It looks like Selena Gomez isn’t too pleased with The Weeknd.

Selena Gomez is convinced that her ex-boyfriend The Weeknd is using her “real-life pain for entertainment” in his controversial HBO show “The Idol.”

A source close to Selena recently shared that she is bothered by the eerie comparisons that can seemingly be drawn between her life and that of Lily-Rose Depp’s character Jocelyn.

The insider shared,

“The similarities between Selena’s life and Jocelyn’s life are just uncanny. Being [that] she actually dated The Weeknd, it is even more creepy for her. Her real-life pain was used for entertainment value and that really irks her out.”
They continued,
“Everyone in her team who has known her for a very long time is dumbfounded by this, but at the end of the day Selena is going to do what she always does – rise above and move on.”

“The Idol” focuses on an aspiring pop star named Jocelyn and her complex relationship with Tedros, a self-help guru and cult leader, played by The Weeknd.

Apparently, there are some glaring similarities between Selena and the character Jocelyn. For starters, the show centers around Jocelyn’s personal struggles and mental breakdown that she faces, which is similar to Selena Gomez and the mental health struggles she previously dealt with.

Another similarity, both Selena and Jocelyn rose to the top of their singing career as childhood actors. Selena and the fictional character also have similar mannerisms, one of them being blowing kisses, which Selena has been photographed doing dozens of times throughout her career.

While some would say those are subtle comparisons, there are also some eerie similarities between the two.

In 2015, Selena faced backlash after she decided to go topless for the cover of her album “Revival.” When asked about it in a radio interview, she said,

“I am not going to let them get to me.”

In the show’s premiere episode, Jocelyn also did a topless album cover and told her management team that,

“It’s my body.”

In 2016, Selena Gomez suffered a mental breakdown after being diagnosed with Lupus and canceled the last few shows of her “Revival Tour” to enter a psychiatric facility. Coincidentally, Jocelyn also experienced a mental breakdown and was forced to cancel her tour following her mother’s death.

The most alarming parallel occurred after both women were released from treatment.

Following her release from treatment, Selena’s first gig was a video shoot for her hit song, “Bad Liar.” She was told to keep her hospital bracelet on for the video. Jocelyn was also told to keep her hospital bracelet on for a photo shoot following treatment to be more “relatable” to fans.

The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) and Selena Gomez dated for 10 months back in 2017. Throughout their relationship, Selena maintained a low profile as she was dealing with her health and other personal issues.

The Weeknd not only stars in the HBO series, but he also created the show along with “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, and Reza Fahim.

The Rare Beauty founder has revealed that her choice to leave the social media site coincided with her official split from Justin Bieber in 2018. The pair called it quits in the spring of that year, marking the end of an eight-year on-and-off relationship.

Justin Bieber‘s relationship with Hailey Baldwin, the daughter of Stephen Baldwin, was announced shortly after, and things moved quickly for the two. After a month, they were engaged and in September 2018, married.

Selena Gomez said,
“I had just gotten my heart broken. I didn’t need to see what everyone was doing.”
She added,
“Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. Wow, I wish my body looked like that.”

The Wizards of Waverly Place star discussed how it was challenging to deal with physical changes as she grew out of her “teenage body.” She added,
“None of the sample sizes fit, and I would feel ashamed about that. But how irrational is it to think a normal woman’s body won’t change?”
Selena Gomez — who has been romantically linked to Zedd, Charlie Puth and The Weeknd in the years after — was also dealing with the effects of having bipolar disorder in the same year she and Justin Bieber split. In 2020, she disclosed her mental illness during Miley Cyrus‘ Instagram live show Bright Minded.

Gomez said,
“I grew up being a people pleaser. I had a responsibility at a very young age – young people were looking up to me. I didn’t know who I was. Having that responsibility would make me walk on eggshells a lot.”

She added,
“I thought maybe it would be damaging to tell people who I am. It started to become a threat that freaked me out. Well, if you’re not right, then you can’t work.”
As previously reported, the Only Murders in the Building star shared earlier this year that she took an IG break because she was frustrated with receiving hurtful comments comparing her to an ex-boyfriend’s current partner, presumably Hailey Baldwin.

Gomez explained,
“I never got the chance to go to an actual high school. The world was my high school for the longest time, and I started getting inundated with information that I didn’t want. I went through a hard time in a breakup and I didn’t want to see any of the [feedback]—not necessarily about the relationship, but the opinions of me versus [someone] else.”

