The Loose Women ladies were shocked on Friday’s show when new panelist Lady Leshurr admitted she is trying to put weight on.

Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Sunetra Sarker were joined by Lady Leshurr as they discussed calories now appearing on menus in restaurants.

Kaye, 59, kicked off the conversation by telling her co-stars that she and her daughter were counting calories when they went out for dinner earlier this week.

“It was such a strange thing for me, because this first was raised a couple of years ago as an idea, and at that point I remember thinking, ‘I think that’s a really good idea’,” Kaye explained.

“But I sat down with her and she’s 19 and it was there and the only thing she looked at was the numbers and then I did the same thing and I suddenly went, ‘woah I don’t think this is a good idea’.”

Nadia, 57, went on to say that she thinks “it’s a huge step back” as she spoke about constantly counting calories in the past.

Lady Leshurr, real name Melesha Katrina O’Garro, then said: “I reckon the waiters in every restaurant should come through with like, ‘do you want a calories menu or no calories menu?’ so you don’t get to see it if you don’t want to.

“Because, for me, it’s like I know someone that is very like, ‘Oh I can’t have that and that and I can’t drink tonight because then I’m gonna have to go to the gym’, it gives me anxiety but then I’m the opposite because I’m trying to put on weight,” she continued.

At that point, the rest of the panel were heard gasping as Sunetra replied: “What?!”

“Look at me! How can you question what? Look at me! My clothes are falling off me!” Lady Leshurr joked.

She then explained: “In general, I don’t ever look at what I’m eating and I’ve got a fast metabolism, which is good.”

Lady Leshurr went on to say that sometimes people call her a “lucky bugger” for being able to eat what she wants, but she then stressed: “I really do want to put on weight!”

Carol McGiffin did not hold back on Wednesday as Loose Women invited Nicola Sturgeon onto the ITV show.

The 62-year-old was clearly keen to grill the First Minister of Scotland about the time she was caught not wearing a face mask.

A video posted on social media showed Ms Sturgeon not wearing a mask during a local election campaign visit to a barber’s in East Kilbride on Saturday.

At the start of her interview, the MP addressed it straight away by saying: “As you all know, I’ve had my own lapse in the last couple of days with a momentary failure to put on a face covering so I know how difficult these things can be…”

Referring to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s apology in Parliament on Tuesday, Ms Sturgeon continued: “With Boris it’s the serial breaches at a time when the rest of the country was in very, very strict lockdown.

“But it’s also, to be blunt about it, when this first came to light he wasn’t honest about it and he wasn’t honest in the House of Commons. It’s really important that people can trust the Prime Minister of the country to tell the truth. There’s got to be consequences for your actions.”

“And he has actually stood up in Parliament and made a big apology, I mean, you’ve made an apology, sort of, and you’re claiming it was a mistake,” Carol added.

Ms Sturgeon quickly fired back: “It’s not sort of… I’m sorry. See, I think it’s a fair question Carol to ask what’s the difference,” before going on to explain what had happened.

Loose Women’s Carol McGiffin and Kelle Bryan butted heads on Tuesday’s show as they discussed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The two women were sat on the panel alongside Christine Lampard and Frankie Bridge when the conversation soon turned to the royals.

It’s been reported that Harry and Meghan have been invited to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.

The move signals another step taken towards repairing the relationship between the couple and the royal family after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked away from the Firm in 2020.

Carol, 62, and Kelle, 47, had very different opinions about the news and were keen to share their views.

When Christine asked if it would be nice yo see the couple on the balcony, Kelle said: “I think it would be lovely, yes it would, if that’s what they want and they’re comfortable with it.

“I think after the revelations that happened and especially the interview with Oprah, we all have a very different sort of perspective of what their experience was like within the palace.

“And they’ve always been really open and said that they’ve separated Her Majesty from the comments that they made, they’ve always stated that she was wonderful and none of their grievances were with her personally and this is a celebration for her isn’t it? So them being there would be really fitting,” Kelle added.

