Brenda Edwards fights back tears watching Denise Welch’s son sing about her depression

During Thursday’s episode of Loose Women, Denise Welch and her co-stars watched a clip of The 1975 frontman Matthew Healy singing a heartfelt song about Denise’s battle with depression

Brenda Edwards became visibly emotional on Thursday’s Loose Women as she watched a clip of Denise Welch ‘s son singing.

Matthew Healy is the singer of the band The 1975 and wrote a song called She Lays Down about his mother’s depression.

During a discussion on the latest edition of the ITV show, Denise, 64, chatted with her co-stars Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan and Brenda about whether or not you should tell your children when you’re ill.

Referring to her past mental health problems, Denise said: “Matthew was used to mum being very poorly in bed. but it’s interesting when kids grow up, how what you tell them and how they’ve processed it manifests.

“Obviously with my eldest child, he’s a singer and songwriter, and in this instance he wrote a song called She Lays Down and it’s basically… I told him when he was older and he could understand it, that depression robs you of the ability to love and I said that I used to lie down on the bedroom floor, and I’m not religious, but pray to whatever to help me to be able to love my child again.

“And that’s why he wrote ‘She Lays Down’,” Denise continued as she read out some of the lyrics to the song.

Kaye, 59, then asked Denise if it was okay if they played a clip of 33-year-old Matty singing the song.

As the video was played, the camera panned to both Denise and Brenda watching it, both with very sombre faces.

When the camera cut back to the studio, Denise said: “That’s really emotional isn’t it? Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that clip.”

ITV Loose Women audience gasp as star admits to ‘dirty’ habit

The Loose Women audience were left gasping in shock when panellist Katie Piper revealed she’s never cleaned her fridge despite having had it in her home for five years

The Loose Women live audience were left stunned by one panellist’s dirty habit confession. During Tuesday’s (24 September) episode of the hit ITV daytime show, Katie Piper, Coleen Nolan and Janet Street Porter joined presenter Ruth Langsford on the panel.

Discussions varied from cosmetic surgery to the latest celebrity news during the episode, but it was interesting fact shared by Ruth, 64, that caught people’s attention. The group were chatting about cleaning out their fridge at home, when Ruth asked: “Do you know how often you’re meant to clean your fridge?” to which Katie quickly responded: “I’ve never cleaned my fridge, ever.”

Katie Piper left the Loose Women audience stunned
Loud gasps could be heard in the studio, with Katie’s fellow panellists clearly taken aback by her confession. Attempting to defend herself, Katie added: “Why would I clean my fridge? It’s not dirty!”

Ruth then informed her: “You’re meant to clean it every month, Katie Piper.” However, Katie didn’t back down and insisted: “No, I’ve had my fridge for five years, I’ve never cleaned it once.” As the audience continued to gasp and share their shock, Ruth told them: “I’m just going to let you digest that,” before cutting to an ad break.

Katie’s surprising habit comes after her latest TV project was revealed. The star will meet female inmates at New Orleans Parish Prison as part of a new documentary series.

Locked Up In Louisiana will see TV host Katie delve into inmates’ cases and try to uncover what drove these women to commit the serious and shocking crimes they have been accused of. Katie said of the show, which will air in 2025: “Off camera I am committed to working with women in prisons to understand motivation and help rehabilitation, and I’m really proud to be making this series with Flicker and U&W – they are an all-female team that has empathy and storytelling at the heart of what they do.”

She added: “We travelled to America and in one prison I try to understand what has led the women we meet to this point, what circumstances have they been living in, what trauma they experienced and how their lives have been affected. For some this isn’t simple, and we consider how a wide range of factors effect different people in different ways. I hope that it gives viewers an insight into something that isn’t perhaps as straightforward as you would initially think and gives us all some pause for thought.”

Loose Women’s Frankie Bridge rants about stars ‘everyone hates working with’ winning awards

Frankie Bridge, who recently attended the National Television Awards with her Loose Women co-stars, has unleashed a rant about “b******t” being “spouted” in acceptance speeches from certain stars

Loose Women presenter Frankie Bridge has issued a cryptic dig at “b******t” she has noticed in the industry, particularly at awards shows.

During Frankie’s appearance on Spencer Matthews’ Big Fish podcast, the former Made In Chelsea star hinted at some celebrities continuing to work with “horrible people”, which he struggles to understand.

He said: “Some people have reputations for being really horrible people and I’ve always found it incredibly odd that people would continue to work with horrible people.

“I don’t understand the thought process that goes behind supporting a horrible person.” Agreeing with his point, Frankie cited some of her previous experiences at star-studded events as an example.

She recalled some words of wisdom from artist manager Simon Fuller, after her time in S Club Juniors as a youngster came to an end, telling Spencer: “I think that’s been one of my biggest things over the years, is that I’ve met a lot of those people.

