “running out of time” to re-join the Royal Family and would need to act quickly while his father is still King as his brother Prince William would “never” let him back, a royal expert has said

Prince Harry is “running out of time” to rejoin the Royal Family and needs to act while King Charles is still on the throne, according to a royal expert.

Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor, suggests that Harry would need to make this decision while his 75-year-old father is in power, as his brother Prince William may not be as accommodating.

Eden believes that Harry was initially included in the King’s plan for a “slimmed-down monarchy”, with the expectation that the younger prince would continue public engagements with his family. However, in 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step back from their roles as working royals and relocated to Montecito, California.

Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, Eden stated: “If Harry wants to come back at any stage, he needs to do it while his father is still King because I really do think that when Prince William is King, would he even take the calls from his brother? ” He added: “Can you imagine? I really can’t see him letting Harry come back and have a role again, they are irrelevant now, they are not wanted as part of the monarchy.”

When asked by host Jo Elvin if it’s a case of “never say never” because Harry and William are family, Eden responded that it would require a “radical change” for William to welcome his brother back into the royal fold. The relationship between Harry and William has reportedly deteriorated over the years, with a series of misunderstandings leading to the current ‘feud’.

Tensions between Princes William and Harry reportedly started back in 1998 when they were students at Eton, with William wanting to keep his distance from Harry. In the bombshell memoir ‘Spare’, Harry reveals that William instructed him to pretend they didn’t know each other, reports the Express.

The rift apparently deepened over time, with Harry disclosing in his book that William cautioned him against rushing into marriage with Meghan, calling it “too fast” and “too soon”. The situation intensified, according to Harry, when a dispute about Meghan in 2019 led to William physically attacking him, grabbing his collar and throwing him to the ground.

The Royal drama hit a peak in 2020 when Harry and Meghan dramatically stepped back from their Royal duties. While Harry has made a few visits back to the UK, it’s been suggested that Meghan might not set foot on British soil again.

King Charles needs ‘chance’ to ‘create memories’ with Archie, Lili amid cancer

King Charles is longing to reconnect with Prince Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet.

His Majesty, who is reportedly planning a visit to America, has his heart melt at the thought of reconnecting with his estranged grandkids.

Royal expert Jennie Bond reveals: “Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings. Little people who are part of your bloodline and have had nothing to do with family quarrels and tensions.”

She tells OK! magazine: “So I can imagine that the King very much wants the chance to get to know Archie and Lilibet and to create some memories for them.”

Jennie adds: “I fervently hope that Harry will not follow Meghan’s example of remaining obdurately estranged from her father and most of her family.”

This comes as Royal author Tom Quinn speaks about King Charles’ attempts to visit grandchildren in America.

Tom told Mirror: “Charles has had discussions about an official visit to the United States at some time in the future, and there is no doubt if it goes ahead he would build in time to visit his youngest son and his grandchildren, but there are mountains of planning to be overcome before that becomes even a remote possibility.”

He continued: “King Charles has privately visited many other countries – he made an unpublicised visit to Transylvania for example to check up on his rental properties – so it’s certainly possible that he would make a discreet private visit to Harry and the children in California. He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lily will not remember him as the warm friendly grandfather he wants to be.”

Meghan Markle ‘irritated Victoria Beckham had considerably more wealth before falling out’

Meghan Markle was concerned to discover that Victoria Beckham ranked higher than her in the social pecking order and had mansions and private jets at her fingertips, a new biography says

Meghan Markle was “irritated” when she found out Victoria Beckham is richer than her, a new biography says.

Tom Bower’s new book – The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power – sheds light on the relationship between the Beckhams and the Sussexes – and where it all went wrong. The former journalist says that the Duchess of Sussex was annoyed when she found out the Beckhams had “considerably more wealth” than herself.

Cracks started to show in the relationship between the famous families in 2018, according to Bower who says that although the Beckhams did secure an invite to Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, they were not invited to the wedding dinner. He also says in spring last year, it became clear that the friendship between the couples was on the rocks when the Sussexes were not on the guest list for Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding – but Prince William and Kate Middleton were.

In the biography – which was released June 20 – Bower says that Meghan had ranked herself above the Beckhams in the social pecking order, and was fuming when she discovered that, despite her place in the Royal Family, Victoria actually scored higher in terms of wealth and fame. He explains: “In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame. As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.”

Bower continues: “She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself. They owned five homes, had constant access to private jets, invitations to sail on yachts and much more money. And she was soon to be a duchess.”

Things soured between the women after a report leaked that Victoria had offered Meghan makeup advice, the book says

Bower describes how Victoria made considerable effort to be friends with Meghan – despite the fact the Suits star “put on airs” when they first met – because of the longstanding relationship between the Beckhams, Prince Harry and Prince William.

According to the biography, Victoria kindly offered Meghan tips on where to find the best beauty spots in London – but the relationship between the two women soured when The Sun reported that Victoria had given Meghan makeup advice and the Duchess accused the former Spice Girl of leaking the story.

Harry and Meghan raised more than a few eyebrows earlier this month when it was revealed that the couple wanted to send their children to a ‘prestigious’ private school with a leading royal author exclusively revealing to The Mirror that the pair’s plans are likely to have one ‘major disadvantage.’

With the ex-Royals reportedly eyeing up a school in the heart of Montecito, the luxury, celebrity Southern Californian enclave where they reside, they were recently called out as ‘frauds’ when fees of £40,000 per year were revealed. Royal commentator, Lee Cohen, slammed the pair for their potential plans, saying: “Their supposed commitment to progressive causes is nothing but a façade. If they’re willing to indulge in this epitome of elitism, there is no advocating for equality.”

