Loose Men is to return on Friday for a special episode to tackle men’s health taboos, with Jake Quickenden set to receive a testicular examination in front of a studio audience on the show

Loose Men is to return on Friday for a special episode to tackle men’s health taboos.

The male-led version of the popular show Loose Women will return to ITV1 on Friday 18th November at 12.30pm, to mark International Men’s Day this weekend. Vernon Kay is set to host whilst he will be joined by actor Larry Lamb, singer Olly Murs and TV and sports personality Ade Adepitan MBE

The discussions will focus around men’s health, love and loneliness in a bid to tackle taboos. I’m A Celebrity star Jake Quickenden will also speak about his health anxiety after losing his father and brother to cancer. He will receive a testicular examination from Good Morning Britain and Lorraine’s doctor, Dr Amir Khan, in front of a studio audience on the show.

Speaking about his hosting duties, Vernon said: “It’s always exciting to host Loose Men and in general, it’s really important to talk about both men’s physical and mental health. This particular show will highlight how important it is for men to not succumb to the stigma of talking about body issues – let’s get rid of all that! I’ll be joined by a new panel this time and I always find it interesting to hear about the different things people have been through and their thoughts too.”

Ade Adepitan will be making his debut on Loose Men tomorrow and is excited to share the panel with his co-stars.

He added: “It’s an honour to be part of this panel and have a platform to talk about the issues that affect us all as men. If we can help at least one guy off the back of this, then it’s worth it. This is also my first time on the panel and I have no doubt that even I will learn a thing or two from the gentlemen sitting beside me on the show!”

Actor Larry Lamb said of his stint on the show: “I’ve enjoyed every moment of being a guest on Loose Women over the years and I think a show like Loose Men is very, very, very much needed.

“Men don’t talk enough and frankly, men need to and see other men talking. It’s a huge necessity to get guys talking and for other men to understand that if they’ve got feelings that they feel odd about, there’s a way to climb out of that.”

Olly Murs hopes he can encourage other men to talk about their thoughts and feelings.

“I’m looking forward to sitting on the panel for Loose Men, to celebrate International Men’s Day. I’ve always been a pretty open book, so hopefully it will encourage more men to talk and share their thoughts and feelings on lots of issues,” he said.

Loose Women star points out Matt Hancock’s underhanded dig at I’m A Celebrity’s Jill Scott

Judi Love was not impressed by Matt Hancock’s leadership skills, when the campmates were allowed to put forward who they wanted to do the next trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Judi Love was quick to call out Matt Hancock ‘s leadership skills, or lack of, as camp leader in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

The Loose Women panellists were left shocked after Wednesday night’s (16 November) instalment of the ITV reality show, that saw Lioness Jill Scott be talked over by her male campmates as she volunteered for the trial.

Former Conservative MP Matt, put himself forward for the trial without even asking if any of the other celebrities would like to do it as Jill could be heard saying: “I don’t mind doing it.”

As the leader of the camp, Kelly Holmes was unimpressed that Matt didn’t demonstrate his ‘leadership skills’ by asking if anyone else would like to do the trial, as he’d already done so many.

Loose Women's Judi Love points out Matt Hancock's under-handed dig at Jill
Judi Love said that Matt Hancock showed he wasn’t a “proper leader” on I’m A Celeb by not holding a vote for who should do the trial

“She would probably in normal situations be right up there, and I don’t know what it was about that,” Kelly began.

“Matt Hancock put his hand up again and again,” she continued, “And he should have been a proper leader, a true leader, he should have said right who hasn’t done and who wants to do a trial? I’ve done loads, right, Jill, Mike, whatever, he should have led that.”

Judi replied: “You said it right, if he was a proper leader.”

Judi and the panellists were surprised when Jill Scott was overlooked and didn’t speak up about doing the trial
Despite the celebrities picking Mike Tindall MBE, hungry boy Owen Warner and Matt to do the trial, snippets ahead of tonight’s episode do see the Lioness take part in the fun-fair themed tasks.

The panellist’s criticism of Matt comes after there have been over 1,000 Ofcom complaints about the former Health Secretary competing in the reality series.

Meanwhile, England footballer, Jill, has become a fan-favourite amongst viewers for supporting Owen and her cracking one-liners, and she has even been dubbed “Queen Jill.”

Kelly Holmes agreed that if Matt was a “true leader” he would have asked if anyone else wanted to do the trial, not just volunteered himself again

“Can we now collectively agree Jill is queen of the jungle,” one fan tweeted, as another agreed: “Jill is such an angel.”

