Loose Women’s Denise Welch has confirmed she will be popping up in Emmerdale this month – making her the first actress to have appeared in all four of the big UK soaps

Loose Women star Denise Welch has confirmed she has landed a role in Emmerdale.

The 66-year-old actress is shown in first look images released by the iconic ITV soap that is set in the Yorkshire Dales. Her character Heidi will be linked to soap villain Tom King as he finally appears in court over his domestic abuse of wife Belle Dingle. But will he be sent down or will he get away with it?

Viewers will have to tune in to find out, but giving fans a few spoilers ahead of her upcoming role, Denise excitedly told the audience and her fellow Loose Women panellists: “I’m going to be in Emmerdale!”

She said: “It’s a one-off one hour special and it’s the first time Emmerdale have ever done it. And for those of you who are fans of Emmerdale, there is a very powerful year-long story of domestic abuse. Which of course, appealed to me when I knew I’d be part of it because of our Facing It Together campaign, and this is a culmination of that story.”

Denise continued: “The episode takes place exclusively between the court and the jury and I am one of the head’s of the jury called Heidi. Obviously, I can’t say what the outcome is, but it’s a very, very powerful episode and some of the lines are taken from true cases. Refuge have seen it and they’re thrilled with how it’s been depicted so it was incredible to be a part of it, and that’s on I think December 19.”

Landing the role is a career milestone for Denise – who has already appeared in Coronation Street, EastEnders and Hollyoaks. Her role in Emmerdale apparently makes her a ‘CHEE’. She gushed: “So I’ve now been in all four soaps.” which earned a round of cheers from the audience.

Explaining what it means, Denise added: “‘I saw on social media that I’m now a CHEE and that’s because it’s quite something in America to be an EGOT, which is the winner of an Emmy, a Grammy, and Oscar and a Tony. So not quite that level, but Corrie, Hollyoaks, EastEnders, and Emmerdale.”

Though there are some stars who have appeared in multiple British soaps, Denise is thought to be the first star to have appeared in all four of the current big ones. An actress from the age of 12, Denise got her big break on ITV series Soldier, Soldier in 1993, but it was her role as Rovers barmaid Natalie Barnes that made her a household name.

She played Natalie from 1997 to 2000. Her time in Corrie saw her have an affair with Kevin Webster while he was married to Sally, marry Des Barnes and later become the landlady of the Rovers Return. Her exit saw her flee Wetherfield pregnant with Rovers potman Vinny Sorrel’s baby. But Vinny was having an affair with her sister Debs and they ran off together to start a new life. In 2001, it was revealed Natalie had given birth to a daughter called Laura and was living in the Cotswolds with her cousin Helen.

In real life, Denise was pregnant with her son Louis, who is also an actor. She is also mum to Matty Healy, frontman of rock band The 1975. Denise later went on to star as transgender character Kyle’s mum, Alison Slater, in BBC’s EastEnders in 2016. And she played Trish Minniver in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks from 2021 to 2022.

Former boxer Barry McGuigan was a big hit with I’m A Celeb viewers during his stint in the Aussie jungle this year, before his exit on Thursday. But many viewers didn’t know he boasted a famous fan back home – none other than telly host Eamonn Holmes. Eamonn took to Instagram to root for Barry, posting a snap of the ex-boxer captioned ‘Vote Barry.’ He wrote: “We’ve known each other for 45 years and are best friends. Hope you can help keep my pal Barry in the Jungle.”

This show of camaraderie from Eamonn comes hot on the heels of his ex-spouse Ruth Langsford’s visit to the I’m A Celeb campsite to support her Loose Women colleagues GK Barry and Jane Moore, with the latter being the first to get the boot. During his jungle jaunt, featherweight champ Barry, aged 63, has won over both viewers and fellow campmates with his heartfelt stories and charm. On Tuesday 4 December, the campmates were treated to a night at the Jungle Arms pub, complete with nibbles, drinks, and a karaoke session where Barry’s performance of Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl left everyone in awe.

