To promote the forthcoming sports day – which will see stars and local communities celebrate the returning Olympic team with a nationwide sports day – there was athletics-based humour from the duo before many viewers were even out of bed.

Later the duo returned to the Loose Women studio to reveal how the morning had been… and to give Nadia a “special” treat at the end of the show.

She has been married to her current partner for over two decades, but it was her first partner that broke her heart when he cheated on her while pregnant

Linda Robson has been happily married to her current husband for 26 years but still regrets being cheated on for so long in her first relationship.

The Birds of a Feather star spoke candidly on Loose Women about how her first partner of 11 years was a “serial cheat” and she wished she had ended it sooner

Sharing her heartbreak over her first love, who she had daughter Lauren with, Linda said: “I caught him lots and lots of times, probably my biggest regret is that I didn’t finish it earlier.

“The strange thing was there was a family do not too long ago, and he actually blamed me for the break-up.”

The 58-year-old explained that Lauren’s dad had told members of her family the reason he cheated was “because I was always away working

A furious Linda said this was the opposite: “That was such a lie, I was always there. I think he was just trying to make up an excuse to make himself feel better by trying to blame me for working.”

ITV Loose Women turns awkward as Linda Robson makes savage Janet Street-Porter marriage dig

Loose Women turned awkward on Monday as the panellists aired a debate titled: “Does marriage work better for men than women?” which prompted Linda Robson to make a dig

Loose Women’s Linda Robson couldn’t resist making a savage dig at co-star Janet Street-Porter on Monday.

During the latest episode, the panellists aired a debate titled: “Does marriage work better for men than women?” which prompted an awkward exchange between Linda, 66, and Janet, 77. Host, Christine Lampard, said: “Is marriage actually better for men than it is for women, what do you think, Janet, did you know what you were signing up for?”

To which Janet admitted: “Marriage is a job” before Linda interrupted her, exclaiming: “Well you’ve done it five times!” This prompted Janet to fire back with: “Four times, Linda, four times. Arithmetic was never your forte!” with the audience laughing in response over the exchange.

It comes as Janet previously admitted on the show that she woke up the morning after her wedding and regretted it. The Loose Women panelist, who has been married four times, claimed she didn’t want to go through half of her weddings but did out of pressure and embarrassment. Stacey Solomon called her co-star “the Grim Reaper of marriage” at the time as the pair argued about the importance of tying the knot.

Speaking about marrying someone you don’t love, Janet said: “Well maybe if you’re involved in something, in an event of that magnitude, you think I’d better go through with it.

“I mean 50% of mine [weddings] have been like that. One I knew the next morning. I adored him and I still do to this day but the next day I got up and I thought ‘why did we do that?’ That was a big mistake, but we had a great party.”

The red-haired panellist walked up the aisle of the chat show studio in a full white veil – holding a bouquet of roses. Once Janet had walked up the aisle instead of an anxious groom, she was confronted with a mirror and Frank Lampard was on hand to officiate – waiting with a certificate in hand.

“Do you Janet, take you Janet to be your lawfully wedded Janet?” Frank asked at the time to which the blushing bride responded: “Why the hell not!” Elsewhere on Monday’s show, it was Janet’s 1000th episode and show as they celebrated in the ITV studio.

My Mum, Your Dad’s Roger and Janey share huge relationship step one year after meeting

My Mum, Your dad couple Roger and Janey have shared a huge relationship bombshell a year after meeting on the ITV reality show, which has been billed as a middle aged Love Island

Roger and Janey from My Mum, Your dad have been dropping some serious relationship updates since their first encounter on the ITV reality show a year ago.

The lovebirds couldn’t hide their chemistry, with Roger revealing all during his chat on Loose Women. He told host Jane Moore about the instant spark, saying: “It didn’t show on the show itself but she just came in and I obviously liked what I saw straight away.”

Their connection was undeniable, as Roger shared: “We just hit it off; she just said randomly, ‘What am I like?’ and I said, ‘I know what you’re like!’ And everybody else was just looking at us and we were just off in our own little world!”

Curious about how things are going, Linda Robson quizzed Roger: “Have you moved in together or is it a long distance relationship?”

To which Roger admitted: “We’ve more or less moved in together. I spend a lot more time at Janey’s. The weather’s much better!”, reports OK!

Reflecting on their televised romance, an emotional moment unfolded when Jane asked: “Is it weird a year on to see the moment you first met on TV?”, leading Roger to confess: “It’s lovely to see but I was filling up watching it.”

Janey shared her emotional journey, saying: “When you see it, it’s like ‘oh no, don’t set me off.’ It was a very emotional time. There was anxiety, it was a big thing. It does take you back. It’s an outer body experience really.”