“I remember when I finished with S Club Juniors, Simon Fuller said to me, ‘Always continue to be good to work with, like you are, because everyone’s always going to then continue to want to work with you’, and it really stuck with me.”

The singer-turned-TV-presenter continued: “I’ve had moments throughout my career… you know, you always say the good guy comes out on top, and I think as I got older, I was like, ‘That’s not actually necessarily true,’ and it really p****d me off.”

Without naming names, Frankie revealed: “I’ve sat at awards ceremonies knowing that there’s people winning these awards that everyone in the room hates working with, and they get up and they spout this speech about loving everyone, and being kind, and all that b******t and I’m like, ‘you’re lying! Everyone in here hates you’.

“Yet they’re all standing up clapping and going, ‘yeah!’, and posting about it, and I think that’s what helps me as well, because I know the b******t. I don’t necessarily buy into it, but I also think if you’re aware of it, it helps to keep you on a level.”

Earlier this week, Frankie attended the NTAs with her Loose Women co-stars, but lost out in the Daytime category to fellow ITV show The Chase.

Ruth Langsford reveals son’s incredible gesture as dad Eamonn Holmes holidays with new flame

Ruth Langsford, 64, said her son Jack Holmes ordered an Indian takeaway when she returned from work last night, just days after Eamonn Holmes headed on a cruise with his girlfriend

Ruth Langsford has revealed her son’s sweet gesture just days after her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes was spotted heading on a cruise with his new flame.

The Loose Women star said 22-year-old Jack Holmes ordered an Indian takeaway when she returned from work last night and shared a video showing all the food items he bought for her. The delicious curry delivery included chicken bhuna, saag aloo and rice, while her son had curry and chips.

She said on her Instagram stories: “So my son ordered my takeaway, so it was here when I got home. Love him for that. So I’ve gone for curry, chicken bhuna, it’s my fave because I like curry with loads of sauce. Which rice, do you think? Just plain, I like really plain rice.

“And then in here my favourite side dish, saag aloo, spinach and potatoes. And then you’ve got to have poppadoms.” The 64-year-old TV presenter then showed her son’s takeaway choice of curry and chips before tucking into their Friday night’s takeaway.

It comes days after Ruth’s ex-husband and his new girlfriend Katie Alexander went public with their relationship onboard a luxury cruise with a pal saying: “They are serious about their growing relationship.” The pair were spotted at Barcelona port, with the GB News star on a mobility scooter, while Katie was smartly-dressed up.

Eamonn is an ambassador for travel agency “Not Just Travel” and sailed with Princess Cruises in May as part of a corporate away day. He had been due to go last month but delayed the trip so Eamonn could received more treatment on his back which has left him in severe pain in recent years and unable to walk without the aid of a frame or stick in 2024.

A source said: “Katie is very excited about the prospect of a trip away with Eamonn. He works hard at GB News and with his rehab so she is looking forward to them having some time on their own relaxing away from everything. But it was also be a clear sign to everyone that they are serious about their growing relationship.”

Going on a romantic holiday will be a big decision from Eamonn to show he is moving on after his marriage split from Ruth Langsford. The pair are set to begin divorce proceedings later this year after being married for 14 years. As we have previously reported, Eamonn’s estranged wife Ruth was left devastated last month by the discovery he is being consoled through the split by another woman.

Relationship counsellor Katie, 42, has been on a number of outings with the GB News presenter in the past 12 months as well as being pictured at his home. We revealed in January that Katie had told friends she was in for “the long haul” and wanted to support Eamonn through his tough times ahead.

Loose Women star admits she ‘regularly wets herself’ when filming live on-air

Denise Welch has admitted to suffering from incontinence and wetting herself live on air – but the Loose Women presenter has learned to “get through it with humour”

Denise Welch has candidly confessed to experiencing incontinence live on air during her time on Loose Women.

The veteran panellist, who has graced the ITV talk show for almost two decades, shared her struggles with bladder control while filming. In a promotional clip for Loose Women and TENA Silhouette, Denise, alongside co-stars Nadia Sawalha and Kelle Bryan, opened up about their personal battles with incontinence.

“I have wet myself for as long as I can remember. Whether I cough, whether I sneeze, whether I laugh – I’ve always got through it by humour, but some women are mortified by it,” revealed the 66-year-old former Corrie star.

She boldly admitted: “Have I wet myself live on air? Yes Regularly.” Nadia, 59, spoke of her embarrassment when she first encountered bladder issues in her late thirties post-childbirth, adding: “When bladder weakness hit in my late 30s after having the kids, I did feel embarrassed about it.”

