Watch Jason Kelce Call Out Travis for His Viral Interaction with Coach Andy Reid.

They discussed the heated moment went viral during the Super Bowl.

BY COUNTRY LIVING STAFFPUBLISHED: FEB 19, 2024 9:35 AM EST

Super Bowl LVIII was filled with viral moments, from Reba McEntire’s emotional rendition of the National Anthem to Usher’s epic halftime performance to Taylor Swift chugging a beer in the stands to the Kansas City Chiefs’ exciting overtime win. But few were as jaw-dropping as Travis Kelce’s interaction with head coach Andy Reid. The moment shocked fans and immediately received the meme treatment on social media.

The intense moment happened during the second quarter of the game, when Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco fumbled the ball while going in to score. Travis, who was on the sidelines during the play, was caught on camera bumping into his coach and screaming in his face.

Travis initially laughed off the exchange after the game, saying he was just telling his coach how much he loves him. But during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis’s older brother Jason held him accountable for the interaction.

Jason said, “I think we can both agree you were out of line,” and Travis said, “I can’t get that fired up where I’m bumping into Coach Reid and catching him off balance.” Jason continued, calling the interaction “unacceptable.” He said, “Let’s be honest, the yelling in his face is out of line. I think there’s better ways to handle this.”

Jason explained that he has been involved in similar interactions on the football field. He said, “We both know that one of our weaknesses is our emotions, and one of our strengths is our emotions. One of our downsides is that we’re not great at controlling our emotions, and I wish we were better at it.”

Travis explained, “It’s definitely unacceptable and I wish I could’ve took it back.” He continued, “Sometimes the emotions get the best of me…Sometimes my passion comes out in a way of negativity, but I’m glad [Coach Reid] knows that I just wanted to win this thing.”

As for Coach Reid, he was not bothered by the interaction. The Chiefs coach previously told reporters, “The part I love is [Travis] loves to play the game, and he wants to help his team win. It’s not a selfish thing, that’s not what it is, and I understand that. And so as much as, you know, he bumps into me, I get after him. And we understand that. He just caught me off balance.”

Travis said, “I love Coach Reid, Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him, how much I love to be a product of his coaching career. I’m not playing for anybody else but Big Red. If he calls it quits this year I’m out of there with him, man.”

Both Coach Reid and Travis have said that they’ll be back with the Chiefs to defend their Super Bowl title next year.

  • Why the audio of Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl 2024 blowup at Andy Reid could stay buried forever.

Why the audio of Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl 2024 blowup at Andy Reid could stay buried forever.

One of the most volatile moments in Super Bowl history seems destined to remain a mystery.

After running back Isiah Pacheco fumbled in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVIII with the Chiefs trailing the 49ers, 3-0, star tight end Travis Kelce — who had been off the field for the play — stormed up to head coach Andy Reid, bumped him and screamed at him.

This would have been a big deal in football circles regardless, given that Kelce and Reid are both sure-fire future Hall of Famers who have now won three Super Bowls together.

But the intrigue about what Kelce yelled at the coach was supersized given the tight end’s Q score ascendance from dating the world-renowned Taylor Swift.

However, “Inside the NFL,” the longtime weekly studio show that now airs on The CW and reveals what NFL players who are mic’d up say on the field, did not share the audio of the infamous dustup despite Kelce being mic’d up for the game.

Inside the NFL went from Patrick Mahomes mic’d up after the Pacheco fumble into video of Travis Kelce bumping and berating Andy Reid, but with audio of Tony Romo’s commentary. Here is why the audio got buried and could stay that way forever

Instead, “Inside the NFL” played the audio of CBS color commentator Tony Romo saying that Kelce told Reid to “keep me in” the game, and then cut to analysis from former players Channing Crowder, Chris Long and Ryan Clark.

Two people highly plugged into the sports media business told The Post they suspect the Chiefs blocked NFL Films — which captures the mic’d up audio — and “Inside the NFL” from airing the direct Kelce sound bite, with one saying he thought that this edict came from Reid.

A rep for “Inside the NFL” declined to comment, and reps for the Chiefs and NFL Media (which operates NFL Films) did not respond to requests for comment by The Post.