Carol then piped up: “I still think that it was a terrible betrayal and I think it’s good of the Queen to just let it go and not make a big deal out of it.

“And I think if everybody stopped making a big deal out of those two, they could just come over, go on the balcony, do the appearance and everyone would just go, ‘Oh look, it’s Harry and Meghan’.

“They’ve created this kind of whirlwind around them that everything they do now becomes like massive news and it does overshadow events up to a point,” she continued.

Kelle then butted in and said: “I think the reason that everyone’s talking about it is because they’ve been open about it.”

“They didn’t have to though, did they?” Carol asked, before adding: “They said they wanted privacy and they haven’t stopped talking about it since! They haven’t stopped talking about themselves and the royal family!

“They got cameras following them, you know, give it a rest!”

“It’s their fault! They created it!” Carol shouted as Kelle fired back: “How can you say they created it if it’s an experience that they had?”

“They’re still in the family, they’re still part of the family, and to bad mouth them as they did – which they did, you can’t deny that – why do they need to?

“Look, they wanna go away and have their privacy, go away and be quiet and when you come back and go on the balcony, we’ll all go, ‘lovely jubbly’,” she added as Frankie burst out laughing.

Loose Women fans were not impressed on Wednesday as Gloria Hunniford said she is ‘bored’ of talking about Boris Johnson.

Gloria, 82, was sat on the panel alongside Christine Lampard, Judi Love and Carol McGiffin when the conversation turned to the Prime Minister.

The women were torn over Boris’ apology in Parliament on Tuesday where he finally addressed being fined for attending parties during lockdown in 2020.

As Christine asked Gloria what she made of his apology, she replied: “Well, I want to say this a million per cent, I understand people who weren’t able to have weddings, couldn’t have a funeral for their family, couldn’t go into a care home, I really, really understand that and I get it and I feel very sorry for people when they talk about.

“However, I do feel that once we’ve had an independent report and we’ve had this investigation, it’s been going on for weeks and weeks on end, and I feel like there’s so much else going on in the world and in our lives in this country, that if I’m being really honest, although I understand the back chat, I’m getting bored of the topic.”

Gloria continued: “I just think we’ve discussed it enough. He did say he bitterly regretted it, he did say something like 35 times in the Commons that he was really sorry, so where do you go from there really?”

Carol, 62, responded: “I do believe he meant it but I think it was completely misguided because what he was saying sorry for was not what he should be saying sorry for.

“I think he should be saying sorry, properly apologising and maybe doing more for all of the damage that has been done over the last two years, and a lot of it has been unnecessary, they’ve admitted that much.

“The damage to the economy, the damage to children, to families, to people’s mental health,” she continued.

Gloria then said: “But some of the things you’ve been talking about are international, he had to deal with international things. All Prime Ministers, human beings, make mistakes….”

“It wasn’t a mistake! What happened over the last two years was not a mistake!” Carol fired back.

Viewers tuning in at home were not impressed with Gloria’s remarks at all and took to Twitter to comment.

“Oh here we go. Of course Gloria supports Boris #LooseWomen,” one person said.

Another tweeted: “So obvious that Gloria would stick up for Boris, #LooseWomen.”

A third person posted: “Gloria is bored of the subject now tell that to the family of a friend of mine that couldn’t even be with her when she died #loosewomen.”

Someone else fumed: “Is Gloria Hunniford being serious…she’s bored of it!! What an insult to all of the people in the UK who followed the rules, especially to those who lost loved ones. #LooseWomen.”

Fiery TV host Eamonn Holmes has made his feelings clear about his former This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield – we take a look back at his biggest zingers

Eamonn Holmes and Phillip Schofield have never been close pals and the Belfast broadcaster hasn’t held back when it comes to voicing his opinion about the TV star.

Phillip’s new Channel 5 series Cast Away has seen him suggest he was “thrown under the bus” by his colleagues before his exit from This Morning.

But Eamonn, who worked with the former primetime host for 14 years, hit back on his GB News breakfast show, saying: “I’m one of the people who threw him under the bus I am very proud to have done it”. The star went onto accuse Phillip of being “absolutely addicted to fame”.

