The Sussexes are “unfazed” by anger from the Palace over their recent royal-style Nigeria tour, and Meghan is eyeing up a slew of further high-profile visits, an insider claims.

Meghan Markle is “unfazed” by pushback over her recent Nigeria tour with Prince Harry and is “drawing up a new plan of attack” for further overseas trips, a source claims.

The Sussexes visited the country last month at the invitation of the country’s Chief of Defence, taking part in cultural activities and meeting with service members.

Insiders claimed King Charles was “angrier than anyone has ever seen him” over the royal-style visit, but a source has told Closer the Duchess of Sussex is orchestrating a plan that will see them established in further Commonwealth nations.

“Meghan and Harry aren’t surprised that the royals have found fault with their tour of Nigeria, they’re disappointed for sure, but not surprised,” the insider told the outlet.

“And they’re certainly not going to let their negativity stop them from arranging more tours.

“As far as they’re concerned, things in Nigeria couldn’t have gone better and it’s really got them excited about all the possibilities.

“Meghan’s now drawing up a new plan of attack, basically a blueprint of how to put together more tours in the most streamlined and effective way possible.”

They added that the duchess has “tasked members of her team with submitting ideas on the best places to visit, who they need to reach out to as far as dignitaries and charities as well as what media to recruit for the visits.”

The purported world tour plan could tie in with their Archewell Foundation, which has a mission statement to uplift and unite local and global communities.

“Their conscience is completely clear on this plan because they intend to do good wherever they go,” the source said.

According to the insider, the pair “don’t plan to limit themselves to the Commonwealth, they want to make this bigger and better than what the royals have done in the past. They’re totally unfazed by any problems this might create with the royals.”

The duke and duchess stepped down as senior royals in January 2020 and announced they would be splitting their time between the UK and North America, promising to “honour our duty to the Queen [Elizabeth II], the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”

They said at the time the “geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”

Prince William was also said to have been angered by the recent trip, but the source said Meghan is “not going to be told what she can and can’t do, especially in regards to charity.”

“Long before she met Harry she was doing humanitarian work. She worked as a UN ambassador and with World Vision Canada and visited places like Rwanda and India on official missions, so she certainly doesn’t feel she needs the approval of the Royal Family to keep that going,” they said.

“All she and Harry want to do is help people, but of course from William and Charles’s perspectives what they’re doing is way out of line.”

It’s thought that Charles and William don’t have any issue with the Sussexes charity work, but with the style of the tours. The source said the trips are “carbon copies of what the royals do,” with the perception that they’re “brazenly trading on the family name after they were specifically told not to.”

The insider says it doesn’t help that the pair “always seem to time their trips to coincide with one of the senior royal’s engagements, it’s so obvious that they’re trying to capitalise on that for publicity.”

But they noted that the Sussexes “scoff” at this accusation, adding that so far, all they’ve done is accept offers that have come their way, so to accuse them of orchestrating some publicity grab is pure paranoia.”

A rep for Harry and Meghan has been approached for comment.

  • Prince Harry wins right to appeal High Court ruling over UK security

Prince Harry wins right to appeal High Court ruling over UK security

The Court of Appeal will now hear Harry’s challenge against the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures decision to decrease his security level

The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry has been given the green light to appeal against a High Court ruling dismissing his challenge over a decision to change the level of his personal security when he visits the UK by a Court of Appeal judge.

The Court of Appeal has now said it will listen to his challenge following a direct application from Harry’s lawyers, who said the prince had been granted permission to appeal. Harry first began the action after the Home Office, the ministry responsible for policing, in February 2020 cut off his right to automatic personal police security while in the UK.

    Prince Harry

Harry, in addition to other senior royals, had received full publicly-funded security protection until he chose to step back from his royal duties and moved to California with Meghan Markle back in March 2020. It was after this that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided In April not to allow Harry the same amount of protection as he previously had been given after he stopped being a “full-time working member of the royal family”.

Ravec was entitled to come to this conclusion, according to judge Sir Peter Lane, who then also ordered that Harry should pay 90% of the Home Office’s “reasonable costs” in defending the case. The government’s total outlay was not stated, however.

Judge David Bean, when granting permission for an appeal, said he was persuaded “not without hesitation”, that Harry’s challenge on the grounds that Ravec had not followed its own stated policy had a real prospect of success. The court also found that Sir Peter may have been mistaken in concluding that Harry was not in a position comparable to those in an “Other VIP Category”, who do receive state security.

At a previous hearing of the case in a written statement, Harry described the UK as his “home” and a place “central” to his children’s heritage. “It was with great sadness for both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020. The UK is my home.

