Exclusive: Linda Robson says Katie Price is desperate to be allowed back onto ITV’s Loose Women

Writing in her new book Truth Be Told, Loose Women star Linda Robson has claimed that Katie Price is desperate to get back on the panel – but she says the former glamour model ‘can’t behave’

Linda Robson has said pal Katie Price is desperate to be allowed back on Loose Women and while she admitted she worries about the former model, she told her: “Katie, you can’t f***ing behave yourself, can you?”.

She also said that a “couple of people have taken against me for whatever reason” on the show but refused to name her nemesis. Writing in her new book Truth Be Told, Linda said: “I love Katie Price but sometimes I think she deliberately tries to shock. I did an awards show with her once where we were both supposed to be presenting together but no one could find her anywhere.

“She eventually turned up with minutes to spare. When we got out on the stage, she started talking about herself and I had to tell her, ‘Oi! It ain’t about you today.

“Whenever I bump into her now, she tells me how she wants to come back to Loose Women. And I say, ‘But, Katie, you can’t f*** ing behave yourself, can you?’

“I do worry about her. Sometimes I thought she’d been out late the night before a show. She used to sleep in the car on her way in and would arrive in her pyjamas and get dressed when she got there. I used to think that was quite a good idea actually. She always made plenty of headlines whenever she was on, though.”

Linda, 65, is best known for playing Tracey Stubbs in sitcom Birds Of A Feather in two stints on BBC and ITV. But she made her first appearance on panel show Loose Women in 2012 and has been a regular almost ever since.

Turning to talk about possible bust ups on the ITV show, Linda added: “There’s never been anyone I’ve refused to sit on the panel with, although I can’t speak for others on the show in the past. No, I’m not mentioning any names!

“And I think a couple of people have taken against me for whatever reason. I remember going into the canteen once and seeing someone from the panel sitting there with another woman. As I was walking towards her, I could see she was doing this thing of talking behind her hand and looking at me at the same time. Subtle as a brick.

“Lauren[daughter] was with me and she said, ‘She doesn’t like you, does she, Mum?’ ‘I’m not sure, Lauren…’ ‘No, I really don’t think she does.’ As we reached her table, she suddenly broke off from whispering and was all gushy saying, ‘Oh, hiiiii, Linda! How are you?’, which just felt really fake.

“This was when I was starting out as a regular and I don’t know if certain people were feeling insecure because they were bringing new panellists in. Maybe she felt like she was going to be given the boot. And thinking about it, she didn’t last much longer! That had nothing to do with me, though. I don’t think any of us can presume we’re safe forever.”

Despite this issue, Linda has no regrets about signing up for Loose Women. She said: “Signing that permanent contract just over a decade ago was the start of a wonderful new chapter and the team has been right by my side both on and off screen as the most supportive group of friends you could wish for.”

Exclusive: ITV Loose Women’s Sunetra Sarker has first mammogram after losing two friends to cancer

In a bid to encourage other women to get their breasts checked with regular mammograms, Loose Women star Sunetra Sarker is putting her fears aside and taking the huge step in her health journey in honour of her beloved friends who have sadly passed away from cancer

Last year, Loose Women launched its landmark breast cancer campaign ‘Don’t Skip Your Screening’ to encourage women to book their potentially life-saving mammogram appointment when invited.

Today, Loose Women star Sunetra Sarker will continue to highlight the importance of screening – as she puts her health at the top of her to-do list and goes for her first-ever mammogram, sharing every step of the process with the viewers at home.

In November last year, Loose Women’s multi-award winning panel joined forces with Sarah, Duchess of York to launch the campaign and in the week after the special episode aired, visits to the breast screening and mammogram pages on the NHS website increased by a staggering one-third.

The brave move by Sunetra, 50, is particularly poignant for the actress and Loose Women favourite given the fact she lost two of her best friends to breast cancer last year. In a bid to encourage other women to get their breasts checked with regular mammograms, Sunetra is putting her fears aside and taking a huge step in her health journey in honour of her beloved friends who have sadly passed away from the disease.

Ahead of Thursday’s episode, Sunetra Sarker said:  After losing two of my best friends last year to cancer, I had a real wake-up call about how important screening actually is. It’s very easy to hide your head in the sand over these issues but we have to do it together. We have to catch everything we can, as early as possible. You get to a certain age and it becomes even more important than it did last year, and every year that goes on. We can’t keep burying our head in the sand and I owe it to my friends to make sure I do this.”

Sharing a message with Loose Women fans, Sunetra added: “If you’ve got any friends or family that you’ve lost [to breast cancer], you owe it to them to have a screening.”

