Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has teased a possible return to BBC soap Eastenders – 24 years after leaving Walford.

From 1997 to 1999, the 58-year-old presenter starred as businesswoman Annie Palmer but, earlier this year, revealed she quit over “rubbish” storylines.

However, with the soaps recent storylines putting viewers into a spin from Lola Pearce’s tragic death to the return of Cindy Beale – Nadia might be swayed to head back to Albert Square as Annie.

On Friday’s episode, Kaye Adams asked Nadia if she would consider returning to the show, to which she responded: “If I thought I was going to have huge fun I would.

“You know I’d go back for a few weeks and then I would have fun but I’d have to know that I was having fun.”

It comes after the BBC rubbished claims over a possible axe of the soap after it was reported the show’s viewings figures had apparently taken a “nosedive”.

It was recently claimed that fans have been “switching off” due to its storylines as the BBC programme “struggles to bring in a million viewers”.

But, official viewing figures show that almost 18 million viewers have streamed the hit show in the last two weeks.

The BBC released a statement reading: “EastEnders episodes are made live to the audience at 6am every morning on BBC iPlayer giving the audience the choice to watch when and where they choose, so when episodes are moved to a different day, or channel, due to a live sporting event it is no surprise that this is reflected in the regular overnight audience.

On Friday afternoon, Loose Women’s Kaye Adams discussed the possibility of the end of a soap era with her co-stars.

Panellist Kaye Adams said: “One paper said today it could be the end of ‘Enders. Apparently, fans of the iconic TV show are turning off.

“We could be watching its final years, which is a little bit drastic because it’s hugely popular.”

The last year has seen a number of gripping storylines from Mick Carter’s emotional exit from the soap over Christmas to Lola Pearce’s tragic death.

The upcoming Christmas storyline has had fans talking too. A special flash-forward episode teased a death of a male Walford resident in February, with the identity of the deceased and the details around the death remaining a mystery.

The flash-forward episode teased a killing over the festive period as six iconic characters were seen towering over a body in The Queen Vic.

On Christmas Day, it has been revealed one male character will be killed off in dramatic scenes – but viewers will have to wait and see who is set to die.

Matt Willis revealed his wife Emma Willis sometimes gets ‘triggered’ by some of his actions as she’s reminded of past addictions.

The Busted singer opened up about his struggles with booze and drug addiction in his documentary called Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction earlier this year.

The incredibly raw programme saw the 40-year-old singer discuss the pressure his problems put on his family, including his wife, Emma.

In the early 00s, Matt spent a few years checking in and out of rehab but Emma was determined to stick by him through thick and thin

The star relapsed in 2016 when he was offered cocaine at a party. He quickly spiralled from being given a single line to taking six grams a day in his recording studio while hiding the relapse from Emma, telling her he was writing a new album.

And now, Matt is determined to raise awareness through documentaries and interviews.

During Friday’s Loose Women, Matt opened up about his and Emma’s journey as he went through rehab and counselling.

“I’ve learned the most in recovery from talking to other people who have gone through it and kind of learning their stories,” he admitted.

Nadia then asked whether his wife found any comfort in being in meetings and sharing their experiences.

“We’ve done kind of couples counselling and things, and it’s gonna be much more open and honest about things and the things that I do which I don’t realise which still trigger her from those days,” he said.

“Well, I’m not drinking and using drugs anymore. It’s all behaviour with me.”

Emma “was always scared” to bring certain things up with him as she feared Matt would “spiral”.

“It actually does the opposite because I’m at a point now where I’m just like, ‘Let’s put it on the table’,” Matt told the panellists.

The duo met in 2004 while Matt was performing with his bandmates Charlie Simpson and James Bourne, and Emma, whose maiden name was Griffith, was a presenter for MTV.

Matt previously revealed he was surprised that Emma stayed with him, admitting he was a “mastermind at gaslighting” when trying to hide his problems.

He claimed there were several moments when he thought they’d call it quits, but it never happened.

In his documentary, Matt says: “I was always surprised [Emma] didn’t leave me, she’s an unbelievable woman.

“I caused her so much agony, but she saw something in me I didn’t see in myself, and I’m forever grateful to her and indebted to her.”

Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter has been left shaken after a threatening man verbally abused her from a car while she was taking a stroll in Kent today.

The TV star, 76, said that she was left shocked when the man drove up behind her and began screaming at her from his vehicle, shouting that she was ‘stupid’ and that he hated her.

Taking to Twitter to share her scary run-in, Janet wrote: “I went for a quiet walk by the sea in Kent this afternoon.

