Prince William has come to a ‘difficult’ realisation about his younger brother Harry, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a strained relationship with the Royal Family and they are currently estranged from the Prince and Princess of Wales. Now royal author Tom Quinn claims that after all this time apart, William has had a great deal of thinking time and has come up with a sad conclusion. Quinn told The Mirror : “Increasingly as time goes on William realises he really doesn’t need Harry any more – he feels Harry has been the complete opposite of a supporting younger brother and everything he does makes William‘s life more difficult.

“Harry is also a reminder of past trauma and upset which William sees as very damaging to the monarchy and anything that damages the monarchy damages William’s future and that of his heir Prince George.” Despite the past hurt, it has not stopped Prince William trying to be a big brother to Harry as much as possible. Prince William and Princess Kate are trying their best to end their feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a source.

Quinn previously claimed William and Kate have tried to fix this, but reckons Meghan is not ready to let things go. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Tom said: “There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness – Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening. Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it. Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”

Just days ago, Tom opened up about the lengths Prince William and Kate were willing to go to mend their relationship with the Sussexes. He claims the couple have reached out to Meghan and Harry and urged them to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK to visit. However, it’s believed Meghan has refused.

Tom told us: “There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.” Meghan and Harry are not close with William and Kate and the Sussexes hit out at their family members in their Netflix docuseries, as well as their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry also made a number of accusations about his brother and sister-in-law in his debut memoir Spare.

In the book, the Duke of Sussex opened up about an explosive row he had with William, during which the Prince of Wales allegedly called Harry’s wife Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”. Minutes before the coronation, Buckingham Palace updated the royal family’s website to include Camilla’s new designation – though insiders point out she had been using it already.

“This isn’t about Anne’s loyalty to her mum – this is about protocol.”

Since the tense dinner, Camilla has largely avoided Anne. They weren’t pictured together at the coronation, besides the family portrait in which the King was placed between them. For now, Anne is being “respectful”, continues the source, and getting back to work.

However, they say that she will remain critical of Camilla if she does not toe The Firm’s line.

Some reports suggest the pair only met for 12 minutes, and the King declined to see his rebel son again when the Duke visited Britain on May 8 for an Invictus Games event.

The fifth in line to the throne is said to be “adamant” in his determination to get in touch with his father, as he reportedly feels that both he and his family could be in danger.

“Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” a Sussex source spilled to an outlet.

Another source came forward and stated: “Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs.”

King Charles wants a Sussex-less vacation at Balmoral Castle this summer. 

The King and his “spare” are allegedly “at loggerheads over Harry’s security requests and are no longer communicating,” before revealing: “Harry has genuine security concerns about the safety of his family in light of his mother’s death and feels that his father can help him in his ongoing battle with RAVEC (the entity that oversees security).”

Royal security is tied to the annual Sovereign Grant, and administered by the government. As a hereditary monarch, King Charles cannot compel the elected British government to take action solely because Harry needs something.

Catherine, Princess of Wales has been in the hearts and minds of people around the world these past few months, after the royal announced she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatments.

But today, Princess Kate revealed an inspiring update to her progress: she has finished chemotherapy and is now “cancer-free.”

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the Princess of Wales said in a statement released by Kensington Palace today.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

Catherine writes that after finishing chemotherapy, she will begin to take on more public engagements, but her focus will be on her health and staying cancer-free: “My path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she wrote.

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling,” she concluded. “To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”

The inspiring update is a rare bit of encouraging news in what has been a very difficult year for the British royal family, in which both Catherine and King Charles III have been diagnosed with cancer. Charles, who announced his diagnosis in February, returned to public duties in the spring.

But Kate’s health battle generated even more attention and intense media coverage. In January, she announced she would be hospitalized for what was reportedly an abdominal surgery. But her long absence from public life fueled rumors that her health was actually worse than the palace was admitting.

King Charles employed Annabel Elliot as chief estates designer after his marriage to Camilla in 2005.

Elliot was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to decorate and renew the Duchy’s heritage holiday homes in Cornwall, Wales and the Isles of Scilly.

The Prince of Wales, 42, assumed control of the Duchy of Cornwall, the Royal Family’s 700-year-old estate providing income to the heir, after Charles ascended the throne in 2022.

According to its latest Integrated Annual Report published on Wednesday, William has opted not to retain the Queen’s sister or her design services in the 2023-2024 year.

“During the period to 8th September 2022 the Duchy paid Mrs. Annabel Elliot, the 24th Duke of Cornwall’s sister-in-law, in the normal course of business and on an arm’s length basis £19,625 (AUD$38,558) for fees and commission and £12,316 (AUD$24,197) for the purchase of furniture, furnishings and retail stock for the Duchy of Cornwall Holiday accommodation, Duchy offices and Duchy Nursery,” the report said.

“At 31st March 2024, there was £nil (2023: £nil) [nothing] remaining payable to Mrs. Elliot in respect of these.”

Sources on Wednesday confirmed to The Telegraph that William chose not to continue Elliot’s employment, “although it is not a reflection of her work”.

The sources said the Queen’s sister was completing her work according to a “temporary contract” and it had simply “finished”.

