Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seemingly planning a solo holiday with King Charles in Balmoral.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are not joining the rest of the Royal Family for their annual summer retreat, will see ailing King Charles separately.

An insider tells Express: “Harry and Meghan will not be joining the rest of the Royal Family in August.”

“The King is keen for it to be a happy family occasion which will see members of the Royal Family come together for just over a week to discuss plans for the future and to unwind.

They add: “The Sussexes will not be part of that meeting but may join the King at a later date when the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family have left.”

Speaking about King Charles, the source said: “Charles really does want to build a better relationship with Archie and Lili and spend quality time with them.”

Prince Harry takes firm decision amid mounting 'negativity'

Prince Harry is reportedly “in a good place” after showing a “sense of honour” and truly “feeling every word” during his acceptance speech at the ESPYs this week.

The Duchess of Sussex joined her husband at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday night, where he received the Pat Tillman Award for Service from ESPN, recognizing individuals in sports who have made significant impacts on the lives of others.

Harry was honored for founding the Invictus Games a decade ago to support injured and ill servicemen and women. In his acceptance speech, Harry began by acknowledging the family of Mr. Tillman, especially Mrs. Mary Tillman—Pat’s mother.

Her advocacy for Pat’s legacy is deeply personal, and one that I respect,” he said. “The bond between a mother and son is eternal and transcends even the greatest losses,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, body language expert Darren Stanton revealed that the Duke is “in a good place”.

He said: “Prince Harry ’s body language was very strong when he accepted the award. He displayed a sense of honour and inner pride. When he was speaking about the Invictus Games, it was clear it was very close to his heart.”

Mr Stanton added: “When we look at his body language more specifically, both his feet were planted on the floor and barely moved. This is a clear sign of Harry feeling in control without an ounce of nervousness. He’s in a good place right now. Harry spoke with clarity, confidence, and passion – revealing he felt every word he came out with.”

Then, touching on when Harry spoke of the “bond between a mother and son”, Mr Stanton noted: “When Harry paid a tribute to his mother, you can tell he was processing his emotions.

“He flashed expressions of sadness, which was understandable as he was thinking about her in that moment throughout his speech. However, he was able to keep calm and level-headed. This shows how comfortable Harry is with speaking publicly.”

This comes after Harry and Meghan put on a loved-up display at the awards, with “ownership” hinted from Meghan by an expert. Judi James, a renowned body language expert, told The Mirror yesterday.

“Meghan’s pose on the red carpet with her husband and her friend Serena does make it look as though she’s either got his back or acting as back-up as he turns his torso partly towards Serena, placing an arm around her waist, while Meghan poses behind him using gestures of ownership and loving support.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Begin Invictus Games With Sweet PDA Moment

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made an impactful arrival at their first joint appearance at the 2023 Invictus Games on Wednesday after Meghan flew into Germany from California a day earlier.

Meghan joined Harry, who had been at the games since its opening ceremony on September 9 in the German city of Düsseldorf. Hours after her arrival on Tuesday, she attended an evening reception for veterans competing in this year’s games and their families, where she apologized for missing the start of the tournament. She explained that she was looking after the royal couple’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back home in California.

On Wednesday morning, Harry and Meghan attended their first sports event of the games together, taking in a preliminary wheelchair basketball game. As the couple made their way to their seats, they delighted fans with an endearing public display of affection or PDA, walking through the Merkur Spiel-Arena hand in hand.

For the event, Meghan turned to one of her fashion fail-safe suits, wearing a soft tailored jacket and a pair of chic box shorts.

The duchess accessorized her outfit with a pair of tan, flat slingback shoes with a contrasting black toe box; a black and gold leather belt from the French fashion house Givenchy; and her regularly worn gold Cartier “Love” bracelet and gold Cartier “Tank” watch.

Meghan is reportedly styling her own hair and makeup during her Invictus Games visit.

The royal couple’s appearance on Wednesday is by no means the first time they have been spotted holding hands in public. Throughout their seven-year relationship, Harry and Meghan have been demonstratively affectionate toward each other, including during their first official appearance after news broke that they were dating.