“The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home, as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil. I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too,” he said.

A spokesman for Harry at the time of the earlier ruling indicated that he intended to appeal, noting: “The duke is not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of Ravec’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with Ravec’s own written policy.

“In February 2020, Ravec failed to apply its written policy to the Duke of Sussex and excluded him from a particular risk analysis. The Duke of Sussex hopes he will obtain justice from the Court of Appeal, and makes no further comment while the case is ongoing. The duke’s case is that the so-called ‘bespoke process’ that applies to him is no substitute for that risk analysis.”

Secrets of Duke of Westminster’s dazzling wedding – huge guestlist to William and Harry drama

The billionaire Duke of Westminster is to marry his fiancee Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral in what has been billed as the wedding of the year – but the nuptials seem to have become a flashpoint in one long-running royal feud

He was once deemed the UK’s most eligible bachelor – but today the Duke of Westminster will officially be off the market.

That’s because he is due to marry his fiancee Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral in what is being billed as the society wedding of the year. The billionaire has strong connections to the Royal Family and Prince William looks set to be an usher at the grand ceremony. But it seems recent royal drama has had a huge impact on the wedding – and here we look at everything we know about it.

    Richest under 40

The Duke of Westminster, whose real name is Hugh Grosvenor, became the 7th Duke of Westminster when his father sadly died from a heart attack at the age of 64 in 2016. At the time of his succession, he inherited an estimated wealth of £9billion and gained several new estates. He was just 25 at the time.

Hugh took over an immense property portfolio that spans land in the capital’s most prestigious postcodes – including half of Mayfair and 300 acres of Belgravia.

The source of the immense wealth comes from The Grosvenor Group, whose holdings also include the American Embassy, estates in Scotland and Spain, Liverpool city centre, Tokyo apartment blocks, a ‘large chunk’ of Silicon Valley, and the entirety of Annacis Island, just off Vancouver. According to Tatler, Grosvenor family money primarily dates back to the 1600s, when they first began buying land in London.

Over the years, he has also led a campaign for the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre, which was initiated by his father and continues to support the rehabilitation of seriously wounded or injured members of the Armed Forces. He has also represented Team GB at Olympic Skeet Shooting competitions overseas and in the UK.

In April 2023, it was announced that Hugh had become engaged to his girlfriend of two years Olivia Henson, who went to Marlborough College, the same school as the Princess of Wales. The couple said in a statement: “The Duke of Westminster and Miss Olivia Henson are delighted to announce they are engaged to be married.

“The couple, who have been together for two years, recently became engaged at the Duke’s family home at Eaton Hall in Cheshire. Members of both their families are absolutely delighted with the news.”

    Royal bond

Hugh’s connection to the royals stems back to his late father, Gerald Grosvenor. The 6th Duke of Westminster was a close friend and confidante of King Charles; so much so that he is one of Hugh’s godfathers. In fact, the bond between the two men was so strong that Charles later asked Gerald to act as a mentor for a young Prince William.

Gerald’s widow and Hugh’s mum, Natalia, meanwhile, is a godmother to William and in turn, the late Princess Diana was chosen to be a godmother to Gerald’s second daughter, Lady Edwina Grosvenor. The two families’ connections have remained strong. Given their wealth and lifestyle, William and Harry moved in similar circles to Hugh and the Duke developed strong friendships with both.

William and Kate asked Hugh to be godfather to their son and future King, Prince George; Hugh is the youngest of George’s seven godparents. And he is also believed to be a godfather to Harry’s firstborn child, Archie.

    William and Harry drama

Hugh, 33, who is the richest man in Britain under 40, finds himself in the unusual position of being close to both warring brothers. Both are believed to have been invited to the wedding, but only one is attending – William, with Harry diplomatically declining his invitation.

As a pal of both, Hugh understandably wanted to have both his friends at the wedding but agreed with Harry he would skip the event. A source previously told the Sunday Times: “Hugh is one of the very few close friends of William and Harry’s who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both.

“He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realises it’s unlikely to happen before the wedding. He wanted to avoid anything overshadowing the day, especially for Olivia, and doesn’t want any awkwardness.”

After Hugh and Harry came to the “civilised understanding” it seemingly paved the way for William’s attendance – and for him to take up his role as an usher at the ceremony. William is thought to be attending the wedding without his wife the Princess of Wales, who is continuing her recovery following a cancer diagnosis.

    Glittering guestlist

It is believed that 400 guests will pack into Chester Cathedral for the wedding ceremony. The happy couple’s family and friends are likely to be there including his three sisters Lady Tamara, Lady Viola and Lady Edwina, who is married to TV historian Dan Snow.