Kelle Bryan, 49, also chimed in with her own experiences, noting the commonality of the issue post-pregnancy, especially during gym sessions, humorously suggesting: “Post-baby it’s really common like if I’m in the gym bouncing around, I mean why don’t I just wear TENA!”

Denise has previously lauded Loose Women for its celebration of older women and maintained that she, her colleagues, and their audience are unbothered by outside opinions.

Speaking to The Sunday Times Style magazine, she said: “It’s a show that not only employs older women, it reveres older women. It listens to older women, it supports the views of older women.

“You don’t get that on any other television show – that the older you are, the more you bring to the show, the more valuable you are to the show.”

She went on to add: “Because you’ve had every T-shirt, you’ve worn it, washed it, thrown it away, got another one, you’re not so bothered. All us older ones, we’ve all had a past, and we don’t care so much about what people think any more,” reports the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Denise was flooded with praise after she marked a personal milestone. The TV personality marked 12-years since she became sober and took to social media with a video to celebrate.

Denise has often been candid about her past struggles with alcohol and will often hail her husband Lincoln Townly for supporting her through one of her toughest times. She told fans: “April 18th, 12 years ago, on this very day, I took my last drink of alcohol.

“I celebrate this every year because outside of my children, it is the proudest moment of my life. I did it alongside my husband, my bezzie, Lincoln Townley. He did it for me, I did it for him and it’s not just us who benefit it is the ripple effect that sobriety helps.”

However, she claims her boyfriend at the time warned her not to go. Speaking to the panel on the ITV chat show, Kelly said: “She told the panel: “There was a particular actor that I dated many many years ago that was very protective over me and I spoke to Jeremy [her now husband] about it a lot because it’s still relevant now.

“For example I got invited to one of those Sean Combs, Puff Daddy parties many many years ago and my boyfriend at the time said “you’re not going to that”. He was a very well known actor that had been in the industry for a very long time and I was taking it as he was being very possessive and controlling and not wanting me to go and have fun.”

She continued: “And I was like ‘why can’t I go, everyone’s going to be there, everyone goes to these parties’ and he said you’re not going to go. And nothing more was said about it and I didn’t go and years later I found the invite in his drawer in his office.”

She revealed how looking back, she now realised he was “looking after me”. And she admitted she was glad he gave her the warning at the time, admitting: “We don’t know what would’ve gone on at these parties.”

This Morning fans have claimed My Mum, Your dad stars Jenny and Danny ‘cannot stand each other’ as they appeared on the ITV daytime show to discuss their romance with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley

This Morning viewers didn’t hold back their opinions on My Mum, Your dad stars Jenny and Danny during Monday’s show.

The couple joined the ITV morning programme to chat with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about their growing connection in the mansion.

As the dating series unfolds, audiences have witnessed Jenny and Danny’s relationship develop, leading them to be the first duo to use the snuga new feature this season that lets parents turn off the live feed from their kids for some privacy.

In the interview, Ben probed if their romance had any staying power, prompting a significant breath from Jenny and a coy response from Danny: “You’ve got to keep watching haven’t we?”

Cat tried to coax more details from them, but Ben noted their body language, observing: “They’ve separated a little bit, I can’t quite work it out.”

Danny offered a small teaser: “The one spoiler I’ll give is that absolutely all of us have come out completely and utterly best friends and will be lifelong friends.”Danny explained how he shut down the initial offer to appear on the show

Although many viewers were quick to spot the huge space between them on the sofa, with some believing the duo are no longer on good terms.

One person wrote: “‘It was all filmed so long ago’ – what better way to say that you’re already distancing yourself from the show and that you’re not together and that this is a contractually obligated interview.”

Another commented: “They cannot stand each other. But obviously contractually obliged by ITV to appear on shows like #thismorning to sell this b****cks.”

Someone else said: “He doesn’t dislike her nearly as much as she dislikes him. #ThisMorning.”

Another joked about the pair’s distance on the couch, adding: “Jenny and Danny didn’t hit it off then? Danny will fall off the end of the sofa in a minute.”

While someone else wrote: “May as well have sat them on different sofas they’re sitting so far apart!”

Danny shared his initial reluctance about appearing on the show, confessing he had no interest at the start.

He said: “My daughter put me forward secretly! I had an email out of the blue, I read through and thought, ‘Absolutely not’ and deleted it.

“It was a month later she owned up to it and I had to explain that I had no interest in meeting anyone and I had no interest in going on TV.”

Nevertheless, Danny ultimately embraced a new approach for the year, admitting: “However, at the start of the year, I decided to say yes to everything in life and stop shying away.”

The two are set to cozy up in the snug during Monday night’s episode, despite Danny confessing that the prospect was initially quite daunting, reports the Manchester Evening News.