Phillip left the ITV show last year after admitting to an “unwise, but not illegal affair” with a younger male colleague. Rumours had been swirling for months about a feud with his former best pal, co-star Holly Willoughby, too.

“On a personal level, Phillip and Eamonn never got on,” a source told Mail Online. “Eamonn found him snippy and passive- aggressive and thought he treated the lower-down people on the show very badly.”

Phil cuts off Ruth

Tension behind the scenes on the This Morning sofa famously spilled into the public eye in 2019, when Phillip cut Ruth off as the show was handing over to Loose Women for a preview of panel topics that day. Ruth hadn’t finished talking when the host jumped in and said: “Guys, we’re going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid because we’re a bit tight for time at this end. Thank you, Ruth.”

The Loose Women star looked visibly annoyed and threw her hands up in the air, hitting back: “Well, I only had about two more words to say”. The snappy exchange led viewers to suspect an offscreen feud and it was reported that Ruth made a complaint to ITV about Phillip’s “rudeness” and the “toxicity” that she claimed he brought to ITV.

“It was about his rudeness,” Eamonn said later in an interview with GB News. “We always had to do this handover between programmes from This Morning and Loose Women about what was coming on next. The Loose Women always felt very demeaned by the whole thing because he was always so rude to them.”

‘Deception’ claims

When Phillip, who had been married to his wife Stephanie for 27 years, came out as gay on This Morning in February 2020, Eamonn and Ruth were by his side. The former couple put rumours of tension to one side to support the star, with the Belfast broadcaster telling Phillip: “It’s fantastic, so many people will be strengthened by this. We’ll be standing beside you.”

Phillip later told social media: “Can I just say that @EamonnHolmes & @RuthieeL were utterly magnificent with me today, privately downstairs just the three of us and upstairs in front of the world. I couldn’t have hoped for a better, calming and loving set of hugs and support, I adore them both.”

The star later confessed to having an affair with a younger colleague on his morning programme and Eamonn went on to claim the couple had been deceived, saying: “The man told us complete lies and we unfortunately believed him”.

“Ruth and I were deceived and lied to,” he raged at both Phillip and ITV. “One day I will tell the story. We had no issue with him being gay, only support. What transpired took us for fools .”

Queue gate

In September 2022, Phillip and his co-presenter Holly Willoughby were blasted for queue-jumping the public to see the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state. While David Beckham was among the huge celebrities to queue for hours, the This Morning duo did not but they insisted they had “respected” the rules set for media.

Eamonn called them both arrogant liars, saying: “They didn’t get a fast-track, they say. Lie. They say they didn’t pay their respects to the body. Lie. What else were they there for? Let’s just tell the truth about the whole thing.

“They messed up, and instead of being arrogant and saying: ‘We were there working as journalists’, why don’t they just say: ‘Yeah, we thought it would be a good idea’.”

The ‘fake friendship’

A month before he resigned from ITV, Phillip hit back at reports he had fallen out with Holly saying she was his “rock” and “best friend”. This prompted Eamonn to say that both he and Holly “deserved a special award for best actors” at the BAFTA TV Awards.

“The public surely will suss that there’s no chemistry,” he said on GB News. “That it’s a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.”

Phillip ‘caught out’

Phillip announced his departure from This Morning on May 20, 2023, after confessing to an affair with a much younger colleague. Eamonn was quick to respond, fuming: “Schofield has finally been caught out”.

“Let’s just stop this,” he told GB News. “He was sacked. All this nonsense about giving him: ‘I’ve decided to step down.’ I’m sure you did, I’m sure you did. Here’s your P45, now step down.”

ITV responded to the comments saying Phillip’s exit from the show was a joint decision with This Morning.

The bombshell claims

In a no holds barred interview last May, Eamonn hit out following the news his former colleague had embarked on a affair with a young runner on This Morning. During the chat, he claimed that Phillip’s ex- lover was driven from his London home in cars paid for by ITV, and made further claims about a “cover-up” about the affair by the channel.