“A car suddenly drove up behind me, and the man behind the wheel screamed I HATE YOU, WE ALL HATE YOU, YOU ARE STUPID and when I tried to walk away he turned round and spat out YOU WILL GO DOWN!

“He’s driving a grey Golf,” she warned.

Janet was left shaken by the incident
After an outpour of support from her Twitter followers, Janet took to the platform again to confirm that she is okay – but has been left a little shocked over the incident.

“I am ok, but it was a bit of a shock,” she told.

“I do not know a single person who would get pleasure from driving up to a woman walking by herself on a quiet road by the sea and shouting abuse at her. But maybe I have not lived.”

After sharing her story, several of Janet’s followers and fans alike took it upon themselves to share their good wishes with her as they called out the frightening situation.

“I hope you’ve reported him to the police Janet. Whereabouts in Kent? I live by the coast in Kent and shall keep an eye out I really hope you’re ok. Love and hugs,” one friend replied.

Before undergoing the quick surgery, her eyelids used to mildly droop over her eyes. Doctors removed the excess skin, leaving her with brighter and more rounded eyes.

The 61-year-old said: “Have you noticed I have had my eyes done? Back in the day, I used to have eyelids when I was younger and then as I got older, you see the top picture… they became more and more hooded and changed my eyes.”

The procedure is called Blepharoplasty – which is the type of surgery that removes excess skin from the eyelids.

Jane continued: “They take just take the loose skin and It’s done in 45 minutes. You can get it done on the NHS if the skin is so bad it affects your vision. Obviously, mine was just you know, vanity I suppose.

“I just looked tired. I looked tired and grumpy all the time, even though I wasn’t. I mean I know I am totally grumpy a lot of the time but now I look endlessly fascinated by everything.”

She added: “I researched it really well. I was not nervous about the procedure. I was nervous about the result.”

The audience oohed and aahed as they cheered for the TV presenter.

Speaking on the show, Charlene said: “We’ve had a lot of messages about your eye Jane?”

As Jane replied: “It’s so nice that everyone looks out for you on this show. I came in this morning, and I didn’t even notice anything was wrong with my eye, and one of the ladies in make-up and I looked, and I look like something out of a horror film.

“It doesn’t hurt. I have no idea what it was, someone said it might be a burst blood vessel but I don’t know how I’ve done it.”

The actress admitted that she has not had sex with her husband for two years
Linda left Loose Women viewers shocked earlier this month when she confessed she and Mark haven’t had sex for two years.

Talking about whether a sex hiatus could be good for a relationship, she said: “Can I just say I’ve been celibate for two years?”

Following her revelation, Linda later admitted she’s got no time for romance and would rather go on holiday alone.

“I can’t be a**** with all that,” she explained. “I’m just happy going out with my mates and my children and my grandchildren.

“If I’ve got three or four days off work, I’ll just go to Mallorca. I’ll get a flight out there. Stay in a hotel hopefully full of Germans so no-one will recognise me and just have a nice relaxing time.

“I just love sitting on the sun bed, round the pool, on the beach, reading a book. I would like to take a cruise round the world on my own.”

Fans were quick to applaud the star for being openly embracing her menopause treatment, with comments pouring in including: “Loving the HRT patch!” while another commented: “It’s the HRT patch for me Nads!”

The Celebrity MasterChef winner is best known for being a Loose Women panellist as well as appearing on EastEnders from 1997 to 1999, playing the role of Annie Palmer.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: “I remember me and Adam Woodyatt wondering how we were going to cope if we had to do one more week of our rubbish storyline. Because at one point my storyline went a bit weird when I was working for the council with the rubbish.”

However, when she got the gig, Nadia was delighted, sharing: “When I got the part I could not believe it. I was so happy. I was so broke.

“I remember thinking there wasn’t going to be a Christmas that year, that’s how broke I was. I was literally thinking about pennies on the street and so it was totally extraordinary.”

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has revealed Fiona Phillips’ Alzheimer’s diagnosis “hit her like a ton of bricks”, as it brought back her own family’s experience of the disease.

Fiona, 62, announced her devastating news on Tuesday in an interview with The Mirror, where she has been a columnist for almost 20 years.

The GMTV favourite and TV presenter learned the news from doctors 18 months ago, while the disease has impacted her family and her life for decades.

After close family members battled the disease across her life, including both of her parents, Fiona shared her own diagnosis which she received aged just 61 years old.

The 62-year-old TV favourite was told she had the illness a year ago after suffering months of brain fog and anxiety.

