He may be almost 300 miles away, but Travis Kelce certainly liked what he saw of girlfriend Taylor Swift at the Grammys on Sunday night.

Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates have arrived in Las Vegas ahead of next weekend’s Super Bowl, where they will lock horns with the San Francisco 49ers in a bid to become the first back-to-back champions since 2005.

As the Chiefs tight end touched down in Sin City, Swift was over in Los Angeles at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony – where the pop sensation swept up two prizes on a historic evening.

 

Yet before she did so, Kelce was already in awe of his girlfriend as she made her entrance on the red carpet.

When American radio station NPR shared a photo on Instagram of Taylor in her stunning all-white Grammys dress, eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted that Travis was one of the thousands of users who had liked the post.

‘I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life,’ she said, ‘but I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I cracked the code to a bridge that I love, or when I am short-listing a music video, or when I am rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show.

‘For me, the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy. It makes me unbelievably blown away that it makes some people happy who voted for this award too.

‘All they want to do is keep doing this. So thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do what I% love so much! Mind blown! Thank you so much!’

During the ceremony, Swift was also seen sharing a warm moment with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft as she walked through Crypto.com arena.

The singer and songwriter is now set to head to Tokyo for the latest leg of her Eras Tour, before she is expected to make the trip to Vegas for the Super Bowl.

After winning last season’s showpiece, the Chiefs are now set to lock horns with NFC champions San Francisco at Super Bowl LVIII, where they will aim to keep their hands on the NFL’s big prize for at least another year.

And ahead of their quest for history, Kelce and his teammates made their grand arrivals in Vegas exactly one week before their battle with the Niners.

Swift has attended a number of her boyfriend’s Chiefs game since their romance began last summer, even making it onto the field after last weekend’s Conference Championship victory over the Ravens in Baltimore.

During halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs’ icy playoff win against the Miami Dolphins, she showed her heart of gold again, not knowing that someone was secretly recording her actions at Arrowhead Stadium.

During the break in the game, while her beau Travis Kelce got warm in the locker room, Taylor collected trash from around the VIP suite, occupied by herself, Brittany Mahomes, Mama Kelce and Chiefs friends and family.

Donna Kelce has had plenty of nice things to say about the Bad Blood singer after spending quality time together during and outside of NFL games. She told People that she was “totally enthralled” by the Taylor Swift: Eras Tour movie made by the “talented” Swift, and that their publc appearances together during Chiefs broadcasts have “amped up” her life.

“I can tell you this,” Kelce said of her son, Travis, in WSJ in November. “He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time…. God bless him, he shot for the stars!”

“It’s not lost on me that the two great catalysts for this happening were two horrendous things that happened to me,” Swift says about her current global domination. “The first was getting canceled within an inch of my life and sanity. The second was having my life’s work taken away from me by someone who hates me.”

Swift doesn’t mince words about her 2016-2017 scandal involving Kanye West and, later, his now-ex-wife Kim Kardashian over his song “Famous.” Although, her claims that she was “canceled” over the incident are a bit dubious, if not easily disputable.

“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” Swift tells Time. “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

Speaking of which, Swifties have been anticipating the re-recording of Swift’s most polarizing album Reputation, inspired by her fallout with Kim and Kanye. The singer has yet to announce a release date, but she promises the vault tracks will be “fire.”

“It’s a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure,” she says about the upcoming album. “I think a lot of people see it and they’re just like, ‘sick snakes and strobe lights.’”

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift reveals. “We started hanging out right after that. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”

She says she doesn’t control the amount of camera time she receives during games.
“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away,” the musician says. “And you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

“I’m just there to support Travis,” she continues. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

She isn’t stressed about all the attention she’s receiving.

“Over the years, I’ve learned I don’t have the time or bandwidth to get pressed about things that don’t matter,” she says. “Yes, if I go out to dinner, there’s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends.”

“Life is short,” she continues. “Have adventures. Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years—I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”

“She’s the most precious gem of a person—warm and open and funny,” Swift says about the 32-time Grammy winner. “And she’s such a great disrupter of music-industry norms. She taught every artist how to flip the table and challenge archaic business practices.”

The musicians lit up social media when they attended each other’s concert film premieres this year and posed for photos together. According to the profile, it seems like that supportive gesture may have come out of frustration.

“There were so many stadium tours this summer, but the only ones that were compared were me and Beyoncé,” she adds. “Clearly it’s very lucrative for the media and stan culture to pit two women against each other, even when those two artists in question refuse to participate in that discussion.”

On the NFC side, the Detroit Lions have been selected to head to the Super Bowl for the first time in team history.

The final score sees the Lions winning by a score of 35-31 in overtime (which doesn’t make much sense, because you can’t win by 4 in overtime).

The Lions won four NFL Championship Games between 1935 and 1957. Following the 1957 championship, the franchise did not win a playoff game until the 1991 season and did not win another until this past season.

They are the only franchise operational for the entirety of the Super Bowl era to not appear in the Super Bowl.

For the Detroit Lions, the last three years with Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell have seemed like a dream. As they enter Year 4, people are finally viewing them as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

The Bengals, meanwhile, are also looking for their first Super Bowl title. And, while the “script” predicts that Joe Burrow will get them close, it looks like their drought will continue for the foreseeable future.

The Grammys will kickstart a busy week for Taylor who’s also set to launch the 2024 leg of her Eras Tour in Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday.