Speaking to GB News at the time, Cohen questioned how Meghan and Harry could “justify” their decision to look at private schools when “so many families struggle to afford even the basic necessities,” saying: “Sending their children to such a prestigious institution completely exposes the frauds that Harry and Meghan are. By perpetuating the very systems of privilege that they claim to expose.”

Following the educational furore, leading royal author and expert, Tom Quinn, has exclusively revealed that the pair’s plans for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will most likely have one ‘major disadvantage.’

Said Quinn: “Harry and Meghan have more than enough money to afford the best schools in California and for all Meghan’s desire to be seen to be helping the poor and the marginalised, she has no intention of providing anything less than the best money can buy for her children.”

He continued: “For the children of celebrities across America, elite schools are the norm – and there is no doubt a private education brings huge advantages as it does in the UK, in terms of connections with other well-heeled and well-connected children.”

However, Quinn was also quick to highlight that the decision would have one major disadvantage: “The disadvantage as we have seen with so many children of celebrities is that it can create expectations for adult life that are not easily achieved – just because your parents are famous doesn’t mean you are going to be famous, but dealing with that can be difficult.”

Harry attended prestigious schools, including Ludgrove preparatory school in Ludgrove, Wokingham, before following his older brother Prince William to Eton College in Berkshire. Meghan attended LA-based private Catholic school, Immaculate Heart High School, after her father won the lottery in 1990, allowing him to fund the nearly £13,000-a-year fees.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s £12million mansion costs hundreds of thousands to upkeep, according to an expert. Thankfully, the Sussexes are not strapped for cash

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “struggle” to run their £12 million mansion, according to an expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex splashed out on their nine-bedroom California dream home after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. The sprawling mansion boasts pretty much every facility you could ever wish for, including a library, office, spa, gym, game room, wine cellar – and 16 baths!

Set on 5.4acres of land, the Sussexes’ estate – where they live with six-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet – is surrounded by stunning gardens, as well as a tennis court, tea house, children’s cottage, pool, and five-car garage. However, according to an expert, maintaining their lavish lifestyle surprisingly comes with quite a lot of work and will cost the couple hundreds of thousands of pounds every year to upkeep.

Eric Bramlett – a realtor and owner of luxury real estate company Bramlett Residential – has shed light on the financial and physical toll running a pad like the Sussexes’ would take on the couple. Speaking to Fabulous, he said: “Managing a $14 million (£12 million) mansion like Harry and Meghan’s in Montecito takes a lot of work.”

Bramlett added that the Sussexes’ mansion would come with “high-operating costs”, probably requiring 10-15 full-time members of staff, such as housekeepers, a house manager, private chefs, groundsmen, and security. The expert said that as well as staff salaries, the couple would also have to foot the bill for utilities, landscaping, maintenance, and security – which could total up to hundreds of thousands every year, not including the cost of big renovations and repairs.

Bramlett continued: “It’s like running a small boutique hotel with residential service. The costs pile up quick, but it comes with luxury living.”

Thankfully, money is one thing the Sussexes do not need to worry about. According to reports, the couple have a combined net worth of £48 million, despite stepping down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and being forced to repay the taxpayer costs for the renovation of Frogmore Cottage, their former Windsor home.

Since moving to the US, the hardworking duo have managed to secure a number of lucrative deals, with the likes of Netflix, publisher Penguin Random House, and Spotify.

Before Meghan married into the Royal Family, she was worth an estimated £3.5 million. The Duchess’ starring role as Rachel Zane in the long-running legal drama Suits saw her earn a jaw-dropping £37,000 per episode.

Harry is also pretty set in terms of financial stability. In 1994, The Queen Mother put away a generous £19 million into a trust fund for her great-grandchildren, including Harry and William. According to a report by The Guardian, the brothers split £6 million of the trust when they were 21, with Harry bagging most of it to “compensate for not becoming sovereign”.

The news outlet also reported that Harry will get his hands on more of the trust fund on his 40th birthday. According to Forbes, the late Princess Diana left her boys almost £8 million after tax, which would see them each receive around £340,000 a year, every year after they turned 25.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the Royal Family four years ago before moving to Montecito, California, and now the Duke of Sussex has reflected on their move

Prince Harry has reflected on his decision to move to America as he said he and Meghan Markle left the UK “in fear for their sanity”.

The couple stepped down from the Royal Family back in 2020 before creating a new life for themselves in Montecito, California. They’ve since opened up about life behind Palace walls and admitted it wasn’t always easy.

In his debut memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex reflected on their move to America and revealed why they felt they had to go. Writing about a visit to Frogmore Cottage, he said: “How beautiful it all is, I thought. And also how sad.

“Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. Instead it had proved to be just another brief stop.” Harry had returned to Frogmore Cottage after Prince Philip’s funeral.

He added: “When my wife and I fled this place, in fear for our sanity and physical safety, I wasn’t sure when I’d ever come back. That was January 2020. Now, fifteen months later, here I was, days after waking to thirty-two missed calls and then one short, heart-racing talk with Granny: Harry… Grandpa s gone.”

Harry has since made a number of return visits to the UK. Most recently, he visited London to take part in various engagements related to the Invictus Games

However, Meghan decided not to join her husband. The Duchess of Sussex has made very few return trips to the UK since stepping down from the Royal Family.

Her last return trip was in 2022 for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Sussexes brought their two children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – over for the special occasion.

Author Omid Scobie has previously written about Meghan’s decision not to come back to the UK. In his book Endgame, Omid said Meghan “never wants to set foot again in England.” He claimed she didn’t want to “dive back into the soap opera of the court”
