Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has shared with fans she will no be in attendance at this evening’s National Television Awards after falling ill
Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha is the latest to pull out of this year’s National Television Awards after falling ill.
The 57-year-old presenter has been left bedridden with a mystery virus she suspects could be the latest strain of Covid-19.
Nadia and her Loose Women co-stars have been nominated for the Best Daytime award at the NTAs, which will return to ITV hosted by Joel Dommett.
The awards were initially postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but the 27th annual prize ceremony will now take place on Thursday at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, with the results broadcast live.

However, Nadia will no longer be among those in attendance after posting a new YouTube video filmed from her sickbed.
The Loose Women star held up her tickets in the video and told fans that she is too sick to make it, saying: “Look what I just got delivered on a bike. It’s very fancy. National Television Awards.”
“There it all is. Guess who won’t be going to the National Television Awards?”
Sighing, Nadia continued: “I’ve got such a lovely dress – I’ve got three lovely dresses I can choose from.
“My friend Simone was coming over to do my make-up, I’m supposed to be going with my friend Jordan in the car.

“Jane [Moore] and Kaye [Adams] are going. All the girls are going. Party afterwards. Nope.”
This comes after Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were reportedly forced to pull out of a Britain’s Got Talent special due to illness.
Instead, their friend and former Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen Mulhern has been called in to replace the duo.
The pair have postponed all work commitments until they recover, an ITV spokesperson has confirmed.
This likely means that they may not be attending the NTAs – during which they’ve consistently won the best TV presenter award for 20 years.

Image: GoffPhotos.com)Ant and Dec were due to present a two-hour special Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician, which brings together the world’s most memorable and greatest magicians from past series to compete and become the ultimate champion and win £50,000.
NTA host Joel recently spoke about his preparation for the awards ceremony, and shared that he goes through a dry run of his jokes with Ant and Dec.
He explained: “They are such good laughers and they really concentrate, because they obviously understand it from your perspective.
“So every joke, I go to them and they do their little Geordie laugh.”
Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan, 57, has dished the dirt on her sex life, telling Linda Robson and Janet Street-Porter ‘intimacy definitely gets better with age’
Coleen Nolan floored her Loose Women pals with details about her “fabulous” sex life.
The panel were discussing whether intimacy gets better with age, with mum-of-three Coleen, 57, affirming that it “definitely” does.
The Nolan Sister, who has opened up about experiencing low-self esteem, told Linda Robson and Janet Street-Porter: “If you’re with the right person, it’s the best thing ever.”
Coleen continued: “You get to a certain age, and people think you shouldn’t have sex anymore or are horrified that you still have sex.”
“To be honest with you when I spent the last 4 or 5 years on my own. I never thought I’d have it [sex] again.
“I missed the intimacy. But I think it’s because I had low self-esteem when it came to my own body. That’s just too embarrassing being naked in front of somebody at this age.
“And then I did [partake in sex], and it was fabulous.”
Coleen Nolan said intimacy gets better with age
As the audience whooped and cheered, she added: “Maybe also now, this is it, take it or leave it. I’ve clearly taken it and I feel in a much better place.”
Asking Coleen what caused her low self-esteem, Janet said: “What was the trigger?”
The presenter replied: “Being in the public eye and also my last marriage, I lost all of my self-esteem.
“I lost my sexy and attractiveness. I thought it all had gone and that I’d never get that again.
Her Loose Women pals were stunned by her candid admission
“But for me, it’s never too late, you’re never too old, and if you’re with the right person, it’s the best thing ever.”.
Earlier this year the presenter unmasked the mystery man she fell for after matching on Tinder – saying they might even get married.
However, Coleen split from her boyfriend Michael Jones after a year together.