The couple used the Invictus Games in 2017 as the backdrop for disclosing their relationship to the press, with Meghan and Harry appearing at a wheelchair tennis match together. Meghan appeared to pay a fashion nod to the significance of that event, wearing a white shirt known as the “husband” model from American label Misha Nonoo.

The royal couple’s tendency to hold hands in public has caused them some trouble in the past. In 2022, they were photographed holding hands during the lying-in-state ceremony for Queen Elizabeth II ahead of her state funeral. This brought a backlash, with some commentators and social media users calling the gesture disrespectful.

Fans of the couple were quick to note days later that President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden were photographed holding hands at the state funeral, held at Westminster Abbey on September 19.

Royal PDA moments have become increasingly popular on social media. Posts have focused on interactions between Harry and Meghan, as well as between Prince William and Kate Middleton, reaching viral numbers.

The Invictus Games event was founded by Harry in 2014 as an international platform for wounded, sick or injured veterans to showcase their mental and physical recovery and strength through sporting endeavors.

The games will run in Germany until Saturday, when both Harry and Meghan are likely to make speeches during the closing ceremony. The next games will be held in Canada in 2025, the first year that winter sports will be included in the roster of events.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Germany for the 2023 Invictus Games saw the couple reunited for a round of official appearances for the first time since their involvement in a paparazzi car chase in New York City this May.

Fans of the couple eagerly anticipated their arrival at Invictus. It was the sixth tournament of the games co-founded by Harry in 2014 to provide a platform for wounded veterans to showcase their mental and physical rehabilitation.

Harry and Meghan have attended the games together since 2017, where they made their first official appearance as a couple at an Invictus event in Toronto, Canada.

Since then, the couple’s public displays of affection (PDA), from hand holding, to emotional tributes in speeches and celebratory hugs, have been widely shared.

Here, Newsweek looks at the duke and duchess’ top PDA moments from the 2023 Invictus Games.

Meghan and Harry’s first appearance together at the 2023 Invictus Games came three days after the prince officially started the tournament at the opening ceremony. The duchess later apologized, saying she had been making sure that the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were settled back at home in California.

During her speech at a party for Invictus veterans on September 12, Harry joined his wife on stage. She revealed that, one day, she was looking forward to making the games a family affair where they could be joined by their children for the events.

Both Harry and Meghan are self-professed animal lovers, with the couple owning three dogs of their own back at home in California.

On September 15, the couple were photographed during the time trial and criterium cycling event meeting a puppy who had been taken along. The royal family has a long history with owning and breeding dogs.

Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was so closely associated with her famous corgi dogs that, after her death, they became a symbol of national mourning in Britain, with many toy corgis being left at the royal palaces as tributes.

  • Invictus Games Could Give Prince Archie and Lilibet Glimpse of Royal Life

Invictus Games Could Give Prince Archie and Lilibet Glimpse of Royal Life

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games could provide his children with a valuable insight into royal life, despite the prince’s aversion to exposing them to press photographers, according to a new episode of Newsweek‘s The Royal Report podcast.

Harry and wife, Meghan Markle, have two children: Prince Archie, born in 2019, and Princess Lilibet, born in 2021. So far neither have made an appearance at the Invictus Games which is Harry’s co-founded sports tournament which showcases the mental and physical achievements of wounded, sick or injured veterans.

At the 2023 games in Düsseldorf, Germany, Meghan told crowds that she “can’t wait to one day be able to bring our kids also, so they can experience just how amazing this is.”

This would not only provide fans with a rare opportunity to see the prince and princess, who until now have rarely been seen in public, but chief royal correspondent Jack Royston told Royal Report listeners it would also provide Archie and Lilibet with a link to the royal lives they might have led, had their parents not split from the monarchy.

“I personally would love to see Harry and Meghan bring Archie and Lily to something like Invictus. I think it would be fantastic,” Royston said. “It would be a really great opportunity to see their kids getting involved as well, helping out, doing good.”

