Last year’s instalment of Loose Men was hosted by Richard Madeley alongside panellists dancer Jordan Banjo, TV judge Robert Rinder and singer and actor Martin Kemp.

Vernon said of his return to Loose Men next week that he is “really excited” to be back for another special ITV panel show.

He added: “Men’s mental health is so important to me. I learnt things from the panel members last time that I’d never known before.

“The reaction we all had last time was also fantastic and highlighted how there’s a real need for more discussion around these topics which we look forward to bringing to viewers.”

Strictly star Johannes said: “I think Loose Men is a brilliant concept. I’m thrilled we have a platform to sit as men and talk about issues affecting our wellbeing and livelihoods.

“We will continue to bring awareness to mental health as it still plagues our society.”

Loose Women editor, Sally Shelford, said: “It’s never been more important to encourage men to talk openly and honestly about their mental health and we’re proud that our panel of incredible Loose Men never shy away from the big issues.”

She said to expect “some very honest discussions, fiery debates and, of course, lots of laughs along the way, too”.

The show is in support of Loose Women’s Stand By Your Men campaign and takes place on Thursday, May 12 at 12.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

Ruth Langsford shows off hair makeover as Eamonn enjoys date with younger woman

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford, 64, unveiled her new haircut with fans after pampering herself at Leo Bancroft salon. Meanwhile, her ex Eamonn Holmes had lunch with his girlfriend

Ruth Langsford left her fans impressed as she showed off her latest hair makeover after her ex Eamonn Holmes enjoyed a date with his new girlfriend.

The 64-year-old TV star filmed herself as a hairstylist made some final touches at the Leo Bancroft salon, where a simple cut and style for ladies can cost anything from £55 to £84. Ruth wrote on the clip she shared on her Instagram stories: “The master at work.”

The Loose Women presenter was pleased with her new look as she smiled in the short clip. Ruth’s latest hair transformation came as her ex Eamonn enjoyed lunch with his younger girlfriend, Katie Alexander.

He posed for a photo at the Manchester United grounds, with the caption: “Some superb company for lunch.” And Eamonn also shared a picture showing his new hairstyle on Instagram – but some fans weren’t convinced and said he seemed to have reused an old photo.

Yesterday, Eamonn shared a selfie from the driver’s seat, as he addressed a sultry look to the camera. “Set off at 5.30 …. Driving through a beautiful Sunny Birmingham now”, he wrote in his caption, prompting numerous reactions in the comment section as the majority of his fans praised his clean-shaven look. But a clash soon followed as some of his followers claimed he had shared an old photo.

“Lovely photo”, one Instagram user commented, while another echoed: “Looking good.” A third agreed: “TV Legend. Looking good”, while a fourth continued: “Looking good! Have a great day Eamonn, Gem Belfast.” Another concluded: “Looking like a young Bert Reynolds without the tash.” However, another Instagram user argued: “This pic is same one used in July”, just as one follower wrote: “Not a current photo.”

Back in May, Eamonn and Ruth shocked their fans when they revealed their marriage was over. They confirmed their split through a representative, who said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” Since the split, Eamonn has raised eyebrows by being seen out and about with new girlfriend. The relationship counsellor is reported to be 43 years old – making her 21 years younger than GB News star Eamonn.

The pair recently jetted on a Mediterranean cruise and were pictured together in Ibiza as well as Barcelona. A source told Mail Online that Eamonn’s public holiday with Katie left Ruth “shocked” as the former showbiz couple still have their wedding rings on.

The insider told the publication: “Ruth is shocked by how open Eamonn is being about his relationship, after all they both still have their wedding rings on. Neither of them want to be the first to take it off because they don’t want to look like they’re to blame for the split.”

Loose Women star shares ‘last day’ announcement and confirms lengthy break from ITV show

Loose Woman star Janet Street-Porter is taking a break from the ITV hit chat show as she prepares to go into surgery on Friday with her co-stars confirming the latest show was her “last” for a while

Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter has confirmed that she is taking a lengthy break from the chat show. The broadcaster, 77, is renowned for her role as a panellist on ITV’s flagship daytime programme.

During Wednesday’s episode Janet was back on our TV screens alongside co-star Coleen Nolam, Christine Lampard and Katie Piper.

Just minutes into the show, Christine announced that it was her colleagues “last day for a little while” as she prepares to undergo a hip replacement on Friday.

It’s without a doubt that Janet is apprehensive about the surgery as she admitted that she can’t think about anything else and is ‘shaking and shivering’.