Though it seems strange from the outside that NFL Films would comply with this request — given the interest in it — about a half-dozen sources briefed on this story were unsurprised.

One source told The Post there are jokes among NFL Films crews that there is a vault that contains all the sensitive content from over the years that has never made it to TV.

In the case of Kelce, there would not necessarily be a large cohort of people privy to the audio, and knowledge of what was said could be constrained to a small circle of producers who are trained not to spread inflammatory material.

NFL Films is owned by the league, which itself is a collection of the 32 franchises, and there exists a clear understanding that the teams effectively have veto power over what makes it to air via the threat of restricting future access.

You could see this on display in 2019, when the Jets were livid at NFL Films that a clip of quarterback Sam Darnold saying he was “seeing ghosts” during a dismal performance against the Patriots made it to air during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”
Teams are also known to have final say over the content that makes it into HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”

Heart Defect Forces Him to Quit Football. After Surgery, He Returns to Field — and Meets Hero Jason Kelce (Exclusive)

Spencer Gilliam plays center for his team and wears number 62, just like Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce

Meeting Jason Kelce is a dream for so many fans — but for Spencer Gilliam, it represents a reality he almost didn’t get.

The 17-year-old athlete, who originally hails from Texas, made the journey to Orlando, Florida, recently to attend the Pro Bowl. Spencer, who plays center on his high school football team and wears a jersey with the number 62, was hoping to get to meet one of his heroes: Philadelphia Eagles center Kelce, who also wears number 62.

For Spencer, getting to do things like attend the Pro Bowl is extra special.

“When I was 15 weeks pregnant, my OB found a tumor a quarter of the size of his heart in his left ventricle,” Spencer’s mom Thea Gilliam tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The neonatal cardiologist told us when there are these tumors, the child has a 50 percent chance of having a disease called tuberous sclerosis. This means he could be born with tumors all over his major organs, including his brain, which could lead to severe mental and physical disabilities.”

When he was born a few months later, Spencer was taken to a neighboring children’s hospital. Although doctors discovered he didn’t have any other tumors, they found that he had a leaky, hardened heart valve. His tumor was taken out when he was 2 months old, with doctors telling his parents that they’d eventually need to replace his heart valve when it further deteriorated.

Despite his difficult start, Spencer’s health remained stable over the next few years. While his heart was being monitored, he was able to participate in team sports — and for him, football was everything.

“I started playing in fourth grade because my parents had gotten divorced when I was 7 and we were jumping around schools,” he tells PEOPLE. “I thought we had finally found a school that we were going to stick with. So I started playing football.”

Spencer was able to play until his sixth grade year, when his heart condition began to worsen.

It had gotten too bad when I hit sixth grade that they finally made me quit,” he remembers. “And I was really sad and depressed about it, so that’s when my mom started taking me to Cowboys games, Cowboys meet and greets, making sure I was happy.”

It was then, Thea says, that doctors informed Spencer and his parents that he would no longer be able to play sports. Additionally, in January 2021, doctors scheduled Spencer’s heart valve replacement.

“I was heartbroken,” Spencer remembers of being told he couldn’t play football anymore. “I thought I’d never be able to play again, and football was my dream.”

According to his mom, because of the severity and old scar tissue, the doctors had to open him up again and break his sternum to perform the surgery. “Poor guy couldn’t have any visitors except his parents due to COVID. [It was a] 9 hours surgery and he was able to get off narcotics the next day,” she tells PEOPLE.

After 45 days, doctors had amazing news for the athlete: they were clearing him to return to sports, first baseball and later football.

“I’m still playing to this day,” he proudly says. “I play center and I’m number 62, and we play about 10 games a season. I’m actually working on getting recruited right now to play college ball.”

Spencer sees his cardiologist every year right before summer workouts to monitor the valve integrity. But otherwise, he spends his summers attending college football camps in an effort to get recruited and has had unofficial invites during his junior year.

In addition to his job at Whataburger, the teenager makes money off TikTok by filming and posting videos of all things football. “He makes enough to pay for all his NFL games (even tickets for his closest teammates) and even going to Pro Bowl and training camps,” his mom shares.