The 30-year-old dubbed himself a ‘failure’ as he admitted his current plight, revealing he was surviving on universal credit amid the current cost of living crisis.
However fans rushed to his defence, with one pointing out: “everyone goes through hardships”.
The Loose Women panel discussed Maxine, the Channel 5 drama about the Soham murders, after it aired its first episode on Monday evening with Jemma Carlton as Carr
Loose Women star Coleen Nolan defended the Channel 5 show Maxine after the first episode of the Soham murders drama aired on Monday night.
The drama revisits Ian Huntley’s shocking murder of Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells, both aged just 10, 20 years ago, but through the eyes of his then girlfriend Maxine Carr.
The Channel 5 drama stars newcomer Jemma Carlton as Carr, opposite Scott Reid as killer Huntley, who was later imprisoned for life with a minimum term of 40 years.
The three-part miniseries – Channel 5’s first true crime drama – examines the investigation into Carr and school caretaker Huntley, who she provided a false alibi for.
However, as the first episode got underway several Channel 5 viewers found it hard to stomach, with some accusing the drama of appearing to portray Carr as a ‘victim’.

The Loose Women panel discussed the divisive response to Maxine at the start of their Tuesday instalment of the show.
Amid some concerns the families of the victims may not have been involved in the production, host Jane Moore noted: “I think because the information is in the public domain, it can be used in that way.”
Linda Robson replied saying she thinks it is ‘too much’, adding: “I like watching dramas, but not the ones where they’re real stories.

“I don’t like when it’s really happened to people. Especially children. That was the most traumatic thing. 20 years on, I still remember it like it was yesterday.”
Janet Street-Porter cut in to say that it was women their age that made up ‘millions and millions’ of the viewers of true crime dramas such as Maxine.
“Women, especially women of our generation, are now addicted to true crime drama,” Janet said. “To be fair to the broadcasters, this demand was something they hadn’t thought of 20 years ago and now there are whole channels devoted to real life murders and serial killers.”
Janet added: “They’re so addictive, aren’t they? Once you start watching them.”(
Image: ITV)She added: “They’re so addictive, aren’t they? Once you start watching them.”
However, Coleen Nolan chipped in to defend the Channel 5 drama against the backlash, noting she felt ‘guilty’ on the panel because she is an avid watcher of true crime.
She said: “It’s an awful morbid fascination about true life crime. In some respects, I know exactly what you’re saying.
“If the family hasn’t agreed to it, it’s traumatic. I totally get it and I do think they should have a right to say whether they can or not.”
“I would want people, if it was me, to always remember. I’d never want people to forget.”(
Image: ITV)
Coleen continued: “I have to say, for me, I think they’re quite good because it was 20 years ago. Although we remember Holly and Jessica, I think we forget how awful that was really, because we get on with our own lives.
“I was watching it last night and it brought all those memories back of these two awful, animal people.
“I would want people, if it was me, to always remember. I’d never want people to forget. I’d never want them to be complacent. If it was me, I’d constantly want it to be publicised to say, ‘This is what happened’.”
Saira Khan says bosses of ‘toxic’ show Loose Women asking her to join the adult website was the final straw and she was also asked to have a mould made of her vagina
Former Loose Women star Saira Khan has finally revealed the real reason she quit the show – claiming bosses tried to make her join soft porn site OnlyFans as a PR stunt.
Saira, 52, told how the “shocking” request was the final straw in what she alleges was a string of desperate bids to get publicity for the ITV programme as ratings slipped.
She revealed how she was also asked to have a mould made of her vagina for a Body Stories campaign.
Saira alleged bosses cared more about viewing figures than her mental health.
Saira has broken her silence(
Image: ITV)
Speaking about ITV culture in the wake of Jeremy Kyle and Love Island scandals following the suicides of contestants, Saira claims:
She would frequently go home crying over producers’ unreasonable requests
She was used as clickbait to help get the show recommissioned and bosses would “rub their hands with glee” at negative stories
She was offered no support when she became a target for trolls and threats to her family’s safety.
Saira said: “The straw that broke the camel’s back was when one of the young producers was sent running after me to ask whether I would be prepared to open an OnlyFans account.” OnlyFans is a site where users post soft porn images of themselves for cash.
“To say I was shocked was an understatement,” Saira added. “I could see she herself was mortified to ask me. I replied, ‘You’re asking an Asian woman who has a husband and kids and comes from a Muslim family to open an OnlyFans account?’