One admirer exclaimed on X: “One thing about the jungle arms it always makes you realise the least obvious one can sing, Barry I love you man” while another chimed in with “who knew Barry McGuigan could sing so well #imaceleb.”

McFly’s Danny Jones also stunned the crowd with a rendition of Bon Jovi, sparking calls from fans for a potential duet down the line. “When they leave the jungle Barry and Danny need to release a single together,” one viewer penned. Earlier in the series, Barry shared a poignant story about losing his cherished daughter Danika to cancer. She tragically passed away five weeks after being diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in 2019.

Speaking to his fellow campmates, Barry revealed: “She had leukaemia, when I was making [The Boxer] with Daniel Day Lewis, three weeks from the end I had to leave because she’d been diagnosed with leukaemia, they thought she wasn’t going to get better but she fought back and she won it. She had two years of chemo.”

After overcoming her initial illness and pursuing a career in acting, Nika was sadly diagnosed with cancer again in her early thirties. Barry confided in Jane Moore about Nika’s second cancer diagnosis, revealing that she had been experiencing “pains in her tummy but she was making the movie, she put it off and went to the doctor, called us all in. Stage 4 bowel cancer, 5 weeks, 5 weeks she died.”

The set of ITV’s Loose Women was gatecrashed by some famous names, including one of the most famous musicians on the planet, during a show ‘first’.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joined the panel for its first-ever 25-hour Talkathon to urge the nation to ‘get talking’ about mental health issues. The event, which started on Thursday, December 5 and concluded during the usual show on Friday, December 6, was part of Loose Women’s 25th birthday celebrations and in support of ITV and STV’s Britain Get Talking campaign, which has sparked over 200 million conversations so far.

Ruth Langsford brought the Talkathon to an end on Friday by thanking everyone who had supported the event which was broadcast on ITVX between the launch show and the finale. There had been a rolling list of presenters and guests including Chris Martin.

On Thursday evening the panel was joined by Charlene White, who announced she had some surprise guests – before returning with Chris Martin and chef Jamie Oliver. Both also shared their own advice on what they do to look after their own mental health.

Earlier in the show, Olivia Attwood Dack joined Christine Lampard, Kelle Bryan and Katie Piper to share the wise saying her nan and mum passed on and explains how the meaning of love has changed for her over the years: “Never date the wrong person because you can fall in love with anyone.”

First thing on Friday morning, Loose Woman panellist Coleen Nolan swapped studios to join fellow ITV Daytime show Good Morning Britain, as hosts Kate Garraway and Rob Rinder shared their support for the Loose Women.

Speaking to them live, Coleen shared how she is finding the epic challenge so far. Responding to Kate asking “You must be shattered?” Coleen joked: “I actually don’t know where I am. I am so tired but I am so happy to see fresh faces!”

Coleen also revealed how the Talkathon has allowed her to get to know her fellow Loose Women even better, she said: “Because there has been no real restrictions over the 25-hour period, and we’re after the watershed, we’ve been able to have longer on topics and we’ve really opened up a lot about ourselves. Janet was really surprising. She really opened up and normally she is quite guarded with it, but she let the guard down.”

Coleen continued: “Men do find it hard to talk and we’ve discussed every topic possible over the last 20 odd hours and already the reaction has been really good.”

Discussing the unexpected visit and support from Chris Martin and Jamie Oliver, Coleen said of Chris: “He writes things he has been worried about or things he may be angry about and he writes them all down and gets it all out of his system and then he can carry on his day or go to sleep at night because he doesn’t keep it all here [in his head], he writes it all down. He’s actually amazing.”

Social media star GK Barry has amassed millions of fans in just four years, and she may soon have millions more – if she manages to make it to the final on Sunday night and be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

GK – real name Grace Keeling – rose to fame in 2020 after posting funny skits and commentary on TikTok, building an audience of 3.6 million on the video-sharing platform.

But fame wasn’t always on the vision board for the 25-year-old, with GK telling The Mirror it was “an entirely accidental career for me” as she hadn’t expected to go viral with her videos.