However, one very special guest looks set to be missing – his godfather King Charles. He is said to have been invited to the wedding but has had a busy few days attending D-Day commemorations and is using the weekend to rest before Trooping the Colour next Saturday.

However, his and Queen Camilla’s believed non-attendance has sparked memories of when Hugh’s sister Lady Tamara Grosvenor married Edward van Cutsem at the same venue in 2004. At that wedding, the late Queen was invited, as was the then Prince Charles and Camilla, although it was before the pair married. It was reported that Camilla’s invitation came with the stipulation she could not sit next to Charles or arrive with him, due to the late Queen and Prince Philip also attending.

This is said to have left Camilla furious and in the end neither she nor Charles attended, with the future King believed not to have been happy about how his now-wife was being treated. And a source told the Daily Mail: “Their Majesties have not forgotten what happened at the wedding of Hugh’s sister. There is still a lot of tension that exists.”

    Grand ceremony

The wedding, taking place at Chester Cathedral, will be officiated by The Dean of Chester the Very Revd Dr Tim Stratford and The Bishop of Chester, the Right Revd Mark Tanner, will preach. The bride, Olivia, will travel to the Cathedral with her dad Ruper Henson in a vintage Bentley.

In terms of the flowers for the service, the couple have chosen 100 per cent British blooms sourced from local growers with most of the foliage coming from the Grosvenor’s Eaton Estate. The flowers include rambling roses, philadelphus, campanula and orlaya grandiflora, while birch trees will line the Cathedral. Afterwards they will be donated to local organisations.

After the ceremony, a private reception will take place at Eaton Hall, which is located just outside of Chester City Centre. A spokesperson for the couple sais: “The Duke and Miss Henson have taken a great deal of care in planning the wedding, putting their own personal stamp on all the arrangements and have made a conscious effort to involve local and regional suppliers in several aspects of the day.

“This is an incredibly special day for the Duke and Miss Henson and they are very much looking forward to the service. The couple have also been moved by the messages of support they have received from around the region and are hugely grateful that people want to share in their happiness.”

    Happy ever after

Hugh and Olivia, the happy couple, have largely kept their wedding plans private. However, last month, the ‘nearlyweds’ paid a visit to their wedding venue – the Grosvenor family’s ancestral estate, Eaton Hall is less than four miles from Chester Cathedral – and spoke of their excitement.

“I think next time we’re in here will be slightly more nerve-wracking. But I’m unbelievably excited,” Hugh told Town & Country. “I just wanted to make it very clear how unbelievably helpful people have been, how supportive they’ve been so far which I’m unbelievably grateful for.”

Olivia added: “It’s obviously a place where we will live, where we’ll be building our lives together. And we’re slowly transitioning to move up from London and be much more permanent here and really putting roots down. So actually, yes it was a really easy decision in the end.”

The Duke looks set to settle down to the ‘farming life of a country gentleman’ following his wedding with Olivia. Friends told the Telegraph that the 33-year-old, who studied countryside management at university, has “a genuine love of the land” – entirely fitting given his position as one of the UK’s largest landowners.

Meghan Markle would never have gone to Duke of Westminster’s wedding due to one key reason

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to resolve one key issue before Meghan Markle makes her UK return, according to a royal commentator.

Meghan Markle would never have joined her husband Prince Harry on a trip back to the UK, had the royal decided to attend his good friend, the Duke of Westminster’s wedding on Friday for one key reason, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be absent from today’s lavish ceremony in Chester, where Hugh Grosvenor will be marrying Olivia Henson, despite having been invited.

Around 400 guests will be in attendance, including Harry’s older brother, Prince William, who will be an usher during the service.

Harry and William share a close relationship with Hugh – named Britain’s richest person under 40 – with both of the brothers making him godfather to their sons, Prince Archie and Prince George.

But while sources claimed Harry and Hugh reached a “mutual agreement” that it would be best for him not to attend, it has become clear that had he chosen to do otherwise, Meghan wouldn’t have travelled with him due to concerns regarding their security in the country.

The Telegraph’s royal editor Hannah Furness recently told Hello!’s A Right Royal Podcast: “There is quite a heavy narrative that Meghan and the children won’t be coming back until they can resolve this security issue to their liking.

“But he [Harry] will certainly be coming and going.”

The Duke of Sussex took legal action against the Home Office over the February 2020 decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection when in the country.

Ravec’s decision came as a result of a change in the duke’s “status” after he stopped being a “full-time working member of the Royal Family”, a judge was told.