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK. Most women diagnosed with breast cancer are over the age of 50, but younger women can also get breast cancer.

About 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. There’s a good chance of recovery if it’s detected at an early stage. For this reason, it’s vital that women check their breasts regularly for any changes and always have any changes examined by a GP.

Breast cancer can have several symptoms, but the first noticeable symptom is usually a lump or area of thickened breast tissue. Other symptoms include a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts, a lump or swelling in either of your armpits, dimpling on the skin of your breasts, or a rash on or around your nipple.

Brenda Edwards supported by Loose Women pals as she marks anniversary of son Jamal’s tragic death

Brenda Edwards put on a brave face as she marked the second anniversary of her son Jamal Edwards’ death on Tuesday, with the Loose Women star admitting his passing still feels ‘so raw’

Brenda Edwards celebrated the life of son Jamal Edwards on the second anniversary of his death on Tuesday.

The Loose Women panellist, 54, wore a sparkly jumpsuit with a plunging neckline that nipped in with a belt at the waist for an event honouring the life of her late son in London. The former X Factor star teamed the navy blue number with a silver choker necklace and a pair of hoop earrings.

Smiling for some photos inside the venue, Brenda was joined by a host of guests, including her co-star Linda Robson. Her son, music producer Jamal, tragically died after a cardiac arrest brought on by taking cocaine and drinking alcohol in February 2022 at the age of 31.

Taking to social media on the same day, Brenda paid tribute to her late son and admitted she wishes she could “rewind time” to have him back. The brave star was supported by Loose Women stars past and present, with Kate Thornton telling Brenda: “Sending so much love to you. He is greatly missed and never more so than by you, his incredible mum.”

Music mogul Jamal, who had an MBE, was a music entrepreneur, DJ and was the founder of the online music platform SBTV. His death was announced on 20th February 2022, with a coroner later concluding that the young star had consumed cocaine and alcohol before later dying from a heart attack.

Writing alongside a collection of pictures of her late son on Instagram on Tuesday, Brenda penned: “@jamaledwards the pain of 2 years ago today still feels so raw. I miss you so much baby, I keep wishing I could rewind time to have you back with me, this hurt is indescribable, I will celebrate your incredible life and legacy now and forevermore . Love you always Jamms #angelinheaven.”

“Thinking of you today. Sending you love and the tightest hug,” Ruth Langsford commented underneath Brenda’s moving post, with Coleen Nolan adding: “Love you B … we are all here for you and Jamal will always be with you!!” Katie Piper, another of Brenda’s Loose Women co-stars added four blue heart emojis, while a fan told the star: “Can’t believe it’s been two years already. He’s never forgotten and his presence is missed. Thinking of you and T x.”

Last year, Ed Sheeran paid an emotional tribute to Jamal during a heartrending performance at London’s Eventim Apollo. The Shape of You singer, who was close friend with Jamal, broke down on stage in May as he confessed he was “I’m still not over it, and I don’t want to be.”

It’s been two years since Brenda lost her beloved son

During the show, Ed remembered the last time they were at the venue together, watching a comedy show. Overcome with emotion, he said: “The first time I ever played this song, I cried when I introduced it, I cried at the start, I cried at the end and… I’m going to cry now.” In an emotional moment, the singer wiped away tears before sharing that singing these songs felt “cathartic”.

The dad-of-two shared that he feels songs are his until he “put them out there” and then they belong to everyone. Fans share them and “relate” to the music. Ed then spoke about how “s*** just happens” when you grow up and “everyone goes through it”. Before singing Life Goes On, he said: “I felt like when Jamal passed away that I wanted the world to just stop, like it did when the Queen died.” He confessed he “didn’t feel ready” and still doesn’t, saying people expect you to be sad for a bit and then get over it. “I’m still not over it, and I don’t want to be,” Ed admitted, talking about his sadness after his friend Jamal’s death.

ITV Loose Women’s Linda Robson selling London home after admitting being ‘unhappy for years’

ITV Loose Women star Linda Robson is moving on after splitting from husband of 33 years Mark Dunford – but insists she has no plans to date in her 60s following her divorce

Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed she is selling her London home after splitting from her husband of 33 years.

The 65-year-old actress, who is most famous for starring in sitcom Birds of a Feather, lived in the property with ex Mark Dunford, who she married in 1990. It’s also been the place for family gatherings as Linda and Mark share two children, son Louis, 31, and 27-year-old daughter Roberta. While Linda has an older daughter Lauren, 40, from a previous relationship.

But now she is single again, Linda has announced she plans to downsize after admitting being “unhappy” in her home with Mark for years and is now making plans to move into a two-bedroom house where there is enough room for her, the dog and her grandkids.

