In particular, they were discussing whether the Non-Disclosure Agreements that the accusers, once very close to the rapper, signed, can protect the star.

The short answer is no.

Can NDAs Protect Diddy?

Legal experts assert that any possible nondisclosure agreements between Sean “Diddy” Combs and his accusers existing will be of no help.

The agreements between the rapper and anyone in his circle who might have seen alleged wrongdoing, would not bar the latter from talking to federal agents.

They can certainly drop details to the officers who are interested in the hip-hop mogul in a sex-trafficking probe.

“They aren’t bound by anything, so they can sing like a canary,” said David Gelman, a New Jersey-based defense attorney and former prosecutor.

“They can speak because NDAs don’t cover illegal activities,” the attorney added.

Diddy’s Trafficking Probe 2024

Federal investigators have acknowledged that search warrants executed on Combs’s mansions in Los Angeles and Miami were part of a sex-trafficking investigation.

Combs, the multimillionaire creator of the Sean John fashion brand and Bad Boy Records, is the subject of multiple court cases alleging sex assault, trafficking, and physical abuse.

Derrick Parker, New York City’s “hip-hop cop,” stated that allegations from the settled lawsuit against Combs filed by his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, may be the subject of the investigation.

After a 1999 nightclub shooting left three people injured, Parker, who published the book “Notorious C.O.P.” on his experiences in the NYPD’s rap-related intelligence unit, played a significant part in the Combs probe.

Combs, formerly known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy and a host of other names, has undergone a myriad of reinventions since the start of his career – but has since entered a new and unwelcome “era.”

Federal agents with US Homeland Security raided two of the rapper’s houses in Los Angeles and Miami on 25 March as he faces a string of varying accusations.

Combs, 54, has strongly denied all of the allegations against him.

His attorneys have branded the lawsuits and their accusations as money grabs, “baseless” or “sickening.”

The entertainer has not been formally charged or accused by federal prosecutors of any crime.

But since then, sometimes new and sometimes resurfaced allegations will arise, which puts his name further down the rabbit hole.

It remains to be seen where and when this probe will eventually end.

Legal experts weighed in after the Department of Homeland Security launched raids into Diddy’s sprawling properties on March 25 amid s– trafficking probe. The HIS said the department received assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners in performing the searches.

Litigation partner Priya Sopori noted that the embattled rap mogul’s mansions “could be included or referenced in the indictment as a means that served the ends of those alleged crimes.” Thus, he could lose them when the government decided to seize them.

“In other words, if we were talking about charges that involved s– trafficking, the government would likely ask, ‘Were these properties used to introduce victims of s– trafficking to potential abusers and s– offenders?’” Sopori told Fox News Digital. “Were these properties an effective co-conspirator in these alleged crimes – allowing and facilitating Mr. Combs’ alleged engagement in illegal activities?”

The expert added, “If so, and if Mr. Combs were to be found guilty of those alleged crimes, then the properties themselves could be seized by the government.”

Meanwhile, another legal expert shared a similar sentiment but reckoned how difficult it would be to prove the homes were connected to Diddy’s criminal activities.

According to former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani, the rapper has legitimate businesses that might not be affected by his current legal headaches.

After the raids, Diddy lost more than 21,000 followers but still has a 20 million followers count on Instagram.

Mother of Diddy’s Son Wants To Investigate the Raids

In an Instagram post, Justin Combs’ mother, Misa Hylton, unveiled surveillance footage showing how the federal agents searched the Los Angeles home where her son and Kim Porter’s child, Christian, were staying.

She alleged their children went through deplorable treatment from the feds during the search.

 

“Enough is Enough! Did Justin need several laser beams from firearms pointed at his chest?? Did Christian need a gun pointed at the back of his head while he was handcuffed?? How many times have we seen young UNARMED BLACK MEN not make it out of these types of situations alive??” Hylton went on.

Justin’s attorney – Jeffrey Lichtman – reportedly began investigating the alleged “excessive use of force.”

Some of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children hired a famed attorney to launch an investigation into the federal agents’ alleged “excessive use of force” during and after the raids.

Reports confirmed that Diddy’s sons, Justin and Christian, were among the people who were cuffed when the Department of Homeland Security raided his Los Angeles home. While they were not arrested, they reportedly suffered because of the feds’ alleged treatment of them.

On Instagram, newly hired attorney Jeffrey Lichtman took to Instagram to promote his podcast, “Beyond the Legal Limit With Jeffrey Lichtman,” while speaking about representing Diddy’s son.

“I also give my thoughts on the over the top searches of Sean Combs’ two homes and reveal that I’ve been hired to represent P. Diddy’s son. The government rarely fights fair when they have a major target in its sights and they certainly haven’t played fair in Diddy’s case thus far,” he captioned the post.

Justin’s mother, Misa Hylton, uploaded additional footage of the raid and announced their legal move, writing, “The over zealous and overtly militarized force used against my sons Justin and Christian [King] is deplorable. If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression.”

 

 

Lichtman notably represented El Chapo and John Gotti Jr. He secured a dismissal of three charges when Ek Chapo was found guilty of 10 counts of crimes in February 2019.

The lawyer previously represented celebrities, including Fat Joe, Kay Flock and The Game.

Hiring Lichtman was reportedly part of the family’s investigation into the federal agents’ alleged treatment, which Diddy’s attorney Aaron Dyer called “a gross use of military-level force.”

The attorney also liked Hylton’s video to confirm the development.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Allegations Explored

Diddy has been slapped with several civil lawsuits as his accusers alleged he trafficked, sexually abused and raped them.

He denied all the claims, branding the lawsuits as “baseless” and “sickening.”

One of his accusers, Casandra Ventura, sued him in November 2023 and accused him of raping her, beating her and forcing her to have “unwanted sexual encounters with male s– workers.”