She continued,

“People can call me ugly or stupid and I’m like, Whatever. But these people get detailed. They write paragraphs that are so specific and mean. I would constantly be crying. I constantly had anxiety…I couldn’t do it anymore. It was a waste of my time.”
At the time, Gomez revealed that TikTok was the only social media platform that she had on her phone, saying she found it to be less hostile. She added,
“There are wonderful things about social media—connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are and their stories. But usually that’s filtered through [for me now]. I created a system. Taylor Swift has joined the “Chiefs Kingdom” and been welcomed by the team throughout her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce, according to Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

“We made a few jokes at first, but she’s now a member of Chiefs Kingdom. “She’s on the team,” Mahomes told Nate Burleson on “CBS Mornings.”

“It’s great that she has accepted Brittany (Mahomes’ wife), and they’ve formed a bond as well. For me, it’s just Travis. He’s fortunate to be with a great girl and a great woman.”

The public reveal of Swift and Kelce’s connection became one of the year’s most memorable pop culture moments, attracting the attention of both NFL fans and Swifties.

Kelce bought the swanky new property for better privacy while dating Taylor Swift, according to TMZ. As public fascination with the new couple continues to grow, it’s no surprise that the athlete is serious about protecting their relationship by investing in a paparazzi-free hideaway. (Given Kelce’s Kansas City-based career, the lovebirds can’t exactly shack up in one of Taylor’s many properties—plus, she’s already lent her Watch Hill, Rhode Island home to another publicity-shy new couple, Bradly Cooper and Gigi Hadid.)

Sources told TMZ that Kelce’s existing house was “simply far too accessible” and “starting to become a tourist attraction.” It’s easy for paparazzi to park right outside of the place, and the situation was reportedly making Kelce uncomfortable. Understandable!

According to the New York Post, Kelce was also “a little self-conscious with his pretty modest pad and wanted something a bit more grandeur to impress his new love interest.” (As Taylor herself might say, we know that it’s delicate.)

His new home reportedly boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms, spanning thousands of square footage. While it’s unclear what neighborhood the home is located in (and that’s probably for the best!), the property exists in a gated community with a host of amenities including a pool with a waterfall, a tennis court, a pickleball court, and a mini golf course, per TMZ.

There are no reports yet on Kelce’s plans for his other Kansas City home. Located in the Briarcliff West neighborhood, that residence cost him $995,000 in 2019. Perhaps we’ll see it on the market soon! In any case, his new home purchase barely compares to Swift’s $150 million real estate portfolio. But it’s a good start! And, who knows, maybe the kickoff of a new era?

After making it through his NFL career without putting a hand on Chuck Noll, Terry Bradshaw seemed surprised by Travis Kelce’s altercation with Andy Reid.

It’s been a minute since NFL fans heard from Bradshaw.

With CBS hosting Super Bowl LVIII and Bradshaw missing Fox’s NFC Championship coverage due to an illness, there was plenty for the Hall of Fame quarterback to catch up on during his Thursday afternoon appearance on The Rich Eisen Show.

Near the start of the interview, Eisen asked Bradshaw about Kelce bumping Reid on the sideline during the Kansas City Chiefs 25-22 Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

“I felt bad for Andy because Andy had had hip surgery,” Bradshaw admitted to Eisen. “He had his game plan in his hand. And when Kelce went over, Kelce didn’t push him, Kelce went over and he accidentally bumped him, I don’t think he pushed him or anything. It was an accident, but it looked bad on television.”

It certainly would have been something if Reid toppled over and his play sheet went flying onto the field. I’m also not sure whether Reid’s recent hip surgery was as widely known as Bradshaw made it seem.

As Reid laughed off the altercation after the game, the 65-year-old NFL head coach did joke that the bump from Kelce “tested that hip out.” So he probably doesn’t mind Bradshaw referencing his surgery. Bradshaw added that he texted Reid after the game and was surprised to immediately get a response from the Chiefs head coach amid all the pomp and circumstance that comes with winning the Super Bowl.

After all, they did. The Kelce brothers’ weekly show, New Heights, was voted Podcast of the Year in the 2024 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards.

“Get the f–k out of here,” Travis told Jason in a video shared to the New Heights Instagram account March 11. “People actually listen to this?”

And while the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center were unable to attend the March 11 event held at the SXSW Conference and Festivals in Austin, Texas, they did send love to the fans who helped them win the award.

“This is an incredible honor especially for two jabronies like us,” Jason continued. “We’d be remiss if we didn’t thank all of the 92 percenters out there, a.k.a Swifties, who voted for us to win this award.”

And Travis, whose relationship with Taylor Swift helped New Heights gain a much bigger audience, clearly shares the “Karma” singer’s respect for his newfound—and highly dedicated—fanbase.

“Podcast of the year is big s–t,” he added. “We truly have the best fanbase in the entire world, thank you for voting every single day of every single month—and every hour of that day.”

In addition to shouting out their strategic campaigners, Jason—who shares daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 12 months, with wife Kylie Kelce—touched on why the podcast has endured since its September 2022 debut.

