Royal Family: Prince Harry’s fury over two-word Meghan Markle comment

Prince Harry and Prince William are no longer on speaking terms, with signs of rift starting even before the Sussexes sensationally quit the Royal Family.

Prince Harry was reportedly left furious at his brother  Prince William after a two-word comment he made about Meghan Markle.

The brothers, who were so tight growing up, are no longer on speaking terms, however it is believed the rift began just before Harry’s 2018 wedding.

In the Harry and Meghan biography, Finding Freedom, Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie say that William feared his brother had been “blindsided by lust” in his bid to marry Meghan not long after meeting her.

The co-authors claim the Duke of Sussex was angered and offended by William’s unwanted advice to “take as much time as you need to get to know this girl”.

According to the pair, William was happy for his brother, but “just wanted to make sure that Harry wasn’t blindsided by lust”. Harry reportedly took offence and got angry with the two-word phrase “this girl”, which he interpreted as “snobbish” from his older brother.

Duchess Sophie sparked a  right royal frenzy with her latest frock during another appearance in Malta.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended the King’s Birthday Reception at the residence of the British High Commissioner, Villa de Giorgio in Naxxar, on the third day of the royal tour.

Edward and Sophie travelled to Malta on Monday for a four-day visit to mark the 60th anniversary of its independence and celebrate the country’s shared heritage and continuing collaboration with the UK.

On Wednesday evening, Sophie looked stunning in Zimmerman’s Halcyon midi dress (£895) which she paired with a pair of red suede pointy heels by Jimmy Choo (£650)

She accessorised the look with Giulia Barela’s Africa ring (£128), a Monica Vinader friendship bracelet (£128) and the mini Swank bracelet by Roxanne Assoulin (£91).

A fourth one commented: “Beautiful! Sophie loves her Jimmy Choo pumps! but her dresses are always perfect.”

While a fifth one opined: “This dress!!! Another stunner that I’d love to wear. She’s always so lovely.”

Earlier in the day, Edward and Sophie toured Villa Guardamangia in the outskirts of the Maltese capital Valletta and heard about restoration work taking place on the now dilapidated building.

The late Queen and Philip lived there between 1949 and 1951 while the prince was stationed in Malta as a serving Royal Navy officer.

Meghan Markle plans ‘big comeback’ as duchess no longer ‘cares about what people think’

Meghan Markle no longer “cares what people think” and has big plans for the future, says source.

Meghan Markle is planning on a “big comeback” and her recent appearance is proof of that, a source has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex turned heads after she stepped out in a bright red dress last weekend to attend a children’s hospital gala in LA.

Meghan’s striking appearance was a contrast to how she used to dress up when she was still a working royal, before her and Prince Harry’s move to the US in 2020.

Now a source claimed that her bold looks are part of the duchess’s big comeback as she aims to take on Hollywood yet again and “doesn’t care what people think”.

They told OK! magazine: “Before she met Harry she would always wear eye-catching outfits like that on the red carpet and would love the attention they would bring.

“She has admitted herself that once she became a royal she really had to tone down her wardrobe and make more conservative choices as well as claiming she wasn’t allowed to wear a lot of colour.”

They added: “Since leaving, she has slowly been getting more daring with her choices and this appearance proved that she is finally free of her royal era and doesn’t want to be associated with that part of her life anymore.

“Both she and Harry are pursuing their own career goals and Meghan has decided that when she’s doing solo events, she’s going to be the star of the show. She has lots of exciting projects coming up, including the launch of her new Netflix cooking show, and this is just the start of her fun and sexy new look.”

They claimed that Meghan’s time in the Royal Family made her “sad and anxious”, even feeling like she “lost part of herself” but is now getting it all back.

They explained: “She doesn’t care what people think, she spent so long worrying about whether she was wearing the right outfit and if it was appropriate and now she just wants to be herself.

“Meghan has no plans to even go back to being a royal and this dress shows that she’s distancing herself from them and everything she used to be.”

Royal fans have gushed at Princess Kate’s surprise appearance as she met emergency workers and bereaved families of the Southport attack.

The Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance alongside Prince William to support the community of Southport in her first public outing since her chemotherapy treatment ended – and royal fans have expressed their delight with her visit.

Royal sources say she decided to join Prince William to show her “support, empathy and compassion to the local community” of Merseyside.

The royal couple held a private meeting with the families of the three girls killed in the summer – Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine. The three girls were all fatally stabbed during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on July 29 in the north-west seaside town.

Although the Princess of Wales was not officially scheduled to visit Southport today, she felt well enough to attend the engagement with her husband to show her support and compassion to members of the local community.

Royal fans are pleased she is back in action and participating in royal engagements. On social media one fan wrote: “Great to see her out and smiling and looking well, continued love and good health to her and her family.”