She said: “I’m going to live in a two-bedroom house for my grandchildren. Me and the dog and the two grandkids. I want to be right near Lauren [her eldest daughter] and between me and my sister.”

    Linda Robson

In an interview with Woman magazine, Linda was asked if she would be sad to wave goodbye to a house full of memories, but in what could be a hint at her marriage problems, she shared: “Yes I’ll miss it. But the last few years I haven’t that happy.”

Linda confirmed her and Mark’s marriage was over in September last year following months of speculation the pair were on the rocks. It came two months after her bombshell admission on a live Loose Women show that the pair hadn’t had sex in two years. Linda also said she was the sociable one in the relationship, while Mark “never enjoyed that side of things”.

And things haven’t been right in my relationship for quite a long time so erm, I’ve been very honest about it.” But she insisted she is “not looking for anyone” and “can’t be f*****” with dating in her 60s. Before marrying Mark Linda was in an 11-year relationship with ex Tony Tyler, the father of her eldest daughter Lauren.

She shared: “I’ve had two loves of my life and now my grandchildren are the love of my life and my children. So no I’m not looking for anyone.” Of Mark, she said: “He’s a really good dad and we had some good years, but enough is enough. I’ve got my family and my kids around me.” Talking about her plans for the future, she said: “I’m going on a cruise with [Birds of a Feather co star] Lesley Joseph in November. I’m keeping busy. I feel fine. I’m just going away on trips all the time.”

Loose Women’s Linda Robson emotional as she thanks co-stars for supporting her during rehab stint

Linda Robson’s battle with alcoholism led to three stints in rehab and clinics until she was diagnosed with a rare allergic reaction to an antidepressant

Loose Women’s Linda Robson got emotional as she thanked her amazing co-stars for supporting her during her rehab stint.

Linda, 65, previously opened up about struggling with insomnia, and OCD and was even put on suicide watch at one point after suffering a breakdown. She said her mental health crisis dates back to 2008, when Ben Kinsella, a close family friend of Linda’s, was murdered at the age of 16.

The Birds of a Feather actress said her sleeping pill usage increased and so did her enjoyment of alcohol, admitting she went from supping a glass a night to a bottle an evening ahead of her 60th birthday. Her battle with alcoholism led to three stints in rehab and clinics until she was diagnosed with a rare allergic reaction to an antidepressant.

On Friday’s International Women’s Day edition of Loose Women, Linda thanked the panellists for their support over the years. “You lot, when I had my depression and anxiety and had to go into rehab. You lot were the ones that were there and supported me,” she said.

She then turned to Frankie Bridge and said: “You weren’t here then, but you would have been there. Everyone was ringing my family, checking to see how I was every day, you were all amazing. We were out in Ibiza for a boot camp and I had a proper breakdown. Stacey [Solomon] had to bring me home a day early because I couldn’t get through the day.

“You were all amazing. I didn’t have a phone but you guys were ringing my kids all the time to see how I was.” Co-panellist Nadia Sawalha told her pal: “You are our friend and you were in such a sad and unhappy place. Just as human beings, we swelled towards you.”

Linda previously discussed how the Loose Women’s Ibiza getaway resulted in her being admitted to rehab. She talked about how the holiday with Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha, Andrea McLean, Kaye Adams and Saira Khan in June 2018 did not end how she hoped after her colleagues and pals realised she was in a bad place.

“I was trying to act normal and be part of the gang, but I was struggling to get through the day”, she explained. She said that she took a couple of bottles of vodka which she drank to try and knock herself out at night but it did not work. “I’d already had a couple of sleepless nights and, by the third, I ended up having a proper meltdown,” she shared.

She added that she “wanted to die” because she “wasn’t enjoying life anymore”. Her co-hosts were so worried about her that they contacted her family and it was decided that she would go back to the UK and straight to a rehab facility in London. Stacey came with her during her “terrible state” and helped her find a clinic.

ITV flagship show taken off air for most of week in sudden shake-up

ITV won’t be airing one of its daytime shows for four days this week to accommodate Cheltenham Festival, though a host of its other shows are unaffected by the event

Loose Women is being replaced in the TV schedule later this week, with it taking a temporary break for a few days.

The ITV panel show airs weekdays around midday but it’s been replaced in the channel’s schedule for four days this week. The show won’t air between Tuesday and Friday due to the broadcaster’s coverage of Cheltenham Festival.

The ITV Lunchtime News typically follows Loose Women at 1.30pm but has been brought forward an hour, falling into the former’s usual slot. It’s to accommodate the horse racing event, which is due to air from 1pm to 4.30pm for much of this week, which covers the other half of Loose Women’s usual slot.