“It’s really interesting because it would kind of give Archie and Lily a little flash of what their lives might have been like if Harry and Meghan had remained working royals, like if they all stayed in Britain they would be out there in the limelight, they would have been part of the coronation, they would have been part of the Jubilee. They would have been part of all of these things.”

Since Harry and Meghan’s move to the U.S. in 2020, they have only made one public return to Britain with their children to mark the Platinum Jubilee in 2022, however, they were not present for any of the public facing events, unlike their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Royston noted that by experiencing a small part of the pageantry and duties connected with a royal event, which are in many ways replicated during the Invictus Games, the Sussex children would “get to understand what Harry and Meghan’s lives were like before they quit the palace, and that would probably be quite nice for them to kind of have an insight and an understanding.”

It could also provide them with an opportunity to ask themselves if they perhaps would have enjoyed being part of the working royal machine, he noted.

There are, however, drawbacks to attending an event like the Invictus Games, particularly when it comes to whether Harry and Meghan are willing to expose their children to them, namely press interest and photographers.

So far, the couple have strictly controlled the dissemination and taking of photos of their children, with Harry’s hatred for paparazzi photographers and camera flashes being expressed on a number of occasions, linking back to the experiences of Princess Diana in the 1990s.

“If Archie and Lilibet do come to Invictus, then they will be photographed in public on an international stage,” Royston said. “They’ll probably be filmed in a context where Harry and Meghan don’t have control.”

“That is definitely something they would have to get their heads around in terms of that issue of privacy and whether they would actually want to expose their children to being photographed in a context where they didn’t get to review the images themselves and say yes or no,” he concluded.

  • Prince Archie’s ‘American Accent’ Goes Viral: ‘Adorable!’

Prince Archie’s ‘American Accent’ Goes Viral: ‘Adorable!’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Prince Archie, has become the subject of a viral TikTok video after fans highlighted his “American accent” in footage shown in the Sussexes 2022 Netflix docuseries that has subsequently been shared to the social media site.

Archie is Harry and Meghan’s eldest child, born in 2019 while the couple were still working members of the royal family, living in Britain. Their second child, Princess Lilibet was born in California in 2021, following the family’s move to the United States after their split from the monarchy.

Harry and Meghan have valued the level of privacy they have been able to afford their children in raising them out of the royal spotlight. Fans of the couple have been afforded only rare glimpses into their family life, with few authorized photographs of the little prince and princess being released to the public.

In 2022, the couple offered fans an unprecedented view into their personal lives though their six-part docuseries with streaming partner, Netflix, titled Harry & Meghan. In the show, self-shot footage of Archie and Lilibet at home, and with their family were broadcast, with never before seen photos and insights from their parents.

Uploaded to TikTok last month by user @lady_frances1997, the viral video features footage from the final episode of the documentary, which included an audio clip of Archie greeting members of his parents’ Archewell foundation during a conference call.

In the clip, which has been viewed over 125,000 times so far, Harry is heard asking his son: “Archie, come say hi to the team.”

To this, the little prince echoes his father by greeting each with: “Hi, James,” “Hi, Michael,” and “Hi, Christine.”

At this, a proud Meghan is heard praising her son, saying: “Ahh! That’s so good!”

The clip offered fans a rare opportunity to hear the prince speak for the first time.

The post has received in excess of 6,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which have praised the young royal and his parents.

“Aww Prince Archie with his little American accent,” wrote one TikTok user.

“Giving his babies the life he wanted,” posted another in reference to Harry.

A further comment read: “He’s adorable!”

Archie has seen a number of personal developments over the past year, perhaps the most prominent being his elevation from “Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor” to His Royal Highness Prince Archie of Sussex, last September.

Archie was not born a prince, according to a convention on royal titles issued by King George V, controlling who could and could not be styled a prince or princess of Great Britain.

As a great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II through the second son of the Prince of Wales, Archie was not eligible for the prince title of his own. This changed when Queen Elizabeth II died and King Charles III came to the throne.

As a grandchild of the new monarch born through the male line, Archie and Lilibet received their new titles.