One X user wrote: “Good to see her looking well, thoughts with all the people in that community.”

Arriving to meet members of the community, Kate wore a chocolate ankle-length coat with buttons down the middle and held on to a dark-coloured, matching clutch bag. Underneath her coat, Kate wore an on-trend burgundy and white polka dot dress.

User @ShirleyL60 wrote: “How wonderful to see her back and look radiant as ever.”

Another said: “Yes Catherine. You are back. With a smile on your face, a spring in your step and more bounce in your curls than there’s ever been.”

The royal couple also joined emergency responders who attended the scene on the day of the attack to hear about their experiences and meet health practitioners. Willam told the personnel, “you’re all heroes” as the couple spoke to fire crews, police officers and paramedics.

On social media platform X, after the visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales issued a touching message to the community. It read: “We continue to stand with everyone in Southport. Meeting the community today has been a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting one another in the wake of unimaginable tragedy.

“You will remain in our thoughts and prayers. W & C.”

Speaking afterwards, Chief fire officer for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Phil Garrigan said that Kate had been so moved by what she had heard that she went back to give the emergency responders a hug.

He said: “The Princess of Wales broke off and came back into the building to give a hug to the people who responded because she could see the emotion in them and could see it was difficult for them to relay their feelings and to say how impactful events have been.”

Through their Royal Foundation, William and Kate also made a donation to the National Police Wellbeing Service’s fundraiser to help fast-track psychological and physical rehab for police and ambulance personnel.

Just five minutes ago, Prince William, in tears, announced to the entire British nation that King Charles has…

In a shocking and heartbreaking announcement just moments ago, Prince William appeared before the British public in tears to share the devastating news that King Charles III had passed away. The news has shaken the nation to its core, marking the end of an era for the royal family and the United Kingdom. King Charles, who ascended to the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, had been a symbol of continuity and stability for the monarchy. His reign, though not as long as his mother’s, was filled with efforts to modernize the institution and bridge the gap between tradition and the evolving world.

Throughout his reign, King Charles III focused on environmental advocacy and charitable work, continuing his lifelong passion for sustainability and conservation. However, in recent months, rumors about his declining health had surfaced, although there were no official confirmations from the palace. The sudden announcement of his death has left many in shock, as the king had been seen in public just days before, attending various royal duties. His passing leaves a profound sense of loss not only for his family but for the entire country.

Prince William’s emotional address to the nation was filled with sorrow, as he expressed his deep grief over the loss of his father. He spoke of King Charles’s dedication to his role and his commitment to the people of the United Kingdom. As the heir apparent, Prince William now finds himself stepping into a leadership role much earlier than anticipated. The royal family, including William, Kate, and their children, will be under immense scrutiny as they navigate this period of transition.

The death of King Charles marks a significant moment in British history, and preparations for his state funeral are likely already underway. The United Kingdom will enter a period of mourning, and royal observers expect to see an outpouring of tributes and condolences from world leaders and members of the public alike.

As the country reflects on King Charles’s legacy, attention will also turn to Prince William and the future of the monarchy. This moment of profound sadness will also be one of great change, as the next chapter of the royal family begins under the new leadership of King William V.

Prince Harry loses family ‘title’ as other royal steps in to replace him

Since Prince Harry relocated to sunny Montecito in California, it appears he has lost an important role within his family.

For years, Prince Harry reportedly filled the role of the “fun uncle” – known for his cheeky personality, playful antics, and close connection to his niece and nephews.

However, with Harry’s departure from the royal fold following his move to California in 2020, another royal is said to have stepped up to assume the mantle – Mike Tindall.

Body language expert Judi James told Fabulous magazine how Prince George deeply relies on Zara Tindall’s husband. She said: “George’s original ‘fun uncle’ and adult playmate did that infamous bolt to the US, leaving a huge Harry-shaped gap in the young boy’s life that Mike has more than filled.”

She added: “Mike is the fun uncle everyone needs, but in the case of Prince George, whose destiny is all about duty and responsible behaviour, Mike’s presence in his life is completely invaluable.”

The body language expert went on to describe how the former England rugby star’s presence can be “invaluable” for Prince George, growing up.

She added: “Mike is the fun uncle everyone needs, but in the case of Prince George, whose destiny is all about duty and responsible behaviour, Mike’s presence in his life is completely invaluable.”

She also noted: “He will joke with the royals but he won’t be critical or indiscreet.”

Prince Harry, however, has been notably critical of his time within the Royal Family, showcasing intricate details both in his bombshell memoir, Spare, and via a six-episode docuseries on Netflix, titled ‘Harry & Meghan’.