The star, from Cambridge, also has 1.5 million listeners on her YouTube podcast, Saving Grace, where she interviews celebs and influencers.

However, despite her success, she insists she was terrified about launching herself into the world of internet entertainment. She explained: “I called myself GK Barry because I didn’t want people from school or university finding my videos. I was embarrassed about it at first.

“It’s ironic – when you’re small, a lot of people will judge you for the content you are putting out. But as you start getting bigger, all those people who judged you want to become your best friend.”

GK made her first big TV appearance in August on Loose Women. Born in 1999, the year the show began, she was one of its youngest panellists. Despite talk of a feud between her and Frankie Bridge, she says the gang are the “nicest people ever”.

GK adds: “I never thought they’d have someone like me on there. And I was so nervous when I first started because I thought, ‘My God, what if no one gets my sense of humour?’ The audience is very different to people who watch my podcast, but it has been received so well and everyone on there is lovely.”

Last night’s I’m A Celeb episode saw Richard quiz GK on her overnight fame and social media success. He asked: “So Grace did you go from working in Costa to all of a sudden being able to buy a house?”

The podcaster replied: “Yeah.” Continuing, Richard queried: “So you didn’t go from poor, poor, poor, a little less poor, a bit more money, you went from poor to rich?”

To which GK answered: “Yeah, pretty quick. And I remember being like, ‘I’m making enough money to buy a new car now’ and I remember a Porsche drove past me as I had that thought.

“I remember thinking, ‘I could buy a Porsche and it would not be an issue.’ I went to the centre, I was looking at an old one that was cheaper, but the one that I wanted was next to it and it was so nice.

“I rang my accountant and I was like, ‘Can I do it?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah’, so I bought it.”

The social media personality, and now TV star, may see her fame and success grow even further if crowned Queen of the Jungle.

James Martin left Loose Women star Charlene White looking sheepish as she admitted she “couldn’t believe” he brought up one work aspect she struggles with.

Charlene White was gobsmacked when celebrated cook James Martin probed her about her latest literary venture, No Place Like Home, on a fresh instalment of James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

The episode saw Charlene, 44, famed for her role on Loose Women, engage in lively banter with host and chef James, 52, while he whipped up some scrumptious dishes.

But the tables turned when Charlene had to chide the esteemed chef after he poked fun at her for not sticking to deadlines with her new book.

James remarked: “You’re used to so many deadlines in journalism, a little bird told me because I know the publishers quite well, that you struggle with the deadlines?”

Caught off guard, Charlene replied: “I can’t believe you’ve brought that up!” She then confessed: “Erm… I missed three deadlines, yes, they said: ‘Can you tell Charlene we need the book in ten days or we’re cancelling the contract!’”

Ever the joker, James quipped: “It’s amazing how that suddenly works, isn’t it?” This led Charlene to concede: “Yeah, it’s amazing that when you say you’re going to do something, people expect you to produce it!”

She disclosed that thanks to her “journalism brain” she thrives under the pressure of an imminent deadline, which indeed fueled her writing sprint, reports the Express.

Known for her forthrightness on Loose Women, Charlene has now taken a deeper plunge into personal revelations with her new memoir, No Place Like Home. In it, she contemplates on the idea of ‘home’.

Charlene, born in London with roots tracing back to Jamaica, spoke about having a connection to both places, explaining: “I was raised in a Jamaican household in London. So, although I’ve never lived in Jamaica, I’ve been going back and forth my entire life, so that also feels like home to me. There’s space in my heart for both.”

Mariella started off by saying: “I just think it’s madness. You know for a fact no matter what position you take in your child’s life if you intrunch yourself too deeply they are going to do the opposite thing anyway.”

She continued: “How on earth would the inclusion of someone in family life be worth the jeopardy of not talking to your child anymore, I just can’t imagine it.”