When discussing what happened off-air, Danny highlighted that Jenny talked about her CV because she was feeling nervous.

He quipped: “I hope it was nerves, it was the most dull-” But Jenny swiftly interrupted him, retorting: “Charming, thanks.”

The former Good Morning Britain presenter has been a long-time critic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

On Saturday, he took to Instagram to post a selfie with the Duchess of York posing next to him, with both of them beaming.

In a second snap, it can be seen the two were seated next to each other for a meal at a restaurant in Charlbury.

Mr Morgan recently criticised Harry and Meghan when, after the Princess of Wales’s latest update that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment earlier this month, Netflix posted a trailer about their new polo show on the platform, which is due to be released in December.

Stacey Solomon’s biggest hint yet she’s quit Loose Women amid major career shake-up

Stacey Solomon has hinted that she may be giving up her seat on the panel of Loose Women to focus on ‘herself and our family’ after stepping back from another job earlier this week

Award-winning TV presenter Stacey Solomon appeared to be preparing fans for her exit from Loose Women, if her latest social media post is anything to go by.

The 34 year old TV star, who is a mum of five, treated fans to pieces from her last collection with In the Style. And while she has already revealed that she is bowing out of designing items for the clothing brand, it seems that is not the only venture she is turning her back on.

She wrote on social media: “A few things have happened over this year & for us as a family it just feels right me to let go and focus a bit more of myself on our family. It won’t just be in the style. I have been re thinking lots of things.” She added: “I feel so lucky & grateful to have been able to live out what I can only describe as my wildest dreams, and that’s just such a huge privilege. One I’ll never take for granted & certainly never forget. But it’s time for a change and a new focus.”

Earlier this month, Stacey, who is married to Joe Swash, shared with fans that she was stepping back from her role at In The Style. She wrote:”Today has been a wonderful but emotional day as I shot my LAST EVER collection for InTheStyle. But she explained that she had thought long and hard about her future and felt she was making the right decision. She continued: “Throughout this year I’ve thought a lot about work/family balance & things that have needed to be prioritised. So I’ve decided to say goodbye to In The Style and other things so that I can give more of myself back to my family.”

She went on to say: “I’m so proud of everything we created & achieved, from making garments out of offcuts, using recycled materials, to our sizing ranges & everything in between. It’s been a huge learning insight for me and a part of my career I’ll remember forever.” She described her time with the fashion label as a “magical experience” but felt it right to end her time with the brand ahead of her favourite season, autumn.

Stacey has already transformed her home, Pickle Cottage, with a Halloween makeover. She posted snaps of her Halloween decorations. And it looks as though the TV personality knew no bounds as she even picked up branches from the side of the road. There was also the addition of pumpkins which her and her children picked from her neighbour who is a farmer. Although Stacey admitted the makeover was a little early for Halloween, which is in October, she felt compelled to go to such lengths as she was hosting a party, last week.

Frankie Bridge money woes as she reveals she ‘blew’ her pop star fortune

Frankie Bridge has opened up about the one thing she regrets from her pop stars days, when she was part of the memorable S Club Juniors pop group in the 00s

Frankie Bridge admits she’s burned through all her pop star money with “nothing left to show for it.”

The 35-year-old Loose Women star was in S Club Juniors back in 2001 when she was just 12 years old. Frankie later found success with The Saturdays when the popular girl group got together in 2007. Looking back on her time in the group, the mum-of-one shared that one of her biggest regrets is not having anything to show for the money she made back then. She revealed that her parents had been lenient with her spending because of how hard she had worked.

On Spencer Matthews’ Big Fish podcast, Frankie explained that she didn’t save any money at all during her early career. “It was tough in that I think, because parents were involved. We were so young and doing what we were doing, loving what we were doing,” she explained.

She added: “I don’t have anything to show for it anymore, I think that’s one of my biggest regrets.

“I think my parents always felt that they allowed me to work from such a young age that they were unable to tell me what to use my money for and what to spend it on. We didn’t have loads and loads.”

Despite the rumours that young stars don’t get paid, Frankie admits she did earn money by being a part of the band and even had her own bank account. “Yeah of course, I was in control of it to a certain extent. I remember I had my own bank card. I think I only just closed it down like last week.

After S Club Juniors, Frankie had the opportunity to be a solo artist for about a year, with Simon Fuller hoping to make her the new Rachel Stevens. But it had only left her feeling confused over her style and music direction.

She said: “I had an opportunity afterwards. I was signed on my own for about a year as a solo artist and he wanted me to be the new Rachel Stevens, because she was the thing at the time.

“I felt so lost, I didn’t know what clothes I was into, what music. I was more an Avril Lavigne, a bit more emo. And that was not the style he was going for.