Fiona is now undergoing trials for a revolutionary new drug, which scientists hope could slow or even reverse the illness for millions of sufferers in the years to come.

On Wednesday, a number of ITV stars shared their love and support for Fiona following her health news.

Panellist Coleen admitted she “could have sobbed” when she learned the news, as she recalled her mother’s battle with Alzheimer’s that “traumatised” her family.

Coleen emotionally confessed her constant fear that she too will be diagnosed with the disease, after seeing her mother go through it before her death in 2007.

As the panellists all shared their “upset” over the news after Fiona confirmed her diagnosis, Coleen shared her “shock” especially with Fiona being 62 years old.

She said on the show: “I was so shocked, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I’ve experienced Alzheimer’s with my mum and I know how as a family, how traumatic that was for us and still is to a degree.

“But it’s less shocking when someone’s in their late 70s or 80s, you always assume even myself I think I’ll probably have some form of dementia… but she’s 62.”

Coleen went on: “Of everything we’ve gone through with my family, I’d say Alzheimer’s for me as a family member was the worst to watch someone you love go through. I feel for her family, her husband, her kids.

“Hopefully these drugs she is trying will slow it down or reverse it and that’s brilliant. I was really shocked and I could have sobbed when I heard her talk about it, because selfishly it brings everything back that you’ve gone through, so I wanna send her all our love really.”

On her own fears of having the disease, she said: “It’s something I fear every single day. Every time I forget something, every single time I forget a name or where I’ve put something, this fear overtakes me, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got it’. So I wouldn’t like to know I think it would ruin my life.”

Host Christine Lampard then shared a public message to Fiona, saying: “Fiona we are sending you all of our love and to the family, and wishing you all the very best and hopefully we can see you again soon.”

Fiona’s news became public on Tuesday, and the TV presenter referenced the battles her family members, including both her parents, have had with the disease.

She revealed: “This disease has ravaged my family and now it has come for me.

“And all over the country there are people of all different ages whose lives are being affected by it – it’s heartbreaking. I just hope I can help find a cure which might make things better for others in the future.”

Fiona went on: “It’s something I might have thought I’d get at 80. But I was still only 61 years old.

“I felt more angry than anything else because this disease has already impacted my life in so many ways; my poor mum was crippled with it, then my dad, my grandparents, my uncle. It just keeps coming back for us.”

Fiona has been carrying the secret of her illness for 18 months but on Tuesday she chose to share the news with readers of the Mirror where she has been a columnist for almost 20 years.

She told us: “There is still an issue with this disease that the public thinks of old people, bending over a stick, talking to themselves.

“But I’m still here, getting out and about, meeting friends for coffee, going for dinner with Martin and walking every day.”

Loose Women star Denise Welch has opened up about the sadness she feels about being Matty Healy’s mum.

Matty, 36, has had no end of controversial headlines including accusations of racism, Islamophobia and misogny.

Most recently the 1975 frontman was linked to global singing sensation Taylor Swift as it was rumoured the two enjoyed a brief affair following her split from Joe Alwyn.

Discussing her son in a new interview, Denise, 65, opened up about how sad and hard it is being away from Matty while he’s on tour, saying she “misses having him to myself”.

She also discussed the moment he told her he needed to go to rehab for heroin addiction.

The former Corrie actress has tackled her own fair share of demons, often discussing how she abused drugs and alcohol.

Speaking to The Sunday Times in a new interview, Denise said she was shocked when she first realised how low her son was.

She said: “I had to stand back and realise that Matty was the son of an alcoholic, and I had to come to terms with the shame that brought.”

Denise later added: “But Matty said, ‘Mum, I wouldn’t be who I am if our house wasn’t a bit of rock’n’roll.”

In 2017 Matty checked spent seven weeks at a rehab clinic in Barbados to treat his heroin addiction and is still in recovery.

The lead singer has written openly about his drug use in songs, and although still drinks alcohol and smokes cigarettes no longer uses heroin.

One thing Denise did not speculate on was her son’s rumoured romance with pop icon Taylor Swift.

The showbiz world was stunned back in May, when it was claimed the two singers had reportedly struck up a romance following the American star’s shock split from British actor Joe Alwyn.

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to Shake It Off hitmaker said at the time: “She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right.

“They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out. Taylor and Joe actually split up back in February, so there was absolutely no crossover.”

But dreams of a lasting love story for the two stars came to an end a month later, when it was reported the pair had called time on their brief union.

Earlier this week, The Sun claimed Matty and Taylor have reunited already and “want to make it work at all costs” – planning to meet up with each other during tour dates. The source added how Matty is “utterly smitten” with Taylor.