“We absolutely love making this podcast each and every week,” he explained. “It is beyond rewarding when we find out that it resonates with so many people out there and that they get joy out of it because we put a lot of that into it.”

While New Heights mostly details the Kelce brothers’ life as NFL players, it has also provided adorable insight on Taylor and Travis’ relationship. In fact, a comment Travis made during a July 2023 episode played a monumental role in bringing football player and Grammy winner together.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Taylor told TIME in December. “We started hanging out right after that.”

As for the exact comment that made Taylor enchanted enough to meet Travis? At the time, the tight end was, of course, detailing his trip to the Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium, and his missed opportunity to give her a friendship bracelet.

Travis Kelce pushed through his post-Oscars hangover to head out for lunch with some friends in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon.

The NFL superstar reportedly spent Sunday night at Gucci’s Oscars after-party alongside his girlfriend Taylor Swift, with the pair enjoying a whirlwind few days having flown back from her Eras Tour in Singapore.

Taylor was nowhere to be seen on Monday, though, as Kelce donned his dark glasses and opted for a casual look as he joined some pals at Cecconi’s.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end wore a cream cardigan, white t-shirt and green trousers for the chilled lunch date, before driving away in his Range Rover.

The predominantly male group was also joined by a mystery blonde woman as they left the lunch spot in California.

It is understood Kelce and Swift did not attend the actual Oscars ceremony at the Dolby Theater, instead opting to keep a low profile and instead head to an afterparty.

People report that the couple jetted back from Singapore just in time to enjoy the festivities, with Taylor now set to enjoy a two-month break before she undergoes the mammoth European leg of the tour.

They headed to Gucci’s ‘The Party’ on Sunday night, which was held at talent manager Guy Oseary’s Los Angeles home.

It was reported that among the fellow attendees were Best Actor winner Cillian Murphy, Billie Eilish, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and more.

Kelce is still reveling in the success of his own season, having won the Super Bowl in Las Vegas last month.

In the wake of the busy season, he has been to three Eras Tour shows, one in Melbourne, and then the fifth and sixth nights in Singapore.

Just hours after Kelce was spotted out for lunch in LA, he and brother Jason scooped the Podcast of the Year award at the iHeart Radio awards.

Despite not being in Austin, Texas to personally pick up the trophy, the NFL brothers recorded a message for the audience.

In it, Travis joked: ‘Get the f*** outta here… people actually listen to this?’

Jason then went on to thank Taylor Swift’s fans for voting for them to win.

Beginning their acceptance speech, Jason said: ‘Right now, we are actually talking to the entire iHeart Radio Awards audience,’ before Travis added: ‘Oh s***, well we wish we could be there guys, but we are honored to accept this award.’

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end then added: ‘Podcast of the Year is big s***,’ before Jason continued: ‘It’s an incredible honor, especially for two jabronis like us.

‘To receive an award like this is beyond humbling, and we would be remiss if we didn’t immediately thank all the 92 percenters, AKA Swifties, for voting for us.’

Earlier in the night, the Kelce brothers had also won Best Overall Ensemble, but had missed out on Best Sports Podcast to Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay.

Jason Kelce expresses retirement regret after Eagles get Saquon Barkley: ‘I want to be a part of this so bad’

Jason Kelce hasn’t lasted one month retired without having some regret following the Philadelphia Eagles’ strong free agency moves this offseason, specifically with the agreed-upon deal for Saquon Barkley.

On the latest episode of Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the now-former Eagles center admitted he’s had some conflicting thoughts after GM Howie Roseman agreed to a deal with Barkley – three years worth a maximum $46.76 million.

Saquon Barkley signing with Philadelphia. How ‘bout this? Huge, huge signing for Philadelphia. And I’m happy for Saquon. I’m not trying to talk trash, but you’re coming to a team that’s had a legitimate offensive line established for a very long time.”

Kelce also pointed out how run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland, the longest-tenured Eagles coach, will certainly help get Barkley acclimated to his new squad quickly.

But, as Travis commented about how many players on the offensive side of the ball are Pro Bowlers, which should give the Eagles another great chance at making a Super Bowl run, Jason couldn’t contain his thoughts.

“I could not be more bullish,” he said. “We talked about it last week – this is what I’m regretting. I knew when I retired that I was going to miss just an outstanding season for the Philadelphia Eagles. It sucks, it really does. I want to be a part of this so bad. I wish I could.”

Eagles fans have been all over social media following Barkley’s signing, hitting up Kelce to get back in the building and go at least one more year.

“Social media has been nonstop like, ‘Jason, you sure you want to retire?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, pretty positive.’ Even though little upset Howie [Roseman] waited until I retired to make a move like this! But it’s fine. It’ll work out great,” he said.