“She said, ‘It’s just on your social media you’ve been posting images in your underwear and we thought if you could go undercover to see the kind of response you get from men, it would make a great story’.
“There and then, I knew my time was up on the show. I felt humiliated, angry, disappointed and like fodder.”
As she writes in her Sunday Mirror column today, Saira says she decided to speak out after Fearne Cotton’s decision to step back from TV and radio to preserve her mental health.

ITV has come under mounting pressure over the mental health of employees after a series of high-profile suicides, including that of former Love Island host Caroline Flack aged 40. And The Jeremy Kyle Show was axed in 2019 after Steve Dymond, 63, killed himself just seven days after taking part in the programme.
Mum-of-two Saira said: “The system is toxic. They do not have people who have the expertise to introduce wellbeing and mental health care.”
She told of her humiliation when asked to pose for a mould of her vagina. Members of the Loose Women panel and production team contributed to a piece of artwork made up of plaster moulds of female genitalia to encourage women to accept their vaginas are “normal”.
Despite repeatedly refusing and saying she was uncomfortable with it, she claims she continued to be harassed by producers. “They just saw me as PR fodder with no respect for my background or culture,” she said.
The Loose Women team(
Image: ITV)Saira also complained that an underwear photo of herself was used in another campaign without her having approved it.
She said: “I love TV presenting, but I knew that for the sake of my mental health and my family, I just could not carry on in such toxic working conditions.”
She claimed that the culture of Loose Women encouraged the presenters to argue which made her “into a bitchy person I don’t want to be”. She added: “I started to realise they just wanted me to tick the box of ‘gobby Muslim woman’.”
Saira, who quit the show last year, claimed comments taken out of context would be packaged up and used as clickbait, and often she would have to deal with the subsequent trolling and death threats. “I was never sat down and reassured to make sure I was OK,” she said.
A spokesman for Loose Women said: “We strongly refute all of these claims. Duty of care is of paramount importance for all of our panellists. Saira left the panel almost two years ago and we wish her well.”
A source added: “Loose Women Investigates is a strand which has seen reports into a range of topics. Sites such as OnlyFans could always potentially be the subject of an investigation. The Body Stories campaign tackled the taboo of vagina dysmorphia back in 2017. Saira was not involved in this campaign.
“We were told Saira was leaving to focus on her ‘businesses and online’ and that ‘she has nothing but good things to say about the show’.
“We are therefore surprised to hear these claims.”
ITV viewers said the Loose Women stars didn’t look too happy at This Morning’s win at the National Television Awards, as the shows were vying for the same award
Loose Women host Kaye Adams insisted the panelliss were cheering on This Morning after viewers described their ‘shady’ reaction to being beaten at the National Television Awards.
During the crossover between This Morning and Loose Women, Kaye congratulated hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the win for Best Daytime.
She said: “Congratulations by the way, we were cheering for you!” before promising viewers a behind the scenes special in the midday show.
However, during the live televised event, the camera panned to the Loose Women panellists, including Kaye, and viewers thought the stars looked less than impressed as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield headed to the stage with their fellow presenters and crew.
Both shows were up for best daytime, which This Morning won last year as well and during the crossover a number of viewers remarked on the moment.