Christina started off by saying: “Janet this is your last day for a little while because you are heading off for the operation, the one you have been waiting for a while.”

Janet confirmed: “Yes, on Friday I am heading off to have a hip replacement operation at last and I can’t think about anything else.”

She continued: “As I’m sitting here, I’m shaking and shivering and I keep dreaming about it. I keep thinking ‘what if they can’t get it back together’. I am going on Friday, I’ll have the operation Friday afternoon, stay in hospital for a few days then I’ll really work on it at rehab so I can come back as soon as possible.”

Everyone burst out laughing as she turned to her co-stars and joked: “I’ll have to do one of those broadcasts from my hospital bed.”

Coleen became visibly emotional as she revealed: “You know this morning when we were talking about it – it made me really sad because you always put on this tough image that nothing does your back in and at one point today you said ‘I’m really scared’ and I could have cried my eyes out.”

Janet fought back tears as she admitted: “I am vulnerable and you know what it’s my own fault because they told me in March to have it done but I delayed it but then at the weekend I have some vegetables delivered and even though I shouldn’t I was on all fours planting them.”

It was clear that it wasn’t her best idea as she continued: “I woke up on Sunday morning and I couldn’t move and now I’ve really messed up the other side of my back and I had to lie-down for two days.

She added: “I realised that I let myself get too weak and I’ve never been like this in my life and it’s just so irritating.” Janet was then surprised with a gift basket that had a framed picture of Coleen.

Robbie Williams’ wife details moment she told young daughter her dad was a drug addict

Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field appeared on ITV hit daytime show Loose Women and opened up about the moment she told her daughter about her dad’s past

Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field shared a candid family admission as she detailed the moment she told her young daughter about her father’s drug addiction.

Global pop star Robbie previously suffered with substance abuse and mental health issues during the peak of his drug addiction.

The star has spoken openly about his battle and fans got more of an insight into his past on his Netflix documentary. Wife Ayda, 45, appeared on ITV’s Loose Women panel on Thursday, October 3 and gave fans a glimpse into her family life and shared the moment she told her daughter about her father’s past.

The couple share four children together, Theodora ‘Teddy’ Rose born in November 2012, Charlton ‘Charlie’ Valentine born in October 2014, Colette ‘Coco’ Josephine born in August 2018 and Beau Benedict Enthoven born in February 2020.

During her appearance on Loose Women alongside panellists Charlene White, Denise Welch and Nadia Sawalha, Ayda admitted that she likes to be ‘honest’ with her children.

Charlene started off and asked: “How open are you with the kids when it comes to talking to them about their dad’s past?”

Ayda revealed: “We’ve always had an open relationship with our kids. I don’t think there has ever been a moment where we have sat Teddy down and said ‘you know your father is an addict, done drugs and slept with lots of women’.”

She continued: “It’s not something we talk about after school but there was a documentary on Netflix and I think there are things that come up in our lives and we have very age appropriate conversations about their father’s story and we have been through as a couple and we don’t shy away from that.”

Revealing why she chose to only tell her oldest, she went on to say: “In our house we are very honest and Teddy is aware that her father is an alcoholic and drug addict and that’s why daddy doesn’t touch these things. She knows to a certain degree and when the other kids get old enough they too will know.

“For us we just address these situations so that they feel safe so when they are out in the world they already know in case someone points it out to them.”

Christine Lampard reveals tough challenge she faces at home when Frank’s teams lose

Christine Lampard, Kelly Cates and Hayley McQueen have spoken as they prepare to hose Not Just Football, a new Sky all-female podcast talking about Britain’s favourite game from a fresh perspective

Living in a football legend’s house has its upsides… but Christine Lampard has revealed it can be a challenge after a defeat.

Her husband Frank won three league titles, four FA Cups and a Champions League with Chelsea, also starring for England before making the move into management.

“But it absolutely affects the mood. And now, after all these years, I know how to work around the mood – that is a skill in itself to be honed.”

Christine will discuss this and much more when Not Just Football, an all-female podcast about footballing families, launches later this month.

Alongside her will be Kelly Cates, daughter of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish, and Hayley McQueen, daughter of manchester-united-fc>Manchester United great Gordon McQueen, who died last year.

Kelly, who fronts Premier League matches on Sky, says: “We are all women of a certain age. And we’re all to an extent defined by our relationship to some of the men in our lives.

“There wasn’t a role in football broadcasting unless you had that background, luckily that has changed and isn’t the case anymore, but I think it was felt we were relatively low risk.”