In a judgment in February, retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane rejected the duke’s case in a 52-page ruling and concluded Ravec’s approach was not irrational nor procedurally unfair.

Harry previously expressed during a hearing for the case through a written statement: “It was with great sadness for both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020. The UK is my home.

“The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home, as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.

“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”

Meghan Markle takes a ‘swipe’ at Kate Middleton’s royal work in slick Archewell video

Meghan Markle has seemingly made a subtle swipe at Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, and her royal work in the latest glossy video for the Archewell Foundation

Meghan Markle has seemingly made a subtle swipe at her sister-in-law the Princess of Wales’ work in the all-new video released by the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation today.

Prince Harry and Meghan have released a glossy new video showing Archewell’s 2023 “impact” on the globe, with the video coming only hours after Princess Kate shared a video of herself at a baby bank with her three children. In the video that the Princess of Wales shared yesterday, Catherine could be seen picking out donations and making up boxes to go to children in need for Christmas.

Meanwhile, in Archewell’s latest video, Meghan can be seen being very hands-on, hugging what seemed like hundreds of people, and doing good deeds all while dressed incredibly glamorously. In the one-minute video, the people and causes that Archewell helped over the last 12 months are showcased.

Usually, the Archewell Foundation shares this kind of video in the new year, with previous videos in this style getting uploaded to their platforms in January. This has raised eyebrows online, with many people wondering if the timing of the post was brought forward to take the limelight off of the Waleses good work at the Windsor baby bank that they showcased.

Reacting to the video and suggestions that it was shared when it was to swipe at Catherine’s video and the hard work she is doing with her family, one person penned: “Desperately seeking attention.” Another then said: “You can bet anytime Catherine does something in public she does something to be seen seriously she still believes she has a greater voice.”

    Kate
Princess Kate recently shared a video of her doing work at a baby bank in Windsor
But despite there being a lot of tweets slamming the Duke and Duchess on social media, there was still a lot of love for the duo. One person gushed: “Wonderful work! I’m proud of how they’re making good use of their celebrity to help others. It’s good to see the fruits of their labour. Well done.”

Another said: “They’re so easy to love. So proud of these two remarkable souls!” And a third added: “Awesome work again by the Archewell Foundation led by Prince Harry & Meghan.”

This comes hours after Princess Catherine shared some very sweet footage that saw the mum-of-three take all of her children to The Baby Bank in Windsor after visiting the centre earlier this year, saying she would bring her little ones to help out, joking: “Perhaps my helpful ones and not my unhelpful ones!”

  • New letters show Queen’s true feelings as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claims thrown into doubt

New letters show Queen’s true feelings as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claims thrown into doubt

Prince Harry had recently said he cannot return to the UK with his family as he feels he can’t guarantee their safety due to the armed royal protection no longer being available

New letters have revealed the Queen did want Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “effective security” – putting the royal couple’s story into doubt, say reports.

The notes between Queen Elizabeth II’s most senior aide and the then Cabinet Secretary, shown in court, show how the monarch considered it “imperative” that they kept “effective security”. Sir Edward Young wrote to Sir Mark Sedwill, explaining that keeping the Sussexes safe was “of paramount importance to Her Majesty and her family”.

But Harry is challenging the decision to downgrade his publicly-funded security detail after he quit as a working royal in 2020. In a statement read out on his behalf in court, Harry said he felt “forced” to leave the UK after the security downgrade.

Harry and Meghan have maintained a narrative that they were cut off by the Royal family. In his autobiography Spare, Harry says he was “desperate” to keep his security and begged his family – including the late Queen – to continue armed police protection. He says he told them: “Look. Please. Meg and I don’t care about perks, we care about working, serving – and staying alive”. Harry says he was facing “total abandonment”.

And, in a statement read out in court this week, Harry wrote: “It was with great sadness to both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020. The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States.

“That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on UK soil. I can’t put my wife in danger like that, and given my experiences in life I’m reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”

But in January 2020, at the time of their Megxit departure, the Sussexes said they “chose” to leave rather than were “forced”. A statement back then read: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.”

  • King Charles won’t strip Harry and Meghan of titles as he ‘never wants to humiliate them’

King Charles won’t strip Harry and Meghan of titles as he ‘never wants to humiliate them’

Despite more revelations in Omid Scobie’s Endgame which hit shelves this week, King Charles is said to refuse even contemplating stripping Harry and Meghan’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles

The King will never strip Harry and Meghan of their royal Sussex titles despite the ongoing feud, sources say.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have retained their official titles since stepping down from royal duties in early 2020. The couple’s relationship with the King and the Waleses has turned acrimonious following several bombshell interviews and revelations in that time.