Coleen also shared her opinion as she explained: “I think it is important for parents to let their children find out for themselves and it might work out and they spend the rest of their lives together but it might be that they end up heartbroken and that’s when as a parent you step in.”

Talk soon turned to how divorced parents handle those type of situation and Ruth went on to admit: “I think it’s very selfish when you hear parents say well if they are divorced then I’m not coming to your wedding if he’s coming or if she is there and I just think it’s so selfish isn’t it because it is their day.”

Mariella jumped in and said: “That’s a whole other subject isn’t it? How to divorce well.”

Ruth made a cheeky quip at her recent split from Eamonn as she replied: “Oh tell me about it.” The remark took everyone by surprise as the show cut to a break, Ruth announced: “Anyway funnily it’s now time for a break”

Fans of Love Island All Stars were stunned to discover Marcel Somerville and Olivia Hawkins had been dumped from the South African villa. However, many have taken to social media to predict what their next move as a couple might be – and it’s not looking good for the pair.

The couple left hand in hand after the shock public vote on Wednesday. They even told Maya Jama they were happy to be leaving together, with Liv hinting she could be ready for her first boyfriend. Their exit comes after the former Blazin Squad star had pulled Luca Bish about his apparent flirty behaviour with Liv. The former fishmonger, 25, is looking for love on the show again after coming second on Love Island in 2022 with ex, Gemma Owen.

He was initially coupled up with Liv, 29, before recoupling with bombshell Grace Jackson. But prior to the recoupling, Luca and Liv shared an intense stare down as they both signalled their attraction to each other. Luca has since denied there was any chemistry between the pair.

As the pair spoke to each other, Ekin-Su asked Curtis: “I just want to know if you thought it’s going too slow or fast…” Curtis responded: “I don’t think we’re going too fast or too slow, I’m a one woman man and I wanna throw myself into this with no barriers…”

Ekin then added: “I’m invested in basically you, I’m being vulnerable with you, I can’t give that to another man, maybe I am closed off…that’s how I feel.” Curtis quickly agreed, saying: “Yeah, I’d say I’m closed off, it’s nice!” before Ekin-Su laughed and told him: “Shut up and kiss me!”

Emmerdale aired some big scenes tonight as Aaron Dingle confronted Anthony Fox, who is set to be murdered by an as yet unknown person in shocking scenes

Emmerdale have seemingly ‘revealed’ Anthony Fox’s killer.

A flashforward on the ITV soap has confirmed evil Anthony will die – but we are yet to find out who will kill him. Viewers know that he abused his own daughter Ruby, devastatingly leading to the birth of her daughter Steph.

Earlier this week, viewers watched on as his son-in-law Caleb Miligan threatened him after learning what he did to his wife. Horrified, he pointed a gun at Anthony and got a confession out of him over what he’d done to Ruby.

The gun had gone off, with Cain Dingle seeing Anthony fleeing, proving that no one had died in the gunshot scenes. Anthony had told Caleb that his half brother Cain and Ruby had had a brief affair, but he didn’t reveal this to his sibling as they came face to face.

For a moment, it looked like Caleb was going to kill Cain for what he did with Ruby but he couldn’t fire the gun and both managed to leave the scene unscathed. Aaron Dingle had also seemingly worked out what might have happened when he noted that Ruby was scared of her father and in big scenes tonight, he took matters into his own hands.

Tonight, as the episode ended, Anthony was seen approaching the depot, where Aaron stops him. With it seemingly hinting that Aaron could be the murderer, as he tells Anthony: “I think it’s about time me and you had a little chat,” fans have another idea.

One fan mused on Reddit: “I don’t think Aaron will be the killer, I don’t think Emmerdale would reveal the killer that way. My prediction for tomorrow is… Aaron becomes threatening with Anthony..trying to get him to confess to what he did to Ruby.

“After a lot of refusal, Anthony finally admits it and Aaron is disgusted. They are both unaware Steph entered the depot (this is plausible as she works there) and she has heard the conversation. She sees red and attacks Anthony. Aaron helps her cover it up.”