She also recounted the pivotal advice from her father: “We like Roger, don’t push him away,” which led her to tackle her personal issues head-on during a live TV appearance. Janey remembered: “They said, ‘So why are you here?’ and I could feel it coming, I wasn’t going to say anything but I thought, ‘I’ve got to be honest here,’ I know I’ve pushed people away in the past. There’s some traits in me and adopted people that you carry and never address it.”

Reflecting on her candid moment, she expressed pride: “I felt for the first time in my life, ‘Well done Janey, you’ve just gone and said it on live TV.’ You don’t even tell people you meet but thank goodness I did.

Linda Robson joined stand-in Lorraine host Christine Lampard on Friday to discuss a number of topics including her dream soap role, family life and supporting NHS workers.

But the host had to issue an apology when Linda revealed which soap she most wanted to work on.

Christine remarked: “There’s one thing on the list and it’s EastEnders isn’t it?”

“Oh yeah, I did do one wartime one Sibby Street years ago, I played Lou Bill’s sister Flo Bill but I have hinted a few times that even a little cameo role or whatever but I’d love to play a real b***h,” Linda replied.

Christine began laughing as Linda continued: “Or someone really nasty because I always get light parts.”

The host cut in: “You know it’s a funny thing because I thought, she knows it’s early morning, she’s not allowed to swear for me and you just let a little one slip so I’m sorry if no one likes that word.”

“What the B word?” asked Linda, as Christine scolded: “Don’t say any other words!”

The Loose Women host replied: “I didn’t realise it was a bad word,” as Christine explained they often had to tell her not to swear on Loose Women.

ITV Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford issues four word dig at Denise Welch after she ripped into guest

Loose Women viewers were left reeling after Gloria Hunniford delivered a brutal four-word dig to her co-star Denise Welch, a day after her explosive clash with a guest over Meghan Markle

Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford caught viewers off guard with a sharp four-word jibe towards co-star Denise Welch following her clash with a show guest.

Monday’s episode was hosted by Coleen Nolan, who was joined by panelists Gloria, Denise, and Brenda Edwards. However, they saw an unexpected bite from Gloria as Denise revealed her desire to leave the UK. As they chatted about how the Bank Holiday weather was affecting everyone’s moods, Gloria passionately declared her affection for the UK.

She stated: “I tell you what though… I wouldn’t live anywhere else. Simple as that. Because I could live in the sunshine.” Denise countered with: “I would.” Suddenly, Gloria hit back with a pointed remark: “When are you going?,” leaving the audience visibly shocked and Denise momentarily tongue-tied, managing only laughter in reply to the playful dig.

Brenda joined in with a surprised: “Wow!” Viewers quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the spicy dialogue, with one viewer remarking: “Gloria’s on fire today! ! #loosewomen.” Another added: “Oh wow, when said Gloria. When is Denise leaving?? #loosewomen.” Someone else perfectly captured the moment with one word: “Miaow!”.

Denise further explained: “There’s lots I love about this country but if I didn’t have my grandson now, I think I could leave.” Gloria, ever the optimistic one, reacted: “See now lots of reasons to stay,” and took a moment to reflect on the global situation. She said: “When you look at the world and other countries, you think, ‘This is not bad… the weather is.’”.

With a touch of resignation, Denise remarked: “Used to be – not now.” The show’s host, Coleen, tried to change the direction of the chat towards more positive areas, suggesting: “Anyway, onto to some feel good news please.” Earlier in the week, Denise shocked viewers as she ripped into a TV star live on the show.

The Loose Women panellist was seething on Monday when Dickie Arbiter, former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II and to King Charles III before he was crowned last year, was in the studio to speak about the monarch’s cancer battle. Dickie decided to address the elephant in the room – can the monarch ever repair his strained relationship with his son, Prince Harry?

Denise insisted she thought Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave Windsor and Frogmore Cottage behind was nothing short of logical. “If I may say, do you not think there is a reason why Harry did such a thing?”, she asked. Denise then summarised the heartbreak surrounding King Charles III’s family, wounds first stemming from the monarch’s marriage with Lady Diana “when he was in love with Camilla.”

“It ruined a lot of Diana’s life”, Denise claimed. The former Coronation Street star then recalled how Harry walked publicly behind his mother’s coffin and accepted Queen Camilla as his stepmother. “Then he has a wife who is completely and continually trashed by the media, including your good self”, Denise added while turning to Dickie. “I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets (…) we continually berate this woman every day.” Denise furiously doubled down: “Why would they not walk out? Why would they want to spend their life in a country that hated them?”