On Thursday, October 3, Fiona Bruce took the helm in Dundee to tackle the nation’s most burning political issues with a panel of experts and politicians.

In the spotlight was Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who has been under fire for accepting £6,000 worth of perks from affluent benefactors since he assumed office, which he is now repaying.

Ian Murray, the Labour MP for Edinburgh South, was swift to defend, asserting: “there is no dishonesty here,” and continued: “There is no lawbreaking here. This is all transparent on the public register.”

The audience member shot back, questioning whether the issue affected the Labour leader’s tax returns, before landing a blow by saying Sir Keir is aware of every penny she has.

However, the topic choice didn’t sit well with viewers. One tweeted: ” Are we still talking about Keir Starmer’s money/spending? Honestly, I do not care. There are BIGGER issues I’d rather hear being discussed. This feels petty…#bbcqt.”

Brendan, is the star and creator of the huge hit sitcom which began on radio in the Nineties and has been on BBC1 since 2011. But TV critics have always blasted the series. Brendan, 69, said: “I’m the same with music and with comedy, it’s subjective, you know? It really is. There’s comedians that people find really funny who I then go, ‘I don’t really get that,’ you know?

“They went through a stage where comedy started to get really snarky and people punching down, and I’d be looking and I went, ‘I don’t know…’

“And then there’s other guys, people who were around me go, ‘Oh no, he’s f***ing hilarious. Are you kidding me, he’s f***ing hilarious!’ And I go, ‘Well… Because it really is, it’s what you call Marmite, that’s what it is and people either love it or they f***ing hate it.

“And you’re gonna have to accept that that’s the way it is. All I have to try and make sure is that the people who love it, I don’t let them down, that I continue to be… I don’t try and change to f***ing convert the others. I am what I am. Brendan is back on tour in Ireland from next month until Christmas, before filming more sitcom episodes for the BBC early next year. Asked if it was snobbery that led to critics and some comedy fans laying into him and his work, he added: “I always remember the year we made Mrs Brown D’Movie, that year – and I have up on the fridge – it held the record as the highest grossed opening of any Irish movie, and it was so far ahead that it was double what the next one was, which was Michael Collins – it was double the figures of Michael Collins.

“And I remember the Irish Film and Television Awards that year, and there wasn’t one nomination in any category. And I remember thinking, ‘That’s odd’.

“But you have to remember that actors, actresses, and f***ing people in the business so I think there’s a little it of begrudgery there, but understandable, you know, they look and they go, ‘This thing is really f***ing successful and the **** is surrounded with his family. F***’s sake! How can you get a gig unless you’re f***ing married to him?

“It must be frustrating for people. Audience-wise, again, I don’t understand. I’ve never gone online or given a quote to say that I thought something was f***ing awful. Never. Because why would you bother? But I have gone on to say, ‘Oh I love that, that is really f***ing good’.

“When we do the mini series, this April, May It’ll be our 56th episode. I signed on for 18. This will be our 56th and in 56 episodes, three of them live, not once has the BBC said to me, ‘Don’t do that. Don’t do this. Don’t do that.’ Never, ever, honest to God, never said it.

“Mrs Brown is Mrs Brown, and they just run it as it is. And I think they understand there is a nostalgic feeling to it.”

BBC presenter Nick Knowles has sensationally pulled out of the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing live show.

The DIY SOS presenter has been forced to quit after picking up a second injury. Nick, 62, has reportedly found himself on crutches following a dress rehearsal disaster when he did a jump and took a bad landing.

This marks the second time misfortune has hit Nick during his time on Strictly after he previously hurt his shoulder and arm whilst changing a car tyre. An insider disclosed: “Nick won’t be able to take part in Strictly tomorrow night after hurting his knee.” They explained the unfortunate incident: “He was in a dress rehearsal with his dance partner Luba Mushtuk when he did a jump and landed awkwardly.”

