A 10-year-old tweet from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on none other than Taylor Swift has resurfaced.

Swift is in a relationship with Mahomes’ close friend and teammate, Travis Kelce. The Grammy Award-winning singer attended most of the Chiefs’ games this season, including each of their postseason games and the Super Bowl 58 triumph over the San Francisco 49es.

Incredibly, Mahomes sent out an old tweet from Nov. 24, 2013 that reads “Why does Taylor win everything.” The tweet was actually deleted by Mahomes at some point, but some heads-up fans screenshotted the tweet before it could be gone forever:

Little did Mahomes, Swifties and the entire NFL world know just how well that tweet would age more than a decade later. The 14-time Grammy Award winner is among the most accomplished and beloved singers of all-time, and then she got to witness her boyfriend become a three-time Super Bowl champion in person.

After a slow first half in the big game, Kelce was practically unstoppable in the second half and overtime against the San Francisco 49es. The future Hall of Famer finished the day with nine receptions for 93 yards, helping set up Mecole Hardman’s game-winning touchdown in the extra frame.

 

With the victory, the Chiefs also became the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowl championships since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots.

Nikki Garcia and Brie Garcia are huge supporters of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

 

“She’s so in love,” Nikki, 40, told the Daily Mail in a Wednesday, November 22, TikTok video. “It’s because she finally has a real man … He grabs her and throws her around.”

Brie, 40, then clarified that her sister meant Kelce, 34, only tosses Swift, 33, around “in the bedroom.”

“She’s just so powerful,” Nikki gushed. “Her aura [has] strong energy and she needs a man who can handle [her].”

Swift and Kelce were first linked in September, when she attended his Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears. At the time, she cheered him on from his private suite and bonded with his mom, Donna Kelce.

The following month, she attended more games and was even seen on two date nights in-a-row with Travis. At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly, “Travis is different from anybody Taylor has dated before and she is falling for him more and more as the days go by.”

The insider added, he “goes out of his way to make Taylor feel special in any way he can … Taylor couldn’t believe the massive bouquet of flowers Travis sent to her just because.”

Ahead of Swift’s Eras Tour kicking back up in South America, a source told Us, “Travis and Taylor are a very real couple … They have very detailed plans coming up on how to stay together while she’s on tour and he has games.”

He later appeared at her Buenos Aires show on November 11, and was seen cheering her on with her dad, Scott Swift.

During the concert, Taylor surprised fans by swapping the lyrics to “Karma” to give Travis a shoutout. “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” she sang as the crowd went wild.

After the show wrapped, Taylor ran up to Travis and gave him a kiss.

For most parents, having a baby means experiencing disrupted nights and exhaustion. Many moms and dads will try anything to get their children to sleep, including singing, telling stories and playing music. And some parents swear that listening to Taylor Swift has an almost hypnotic effect on their children—and helps to send them off to sleep.

“It was right around the time the Folklore and Evermore albums came out when I was pregnant and postpartum with her,” she told Newsweek. “I am a huge Taylor fan, so I was listening to the music anyway, and realized it really worked with soothing her to sleep, especially when we were in the car—which she hated.”

She decided to share her discovery on Instagram and was inundated with messages from other parents, who said Swift helped their children to sleep too. “I ended up creating a playlist on Spotify and have tons and tons of testimonials from parents, saying it works like a charm,” she added.

Of course, as many parents will confirm, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to getting a baby to go to sleep. It takes trial and error—and a child can go from sleeping through the night to waking up every few hours for a number of reasons, from teething to general development.

However, a growing body of research supports the theory that babies benefit from listening to music as they enjoy it—although it depends on the type of music.

Research has shown that quiet, gentle music can bring down a newborn’s heart rate and soothe their stress. In part, this may be because listening to music triggers the release of endorphins—a hormone that promotes a sense of happiness and contentment. In fact, listening to music can also aid a baby’s cognitive development and language skills.

But why are some parents swearing by Taylor Swift for an easier bedtime?

Nicole Ratcliffe, a sleep specialist supporting parents who are struggling with sleep at Baby 2 Sleep, told Newsweek it may have more to do with the parents themselves.

“If the parent is feeling calm, less anxious or hopeful that the music works, this calmness may rub off on their baby,” she explains. “How we feel as parents has a lot to do with how our little ones settle. If we are feeling anxious and our breathing and heart rate are faster, this is what our little ones pick up.”

But if we’re listening to music we enjoy—whatever it might be—we may be more likely to feel calmer and happier, which likely influences how a baby feels.

Ratcliffe listened to All Too Well by Taylor Swift and said the 10-minute version had a relaxing, hypnotic feel.

“There appears to be a really nice low tone under the melody, which is a bit like white noise. The harmonies are nice and it doesn’t get too loud or heavy in the beat,” she said.

“That being said, I don’t think the baby is listening to it and thinking it’s a great song to fall asleep to. It could be that the parent is breathing more slowly and more rhythmically, which offers a nice stable and secure feel for the baby.”

Ratcliffe added that there likely isn’t a magic song that helps babies sleep—and if there is, it is yet to be discovered. In 2016, however, psychologists at Goldsmiths, University of London teamed up with singer-songwriter Imogen Heap to develop a mood-enhancing track for babies.

They surveyed 2,300 parents and found that the sounds most likely to make infants happy included sneezing (51 percent), animal noises (23 percent) and baby laughter (28 percent). The resulting track, The Happy Song, features all of these things—plus raspberries, rhythmic plosive sounds—like pa and ba—and a gentle, upbeat tempo.

So what else can help babies sleep? According to Ratcliffe, how you feel as a parent can play a big role. “A calm and confident parent is likely to have better results than a parent who is worried, questioning themselves and not sure what to do,” she said.

He added that the “celebrity attendance was pretty unreal.”

“It’s the Vegas Super Bowl baby, the stars are out. You gotta love it, man,” Travis replied. “Taylor thrives in those situations, she’s been in them countless times in her life.”

Swift had plenty of other viral moments during the game and at the afterparty with boyfriend Travis and the rest of the Chiefs after their Super Bowl win. The couple were spotted serenading each other with some of the singer’s hits (including “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me”), enjoying a 5 a.m. snack at the club and sharing an on-field kiss, of course.

A Chiefs fan risked life and limb to tackle a shooter and prevent anyone else from getting hurt at the team’s victory parade on Wednesday.

The team took to the Kansas City streets to celebrate their third Super Bowl win in the last five years and it should have been a festive affair. However, the event was marred by a shocking development, with multiple people reportedly injured after two shooters opened fire at its conclusion.

 

Police advised fans to evacuate the area and have since reported making two arrests.

But a fan is being credited for his bravery as he risked it all to take one of the shooters down, making sure no one else was injured or worse.

This was indeed a show of courage and selflessness as the man in question could have easily lost his life. Thankfully, that was not the case, with the shooter was subdued until the police could get there to apprehend him.