The memoir covered a wide range of subjects from his fractious relationship with his brother Prince William to the struggles after his mother Diana’s death in 1997.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment about any of the contents of the book at the time of its release.

The Princess of Wales has joined her husband in Southport today, marking her first in-person engagement since she revealed she had completed her chemotherapy.

Princess Kate made a surprise visit to Southport with her husband yesterday to meet the families of the three young girls who were killed in July’s horror stabbing.

Although Kate, 42, has attended public engagements this year, such as Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, her visit to the grieving Merseyside town marks her first community engagement since last December.

She wasn’t originally due to join Prince William in Southport on Thursday, but just ahead of his arrival Kensington Palace announced that Kate had decided to join him.

It is understood that she wanted to “show her support, empathy and compassion to the local community”.

The couple privately met the families of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, who were all killed in the knife rampage that took place on July 29, as the children attended a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop.

They also spent time with dance teacher Leanne Lucas, 35, who was critically wounded after being stabbed in the neck, back and arms as she fought to protect her class.

After spending around 90 minutes with the families they walked the short distance to Southport Community Centre where they joined emergency responders involved in the attack to hear about their experiences and meet health practitioners supporting the “blue light” community in Southport.

Willam told the personnel “you’re all heroes” as the couple sat side by side on a bench and comforted tearful fire crews, police officers and paramedics who recalled the traumatic events of that day.

Kate, who wore a long brown coat and heels with her hair down and curled, asked what mental health support has been available to them, adding: “For you to witness that, you need support yourselves.”

One police officer told the couple of suffering anxiety following the attack and being off work.

Kate and William nodded as they listened to the experiences.

Referencing the earlier meeting with the families of those who died in the attack, the Princess said: “I can’t underestimate how grateful they all are for the support you provided on the day.

“On behalf of them, thank you.”

Asked how the families were coping, Kate said they are all coping in different ways.

“They’re ok,” she said. “They’re managing it differently. All the families are so different. Individually too they are managing it and processing this tragic event in very different ways but they’re getting support from families and officers and things like that.”

William added: “You’re all heroes. Please make sure you look after yourselves, please take your time, don’t rush back to work.”

He then lightened the mood by insisting “get inside and get yourself a cup of tea to get warm” after a 30-minute meeting in the community centre’s garden.

Kate rested a hand on William’s back as she joined him to speak to a member of air ambulance crew.

Speaking afterwards, Chief fire officer for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service Phil Garrigan said that Kate had been so moved by what she had heard that she went back to give the emergency responders a hug.
He said: “The Princess of Wales broke off and came back into the building to give a hug to the people who responded because she could see the emotion in them and could see it was difficult for them to relay their feelings and to say how impactful events have been.
“I think that just shows a really caring side and is very, very touching for them.”

Former chief constable Andy Rhodes, who is involved in The Royal Foundation’s Blue Light Together programme, said the visit had been a “massive boost” to emergency workers.

William and Kate’s visit follows a similar engagement held by the King in August when he also met the bereaved families and emergency workers.

Following the attack in the summer, the prince and princess issued a statement saying: “As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through.

“We send our love, thoughts and prayers to all those involved in this horrid and heinous attack.”

Through their Royal Foundation they also made a donation to the National Police Wellbeing Service’s fundraiser to help fast-track psychological and physical rehab for police and ambulance personnel.

The couple have long been supports of mental health and it’s no coincidence that their visit to Southport fell on World Mental Health Day.

Ensuring emergency responders receive long-term mental health support following traumatic events is a cause close to the heart of The Prince of Wales, given his first-hand experience as an emergency responder while serving as a pilot with RAF search and rescue and East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Axel Rudakubana, who was 17 years old at the time and has now turned 18, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Earlier on Thursday, Sarah Ferguson praised the Princess of Wales for “showing the world what it is to really look after yourself”.

The duchess of York, appearing on ITV1’s This Morning, told how she was “so moved” by Kate’s video last month announcing the end of her cancer treatment.

The duchess described the footage as “just incredible” and added: “I think that’s extraordinary, what’s she doing.”

Fergie, who was herself diagnosed with skin cancer in January after being treated for breast cancer last year, told presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: “The video that the princess did was just incredible. I was so moved. It was beautiful.”

Yesterday’s visit marks Kate’s first public engagement since she announced that she has completed her course of chemotherapy.

In an emotional video message, the royal said she would begin doing more work but would only be carrying out light public duties as she continues her recovery.

She is expected to attend the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph on November 10, and plans to attend her annual Christmas Carol service at Westminster Abbey the following month.

While attending a London event to showcase the importance of supporting young people in the games and television industries, Prince William described a sweet family dynamic between all his children.

Prince William described how Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, all fight over the TV remote at home.