One took to Twitter to write: “No you weren’t Kaye, you had a look that would turn fresh milk sour when This Morning was announced as the winner.”
A second tweeted: “‘Congratulations btw we were cheering for ya’ Your faces told a different story Kaye,” alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.
Fellow viewers on Friday noticed Linda Robson seemed to make her feelings towards Holly and Phillip clear on Thursday eve
NTAs viewers reckoned the Loose Women stars didn’t look too impressed(

There has been huge speculation surrounding the This Morning pair since their apparent queue jump while the country mourned the Queen – but that didn’t stop the pair from bagging yet another NTA.
However, the moment couldn’t pass without a glimmer of controversy and as Phil and Holly embraced after winning the NTA for the fifth year, the cameras panned across the group and Linda was clear in her thoughts.
The former Birds of a Feather star isn’t one to hide her emotions and clearly wasn’t impressed by their win as she sat stone faced and still while others around her applauded the accolade.
And her reaction was quickly picked up by viewers watching from home as fans flocked to Twitter to discuss the moment.
One user wrote: “Yes. Loved that Linda Robson didn’t bother to clap she looked quite p**sed off.”
Another noted: “Even the Loose Women weren’t impressed when This Morning won,” while another added to the post: “It’s Linda Robson’s face,” followed by a grimacing face emoji.
The Loose Women ladies gave ITV viewers some backstage gossip on Friday’s show, after Linda Robson appeared to refuse to clap Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as they won at the National Television Awards the night before
Loose Women returned to our screens on Friday [October 14], after missing out on an award at the National Television Awards the night before.
Former Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Kaye Adams headed up the panel on the ITV’s programme’s final show of the week, as she discussed all the backstage gossip from the star-studded showbiz event with her fellow panelists Judi Love, Linda Robson and Dame Kelly Holmes.
The ITV’s show latest broadcast came just hours on from panelist Linda seemingly refusing to clap Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during their win at the National Television Awards, as This Morning beat Loose Women to take home the gong for Best Daytime TV Show for the fifth year in a row.
Holly and Phil appeared to receive a frosty reception from the audience at the event when they were named the award winners, with Loose Women gang seemingly amongst those not delighted with their win – with reports there were even jeers from the crowd amid the on-going fallout from Queue-gate, which saw Holly and Phil criticised for seemingly jumping the line to see the Queen lying in state.

Kicking off Friday’s edition of Loose Women, Kaye started things off saying: “It’s the morning after the night before, we did have a great time.”
“Congratulations to This Morning and thank you to everyone who voted for us,” the Scottish star continued as she and her co-stars – including Linda – clapped.
After Birds of a Feather actress Linda revealed they all “really had fun” and shared how delighted she was to get her makeup done and get glammed up, Kaye admitted she was watching Dame Kelly’s face as it was announced This Morning had beaten Loose Women once again at the National Television Awards.

“I’m not very good at hiding my emotions,” the retired athlete admitted, after Kaye explained the competitive star is used to winning awards and honours.
“Nothing against This Morning at all but we were really revved up,” Dame Kelly continued, before adding: “It was such a great time.”
The This Morning presenters Holly and Phil received a mixed reaction as NTA for Best Daytime Show for the fifth year in a row on Thursday night [October 13], but Holly apparently left the star-studded ceremony early after their win – reportedly sneaking out and heading home around 10pm.

While Holly got an early night, plenty of other celebrities partied hard – including her co-host Phil, who was all smiles as he left the event without his pal.
As Phil enjoyed the after-parties with no Holly by his side, he took to social media to share a touching message for his absent co-host – sharing a sweet snap of himself and Holly embracing as they collected their latest award.

“Thank YOU for every single vote ‘cos we love you most x.”
Shortly before Phil’s sweet message, Holly took to Instagram at around midnight to write: “Thank you… holy moly… we love you… @thismorning … you are the best team, you work so hard to make the show what it is… We want to thank each and every one of you for voting… you have made this night an absolute dream… thank you also @officialntas for having us… @joeldommett you are a class act.”