Jane McDonald says Lynda Bellingham is still ‘guiding her life’ from beyond the grave

Jane McDonald has revealed that she believes her late Loose Women co-star Lynda Bellingham – who died of cancer in 2014 – continues to ‘guide her life’ many years after her death

Jane McDonald says she believes the late Lynda Bellingham is still guiding her life in some ways years after her death.

Singer and TV star Jane, 61, appeared on Loose Women from 2004 until 2010 alongside Lynda and says she gave her other career breaks along the way.

The pair were very close friends when Lynda died in 2014 from cancer.

Jane said: “I owe such a lot to Lynda because she asked me to take over her Birmingham panto for that year when she was poorly. Thank goodness I did because through that I got Cats[Musical she appeared on stage in 2015], then through Cats and getting the vocal training that I did, that’s when my voice changed, and I went on to be able to sing just about anything – that’s all through Lynda.

“So I still think Lynda’s guiding us all in our own ways. Her and I became really, really good friends over the years of Loose Women. I’ll always be grateful to Lynda for guiding me a little bit because she was the first person that interviewed Ed for the job as my boyfriend. She says I need to see this guy, and the first thing she said to him, what are your intentions to my friend?”

Jane also told the White Wine Question time podcast(PLS REF) about her grief losing her partner Ed and how she struggled going on tour so soon after he died in March 2021. Musician Eddie Rothe and Jane had dated briefly in their teens and then rekindled the romance in 2008 but he died of lung cancer 13 years later.

Jane told the podcast: “We had the best 13 years. I think that’s why I’m in such a good place now, because I had the best time with that man, and I am blessed to have had that time with Ed. I was going to retire with Ed after lockdown so everything that I’m doing now, Kate, I think is a gift. He was a very, very special partner and not many people can say they’ve had that absolute love.”

She added: “I’d sold out a tour just after it all happened, and it gave me something to do, I think we all need to just carry on as much as we can. Obviously the emotion goes through your throat and I did lose it quite a lot on that last tour because I wasn’t in a very good place. Whereas now, with this tour, I’m in a totally different place and this is my thanks to everyone for propping me up when it all went wrong.”

Jane is now heading out on a new tour called With All My Love. She says it is “about finding love wherever you can find it” be it a partner or a pet or a friend.

Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time is available to listen to on all podcast platforms.

Denise Welch shocks as she rips into TV star live on air as they come to blows over Meghan Markle

Dickie Arbiter locked horns with Denise Welch on the set of Loose Women this Monday, May 6, as the panellist took a stand against the harsh criticism targeting Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle has come under fire more than once throughout her time on Prince Harry ‘s arm and Denise Welch has had enough of the relentless backlash.

The Loose Women panellist was seething this Monday, May 6, when Dickie Arbiter, former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II and to King Charles III before he was crowned last year, was in the studio to speak about the monarch’s cancer battle.

But while the conversation began smoothly, it inevitably took a turn when Dickie addressed the elephant in the room – can the monarch ever repair his strained relationship with his son, Prince Harry?

Royal fans will recall the latter snubbed life as a senior working royal alongside his wife Meghan for a fresh start across the Atlantic and the Duchess of Sussex has been more criticised than ever before since.

Meghan also faced a wave of criticism when she was first rumoured to be dating Prince Harry in 2016 and the couple have publicly condemned the negative media scrutiny they have both received, personally, as a couple and as parents for their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

For Denise, Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave Windsor and Frogmore Cottage behind was nothing short of logical and tensions emerged at lightning speed as she vehemently defended them – calling Dickie out for his own criticism of Meghan Markle.

“If I may say, do you not think there is a reason why Harry did such a thing?”, the 65-year-old initially asked, referring to the Duke’s decision to leave the UK for the US.

Denise then summarised the heartbreak surrounding King Charles III’s family, wounds first stemming from the monarch’s marriage with Lady Diana “when he was in love with Camilla.”

“It ruined a lot of Diana’s life”, Denise claimed. She then recalled how a young Prince Harry witnessed his mother’s death after a fatal car chase with paparazzi before he was forced to walk publicly behind her coffin and accept Queen Camilla as his stepmother.

“Then he has a wife who is completely and continually trashed by the media, including your good self”, Denise added while turning to Dickie, while some audience members began to applaud her. “I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets (…) we continually berate this woman every day.”

When Dickie argued that the Sussexes have received criticism over their choice to leave the Royal Family, Denise furiously doubled down: “Why would they not walk out? Why would they want to spend their life in a country that hated them?”