During a chat with a National Film and Television School (NFTS) student, Erik Scott, on Wednesday, Prince William joked that his three children are “always wrestling over the remote” as he hailed the arts as “an important part of the fabric of our lives”. He also joked that there is now so much screen content to choose from.

The event, which was co-hosted by The British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) and The Royal African Society, saw the eldest son of King Charles meet with the 2024 recipients of The Prince William BAFTA Bursary fund and students who have been supported by the society.

Prince William attended the event in central London as the President of the arts organisation and Patron of the Society.

Leading British actors Andy Serkis, Celia Imrie and Stephen Merchant also attended the event as donors to the bursary and spoke of the importance of supporting the next generation.

The prince shared jokes with each of the actors after he thanked them for continuing to support the bursary.

Director Greengrass is also a champion of the financial award which provides grants of up to £2,000 to help young people from underrepresented groups advance their career in film, games or television. It was launched in 2021 and has so far provided 167 grants.

The royal spent time with students from the National Film and TV School (NFTS) who have been supported by the Royal African Society and who are working on the upcoming Film Africa festival, which promotes diverse voices and narratives in African storytelling.

The festival, which runs during Black History Month, is the largest of its kind for African heritage filmmakers in Europe, and this year marks its 11th event.

The heir to the throne joined students in a conversation about the importance of showcasing the creativity of African filmmakers to global audiences.

Prince William also added that, as the President of BAFTA, he is “very proud” to be involved with this organisation that is “dedicated to breaking down barriers for the storytellers of the future”.

According to the royal, opening the door to the creative industries to as many young and talented individuals as possible means also making sure that “young people are exposed to as wide a variety of voices and narratives as possible, as early as possible”.

He also stressed it was important that young people from all backgrounds can see themselves reflected on screen.

Prince Harry changed when he met Meghan Markle and ‘cut us all dead’, says expert

Prince Harry used to be “so much fun” before he met Meghan Markle, says a leading royal photographer.

Prince Harry “changed” dramatically after he started dating Meghan Markle and “cut everyone dead”, a royal photographer has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex has been married to the Duchess since 2018 but their love story began sometime in 2016, when they began dating and he fell head over heels with her.

Harry and Meghan now live in Montecito, California, after they quit their royal duties and moved across the pond in 2020, just two years after their wedding.

And now the Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards – who has been a royal snapper for 45 years – spoke about his own experience with the prince and how he allegedly changed after meeting Meghan.

He told the outlet’s live show: “He used to say ‘I’ll do everything I can to make it good for you, and that’s what shocked me when he just cut us all dead, that one time up in Manchester.

“I’ll never forget and I was shocked and it was just the day he met Meghan or the day he fell in love with Meghan, and it’s all changed since then.

“I feel sad about that because he was a fabulous person to work with.”

Mr Edwards added that Harry “used to be so much fun” during royal engagements before the change.

He said: “I remember when he met the Jamaican Prime Minister, instead of saying ‘hello ma’am, ‘pleased to meet you’ he just hugged her.

“And I said ‘what did you do that for’ and he said ‘because my father said she likes a hug so I thought I’d get in first’ and that’s what he was like, it was so much fun.”

He added: “And then we went to Brazil and he playing football with the kids on the beach and he’s running a road race and as he finished the race he had a picture of William on his face.

“He was fun and he was surprising.”

A royal expert has said that Prince Harry changed after meeting  Meghan Markle, who he believes was the reason why he left the UK.

On The Sun’s first Royal Exclusive Live show, veteran photographer Arthur Edwards said that Meghan left Harry with no choice but to leave the Royal Family with her.

He said: “The first year with Meghan she was fantastic. I travelled everywhere with them.

“She was a star, engaging with the public, doing everything you’d expect a lady married into the royal family to do.

“Then suddenly, everything changed. Meghan said ‘we are going’ and that was it.

“And as we say, he made that decision and disappeared. That was his choice.”

Edwards, who has been a royal photographer for 45 years, said the decision was “fair” by the couple, however their actions since have shown a different side to the prince as the pair became “nasty” about the Royal Family to make money.

This was a completely different side to the duke, 40, which the royal photographer said he had not seen before.

Edwards said: “He was fun and he was surprising. And he used to say ‘I’ll do everything I can to make it good for you’, and that’s what shocked me when he just cut us all dead, that one time up in Manchester. I’ll never forget and I was shocked and it was just the day he met Meghan or the day he fell in love with Meghan, and it’s all changed since then.

“I feel sad about that because he was a fabulous person to work with.”

The insight comes after Prince Harry has just completed a string of solo engagements without Meghan Markle by his side, with some believing that this could be the start of something new for the duke.

He appeared by himself in the UK for the WellChild Awards 2024, with body language expert Judi James stating that he looked “delighted” to be back in a “princely” role.