The source went on to reveal that Nick is currently using crutches to get around is “being supported by the Strictly team” after the “devastating blow”. “They are sending him for scans and are doing everything they can to make sure he is okay,” the insider added before noting Nick being determined to fight and come back from this.

As to Nick’s spirits, the source told The Sun : “This new injury has been a real blow and he is incredibly upset about it. “Luba and Nick are hoping it is just something minor and that he can recover in time for next week.” Nick and Luba were scheduled to perform the Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2 on Saturday for Movie Week.

Confirming the news to the Mirror, a spokesperson for Strictly stated: “Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend.” Clarifying the rules regarding Nicks situation, they concluded: “As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery.”

Nick himself also addressed the news to express how disappointed he was in his misfortune. Taking to X in the wake of his health update making headlines, the star wrote: “I’m absolutely gutted and feeling very very sad” – alongside a sad face emoji.

Appearing on Strictly’s It Takes Two tonight, Nick confirmed his future on the BBC show. He said: “During our rehearsal today… Unfortunately I damaged my knee and it’s quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI (scan).”

His professional partner, Luba Mushtuk added: “Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for next week and we’ll be back on the dancefloor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we’ll be back and see you guys very soon.”

Trying to put a brave face on things, Nick added: “Even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and try and dance for you next week.”

The 20th anniversary series of Strictly only kicked off a few weeks ago but this is already Nick’s second injury! The DIY guru was seen with his arm in a sling last week, having injured it while changing a car tyre and leaving him with only a few hours to prepare for his dance routine at the weekend.

Speaking on BBC’s Morning Live this Tuesday, Nick confirmed that although the injury was still troubling him, there was daily improvement. He optimistically shared, “I’m a lot better. The arm’s getting stronger every day and I’m feeling better. The strength is getting better each day. We’ll need to build this dance a little but around it, but anyway, it’s not an excuse this week I’m either good enough or I’m not.”

Determined to compete, Nick revealed, “We were offered the chance of a bye but I felt like that would be cheating and we really should try and go for it. I spoke to the physios and once that was decided, you just throw yourself into it. The harder you work, the more confidence you gain.” He concluded with high praise for his dance partner, saying, “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have Luba as my teacher, shaping me like a finely-tailored suit which I then make look like I’ve slept in it overnight.”

Nick has received praise for his recent dance, which included lifts despite his arm injury. He discussed how he and Luba must adapt their then upcoming performance to accommodate his injury. Nick hinted the now-scrapped dance would be a high-energy routine, saying: “The rehearsal is going very well. It could be a fast one or it could be a slow one but if you look at the state of me, if it’s a slow one, I’m in real trouble.” Luba expressed excitement about their routine, saying: “It is a really fun dance and we started this morning really, really strong.”

The two ladies were sat on the panel alongside Charlene White and Jane Moore when the conversation turned to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

After wishing the Queen a happy 96th birthday, Charlene asked Nadia what she made of Prince Harry’s comments during an interview with NBC’s Today Show.

Nadia, 57, began: “I think that yesterday was crossing all kinds of lines. I think today is the Queen’s bday and everyone’s gonna be talking about what did he mean.

“If it was purposeful, I don’t think that was fair to his Nan on her birthday, because as he said, it was a private tea, and then to suggest to all the other people that would love his nan, that none of them could protect her and none of them could look after her…

“If he was my brother or my nephew or my grandson, I’d be really put out because what I’m trying to think of this is just family, and that family stuff should be kept private,” Nadia added.

Denise then piped up and said: “They’re not just a normal family and I honestly disagree with you completely about that. You’ve gotta remember everybody says, ‘well stop talking about them then Harry if you’re not the royal family anymore!’

“He said, ‘I’m just making sure the right people are around her’, I think that probably was loaded and quite rightly so!” Denise added, as Nadia butted in and asked: “But why?!”

Someone else posted: “This programme gets worse, all women talking over each other, almost screeching #LooseWomen.”

And another who agreed with Denise said: “Denise the only one talking sense about Harry #LooseWomen.”
