Patrick Mahomes II and his fiancée Brittany Matthews were all smiles as they kicked off their wedding weekend in Hawaii.

On Saturday, Brittany, 26, shared a slideshow of photos from the festivities, including one snap in which she and the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 26, were seen beaming as they posed with their one-year-old daughter Sterling Skye. Brittany captioned the carousel with a sparkle and flower emoji, with Patrick commenting, ‘My girls ❤️❤️❤️.’

Brittany was clad in a white tulle strapless minidress with white pointed-toe stiletto heels that were embellished with bows.

The blonde beauty wore her long locks down in waves as she held Sterling, who had on a white and gold Versace t-shirt and a colorful floral skirt. The family stood on a lawn in front of a tropical background surrounded by thatched huts and decorated with string lights, while guests mingled behind them.

Brittany also included another image of herself with Patrick as he wrapped his arm around her waist and a snap in which she was seen carrying Sterling across the lawn, with the NFL star walking by with a beer in the background.

In another snap, Patrick sported a beaded leaf necklace and pair of Louis Vuitton shades while holding Sterling, as the father and daughter gazed at each other. As the party carried on into the night, Brittany was seen rocking white Air Jordans while Patrick went barefoot as he gave her a hug from behind.

In the last photo, the couple looked exuberant as they danced on the lawn. Brittany also showcased the celebration in her Instagram Story. She posted a photo of a personalized Coors Light bottle that was decorated with a rendering of herself and Patrick.

The fitness trainer uploaded a snap of her mother Diana Massey in a blue t-shirt that read, ‘Mother of the Bride.’ Another little girl was seen holding Sterling as the children sat on the lawn in the next image. Patrick and Brittany were seen.

In Week 9 the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins travel to Germany for an AFC heavyweight matchup.

The Chiefs are coming off an upset loss to the Denver Broncos, which featured one of the worst offensive performances during quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ tenure.

Kansas City’s offense has not played at the level that we have been accustomed to over the past several years and it has become a legitimate concern for the team heading into the second half of the season.

After a flat performance in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago, the Dolphins bounced back with a dominant win over the New England Patriots last week. Miami’s offense has been on a historic pace this season, leading the NFL in passing, rushing, and points per game. The Dolphins are striving for their first AFC East division title since 2008.

Chiefs’ defense vs. Dolphins’ offense

Head coach Mike McDaniel and offensive coordinator Frank Smith run the Miami offense, with McDaniel calling the plays. McDaniel has quickly become regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the NFL. He earned his stripes under San Fransisco 49ers’ coach Kyle Shanahan, running a very similar system.

McDaniel runs a 21-personnel base offense (two running backs, one tight end, and two receivers) which forces the defense to stay in its base formation more often. He brought Shanahan’s famous outside zone running scheme over to Miami with him, and he runs it just as effectively.

Outside zone running is when the offensive linemen pull toward the sideline, blocking whoever is in their zone rather than a certain man. Running backs typically have three options — bounce outside, cut up field between the linemen, or cut back across the formation. It can often be boom-or-bust, getting stuffed for little or no gain or yielding big chunks of yardage.

Raheem Mostert leads the way out of the Miami backfield. He ranks sixth in the NFL in rushing yards, first in rushing touchdowns, and is averaging a staggering 5.4 yards per carry. Mostert is a speedster with excellent vision and the Chiefs’ defenders will have to take good angles when chasing him down.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa thrives off the running game with play-action. The Dolphins’ passing game is fairly West Coast-oriented with Tagovailoa getting the ball out of his hands quickly with short, horizontal passes to receivers in space. Receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle utilize their speed to get open quickly and are both downfield burners.

Chiefs’ defenders will need to know of Hill’s whereabouts all game long. He has the second most receptions of 20 or more yards in the league and is on pace to break the single-season receiving yards records. Like with Mostert, Chiefs’ defenders will have to take good angles with Hill and tackle fundamentally.

A two-deep safety or quarters (four deep defensive backs) coverage could be necessary to prevent Hill, or Waddle for that matter, from taking the top off of the defense. That will force Tagovailoa to be patient and check down or work the middle of the field.

Chiefs’ offense vs. Dolphins’ defense

Longtime NFL coach Vic Fangio serves as Miami’s defensive coordinator. Chiefs fans remember Fangio from his time as the Broncos’ head coach from 2019-2021. He runs a base 3-4 scheme with heavy zone coverages in the secondary. Fangio is not a heavy blitzer, only bringing five or more rushers about 24 percent of the time.

There’s really no need for Fangio to blitz heavily since the Dolphins rank third in the league in sacks with 27. Outside linebacker Bradley Chubb leads the way with five sacks, with four of them coming in his last three games. Christian Wilkins is a force in the middle of the defensive line against the run and pass.