Mum-of-one Hayley, 44, who is an anchor on Sky Sports News, adds: “It was the kind of nepotism thing. But I do know things because of my dad, because I grew up loving, living, breathing every little thing that he did.”

Loose Women host Christine, 45, recalls first being involved in the game when Frank was still a Chelsea player and she was on BBC’s The One Show. She says: “I remember when Frank and I started going out and he said, ‘look, I want you to come to Stamford Bridge’. And I said, ‘OK, of course But, I don’t want to go in a posh box or anything. I want to go where the proper fans are’.

“Anyone that knows Stamford Bridge will know that is the Shed End. I remember going into the Shed End with a couple of his friends, and I was doing The One Show at the time, and they all started to sing ‘ONEEEEE’. I just got it straight away and loved it. And I went every week. I don’t think I missed a home game.

“I have football on at home now, even when Frank’s not in the house. Like, I’ll have it on all the time, all weekend, and I’ll know everything. And that’s me wanting to do it just because I really enjoy it. There’s something about it.

“I just got it straight away. I understand why this consumes people’s lives.” Hayley was going to games from a much younger age as a child. And dad Gordon, who won the league and FA Cup, played for a number of clubs, including Seiko in Hong Kong, which meant she also transferred around when it came to schooling.

    A photo of Kenny Dalglish
Kelly grew up in a football family with her dad, former Liverpool player and manager Kenny Dalglish

She reveals: “I went to 11 different places of education. This was from nursery right up until uni.

“I lived in Manchester, Teesside, two different areas of Scotland, Hong Kong I lived in for 18 months with my dad. Then moved down to London.

“I mean we moved around an awful lot, but you just became adaptable.” Kelly adds: “Ever since I was a girl, football has been at the centre of everything I do, it’s what I grew up with and what I’ve always loved.

“Joining this show is incredibly exciting because it gives me the opportunity to share my stories and experiences that I’ve gathered from being so closely connected to the game all my life. I can’t wait to get started and find our groove.

“It’s finding that balance between football and real life. Football is the peg, but real life is what we are talking about and those family connections.”

Christine says her and Frank’s son, Freddie, three, has caught the football bug and loves wearing kits.

But rather than Chelsea or England, he prefers the green Northern Ireland strip – to the delight of Christine, who is originally from Newry in Ulster.

Christine says: “My little boy’s obsessed with kits and at the moment he wants to wear them every day. At the minute he loves the Northern Irish kit which is obviously all green.

“He’s got the new England kit actually, his aunt bought it for him recently, but he doesn’t want to wear it. He comes downstairs and Frank’s like ‘do you know what you did?’ And I get a little kick out of that!”

The pair also have a daughter, Patricia, six, while Frank has two daughters with his former fiancee, Spanish model Ellen Rivas.

In the first episode they will be joined by former Newcastle, Spurs and France winger David Ginola.

ITV star Christine, who is used to all-female panels, adds: “Football is such a big part of my life, but that doesn’t necessarily fit well on a Loose Women panel. It’s nice to find a space where it is all natural and feels comfortable. And it is nice to push yourself with something different.”

Olly Murs reveals Take That star’s reaction when he walked in on wife breastfeeding

Speaking to the Loose Women panel this Wednesday, Olly Murs recalled a moment when Mark Owen walked in on his wife Amelia breastfeeding their daughter Madison while on tour.

Mark Owen once walked in on Amelia Tank breastfeeding – but Olly Murs revealed the Take That star had actually helped his wife cope with the anxiety that comes with becoming a mother.

Olly Murs, 40, welcomed his first child with bodybuilder Amelia, 31, earlier in the year and the former X Factor star shared the news of Madison’s birth with the world on his social media account. But shortly after, the singer had to leave the newborn behind to go on tour with Take That.

Luckily, Amelia and Madison were soon able to join him and during a chat with the Loose Women panel this Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Olly recalled the time his wife had tried to hide backstage to breastfeed her baby, only to be found by a hesitant Mark Owen, who didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable.

At the time, Olly was supporting Take That on their UK tour, as he explained. “I got Amelia in to come and see the show”, he remembered, “she’s just there, it made me feel great to have her in the house.” But as he recalled, Amelia was then afraid of breastfeeding, most particularly in public.

Olly had responded to her fears by insisting she’d be safe in the privacy of the dressing room. “And then Mark Owen walked in”, he summarised. But Amelia had a different reaction to what he expected as he remembered that her worries seemed to “go out of the window.”

This prompted him to praise Mark for his behaviour with Amelia at the time. “Because he’s had children, he was just so lovely. He was just like, you know, ‘am I okay to come in?’ I think it really helped Amelia, actually.”