However, a source close to Taylor has told MailOnline : “They are absolutely not together and aren’t even in contact anymore.”

An insider close to Matty echoed the statement when speaking with the Mirror.

Amid all the speculation, Matty – whoses exes include FKA Twigs and Hasley – has been seen sharing a lingering hug with brunette artist Sarah Teare in London.

It’s Not Living singer Matty, was pictured in an orange jumper, appeared tired as he carried two coffees to meet his pal with the pair then seen hugging.

Sheila Hancock was praised by viewers as she made her debut on Loose Women on Tuesday’s episode of the show, talking to the panellists about her upcoming new book Old Rage

Sheila Hancock forgot her age as she admitted she “hated” being called a “national treasure” during a lively appearance on Loose Women.

The TV and theatre actress made her debut on the ITV daytime show on Tuesday and spoke about recently celebrating her 90th birthday.

However, she complained about being made to attend a family party, and as she said she would rather “go for a drink” to celebrate, she stunned the panel when she forgot her own age.

“80 is a hell of a milestone, I feel old now,” she said, as Charlene White exclaimed, “90! You’re 90!”

Sheila rolled her eyes and laughed as she confessed she’d lost track of time as she’d got older.

“I didn’t even notice my 80th,” Sheila explained. “I felt exactly the same, But suddenly, when you’re 90, people start helping you over the road.”

She then poked fun at the Loose Women staff behind the scenes, as she said they treated her differently because of her age, and even asked if she “wanted a carer to come with me”.

“I feel about 100, really,” she lamented. “But I don’t feel treasurable,” Sheila quipped, as she blasted being called a “national treasure” just because of her age.

“If you get as old as me, they automatically call you (a national treasure), and it’s utterly untrue. You get labelled a treasure, even though you might be, like I am, absolutely vile,” she cackled.

“It’s just because you’ve reached that age and you can walk across a stage without falling over,” Sheila quipped.

She went on to discuss her new book, and the audience gasped as she revealed she had written to Janet Street Porter to ask her for a job at the BBC back in the 1980s, but was ignored.

“I wrote a letter, and you didn’t even reply,” Sheila scolded, leaving the red-haired journalist quivering.

“I’m going to find that letter and write a reply,” Janet stated, prompting Sheila to joke: “And hopefully give me a job.”

And viewers were bowled over by the veteran star’s honesty. “What a refreshing change to have someone like Sheila Hancock on #LooseWomen,” one tweeted while a second agreed: “Hasn’t she been fantastic.”

While one was surprised to find out her age, writing: “F*** me, Sheila Hancock is never 90!!!”

Stacey Solomon has introduced her ‘camera shy’ sister to the world, much to the excitement of her adoring fans.

The English singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to show off her older sibling Samantha Stone to her 5.7m followers, marking a rare public appearance for the personal trainer.

In the short video, Stacey and her sister, who works as a fitness coach for Barry’s UK, can be seen grinning and waving before commencing a workout together at in the garage of ‘Pickle Cottage’.

Stacey also revealed in the update that she had taken her 18-month-old daughter, Rose, to the session to make things ‘easier’ on husband Joe Swash as the EastEnders actor watched their five other children.

The update comes shortly after Stacey was ‘mum’ shamed by trolls online, after some of her followers noticed that Joe’s teenage son, Harry, is missing from many of her Instagram photos.

Earlier this month, Stacey addressed her fans’ surprise over the news she has a ‘secret’ sixth sibling.

“Loads of you were like, ‘I did not know you had another sister, where have you been hiding her?’ She’s actually my step-sister but I would never call her that because we grew up together, so she’s my sister,” the 33-year-old explained. “All together there’s like seven of us. We were a really big blended family. So I’ve got one step-sister, two step-brothers, my brother and sister and then my dad and step-mum had another baby so I’ve got another half-brother.”

Stacey went on to share a short clip of the vigorous workout, which included intense reps of lifting dumbbells and stretching with resistance bands.

Despite admitting to finding “EVERYTHING so hard,” the Loose Women star said she was “proud” of herself for pushing through the pain. She also credited Samantha for filling her with “motivation,” adding that she feels “so much better” about herself when she’s exercising.

“I have the craziest work family schedule and honestly it’s [the workout] given me so much energy,” Stacey revealed.

Samantha echoed Stacey’s positive attitude over on her own Instagram, reposting her famous sister’s story with the caption, “She is getting very very strong. Watch this space.”

When she’s not getting her clients into shape, Samantha and her husband Aaron are busy parenting their son, Axel River, and daughter Poppy.