This was first announced in March 2023, when Harry and Meghan used Lilibet’s princess title for the first time following her christening. On the change, a spokesperson for the couple said: “The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became Monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

Since 2020, Harry and Meghan have returned to Britain with their children only once. The family traveled to England to take part in the celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, just three months before her death.

I saw first-hand how happy & free Harry once was – he was so popular but now he’s ruined it

A ROYAL expert has claimed she saw how happy and free Prince Harry once was but things have changed now.

Broadcaster and royal correspondent Sarah Hewson said that the Duke of Sussex was once “one of the most popular members” of the Royal Family.

The royal expert made the comments while appearing on The Sun’s popular Royal Exclusive show.

But over the years Prince Harry has seen his relationship with his family sour after the release of his memoir Spare and Netflix docuseries.

The Duke of Sussex stepped down from the Royal Family four years ago and has since made a number of shocking allegations about brother William and his wider family.

Speaking to the Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Sarah said: “Prince Harry was one of the most, if not the most popular member of the Royal Family because of his ability to relate to people.

Kate at Wimbledon is ‘step forward’ & ‘positive’ amid cancer treatment

“He was seen as relateable. Yes there were the headlines about the ‘Party Prince’ and whatever… it was part of his charm, his ability to communicate with people.

“He was an extremely powerful force within the Royal Family becayse that knack of reaching people that others couldn’t and he had his mother’s touch in that way.”

She said she went to Lesotho with him in 2008 where he was “free of all of the constraints of Palace life”.

Sarah continued: “He was honouring his mother’s legacy. He was surrounded by Army colleagues as they were building a centre for disabled children in this tiny African kingdom.

“He was working with children – everything that brought him joy. He was free. He was alive.”

She added that he did not “show” his “problem with the media” there and appeared to be “happy” to have the press there.

The expert said that Harry and Meghan could have played “such a key role”, especially with several senior Royals now taking a step back from public life amid serious illness.

“I think it’s really really sad to see just how things have changed,” she added.

It comes after The Sun reported how royal correspondent Ms Hewson said the current state of family affairs is “a mess, and it’s a very sorry mess”.

Speaking about the upcoming royal summer break at Balmoral, The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson asked whether Harry and Meghan would be receiving an invite.

“We’re always told the King’s door is always open, but would they be invited?,” responded the royal expert.

“I don’t see an actual physical invitation being issued but were they to ask, it would be very difficult for the King to say no.

“He doesn’t want this distance with his son, and he certainly doesn’t want this barrier between him and his grandchildren.

“He’s met Lilibet once, Archie just a handful of times. That’s really, really sad. Obviously geography pays a part in that, we aren’t going to see the King jumping on a plane to California to see them.”

    ‘EXTREMELY TENSE’

Then there were the well-known tensions between Prince William and Princess Kate and the Sussexes which Sarah thinks will only contribute to rising stress levels.

And the situation was complicated due to Kate undergoing cancer treatment.

She added: “We know things with the Waleses and the Sussexes are extremely tense.

“I don’t see any signs of any thawing there – and it’s really not a priority.

“One of the things the Waleses really want to focus on now is keeping things calm, stress levels down, during the Princess’ recuperation.

“I really don’t think a reunion with Harry and Meghan is going to do anything for stress levels, and it’s just not their focus.”

A timeline of Prince Harry and William’s ‘feud’: Brothers ‘at war’

In 2018, the Sun told how “simmering tension” began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan’s engagement.

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.

Harry, 39, also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

It came after Prince Philip called Meghan the “D.O.W” after the Duchess of Windsor — the American divorcee who led Edward VIII to abdicate.

And he warned the late Queen to be “cautious” of Harry’s then bride-to-be, a royal author claims.

Ingrid Seward revealed in new book My Mother And I that Prince Philip felt it was “uncanny…how much Meghan reminded him of the Duchess of Windsor”.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.

Last year Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan.

In his book Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.