Another suggested: “OK who kills Anthony. Caleb. Steph or Ruby #emmerdale,” whilst one shared: “It’s gotta be Steph.” A fourth wrote: “Predictions Caleb hasn’t shot Anthony, gun went off no injury. Strictly star Giovanni Pernice says he lost all his friends in the aftermath of the Amanda Abbington allegations, saying: “Nobody wanted to be seen with me.”

Speaking on the first night of his tour on Monday night in High Wycombe, Giovanni says how everyone shunned him – leaving him heartbroken. “I felt like the world collapsed….I didn’t have anybody around me,” he said. “All the people that were supposed to be my friend disappeared.”

He says how he “felt alone”, adding: “Nobody wanted to see me, they were like ‘oh you can’t be with him’.

Giovanni had been accused of being a bully by his dance partner. An internal BBC investigation later upheld six of 17 complaints against him but not those of physical aggression. Before the allegations, Gio said he felt “like I was on the top of my game.” He says: “I was untouchable, was a superhero….but fate did have different plans for me.”

But he says how he got through the ordeal by remaining positive. “I always had a voice in my head, saying ‘don’t worry….we know that all of this is going to finish. One day you’ll be back on top and you will feel again.” He says how he took great solace in his musical “idol”.

He added: “There was always one voice. My idol here, Freddie (Mercury ). He would say to me, ‘Giovanni , don’t worry. Whatever happen. Remember the show has to go on.’

The Italian professional, 34, has previously insisted he was merely a “strict teacher” but was never a bully to the Sherlock star, 50.

He added at the end of last year: “Bully is a big word and there’s a difference between being a bully and caring about what you do. “I’m glad 11 allegations have been thrown out. At the beginning there were very serious allegations, for instance threatening her or abusing her, and all of this has been taken out.

“I’m a strict teacher. I said it myself. I care about my job. I’m very competitive.”

Amanda has since told how in the year since she made the complaints she has been accused of accused of “being a liar, a ­troublemaker and of being ‘mad and unstable’”.

While she labelled what Bonnie is doing as ‘dehumanising’, the Never Mind the Buzzcocks star made light of the situation and decided to focus on the men – and in particular – their socks and ‘hairy legs’ which can be seen in the controversial clips of them waiting outside the bedroom before bedding Bonnie.

“What is wrong with men?,” Katherine asks in her latest Instagram reel focused on the scandal. “This brings me to Bonnie Blue. I think as much as people see Bonnie Blue and what she has set out to do as dehumanising or disgusting or they want to slut shame her, I was transfixed on this queue of men just looking like f***ing idiots in their socks and boxers.

“With their dumb hairy legs just sticking out in this corridor just like waiting like ‘here I am going to do 45 seconds in her, it’s gonna be the best’ and like waiting for hours to do that? They’re just like… I’ve never seen someone so desperate for 45 seconds of a thing. Ick.”

“And of lot of these will have a wife at home who absolutely loves them. For sure, they might not have given them a b***job for a few years and that’s sad in your marriage but like, what are her reasons? I don’t know. Maybe she’s dating the kind of man who will take your adult son with him to go f*** a 25-year-old stranger.”

Despite the physically exhausting escapade, Bonnie assured she didn’t experience any negative side effects the following day. She told The Sun: “I was expecting to wake up today needing to take painkillers – but I actually haven’t whatsoever. And I’m the first to usually take if I’ve got a bit of a headache. I was expecting to be sore but I’m not, which is good cause that just means I can do this more often.”

Speaking on the details of the extreme stunt, it was reported that Bonnie only took two to three minute breaks during the 12-hour event. After, Bonnie claimed that she was feeling fine but admitted that if she kept at the same pace as she during the first few hours she would’ve eventually struggled.

Bonnie completed the intimate acts at a £15million ($18million) estate, which belongs to convicted English fraudster Edward Ormus Sharrington Davenport. As the participants entered the room, they were handed a blue ski mask to conceal identities while security guards on the door checked ID and confirmed names were on an approved list.