They also said Duchy staff “no longer needed” the 75-year-old’s “guidance”.

It’s understood Elliot was paid “in the normal course of business and on an arm’s length basis” for her work.

He remuneration included “fees and commission” and reimbursement for the “purchase of furniture, furnishings and retail stock”.

She reportedly did not have any competition for the job, with the duchy previously stating its design contracts were not open to bid on.

The move comes during William’s first full year managing the estate as the new Duke of Cornwall.

He received $30 million from his first full year’s income from the duchy.

The sum mostly covers the annual official, charitable and private costs for himself, his wife Princess Catherine and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

William reportedly pays income tax on money he receives from the duchy excluding household costs but he has not disclosed the tax bill like his father has historically done.

 

Meghan Markle HAPPILY boasted that according to a survey in the US, her popularity is much higher than the rest of the royal family.

According to a new poll conducted by Newsweek, the Duchess of Sussex was liked by 36 percent of the adults polled.

Meghan was disliked by 24 percent which gave her an approval rating of plus 12-equal to King Charles III.

Despite this, Meghan’s rating shows a stark decline from the poll conducted just three months ago, in February.

The poll from at the start of the year shows Meghan was favoured by 31 percent of the adults polled and unfavourable to 30 percent. Much like Meghan, the latest poll shows King Charles is favoured by 31 percent of adults polled.

Although he also has a net approval of plus 12, the 75-year-old was only unfavourable to 19 percent.

However, the latest boost in the new poll will likely be welcomed by the Duchess of Sussex, who solt-launched her new brand back in March. Prince Harry experienced a drop by two percent from his previous result in the Tebruary poll. The Duke of Sussex, who is currently in the UK was levoured by 12 percent and unfavoured by 18 percent.

In the same poll, Prince William – who will not meet his brother in the UK this week – was liked by 10 percent of those polled. Only 12 percent of those polled stated they disliked him.

Meghan Markle could be set to spend Christmas with Prince Harry and their children in the UK this year, it has been claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly received an invite to spend the festive period with Charles Spencer at Althorp, Express.co.uk has learned.

If the couple do accept the invite, it will be the first time Meghan has properly set foot in the UK since the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.

The source adds that Harry and Meghan have not yet received an invitation to join the Royal Family at their annual Sandringham gathering – and it’s not thought they would accept even if one was extended.

According to the Express, the source said: “Charles [Spencer] has invited Harry, Meghan and the children to Althorp this Christmas,” said the source. “It’s far too early to say whether they will take him up on it, but the offer is there if they want it.

“There hasn’t been an invitation extended to Sandringham just yet, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be one forthcoming.

“It would be highly unlikely if there was an invitation extended [to Sandringham] and I don’t think they [the Sussexes) would take them up on it anyway.”

Harry and Meghan have been notably absent from the Royal Family’s Christmas gathering at Sandringham since 2018. The couple were also excluded from the Firm’s “summer summit” at Balmoral last week.

It was reported that Harry visited Althorp House – the Spencer ancestral home and final resting place of his late mother – during his trip to the UK last week. The Duke, who is set to celebrate his 40th birthday next week, attended Lord Robert Fellowes’ memorial service in Norfolk on August 28.

Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the service in Snettisham, Norfolk, and is reported to have stayed at the Althorp estate in Northamptonshire.

The funeral was also attended by his brother, Prince William, but eyewitnesses claimed the estranged brothers kept their distance and sat apart at the back of St Mary’s Church.

The service took place just two days before the 27th anniversary of Diana’s death. Her final resting place is on an island on the Oval Lake at Althorp.

A royal expert has spoken about the Firm’s continued decision to take no notice of Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare.

The Royal Family has “called” Prince Harry’s bluff as the Firm continues to “ignore” the Duke of Sussex’s blistering allegations, an expert has claimed.

Ever since the release of his shock memoir Spare in early 2023, the royals have kept quiet on the allegations levelled at their members both in the Duke’s autobiography and in the interviews he did to promote it.

Prince Harry demanded an apology from the Royal Family, especially over the apparent treatment of Meghan Markle during her time as a senior working royal, in order to begin bridging the gap separating his family from the Firm.

However, reports that Prince Harry wants to reconcile with his father King Charles have emerged in recent weeks, despite the Firm not issuing a public apology.

According to the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English, this likely boils down to the fact family members have “called his bluff” by opting to remain silent.

Speaking about Harry on the latest episode of Palace Confidential, Ms English said: “As regards to the apology, what I think this boils down to is the Royal Family have called his bluff.

“They haven’t reacted to any of his demands or his threats, either publicly or privately. I mean they pretty much have ignored the fact that Spare had been published.”

Likening the Royal Family’s reaction to dealing with a toddler having a tantrum, she added: “It’s like don’t listen, don’t make a fuss, don’t give into it, just let it through, it’ll blow away and harmony will restore itself.”

Ms English also said that she believes the idea of silence is “the right approach”.

Spare, released in January 2023, featured various claims about the Royal Family, including discussing details of an alleged physical confrontation with Prince William in 2019.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to step back from royal duties in early 2020.

The couple, along with their young son, moved to the US in March of that year and have settled in California. They then welcomed their daughter in June 2021.