Statistically, the Dolphins are about as middle of the pack as you can get, ranking 17th against the run, 16th against the pass, and 15th in total yards. One area of concern is that they are giving up 25.5 points per game, the eighth most in the NFL. A lot of that can be attributed to their poor performance in the red zone as they are allowing the fifth most touchdowns in that area.

The K.C. offense has struggled in the red zone, so it will be interesting to see which unit steps up. Getting playmakers in space and utilizing each player’s strengths is something that the Chiefs’ offensive coaching staff needs to get back to doing. Creating one-on-one situations for players such as Rashee Rice and Kadarius Toney could provide a spark.

Before his injury last season, Mecole Hardman was lethal on end-arounds and quick passes near the line of scrimmage. For some reason, he has not been utilized that since returning to K.C. Lastly, the screen game is always a viable option for the Chiefs with either Isiah Pacheco or Jerick McKinnon.

The commitment goes even further, as the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, founded by Patrick Mahomes, will donate $1,500 for each touchdownMahomes scores during the regular season.

This pledge is poised to make a significant impact with Mahomes already throwing eight touchdowns this season and a history of consistently surpassing the 30-touchdown mark.

Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing their dedication to uplifting others. “This meaningful partnership will expand opportunities for kids everywhere, and the places that have positively impacted Patrick and me,” she stated.

Patrick Mahomes, while speaking to the media before practice on Wednesday, shared his personal connection to the Boys & Girls Clubs and why this partnership holds immense significance.

“The partnership with Boys & Girls Club, it’s something where I remember practicing basketball at Boys & Girls Clubs growing up and how fun that was,” Mahomes said. “It was a great experience. I got to meet people and (had) opportunities to play sports that I loved. I thought it was a great idea to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs . . . all the areas that I grew up in and give those same opportunities to kids. I thought it fit perfectly with my 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.”

As the Mahomes’ continue to positively impact their local community and beyond, this commitment reinforces their dedication to creating a brighter future for the younger generation.

With Patrick Mahomes consistently surpassing 38 touchdowns in the NFL regular season, the total donation from his touchdowns at the end of the year is projected to reach approximately $60,000 dollars.

Patrick Mahomes has expressed pride in his Black heritage in response to people online who label him “not full Black.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star shared his perspective in an interview with Clay Skipper of GQ:

“I’ve seen how people, on Twitter, have tweeted and said, ‘Oh, you’re not full Black.’ But I’ve always just had the confidence and believed in who I am. And I’ve known that I’m Black. And I’m proud to be Black.

And I’m proud to have a white mom too. I’m just proud of who I am. And I’ve always had that confidence in myself.”

He also acknowledged his privilege being the son of former major league pitcher Pat Mahomes.

“The more I mature, I’ve learned that I was blessed to be in the situation that I was in,” the younger Mahomes added.

The 24-year-old, who already has an MVP award, a Super Bowl title and Super Bowl MVP on his resume, has used his platform to speak out against racial injustice in recent months following the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, in Minneapolis police custody.

He also took part in a video calling on the NFL to make a strong statement against racism alongside fellow stars like Deshaun Watson and Ezekiel Elliott:

Mahomes’ interview came on the heels of landing a 10-year contract extension with the Chiefs worth up to $503 million, the largest contract in NFL history.

Travis Kelce “calmly” told his Kansas City Chiefs teammates that Taylor Swift would be at their Sunday, September 24, game against the Chicago Bears.

However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t know if he could believe the news.

“He told me at, like, the last minute. There are some things with Trav where he, kind of, just says it and you don’t know if it’s true or not,” Mahomes, 28, shared during a post-game press conference.

“Friday, he was just like, ‘Ah, yeah, I think she’s coming to the game … this weekend’ and moved about his business. … That’s just Travis.”

Swift, 33, made headlines on Sunday when she attended the Chiefs game in Travis’ suite alongside his mom, Donna Kelce. Swift and Travis were also spotted leaving Arrowhead Stadium together following the game further fueling romance rumors.

Mahomes didn’t get a chance to meet the “tremendous” songstress while she was in Missouri.

“I guess if she ends up being with Travis, I’ll meet her at some point,” Mahomes shared during the press conference. “Seems like a good person, so hopefully, I can meet her one day.”

After the Chiefs beat the Bears 43 to 10 on Sunday, Mahomes gushed over his teammate’s possible new romance in various interviews. While on the field with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews, Mahomes joked that he felt “pressure” with Swift in the stadium but made it his mission to get Travis the ball. (The tight end scored during the third quarter.)

“I knew I had to get it to Trav,” he shared. “He does his own thing and just makes up a route and I throw it to him. I think he wanted to get in the end zone as much as all the Swifties wanted him to.”