Coleen Nolan quickly intervened to stop the situation from escalating, reminding the panellist that she hadn’t expected a “debate” to take place in the studio. But Denise continued to seethe as she added: “don’t have a guest on (…) I can say what I like!”

The segment left many ITV viewers with their jaws dropped as they swarmed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. “Well done Denise, you wiped the floor with Dickie. Thankyou for not being scared to be a voice for H@M”, one of them commented.

Another agreed: “Makes me laugh that people are saying Denise isn’t nice for standing up for Meghan and Harry, yet it’s fine for so many “nice” people to have s****** them off for the past 6+ yrs”, just as a third applauded the panellist for her strong stance: “Well said Denise, you are the voice of fairness and reason.”

However, one TV watcher predicted a reprimand was ahead for Denise due to Coleen’s intervention. “I think Denise is going to be getting a firm talking to when @loosewomen is off air! However if she is passionate about a subject why shut her down? I thought #LooseWomen promotes strong women and opinions?”

Loose Women’s Linda Robson returns from holiday wearing glam River Island dress

The celeb-approved dress has also been spotted on Cat Deeley in the mini style, and is proving to be a hit with shoppers

Linda Robson has returned to our screens this week following a relaxing sunny getaway with her daughter. As she joined the rest of the Loose Women on Wednesday episode, she not only brought the laughter, but also graced us with some spring style inspiration in the form of a warm weather-ready midi dress from the high street.

The 66-year-old looked amazing in the Black Floral Puff Sleeve Shift Midi Dress , from River Island – and not for the first time either, with the Birds of a Feather actress having worn the dress a few weeks back on the show, too. The £50 dress boasts a large patterned floral print with on trend puff sleeves, perfect for showing off her tan,

The v-neck dress is belted so can be worn loose, or tied for a more cinched look, with side slip pockets that make it as practical as it is pretty, with the skirt falling to a midi length which is perfect for her 5’4” frame.

The suits-all dress – also coming in black and pink variations – is available in sizes 6-18 in the main line, but also comes in plus size where it goes up to a size 26 . It’s perfect for pairing with sandals or trainers for a sunny beach day, but looks equally as lovely dressed up with some heels and a clutch bag.

And she’s not the only celeb to love the pattern on this dreamy dress. Cat Deeley recently presented an episode of This Morning wearing its mini counterpart, which is the ultimate choice for showing off a little bit of leg.

The River Island Black Floral Puff Sleeve Swing Mini Dress has all the same design features as the midi, looking identical from the waist up. All that’s different is the shorter hemline, and a £5 price difference, coming in at £45.

The 47-year-old wore the mini dress with her own vintage Balmain boots to give it a bit of a 70s flair, but it would look just as smart with coloured heels and a matching bag for an evening event, or with white trainers and a raffia tote for a more laid back look.

Dickie Arbiter locked horns with Denise Welch on the set of Loose Women as the panellist took a stand against the harsh criticism targeting Meghan Markle – and now 103 viewers have complained to Ofcom

ITV’s Loose Women has been hit with 103 complaints from viewers after Denise Welch found herself in a furious rant at a TV guest earlier this week.

It all went down when Denise, 65, proved that she had had enough of hearing complaints about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The segment left many ITV viewers with their jaws dropped as they swarmed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. And while the majority of Loose Women viewers seem to have agreed with Denise’s sentiments, it seems that a substantial number of viewers were also left offended by her comments.

It has been confirmed that 103 furious viewers complained to regulator Ofcom about how Denise spoke out about the Royal Family and her reaction to Dickie’s views. Following her panel outburst, a number of trolls mocked Denise’s sobriety journey – but it didn’t take her long to hit back.

“Good old Denise”, the troll penned on X, formerly known asTwitter, “surprised she can stay sober enough to be able to partake in a debate.” But while the comment could have left Denise reeling, she quickly responded by directly addressing her online hater. “12 years Dougie!! Keep up,” she wrote.

Denise Welch has made no secret of her struggle with addiction, like many other stars who have taken the steps for an alcohol-free life. In 2023, the former Coronation Street actress celebrated 11 years of sobriety with a post on Instagram where she opened up about her “disastrous” relationship with booze and how giving up had helped her and husband Lincoln Townley turn their life around.

“11 yrs sober today!!! Giving up my disastrous relationship with alcohol changed my life, my husband’s life and my children’s lives. Plus the lives of all who love me”, she captioned her post.

“It wasn’t easy. Addiction is a cruel and frightening illness. But together @lincolntownley and I realised that we were destroying many lives including our own and we did it.” She’d then added: “I now have a wonderful marriage that is the foundation of my life. Our kids are happy and I hope those of you struggling find the strength to stop.”