  • A whole new shocker as a person claiming to be Meghan Markle’s 21-year-old secret daughter releases a trove of evidence of her cruelty, revealing shocking details

A whole new shocker as a person claiming to be Meghan Markle’s 21-year-old secret daughter releases a trove of evidence of her cruelty, revealing shocking details

In a dramatic turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the British Monarchy and beyond, a young woman claiming to be Meghan Markle’s secret daughter has come forward with explosive testimony in an ongoing lawsuit. The 21-year-old, identified only as Sarah in court documents to protect her privacy, alleges years of neglect and emotional abuse at the hands of the Duchess of Sussex.

Details surrounding the alleged relationship, as guessed Sarah’s lawsuit centers around a financial settlement she claims was promised by Meghan Markle before the latter entered the royal family. The nature of this promise and the events leading up to it are yet to be revealed in court. However, the bombshell revelation of a secret daughter has overshadowed the legal proceedings, leaving the world to grapple with the legitimacy of Sarah’s claims and the potential fallout for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Social media has erupted in a frenzy of speculation and accusations. Meghan Markle, once adored for her relatable charm and modern approach to royal life, now faces an onslaught of criticism. Die-hard royalists express outrage at the alleged betrayal, while others question the timing of the lawsuit, coinciding with a period of dwindling popularity for the Sussexes within the royal family.

The accusations are sure to cause significant rifts. Prince Harry, long known for his rebellious streak, may find himself further ostracized, especially if Sarah’s claims hold any truth. The Queen, a symbol of stability and tradition, will undoubtedly be deeply affected by this public scandal.

The British press, never one to shy away from sensational headlines, is having a field day. Articles dissect Meghan Markle’s past relationships, searching for any crumb of evidence that might corroborate Sarah’s story. Pundits and commentators weigh in with their opinions, further fueling the media firestorm.

The lawsuit itself promises to be a spectacle, with the potential to expose private details about Meghan Markle’s life before she became royalty. If Sarah’s claims are proven true, it would represent a monumental betrayal of trust within the royal family. The consequences for Meghan and Harry’s relationship with the monarchy and with the public could be irreparable.

However, amidst the whirlwind of accusations and speculation, a crucial question remains unanswered: Is Sarah’s story genuine? There is a chance, however slim, that this could be an elaborate hoax, an attempt to secure a financial windfall from the Duchess. Only time and the ongoing legal proceedings will reveal the truth.

The Day Prince Harry Was Scolded by Butler for Drenching Girls

Prince Harry was once scolded by a butler for throwing girls fully clothed into a swimming pool during a raucous teenage party at one of Britain’s largest country houses, a senior aristocrat has revealed in his new memoir.

Henry Somerset, the 12th duke of Beaufort has referenced Harry’s teenage antics in his memoir due to be released 11 months after the prince published his own bombshell-packed book, Spare.

Beaufort is custodian of the historic Badminton House in Gloucestershire, located just five miles from King Charles III’s country retreat, Highgrove, where Harry and Prince William spent much of their childhoods.

In a serialized extract from his memoir The Unlikely Duke published in the Daily Mail, Beaufort revealed that Harry had been invited to attend the 18th birthday party of his niece which presented him with the awkward possibility of having to reprimand the fifth in line to the throne.

“One of the guests was Prince Harry, 16 at the time, who’d come over from Highgrove,” he wrote. “Initially he seemed to blend in quite well, but he suddenly became possessed, lifted a girl over his shoulder, walked over to the swimming pool and hurled her in.

“There was a predictable outburst of laughter from the other guests and Harry, pleased with this reaction, continued to indulge himself by repeating the performance with several other girls, one after another.”

As the prince threw more girls into the pool, the duke wrote that he grew concerned about its effect on the party.

“The problem was that none of the girls had brought other clothes to change into and, had Harry’s performance continued, the party would have been ruined,” he said, adding that he was rescued by his father’s butler from any embarrassment.

“A bit overawed by his royal status, I was rather slow to stop him, so it was lucky that Steve—butler to my father, [then] the Duke of Beaufort—was also at the party. In no uncertain terms, Steve told Harry to stop at once,” he wrote.

As the girls were taken into Badminton House to change into borrowed clothes, Beaufort wrote that his brother, Lord John Somerset referenced Harry’s position as the “spare” to Prince William as the “heir” to the throne. “We gotta be real careful that nothin’ happens to that boy’s older brother…real careful,” he said.