Before other fans cited some of her one-liners including “Just be clear are these guidelines, or rules?” in reference to Matt saying he broke his own guidelines with an affair, but not the rules or laws set out.

And another Matt-related quip included after their run around the camp, she said “If he collapses, I’m not giving mouth to mouth” and left everyone laughing.

Corrie star Stephanie Beacham ‘wants Liz Truss in jail’ as Loose Women chat cut short

The former Coronation Street actress Stephanie Beacham made the dig at the former Prime Minister as she appeared on Loose Women, after the autumn budget had been announced

Coronation Street star Stephanie Beacham has joked that she wants the former Prime Minister Liz Truss to be put in jail, after her latest interview was cut short.

The 75-year-old soap star appeared on Loose Women to talk about her return to Weatherfield, where she is set to cause havoc for her former on-screen flame Ken played by soap legend Bill Roache.

However, Loose Women aired a shorter programme today due to ITV hosting a special news programme at 11.15am, as the government outlined their Autumn budget after the disastrous mini budget last month.

As a result, the daytime talk show started late at almost 12:45pm, which meant that their interview with Stephanie was cut short as they only had around 45 minutes airtime in total for the episode.

As their conversation came to an end, Kaye Adams said that Stephanie should “blame” Jeremy Hunt for their chat being brought to a swift end, as he led the budget announcement.

Stephanie replied: “I will blame Jeremy Hunt quite a lot I think,” before she joked: “But I think I want Liz Truss in jail first.”

The off-hand comment about the former Conservative Prime Minister left the panel in stitches, as she held a straight face for the studio audience.

Olly Murs has admitted that he would have been “fuming” if his fiancée had proposed to him.

The popular hitmaker, 38, popped the question to bodybuilder girlfriend Amelia Tank during a romantic holiday during the summer.

However, during his appearance on Loose Men today, he admitted he wouldn’t have been happy if the shoe had been on the other foot – and warned her against proposing to him.

Quizzed on how he would have reacted, he said: “I’d have been fuming! I really wanted to do it, it was something I – personally – had been thinking about for a long time.

“We actually had a conversation where I was like, ‘Don’t you dare propose to me!’ Because she’s quite spontaneous so she probably would have done it. We were saying off air it was something I’ve wanted to do for such a long time – for me, I know that Amelia has been planning her wedding day for so long, for years, what dress she’s gonna do and all that.

“Yeah, I mean I struggled to get down on one knee because I’ve got bad knees!” Olly replied. “My I managed to do it and she said yes and she loved it. I think because of our relationship and how we are and her not being a celebrity and stuff, it was important for me to propose to show that I was committed to her. So I think it was great that we did it that way.”

Olly managed to capture the sweet moment he proposed on camera as a tear-jerking clip saw sweet Amelia jump into her fiancé’s arms before planting a passionate kiss on his lips after he finally popped the all-important question.

Dear Darlin’ singer Olly also took to his social media channels to share the happy news as he posted a sweet snap of himself and Amelia sharing a passionate hug after the romantic proposal.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Charlene White has been speaking about her strong reaction to seeing disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock entering the camp

Loose Women’s Denise Welch stuck up for her co-star Charlene White as she left the jungle – and took a dig at Matt Hancock in the same swoop.

Denise took to Twitter to praise Charlene, 42, after she became the first campmate to be voted out of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this year.

The opinionated 64-year-old presenter, who is also friends with campmate and Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, 59, wrote: “Charlene missed her babies. She stuck to her principles.

“People have very short memories regarding Hancock. I’m very proud of my friends Charlene and Sue.”

Denise was supported by her followers, one wrote: “I still can’t believe there’s people defending him. They obviously didn’t go through the pain of losing a loved one and not being able to be with them.

“Try losing both your grandma’s in the same week after not being able to see them for 18 months.”

Charlene says she was put in an impossible position by ITV when they put Matt Hancock in the jungle.

The ITV newsreader feared she would lose her job if she was seen to be too sympathetic to the disgraced ex-Health Secretary.

Charlene, who lost an aunt to Covid, said she “walked a tightrope” as she tried to remain impartial.

But she admitted she couldn’t get the families still grieving after the pandemic out of her mind.

And, after being the first contestant voted out of the show on Friday night, she also tearfully revealed regrets at not fully explaining her reasons for refusing to sleep in the comfy RV bed.

