During Kate and William’s 2012 royal tour of East Asia and the Pacific in celebration of the late Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Princess of Wales gave royal fans a very rare glimpse of her natural curls.

On day seven of their tour, September 17, Kate, then-Duchess of Cambridge and William visited Tuvanipupu Island in the Solomon Islands.

A screenshot with a fake statement attributed to the Buckingham Palace was shared as proof. The file was closely modelled on the palace’s announcement of late Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

There were also speculations on the social media platform X, including mentions of flags at half-mast in government buildings, circulating and fuelling the rumours before the fake news went viral.

Disinformation travelled quickly, reaching other countries even though there was no official confirmation or announcement from the Royal Family.

After it was reposted in Ukraine, the British Embassy published a statement denying the fake news. “We would like to inform you that the news about the death of King Charles III is fake.” The same situation occurred in Azerbaijan.

Conspiracy theories about the Royal Family have been spreading recently due to the absence of its members from the public because of health issue.

The Vulture traced the origin of the fake news to the post on a Pakistani outlet from 16 March, it was picked up by X accounts regularly sharing conspiracy theories.

Meghan Markle made the decision to cut ties with Britain due to a “huge rift” between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, a royal commentator believes.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, did not travel with her husband Prince Harry when he visited the UK earlier this month to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The youngest son of the King made a speech at St Paul’s Cathedral to hail the achievements of the competition he started for wounded servicemen and women when he was a working royal in 2014.

But none of the Royal Family attended the event, with relations reportedly strained between Prince Harry and King Charles and Prince William following the publication of his tell-all memoirs and appearance in a Netflix documentary.

Meghan Markle also did not fly to the UK with her husband, and royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that the mum-of-two chose to stay away due to her poor approval rating in the country and the “rift” between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.

Despite not making an appearance with Harry, his wife did fly to Heathrow to make a transfer onto a jet bound for the Nigeria where the couple enjoyed a successful royal-like tour.

Mr Fitzwilliams added: “I think they will be very satisfied with it because it was a private visit that had all the trappings of a royal visit.

“So in reality, people conflated the two, and it had enormous press coverage. They had huge international coverage so what this gives them is an opportunity to build the value of their brand internationally by doing this again.

“Now that they have beefed up their communication team, I would expect them to do this again. This puts them much more into the A-lister bracket. What they had done before was not that much or that impressive.”

Inheriting the $1 billion Duchy of Cornwall estate and the title of Duke of Cornwall following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, William continues the historical tradition of the Duchy providing income (estimated at $30 million) to support the heir to the British throne and his family.

The Duchy of Cornwall is a large estate owned by the Prince of Wales, which includes land, farms, houses, and other assets. It generates income that supports the Prince of Wales, his family, and his charitable activities.

During his visit, Prince William will meet with Duchy representatives overseeing the project’s development, interact with St Petrocs CEO Henry Meacock, and engage with a resident benefiting from the program’s support.

Homewards will evaluate the project’s impact and share insights with similar initiatives nationwide, highlighting Prince William’s commitment to innovative solutions and community welfare.

Additionally, William will spend time at Fistral Beach, learning from local organizations working to maintain beach safety for all visitors.

On Friday, the prince will head to the Isles of Scilly.