And although fans may be disappointed by the news, Loose Women won’t be off air for long. The show is scheduled to return next Monday (March 18) once Cheltenham Festival, which runs from March 12 to 15 this year, has concluded.

ITV hasn’t altered its morning line-up of shows though. Good Morning Britain, which airs from 6am to 9am, will be broadcast as usual this week. It will be followed by Lorraine from 9am to 10am each day. Similarly, This Morning, which usually airs from 10am to 12.30pm in the slot immediately before Loose Women, isn’t affected either and will air as usual.

It’s the latest instance of Loose Women being replaced in the schedule, with coverage of the chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s Spring Budget having taken its slot on Wednesday afternoon just last week. This Morning was also affected, with that show having ended earlier than usual that morning.

Ahead of its absence later this week, Monday’s episode of Loose Women promises to be a “very glamorous show”. It comes following the Academy Awards – which is typically known as the Oscars – having taken place on the weekend. The awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch and Katie Piper will be on the panel of the ITV show later to discuss the winners in a special episode. The panellists will be joined by actor Nigel Havers, whose career has included starring in the acclaimed Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire (1981).Loose Women’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter, teased in a post on the platform: “We’re starting the week with an Oscars special! Ruth, Coleen, Denise and Katie will be joined by Nigel Havers for a very glamorous show that you really won’t want to miss. Tune in at 12.30 on ITV1.”

ITV Loose Women star points out one detail in Kate Middleton photo that makes ‘mockery of public’

Denise Welch appeared on Loose Women today where they discussed the manipulated photo of Kate Middleton and her three children – George, Charlotte and Louis

Loose Women star Denise Welch fumed as she slammed the editing of a photo of the Princess of Wales.

After much speculation, today the Princess of Wales put out a tweet on social media where she said she had edited a photo of her and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She wrote on social media: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The topic was still a big discussion today on Loose Women, where the panellists including Denise Welch and Ruth Langsford discussed the edited photograph amid the furore of public discussion and conspiracy theories.

Speaking on the show today, she said: “Apparently, there are huge rules that the big picture agencies around the world follow that they say they will not use photos that have been doctored or Photoshopped. I talked about Kate Middleton last week and received a barrage of negative messages online about it. I, like everyone else, have nothing against Kate Middleton, I wish her the best of luck in everything she does. I am also supportive of the Sussexes but apparently you have to be one or the other.

“My point was why are they allowing this controversy and conjecture to continue. Also, it was the way we were blindly led to believe that it had been posted post-surgery. It could have been anytime. Do I believe Catherine Middleton, who has said nothing about her illness has suddenly come up to justify Photoshopping a photo, no I don’t.”

She continued: “Do I think that the PR team at Kensington Palace should be fired? Yes I do. I think they’re absolutely making a mockery. I would just like to say quickly – whether Kate did it or the PR did it, the photo has been doctored. Why when there is all this speculation behind the scenes would they put a picture of her without her wedding ring. Why? If you’re gonna Photoshop it, Photoshop your ring on Catherine, because that’s just caused another [furore].”

Lorraine Kelly branded the edit “stupid”. She said earlier today: “What an own goal, this has backfired spectacularly. It was supposed to put to rest all the conspiracy theories and now everyone is talking about the images having been doctored in some way.

“It’s clumsy, you can give them the benefit of the doubt, but it does show you what scrutiny they’re always under. What a stupid thing to do – if they have done that, it’s dumb I think is the word.”

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan urges smokers to quit now after terrifying health scare

Coleen Nolan said she ‘feared she was going to die’ as she battled to breathe as a result of an acute chest infection she believes was worsened by her 40 year smoking habit

Singer and presenter Coleen Nolan has urged smokers to follow in her footsteps after she kicked the habit after 40 years of smoking.

The 58-year-old recently opened up about how she thought she was “going to die” when she was struggling to breathe as a result of an acute chest infection.

After the health scare she gave up cigarettes and has not smoked for more than three months.

The Loose Women presenter, who rose to fame as a child singing with her sisters in The Nolans, said she was not aware of the health risks when she first started smoking. She has joined forces with leading health charities Cancer Research UK, Action on Smoking and Health (Ash) and Asthma and Lung UK and the Government to urge smokers to quit on No Smoking Day.

“I smoked for about 40 years and was heavily influenced by my friends and family around me,” she said. “At such a young age I wasn’t aware of the health risks of smoking and soon found myself becoming addicted.”