Newsweek approached representatives of Prince Harry via email for comment.

In his own memoir, Harry opened up about some of his partygoing days as a teenager, in addition to spending time in and around Highgrove with his brother and father.

Members of the royal family adopted a blanket “no comment” position when it came to Spare and the claims made by Harry within it.

The book earned him both praise and criticism, as well as a world record for the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time, with readers purchasing more than 1.4 million copies across all formats in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada on its January 10 publication day.

  • Reasons why Harry and Meghan stay together

Reasons why Harry and Meghan stay together

It’s no secret that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex are one controversial couple. After leaving the U.K. and taking a step back from royal duties in 2020, the pair left many royal fans wondering if they truly respected the crown. Later, when they released a tell-all Netflix documentary series titled, “Harry & Meghan,” they stirred up even more drama. While some commentators supported the couple’s decision to speak out about the monarchy, others alleged that they were essentially trading palace secrets in a $100 million dollar deal, according to Forbes.

In 2023, things didn’t settle down for Harry and Meghan. The dynamic duo started off the year with the much-contended publication of Harry’s personal memoir, “Spare,” which revealed less-than-flattering details about the prince’s family. Soon after, the controversy surrounding Harry and Meghan took another turn, as rumors of a split abounded. By June, the commentator, Megyn Kelly, announced her belief that Harry was looking into divorce lawyers (via Showbiz CheatSheet). And, just a few weeks later, Marca published a piece alleging that Meghan was on the hunt for a $80 million divorce settlement.

However, within months, it was clear that these rumors were nothing more than, well, rumors. During the September 2023 Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan were remarkably handsy with each other. At the time, Harper’s Bazaar even called them “so in love.” From their shared hatred of the tabloids to their philosophy on marriage, there are many factors that could possibly keep Harry and Meghan together.

It has been rumored that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s marriage is on the rocks. However, even as this negative gossip has taken over the European tabloid press, Harry and Meghan have shown signs of sticking things out. One of the possible reasons why the couple stays together could actually pertain to their personal view of these news stories. In the past, Harry has gone on the record, claiming that these articles are published with the specific intention of ruining his love life. And, it is possible that he does not want to let the press succeed.

In a written statement that Harry submitted to the British court system during a lawsuit against the Mirror Group Newspapers, the prince described his belief that the media has intentionally tried to sabotage his romantic relationships (via The New York Times). Harry explained, “I always felt as if the tabloids wanted me to be single, as I was much more interesting to them and sole more newspapers. Whenever I got into a relationship, they were very keen to report all the details but would then, very quickly, seek to try and break it up by putting as much strain on it and creating as much distrust as humanly possible.” In that sense, it is possible that Harry and Meghan have remained together so as not to succumb to the pressures of the press.

Separating would only draw more media attention

As royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex attract quite a bit of media attention. However, over the years, the couple has been outspoken about the challenges of dealing with the tabloids. In their Netflix documentary series, “Harry & Meghan,” the duo opened up about the impact of this harassment on their daily lives. At one point, Meghan recalled, “It felt like all of the UK media descended upon Toronto … Then my neighbors texted me saying, ‘They’re knocking on everyone’s door, they are trying to find you.’ They had paid certain neighbors to put a live stream camera into my backyard.” All in all, this invasion of privacy left Meghan feeling terrified. The duchess shared, “All the curtains were pulled and the blinds were pulled. It was scary.”

Unfortunately, if Harry and Meghan were ever to part ways, they could expect to face media stalking like never before. Historically speaking, divorced royals have faced massive amounts of press interest — and the Sussexes know it. In “Harry & Meghan,” Harry reflected on the way that his parents’ divorce seemed to egg on the paparazzi. Harry revealed, “My mom was harassed throughout her life with my dad … But after they separated, the harassment went to new levels.” With this history in mind, it is likely that the Sussexes want to avoid a divorce — and all the press attention that goes along with it.