Things got political on Loose Women earlier today, as Janet Street-Porter sensationally slammed Prime Minister Liz Truss before Birds of a Feather actress Linda Robson once again sparked outrage as she defended Boris Johnson
The Prime Minister’s recent apology isn’t good enough for Janet Street-Porter.
On today’s edition of Loose Women, Janet took aim at Liz Truss following the under-fire Conservative Party leader finally saying sorry to furious Tory MPs on Monday, as Jeremy Hunt urged furious MPs to “give her a chance” and said he believed she would still be Prime Minister at Christmas.
Joining Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Linda Robson, Janet discussed the recent reports regarding the government and Truss – blasting the Prime Minister’s ‘feeble’ apology and calling for her to be ousted from her position by the end of the day and replaced by ‘someone boring’.
It all kicked off on today’s instalment of Loose Women, with Linda and Coleen clashing during a heated debate about Boris Johnson and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke slamming the unknown mole responsible for ruining the BBC show for viewers by leaking the pre-recorded exit results.
Janet Street-Porter didn’t hold back when discussing politics on the ITV show(

“She said sorry but is sorry enough?” Janet asked when discussing Truss’ recent apology to Tory MP over U-turns and her leadership in general.
“Not for me I’m afraid, I think it was pretty feeble,” she continued, “She looked like a schoolgirl who had been called to the headmaster’s study and given an extra detention.”
Janet went on to declare: “She should go. She should go by the end of the day – It would make my day.”

“I want someone running the country that is boring,” she added, seemingly referring to the scandals attached to the Prime Minister, before stating: “Without an economic plan, we’re going down the dumper and frankly, I blame Liz Truss.”
As the conversation developed to look back on Truss’ predecessor Johnson, Linda sparked outrage online thanks to once again backing the former prime minister.
“I always get slaughtered online [when I support Johnson] but I do,” Linda admitted on the ITV show.
Linda’s comments didn’t go down too well(
Image: ITV)The Birds of a Feather star went on to explain how she would often bump into the politician near her home, before placing the blame firmly on Carrie Johnson for the rule-breaking that occurred in 10 Downing Street at a time when Covid-19 restrictions were in place across the country.
“Oh, be quiet,” Coleen told Linda as the actress gushed about Johnson on the latest edition of Loose Women.
Coleen and Linda’s heated debate was sparked following the Prime Minister reportedly finally sorry to Tory MPs – three days after her bizarre nine-minute press conference where she failed to apologise, according to No10.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came as Jeremy Hunt urged furious MPs to “give her a chance” and said he believed she would still be Prime Minister at Christmas.

The This Morning star rose to fame after her successful stint on the show in 2002 and 20 years on, she said she wouldn’t mind making a return
Alison Hammond revealed she would ‘probably say yes’ if she was asked to host the new Big Brother.
The This Morning star rose to fame after her successful stint on the show in 2002 and 20 years on, she said she wouldn’t mind making a return.
She appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday afternoon when the conversation turned to the upcoming 2023 series.
Panellist Brenda Edwards excitedly said: “Speaking of the medium of television and you bringing joy, You are going to be bringing your joy to Big Brother?
“I would love to have you on there.”
Before viewers get too excited about the prospect, Alison responded: “I haven’t been asked to do it.”

Brenda swiftly joked: “I’ve asked you, is that not a question?”
Thinking of the idea of hosting, Alison slyly added: “You know what? If it came my way…”
She then went on to discuss how, just like This Morning, she never ‘sought out’ do take on the job.
The star said she would love to(

“It was never on my radar to want to present this morning but it came my way. They asked me to do the job and I was like, ‘I’ve never really wanted that job. But you know what? Let me go and try it.’
“It was a bit hard at the beginning but now I absolutely love it. I’m enjoying it . Who knows if that came my way of course I’ll probably say yeah.”
The new series could air early next year with a cast of “carefully selected housemates from all walks of life” living together in a new-look site for up to six weeks.