Travis first planted the seed of a possible romance with Swift after attending her Eras Tour concert in July, and dropping a hint about giving her his phone number on a friendship bracelet.

“Well, I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis said on his “New Heights” podcast — which he hosts alongside brother Jason Kelce — at the time. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Various outlets were quick to report that Travis had connected with Swift after the comments went viral. Not to mention, Jason continued to add fuel to the fire.

“It is hard to answer because I don’t really know a lot about what is happening in Travis’ love life. I try to, like, keep his business [as] his business and straight out of that world,” the Philadelphia Eagles player shared during a radio show appearance on September 20. “Having said that. … I think it is 100 percent true.”

Travis, for his part, made a public plea to “stop asking my brother” about the Swift rumors while appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show” on September 21. (During the same interview, he publicly invited Swift to see him “rock the stage” at the stadium.)

“No one actually knows what’s going on, especially when you got Jason Kelce on live television telling people both sides — [saying] he doesn’t know, it’s true, this and that,” Travis joked. “The guy is absolutely ridiculous.”

Being an eclectic chap, Cockburn has sampled his fair share of music.

And he’s not ashamed to admit, contrary to Al Michaels’s suggestion that Taylor Swift only appeals to teenage girls, that he considers himself a “Swiftie” — not least of all because Swift makes repeated reference to one of his favorite activities: drinking alcohol.

Swift just released her new album, Midnights, along with an official music video to accompany her catchy and oh-so-clever song, Anti-Hero.

The video tells you all you need to know about Swift’s preferred method for dealing with her problems.

Though she never mentions booze by name, she appears in the video taking shots and desperately shaking the last drop from a bottle of wine directly into her mouth.

If Al Michaels thinks such twenty-one-plus imagery and metaphors are for “teenage girls,” he obviously hasn’t listened to much beyond Swift’s 2014 album, 1989. In studying her catalog — casually, of course, and not at all because Swift is his go-to Spotify station — Cockburn noticed that alcohol started to become a recurring theme in her music with the release of her record Reputation. This also came shortly after Swift met her now-longtime English boyfriend Joe Alwyn, and, boy, do those Brits know how to drink.

If Cockburn had to guess, he would say Swift developed a liking for the strong stuff after she swam “in a Champagne sea” in 2017. This is the same year she admitted to spilling wine in a bathtub while drunk and drinking beer out of plastic cups. She once drank old-fashioneds and focused on drinking while her love interest at the time was more focused on thinking.

Later on in the same album, she met a new love interest in a bar, asked a former love interest to make her a drink, got drunk and made fun of the way Alwyn, presumably, talked and compared one of her boyfriend’s eyes to liquor. She also professes a fondness for Tennessee whiskey and informs us she can be found in a pub.

It was in 2020, however, that Swift really seems to have found refuge in the bottle. It was during Covid, when everyone was drinking more than we should.

On her albums evermore and Folklore, Swift refers to her “spite and my tears and my beers and my candles,” “sitting in an airport bar,” “champagne problems,” “that dive bar,” “getting wasted,” being drunk under a streetlight and kissing in downtown bars, being drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar, getting drunk “but it’s not enough,” and drunk crying in the back of the car coming from the bar.

Cockburn senses Swift is something of a wino, making reference in other songs to “a glass of wine,” “cheap wine,” “rosé flowing,” “cheap-ass screw-top rosé,” “merlot on his mouth,” “priceless wine,” “a bottle of wine,” “the wine,” “my husband’s wine,” “a wine-stained dress,” and “cold wine.”

In Midnights, the drinking continues, with songs about “liquor in our cocktails,” “one drink after another,” and “my fourth drink in my hand.”

This latest offering is Swift all over — sentimental, inventive, memorable, and, as Cockburn’s colleague Alexander Larman labels it, “a bright spot in a bland music industry.” There’s something more brooding, introspective, and self-deprecating about Swift’s lyrics this time around, though, with the songstress admitting to “falling apart” and reflecting on the stress of fame’s constant scrutiny.

Alcohol is a well-known recourse for creative types, and though Cockburn doesn’t encourage it as a solution to life’s challenges, he can hardly blame Swift if she is wont to overindulge now and then.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes briefly addressed the death of his wife stepfather, who collapsed on his way to a Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium and later died in the hospital.

“I didn’t know about it until after the game,” Mahomes told reporters. “Coach [Andy] Reid actually told me in the tunnel after the game and it was shocking.

“He was a great man and he was a great stepdad for Brittany [Matthews].

“She’s back home now with her mom and her family. I’m still sending my prayers to them and I’ll be here during the week. Hopefully I’ll be able to see them over Thanksgiving break.”

Mahomes did not do his customary postgame presser in lieu of going to the hospital on Sunday.