This year, Spencer attended the Pro Bowl in Florida and had his sights set on meeting one of his biggest heroes: Kelce.

On Wednesday, the NFL stars and brothers discussed The Athletic’s story about their time as teammates and

roommates at the University of Cincinnati on their podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

“The amount of parties and fun we had,” Jason, 36, recalled. “Those were — I mean it doesn’t get that much better than the times we were in that household for sure.”

Jason and Travis, who entered college in 2006 and 2008, respectively, shared a house with their teammates as they attended classes and played for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
The pair went on to “confirm” their college stories, including one about Jason punching a hole in the wall of the house and accidentally ripping a sink out of his first college house during freshman year.

Travis also recalled when Jason “built a water bottle with Jameson” on St. Patrick’s Day and “drank it during spring practice.”

“Sure enough, we’re getting psyched out by Jason trying to come ‘hydrate’ us and giving us a bottle of Jameson,” Travis shared with a laugh.

They also chatted about the state of the house and how they had an outdoor garbage can in the middle of the living room stacked with pizza boxes, beer and leftovers with no lid that “stunk up the entire place.” Travis noted that “it was exactly what we needed because we were a bunch of filthy animals.”

“It was a filthy, but f—— fun house, man. Endless memories,” Travis added, before sharing that their teammate Evan Davis had to patch up “all the walls” and “redo” some floors, doors and windows by the time they left the house.

Travis then asked if there were any stories that hadn’t been shared in the article, to which Jason explained that there was one where a roommate decided to move their entire living room onto the front lawn of their college house.

Jason Kelce and his beloved Wife Share Excitement Over Pregnancy News: “We Couldn’t Keep It Hidden” Kylie, visibly glowing with anticipation, shared her thoughts on the upcoming arrival, ” I want our boy to grow up to be like his dad, I don’t mind him being a footballer”

“[They stay home] as long as Dad’s not playing,” Kylie told People magazine Thursday.

Wyatt, 4, and Ellie, 2, attended last year’s game when Jason played against Travis in an Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl, which ultimately went to Travis’ team. Kylie was pregnant with daughter Bennett, now 11 months, at the game.

“I think it’s a little bit controversial, but even during regular season games, I don’t take the girls to every game. They’re still very young,” Kylie, 31, explained.

“A stadium with thousands of people can be overwhelming, and there’s three of them. It can get hectic, it’s just a lot.”

Kylie admitted that traveling with three girls while Jason, 36, is “super busy” and leading them to a potentially “stressful environment” would not be “ideal.”

“The goal of the day is to just cheer on the Chiefs and make sure that we cheer hard enough that Uncle Trav can feel the energy,” she said, “and he can put that right onto the field.”

As Swift might say, you (and we) need to calm down So, Travis Kelce Replied To Fans Questions On Time For Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce only began dating in the summer but already speculation among fans over whether they’ll get engaged is reaching fever pitch.

The rumors reached their peak as Kelce prepared for the Kansas City Chiefs to take home the Super Bowl Ring– and some fans hoped the athlete would have a ring of his own for Swift following the win.

Swift is not the only celebrity to have faced excited fans looking for a wedding sooner than later. Swift and Kelce are both 34, and neither have been engaged or married yet. But fans have closely followed Swift’s relationships since she was a teenager and have been there for the dating and the breakups.

“The eternally optimist in me is saying that consumers idealize marriage and want the best for the celebrities,” said Kate Kurtin, a professor of communication studies at California State University in Los Angeles, via email. “The cynic in me is saying that consumers feel an entitlement to know details about celebrities’ lives and ‘get the scoop’ and see all the pictures and marriage is the next demand they are placing on Swift and Kelce.”

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is ready to cheer on Taylor Swift as her “Eras Tour” continues this year. His dad has even hinted at the places he might join her.

Taylor flew all the way from Tokyo, Japan, to see Travis and his team win the Super Bowl earlier this month. It was her 13th game watching him up close in the NFL season. Travis also flew to Buenos Aires, Argentina, during his bye week to watch her sing.

Now that the football season is over, Travis can join Taylor wherever she goes. His dad, Ed Kelce, thinks Travis might fly to Sydney and Singapore to see her perform.