The Troublemaker hitmaker and wife Amelia Tank welcomed their first child together, daughter Madison, in April, as mentioned. In more recent news, however, Olly and Amelia opened up on their first few months of parenthood on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast. This led the singer to admit he was only able to spend one hour with his daughter before he had to leave her to perform a gig.

“Yeah, that was hard. That was weird”, he said. “I knew that Mila’s mum was there, which always gave me comfort. I knew Amelia was on her own. I think again, I just went, ‘I’m going to work’. And if I overthink this, I’m going to cry my eyes out all the way up to the gig. So, I was kind of like, ‘I’m really sorry, babe, but I’ve got to go.’”

Olly’s chat came after Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal, his Strictly Come Dancing professional partner, discussed their stint on the BBC One programme. But before then, Janet Street-Porter told viewers she was due to take a break from the daytime show as she said: “On Friday I am heading off to have a hip replacement operation at last and I can’t think about anything else.”

  • Coronation Street Joel’s dad Gus’ involvement in his death ‘exposed’ after clue

Coronation Street Joel’s dad Gus’ involvement in his death ‘exposed’ after clue

Coronation Street’s Gus Deering could be more linked to his son Joel Deering’s disappearance than he’s claimed, according to one character on the ITV soap, amid Joel’s ‘death’

One Coronation Street resident accused another character of knowing the truth about Joel Deering’s disappearance on Friday night.

Joel is presumed dead with the police believing he has taken his own life, after his car was abandoned and a note was found written by him. Amid speculation someone is involved in him going missing, his ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey is convinced Joel is on the run.

She believes he has faked his death to avoid his crimes, after he tried to kill Lauren Bolton before trying to kill her unborn baby, while his other crimes include grooming young girls. With him set to face trial, the police believe he ended his life with his father Gus Deering also believing this to be the case.

Dee-Dee bumped into him at the police station during Friday’s visit to Weatherfield. As the pair spoke, Dee-Dee made it clear she believed Joel was in hiding and wasn’t really dead.

Gus fumed at Dee-Dee, calling her out for suggesting his son had faked his death as he struggled with the claim by police that Joel had taken his own life. He’d revealed the last time he saw Joel was two days before he vanished, with him keen for answers from detectives including DS Swain.

Gus told Dee-Dee that in his last conversation with his missing son he was distraught about everything, and that he “talked about ending it all”. He then berated Dee-Dee over her claims about Joel, saying: “My son was suicidal. He could be lying dead somewhere.”

In that moment Swain came over and intervened, apologising to Gus before asking to speak to Dee-Dee in private. It’s then that Dee-Dee repeated her theory about her ex and what had really happened to him, before she suggested someone was in on it.

She believed Gus might be involved in Joel going missing, and said there was a huge clue that confirmed her thoughts. As DS Swain told her to leave Gus alone, stating he was grieving and believed his son had taken his own life, Dee-Dee claimed he was acting up.

Dee-Dee even urged someone to follow Gus around, believing he could be the key to what happened to Joel. She told DS Swain: “I don’t buy it. He is putting it on and he obviously knows something. Why don’t you get someone to follow him and see if it leads us to Joel?” Swain was having none of it – but could Dee-Dee be on to something?

Exclusive: Great British Bake Off chaos as two bakers collapse and one quits

One baker quits, another faints and a third hurls themselves to the floor – has the Channel 4 show ever seen so much drama in one epsiode?

The Great British Bake Off has one of the most dramatic episodes in its 15-year history tonight – with three bakers crumbling under the pressure of biscuit week. In extraordinary scenes one baker quits, another faints and a third crashes to the floor.

As the last of the trio lurches sideways in a dramatic tumble, during judging of the showstoppers, judge Paul Hollywood can barely contain himself, declaring: “What the hell is going on?” His sidekick Prue Leith shows more sympathy, asking the latest casualty: “Are you all right?”

The rest of the bakers, who have just spent four hours making an edible puppet theatre, are shaken but also collapse in giggles, with Andy saying: “They’re dropping like bloody flies!”

    Bake Off's Illiyin
Baker Illiyin suffers a fainting fit in tonight’s episode of The Great British Bake Off
The baker who faints is 31-year-old midwife Illyin, who last week received a coveted Hollywood handshake just 20 minutes into cake week for her cinnamon roll loaf. This week, as she starts to swoon, another baker is heard to shout: “Got a medic?”