The Loose Women presenter told The Mirror and other press: “Being there and having a laugh and having a joke – that kind of finished when Matt came.

“Because I have interviewed enough of the families who have lost loved ones during the pandemic.

“I am one of those. As soon as he walked in I thought ‘I’m going to be walking a tightrope here’.”

The mum-of-two said she felt she had to represent bereaved families. She added: “If I don’t think about them and ask the questions they want to know regarding his reasoning for going into the jungle when we are in the middle of the inquiry into the reaction after the pandemic… then I’m not doing my job.

“It went from me just having a laugh to constantly worrying… whether I would still be taken seriously when it comes to dealing with politicians.

“And whether viewers would think I was being too sympathetic to the Conservative party. I was constantly going through inner turmoil.”

But one of the reasons she may have struggled to win votes was a row over the sleeping situation – dubbed “RV Gate” by fans and hosts Ant and Dec.

As deputy camp leader to Hancock, Charlene was supposed to sleep in a comfy bed next to him in the motorhome, but she refused.

In the show, Charlene blamed her refusal on a spider – but last night explained really she was terrified she would lose her journalistic intergrity by bedding down next to Matt.

Fighting back tears, she said: “I didn’t want to get out of the jungle to find that I had no job.

“I was completely wrong not to be more explicit about it. I understand that now. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.” Despite the pain and worry, Charlene, who had three showers within hours of leaving camp to feel properly clean, has fond memories of her jungle experience.

Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver was like a sister or best friend, she said – and offered handy advice for cooking camp meals.

“There were vegetables I had never heard of and meats I didn’t even know could be meats!”, Charlene says, from a plush Gold Coast hotel. “But Sue, her knowledge of food was absolutely unbelievable.”

One of the hardest parts for the mum was leaving her family in London – viewers saw her get emotional over a family snap.

“Awaab’s death makes me so emotional because it takes me back to a time when I was living in social housing, fighting my housing company due to the damp that was taking over my home. My son ended up in intensive care because of similar breathing complications.

“No one should be forced to live in such conditions. I feel that both class and race are major factors in why Awaab’s family were not listened to when they asked for help. I sincerely hope that they are served justice of some kind.”

In his letter he warned providers: “I want to be clear about what this must mean in relation to damp and mould, as I have been made aware of many cases where this has gone unaddressed for far too long and am concerned that they are not treated with sufficient seriousness.

“Where people complain about damp and mould, you must listen; where you find them, you must take prompt action. To keep tenants safe, you must not hide behind legal process.”

Mr Gove, in the letter to council leaders, calls the death of Awaab an “avoidable loss”.

ITV schedule shake up sees This Morning & Loose Women taken off air for World Cup coverage

ITV usually airs it daytime programmes – Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women – from 9am but they are being replaced today by coverage of the FIFA World Cup live from Qatar

ITV have taken Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women off air in a schedule shake up to make way for the World Cup.

Whilst Good Morning Britain aired as normal today, until 9am, there will be no Lorraine – hosted by Lorraine Kelly – this morning due to the FIFA World Cup coverage live from Qatar. This Morning and Loose Women will also be off air today, as the football coverage continues throughout the day with two games – Argentina vs Saudi Arabia and Denmark vs Tunisia.

Both ITV and BBC will be seeing huge changes to their usual TV schedules to make way for them to air the football games, as the broadcasters, who are usually rivals, team up to cover the matches live from the Middle East.

Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said of the changes: “The World Cup is now in focus and we’re delighted to be able to bring viewers coverage of what promises to be some of the standout games of the tournament across ITV channels and our new free streaming service ITVX, which launches this autumn. We’re kicking-off with the opening match and will show England’s group stage match against the USA as well as games involving tournament favourites such as Brazil, France, Argentina, Spain and the Netherlands. Plus, we have picks one and two of the round of 16 and pick one of the quarter-finals.

ITV)On Good Morning Britain today, Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver chatted about her exit from I’m A Celebrity, where she admitted it was a “slog” being in there and she found it “disorientating” without any sense of time.

“You are literally looking at the sun and trying to figure out what time of day it is and where the sun is in the sky, you’ve lost all track of time, you’re sleep deprived, you don’t know what time you’re going to bed, you don’t know what time you’re getting up, so it’s very disorientating and I don’t think you realise that when you watch the show,” she said, “I mean, I’ve watched the show from the beginning, I’ve been the best armchair critic there could be but until you’re actually in there it’s hard, it’s a really hard slog.”