Big Brother bosses were said to have thought she would be perfect to front the new series.
A source recently said: “Alison is top of the list to present next year’s Big Brother. Execs think she’s exactly what the show needs. She’s energetic, fun, relatable and she was on the show, so she knows it inside out.”
Big Brother ran from 2000 to 2018 on Channel 4, then switched to Channel 5. ITV2 will now take the reins.
The news was revealed earlier this year, over the summer, after months of reports that the channel had taken the show on.
A teaser showing the famous logo appeared on screens during the Love Island final in August, leaving fans thrilled.

Speaking on Loose Women the day after the star-studded bash, Dame Kelly Holmes admitted she ‘wasn’t very good’ at hiding her disappointment at missing out on an award, as Linda seemingly focused on explaining how much fun she and her co-stars had getting glammed up for the event.
But almost one week on from the National Television Awards, Linda has broken her silence on the speculation she refused to clap for Holly and Phil – stating how there is ‘no issue’ between herself and the This Morning stars.
“We just showed that we were disappointed that we lost, and we are allowed to be disappointed,” Linda explains.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant continued as she and her co-stars – including Linda – clapped.
After Linda revealed they all “really had fun” and shared how delighted she was to get her makeup done and get glammed up, Kaye admitted she was keeping an eye on Dame Kelly’s face as it was announced This Morning had beaten Loose Women once again at the National Television Awards.

“Nothing against This Morning at all but we were really revved up,” Dame Kelly continued, going on to add: “It was such a great time.”
Holly and Phil received a mixed reaction as NTA for Best Daytime Show for the fifth year in a row on Thursday night [October 13], but Holly apparently left the star-studded ceremony early after their win – reportedly sneaking out and heading home around 10pm and leaving her co-host to party without her.
Nadia Sawalha urged Liz Truss to donate her lifetime salary to foodbanks as the Loose Women panel reacted to the PM’s resignation – with Judi Love offering to contact King Charles and urge him to call a general election
Judi Love is calling on King Charles to ‘save the nation’ and call a general election.
The Loose Women panel reacted to yesterday’s dramatic day of British politics on today’s show, with Judi, Charlene White, Frankie Bridge and Nadiya Sawalha all offering their thoughts on Prime Minister Liz Truss ‘ recent resignation outside 10 Downing Street.
Former EastEnders actress Nadia kicked off today’s discussion about the government, admitting the country is ‘still in a state of shock’ following the latest Tory saga and slammed Truss for not offering ‘a hint’ of an apology as she addressed the nation and stepped down from her position after just 44 days in the role.
“The place is in a mess and she comes out looking a little bit annoyed that she couldn’t deliver a mandate,” the star fumed, going on to add: “There’s something a little bit dark going on – all the people she worked with for ten years didn’t spot that she didn’t have the intelligence for the job.”

Nadia went on to express her horror at Boris Johnson’s potential return to 10 Downing Street – branding his rumoured comeback as ‘laughable’ – before seemingly calling for a general election, saying: “Here we go again, someone is once again going to be anointed by these people who have messaged up the country for 12 years.”
The Saturdays singer Frankie then mused just why the country can’t take to the polls once again to decide who will be the next prime minister, before Judi’s friendship with King Charles was brought up.

As the official Head of State, the monarch can technically call a general election by dissolving Parliament ready for an election, but in modern times the King would not do this without the request of the Prime Minister.
The Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022 allows a Prime Minister to request a dissolution from the Sovereign which, if granted, would allow a Prime Minister to call a general election at a time. So, technically, King Charles could block a general election, but not call one.

As the Loose Women panel pointed Judi has previously met the King at a charity function and jokingly implied she could use her connections to urge the Head of State to call a general election, Judi joked: “I will slide into King Charles’ DM to ask him to come save the nation.”
Elsewhere on the show, Nadiya urged Truss to turn down the hefty £115,000-a-year fund she can claim for the rest of her life as a former prime minister – after just 44 days doing the job.

Separately she will also trouser an £18,860 payout for leaving office – double the £9,094 she was actually paid while on the job.
Nadiya expressed her desire to see Truss turn down the payments or at the very least, donate the money to a foodbank in her constituency.