One is duly rushed into the tent and Illyin is put into the recovery position on the floor, from where she can be heard to say: “I just feel dizzy.” Her fainting episode comes after the fares less well in this week’s signature challenge, which earned her the handshake in last week’s series debut. Tonight she describes the critique of her Viennese sandwiches as “gutting” and admits: “I knew biscuits were a problem.”

Brenda Edwards will ‘never forget’ vision of Jamal’s death as she shares his special message

Brenda Edwards appeared in her first TV interview with Coleen Nolan today following the death of son Jamal Edwards in February

Brenda Edwards was in tears as she recalled being with her late son Jamal when he died.

The musical theatre star and Loose Women panelist, 48, appeared in her first TV interview today since her son Jamal’s death in February.

Speaking to Coleen Nolan, she was asked how she was doing and she replied: “I’m doing OK… I’m taking each day as it comes.”

Recalling the day he died, Brenda said: “The one thing that I do want to say is I was with him and his sister was with us, we were all at home. It was sudden and it was unexpected and he went into cardiac arrest. Then he passed with me holding his hand, so I get a little bit of comfort from knowing I was with him.”

“As much as that is comfort, at the same time, it’s a vision that I’m never going to forget.”

Brenda revealed that she has a bedtime routine dedicated to her son that “keeps her going”.

“When I wake up every morning – all of his photos are still obviously in the house – and I look at him and say, ‘Good morning, baby’ and ‘Good night, baby’.

“And I think doing that is what’s keeping me going. He always had this lovely, bright smile, just used to light up. He had this funny laugh. I feel his presence constantly and I know I’ve always been somebody who has faith and who believes in that and that has been a massive comfort to me.”

Brenda said that she had felt “overwhelmed” over the sheer volume of support they had received in the wake of Jamal’s death and that they were “so grateful”.

Jamal left instructions for his mum in the tragic event that he would die on how to take over his charities and businesses – and even had instructions for his funeral.

“I was glad to get that instruction from him,” Brenda explained. “He wanted Luton to be involved, he wanted Chelsea to be involved… he had a blue and white theme.

    “It was beautiful.”

Opening up about the day of his funeral, Brenda said: “When we laid him to rest, it was really beautiful. We looked up into the sky and there was a J – the clouds had formed a J. A friend took a picture of it.”

Speaking of Jamal’s legacy, she said: “He said, ‘We all die, the goal is not to live forever but to create something that will.’ And I believe he has created something that will and I’m determined to make sure that it will. That’s my goal.”

Jamal was the founder of the online urban music platform SB.TV and his work in the music industry led him to become friends with several celebs – including Ed Sheeran, Will.i.am, Professor Green and Rio Ferdinand.

Following his death, Brenda penned a statement and shared it with Good Morning Britain, which was read out live on air by Susanna Reid.

“It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world,” she shared.

She continued: “As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.

Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha snaps at Jane Moore during Kim Kardashian debate

Loose Women were discussing the fact that Kris Jenner recently said Kim Kardashian is her favourite child when panelist Nadia Sawalha decided to have her say on the subject

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha did not look overly impressed on Thursday’s show as the panel discussed the Kardashian family.

Leading the panel was Charlene White, who mentioned the fact that Kris Jenner has revealed that Kim Kardashian is her “favourite” child.

Turning to mother-of-two Nadia, Charlene said: “Nadia, you are our resident Kardashian expert…”

“Correspondent with a K!” Nadia giggled, before adding: :Can I just correct you there? Because actually it oscillates between Kim and Kylie, the favouritism… so Kris will say. ‘oh you’re my favourite today’.”

Fellow panelist Jane Moore then tried to join in on the conversation and said of Kris’ tweet: “That to me, looks like it’s been written by Kim…”

But Nadia, 57, was having none of it and piped up: “No I mean… don’t try and correct me on the Kardashians!”

Charlene, 41, was then heard joking: “Know your place Jane!” as a shocked Sunetra Sarker commented: “Oh my word!”

“No for Kylie is what a very long time, Kylie was the favourite. When she first became a billionaire, it went crazy, the favouritism was off the scale,” Nadia claimed.

Moving the conversation on, Nadia went on to admit that she also has a favourite child when it comes to her two daughters.

“I do have a favourite child and I tell my daughters on a regular basis, and it goes like this: Whoever is being nicest to me is my favourite!

“And they’re like, ‘do you mean that mum?’ and I went, ‘yeah if you’re really nice to me that day then you’re gonna be my favourite person, if you’re being a moody teenager then the other one’s gonna be my favourite person’,” she laughed.