The couple does not want to expose their kids to marital conflicts

At its core, divorce is all about conflict – conflicting goals, conflicting world views, and conflicting lifestyles. However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are intent on protecting their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from any sort of marital conflict whatsoever. And, perhaps, this goal has helped the couple stick together.

Indeed, as reported by the Daily Mail, Harry opened up about this dynamic in a public conversation with the Canadian author, Dr. Gabor Maté. Per the outlet, Harry claimed that he and Meghan do everything in their power to keep their disagreements separate from Archie and Lilibet, stating, “Do not have those disagreements, arguments, whatever it is [in front of your children] … Luckily my wife and I don’t have those.” The redheaded prince went on to say that this parenting philosophy stems from the trauma that he himself once experienced while his parents were arguing. “The idea of having those in front of the kids? I assume that my parents probably had a lot of those [rows] in front of me, maybe that’s where it comes from … That’s not a good idea.”

Because of this mentality, it is likely that Harry and Meghan would remain married as a way to protect their children from that sort of conflict. As Harry reportedly told Maté, “We do the best we can as parents — learning from our own past.”

Marital conflict is not the only thing that the Sussexes want to protect their children from. Harry and Meghan have also been said to dislike the logistical element of divorce — especially when it comes to raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in two separate homes. This stance could very well be a product of the Sussexes’ childhood memories. After all, both Harry and Meghan struggled immensely when their own parents parted ways, respectively. As royal expert Lara Asprey relayed in an interview with OK! (via Express), “They’ve both had this traumatic experience, which they don’t want to repeat for their own children’s sake … I do think for now they’ll fight tooth and nail to stay together. They want their kids to have stability and not come from a broken home themselves.”

Interestingly, Harry expressed a similar sentiment in the Netflix documentary series, “Harry & Meghan.” As the prince told filmmakers, “I think most kids who are the product of divorced parents have a lot in common, no matter what your background is … Being pulled from one place to another, or maybe your parents are competitive, or you’re in one place longer than you want to be, or another place less than you want to be.” Because of these negative past experiences, it is likely that Harry and Meghan will do everything possible to keep their kids in one household.

Harry might be afraid to lose another woman in his life

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet might not the only people who the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to protect from a divorce. It is also pretty likely that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also want to avoid a divorce for their own emotional well-being. This may be especially true for Harry, who has famously struggled with loss over the years. According to at least one relationship expert, it would be difficult for the redheaded prince to part ways with his wife, as he probably does not want to lose yet another woman that he loves.

In an interview with the Mirror, Kate Mansfield analyzed this aspect of Harry’s relationship patterns. According to her professional opinion, the prince continues to feel the impact of his mother, Princess Diana’s, tragic death. Mansfield explained, “For Harry, having lost his mother at a young age, there is likely to be a significant abandonment wound that might keep him in even an unhappy marriage.” She went on to add, “The loss of a parent causes most people to develop an attachment anxiety that unless treated can create the tendency to stay in relationships, regardless of how they actually feel.”

Of course, it is important to clarify that Mansfield did not think that Harry seemed particularly unhappy in his marriage. On the contrary, she described his relationship with Meghan as both “functional” and “healthy,” stating, “I don’t see divorce on the cards.”

Many couples choose to stay married because they are happy with the life they have built together. And, from what we can tell, it is very possible that this is true for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, as well. Over the years, the pair has hinted at how much they love their life in Montecito, California. As they revealed in the Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” the pair revels in the simple things, like playing with their children in their garden or spending the day at the beach. Their family friend, Serena Williams, even told filmmakers, “They’re creating their own family … They can start something fresh and new and hope that, one day … family on both ends will be able to understand that this is truly love.”

Fascinatingly, Harry seems particularly taken with his new life — and he credits Meghan for showing him all that the world beyond palace walls has to offer. According to a report in the Daily Mail, the prince opened up about this dynamic in a public conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté. Harry shared, “People have said that my wife saved me, I was stuck in this world and she was from a different world and helped draw me out of that.” He then added, “But none of the elements of my life would have been possible without me seeing [life away from the royal family] for myself.”