“Following a recent health scare, I realised how precious life is and became determined to quit, not just for my own health, but so I can be there fully for my children and grandchildren. To anyone out there thinking of giving up smoking, my advice is do it.”

The new campaign urges England’s 5.3 million smokers to make a quit attempt through their local stop smoking services, which can be found through the Better Health NHS tool.

Professor Sir Chris Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, said: “Cigarettes kill. They cause at least 15 different types of cancers and increase your risk of developing more than 50 serious health conditions.”

“Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health no matter your age or how long you have smoked.”

Public health minister Dame Andrea Leadsom said: “Cigarettes are responsible for 64,000 deaths a year in England no other consumer product kills up to two-thirds of its users.”

For free support to stop smoking, people are urged to search “smokefree”.

Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford sent fans wild as she donned a fabulous 70’s outfit to celebrate the 30th birthday of her close pal alongside stars including Denise Van Outen

Many are perhaps used to seeing presenter Ruth Langsford looking rather conservative while on the panel of Loose Women.

But Ruth showed off a more fun-loving side to her character when she sported a 1970’s outfit for a friend’s themed birthday bash. Wearing a pair of heart shaped pink tinted glasses, Ruth complimented her look with a shiny black top underneath a multi-coloured sequined jacket. The TV personality, 63, who is married to Eamon Holmes, completed her look with a pair of denim jeans and gold high heeled shoes. In a series of stories on her Instagram, Ruth first posted a video of her and a pal in a dressing room with a caption that read: “Uber on it’s way sweetie!”

The next video was of her getting into the party spirit as she filmed her self dancing before heading to the bash. She captioned the video saying: “You jivin hun?” The next few clips were of the birthday girl named Liv Davey, who appears to be a make-up artist. In another video, Liv is seen dancing alongside Denise Van Outen, who was DJing, while having the time of her life. Denise also shared clips on Instagram, writing: “Happy 30th Liv!”

In a picture, it seems as though Ruth is looking to add more strings to her bow as she was snapped imitating a DJ. Earlier this month, Ruth sent fans into hysterics when she attempted the “of course” trend that is taking social media by storm.

The trend sees people address stereotypes or perceptions related to their particular careers or identity. Keeping up to date with the current trend, Ruth was seen posing in an outfit from her QVC clothing range as she told viewers: “I’m Ruth Langsford… of course I always model my own designs.” She was then seen standing in a kitchen, where she teased tea preferences.

She added: “I’m Ruth Langsford… of course, I always have Earl Grey tea in a porcelain teacup.” The former This Morning host was also filmed having her hair and makeup done. She teased: “I’m Ruth Langsford … of course, I have my own personal hair and makeup team.” She then jokingly told a member of her glam squad: “My toes will need shaving.”

The TV personality was next seen ringing a bell demanding champagne. After being handed a glass, she commented: “I’m Ruth Langsford… of course I drink champagne at the end of a photoshoot. Cheers.” Taking just a sip of the fizzy drink, she is then seen spitting out the drink questioning if it was prosecco instead. Looking disgusted she said: “Urgh! Is that prosecco? Is that prosecco?” Looking at the camera with her hand out towards it, she then joked: “Turn that off! I’ve never been so insulted in my life. Turn it off!”

Emily said that one side of her bump was feeling different to the other and commented: “Oh, it’s settling down now, nearly. It’s all gone on this side but this side feels empty. This side feels like a rock.” Peter captioned the video: “The braxtons are real. Apparently it’s my fault cos I made her laugh. I’ll take that.”

Braxton Hicks contractions are false labour pains that occur during the latter stages of a pregnancy and are the body’s way of preparing for the actual labour. While Peter and Emily have been keeping their due date secret, the Braxton Hicks are an indication for when their third child together will be arriving. The couple already have nine year old daughter Amelia and seven year old Theo. Peter is also father to son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 16, with his ex-wife Katie Price.

Writing recently in his OK! column, Peter revealed: “Honestly, I don’t mind what the gender is as long as they’re happy and healthy. I’ve got two girls and two boys already and they’re all amazing in their own way.” Meanwhile, during an appearance on Loose Women, Emily told the panel that this pregnancy had been her “toughest yet” and that she had been feeling quite sick throughout. Panellist Nadia Sawalha then joked: “That means it’s a boy!”

Nadia then performed a test on Emily in which she used a ring on a string to determine the baby’s gender. Holding it over the doctor’s stomach. Nadia said that if the rings moves in a circle then it means it will be a girl, which if the ring swung back and forth, it indicated it was a boy. When the ring started moving back and forth, Nadia and the audience cheered as the Loose Women star announced: “It’s official, it’s a boy… you heard it here first! There are no more surprises now! “.