    Royals don’t traditionally divorce

Although Prince Harry has recently turned his back on royal life, the redheaded rebel comes from a more traditional background. This is especially evident in that he continues to appear at royal events, such as his father’s coronation. What’s more, the prince has also made waves by insisting that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, both get titles. In that sense, it is possible that protocol is still important to Harry. And, maybe, that also means respecting the royal tradition of avoiding divorce.

Speaking on this matter to the Mirror, relationship expert Kate Mansfield opined that Harry will likely try to avoid divorce at all costs. She explained, “It’s very unlikely that Harry would ever divorce Meghan. Divorce in royal circles very much frowned upon, although it happens of course.”

Indeed, it is understood that Harry’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, took the divorces of her three children quite poorly. Via People, as revealed in the book, “Queen of Our Times: The Life of Queen Elizabeth II,” by royal commentator Robert Hardman, she was heartbroken by the scandal of these splits. Hardman even quoted one of her former staffers, who recalled, “It distressed her much more than she let on.” At one point, she apparently bemoaned, “Three out of four!” Since Harry grew up in this anti-divorce environment, it is possible that he absorbed some of his grandmother’s opinions and beliefs.

Harry and Meghan are tied financially

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t just linked by romance — or even their titles. The pair are also believed to share a number of financial obligations, which would make a divorce all the more challenging. As explained by Forbes, the Sussexes signed a $100 million contract with Netflix. Apparently, this agreement requires the duo to collaborate with the streaming giant for five years. In practice, this means participating in the production of content ranging from documentary series, like “Harry & Meghan” and “Live to Lead,” to less common formats, such as children’s programming.

On top of Harry and Meghan’s agreement with Netflix, the husband/wife team have made millions of dollars together on their investments. Chief among these is the couple’s Montecito home, which they purchased for $14.7 million, according to Forbes. As reported by The Sun, the Sussexes stand to make an astounding amount of money on the property, as its value has since skyrocketed to close to $30 million. And, while it is believed that the couple purchased the house using the fortune that Princess Diana left to Harry, Meghan is said to have played a vital role in choosing which part of California to invest in.

As a result of these complex financial dynamics, it would be extraordinarily challenging to determine who was owed what in a divorce. Considering the strength of these financial ties, it would not necessarily be advisable for Harry and Meghan to part ways.

They are focused on doing their jobs

Of course, one of the biggest possible reasons why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex aren’t getting a divorce is that they were never planning on splitting to begin with. While it is, ultimately, impossible to know what has been going on in their marriage, the truth is that many of the rumors about their so-called “break up” have been based on their work trips. As royal commentator, Lara Asprey noted in an interview with OK! (via Express), “There are signs that their paths are splitting. Harry’s got projects in Botswana and Meghan’s eyeing up her own career, pulling them in different directions.”

At the end of the day, though, work trips are just work trips. And perhaps Harry and Meghan have to occasionally spend some time apart so that they can both do their jobs — like many other married couples out there. To this point, it is believed that the Duke of Sussex is planning a new Netflix documentary that will be filmed somewhere in Africa. According to Page Six, Netflix has confirmed that this is an idea that Harry has long hoped to pursue. As one of the prince’s friends also told the outlet, “Obviously, Harry has a lot of roots in Africa and he feels at home there.” It did, however, remain unclear which country Harry might have chosen for filming.

At the end of the day, one of the most common reasons that married couples stay together is love. And, it is very possible that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex are no exception. Even as the European tabloid press claimed that the pair was on the brink of separation, Harry and Meghan continued to demonstrate affection in public. At the September 2023 Invictus Games, the pair were photographed holding hands. They also looked cozy in the stands — with Harry’s arm draped over his wife’s shoulders.

Ultimately, these small signs of unity back up a slew of anonymous insiders who have long gone to the press in defense of Harry and Meghan’s marriage. As one source close to the couple told Us Weekly, “They’re a united front. As far as they’re concerned, it’s Harry and Meghan against the world.” And speaking to People, a family friend shared, “They seemed really happy together. Harry seems to be embracing this life he has with Meghan and knows it’s a very different one than he had before, of course.”