King Charles will never strip Harry and Meghan of their titles, royal expert claims - Mirror Online

The latest came this week with the publishing of Omid Scobie’s latest book, Endgame, which details claims of Kate’s frosty reception of Meghan. The 42-year-old author did not interview the Duchess for his latest work, but is said to share many mutual friends with the couple.

But while relations remain frosty, King Charles is said not to even contemplate removing their royal titles which they were bestowed by the late-Queen on their wedding day in 2018. Their HRH title prefixes were removed however after they stepped down nearly four years ago.

King Charles Removing Meghan Markle's Titles Is 'Not Going To Happen'

The source told MailOnline the King is “not a punitive man” and would “never want to humiliate” his son and daughter-in-law. And while Buckingham Palace is “considering all options” on how to respond to the ongoing saga, demoting them is not on the table with Charles as monarch.

“That is just something that would not be considered,” the source said. Were they to lose their Sussex titles, they would still be entitled to use Harry’s title as Prince, while Meghan would be able to call herself Princess Henry – Harry’s Christian name.

Royal author Mr Scobie meanwhile has defended the book after the Dutch version appeared to reveal names of family members who made comments about Prince Archie’s skin colour. He has claimed this was not an error on his part and has refused to apologise for the mistake, which resulted in copies being pulled from shelves in the Netherlands.

  • Princess Eugenie’s devastating plea to Prince Harry as Queen lay dying

Princess Eugenie’s devastating plea to Prince Harry as Queen lay dying

In an explosive new book detailing the final hours before the Queen’s passing, Omid Scoobie claims it was Princess Eugenie who came to Prince Harry’s aid as he was ‘kept in the dark’

It was Princess Eugenie who told Prince Harry just how dire the situation with the late Queen’s health was on 8 September last year – according to an excerpt from an explosive new royal book, Endgame, which is due to be released later this month.

The shocking excerpt by royal biographer Omid Scoobie, published in People magazine, reported that Eugenie informed Harry that it was “time” on the day the late Queen died when no one else in the family was answering his calls or texts.

Desperate Harry could not get hold of his elder brother William or his father, now King Charles – who, the excerpt claimed, doesn’t usually have a mobile phone with him.

The Queen's granddaughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie

Instead, it was his cousin who got in touch to discuss the situation with their grandmother’s failing health. The book reads: “Princess Eugenie reached out to Harry to see if he had any more information about their grandmother. She had heard from another family member that it was ‘time’ but knew little more.”

The author, who is also friends with Meghan and Harry, claims that William ignored Harry’s attempts to organise travel arrangments to Balmoral, Scotland, where the Queen had been staying as her health deteriorated.

Instead, the Duke of Sussex had to travel alone, and while unable to contact anyone during his flight up to Scotland, his team entered into negotiations with Buckingham Palace to delay the release of the announcement that the Queen had died until Harry had been informed.

Will you read the new royal bombshell book? Vote in our poll HERE to have your say.

Princess Eugenie has long been understood to be the family member who is still closest to the Sussexes since they stepped back from life as working royals in 2020 and moved across the Atlantic, with People Magazine reporting in August of this year that Harry is “still the best of friends” with both Eugenie and her sister Beatrice.

Recently, Harry and Meghan were reported to have enjoyed a minibreak in Portugal, in an area where Prince Andrew’s younger daughter is said to split her time. Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank married only a few months after Meghan and Harry in 2018 and have visited the Sussexes in California, and Harry sat in the same row as his cousin during King Charles’s Coronation.

Endgame, which will be released in full later this month, has been described on Amazon as “a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy”. The book’s description has added: “An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.”

EXCLUSIVE: Royal fury at book revelations about Prince Harry and William’s feud as Queen lay dying

Palace insiders tore into author Omid Scobie over a string of claims he made about the pair’s fractious relationship during a difficult time for the Royal Family

Royal courtiers were last night said to be furious over the revelations about Princes William and Harry’s feud which erupted as the Queen lay dying.

Palace insiders tore into author Omid Scobie over a string of claims he made about the pair’s fractious relationship during a time of personal grief for the Royal Family. The writer, who was previously briefed by Meghan for another of his books, alleges William ignored Harry’s calls as he desperately tried to get to the late Queen’s bedside.

He said there was “no proof” Charles phoned his youngest son during his gran’s dying moments. And Omid’s book, Endgame, says of William: “He feels he has lost Harry and doesn’t want to know this version of him.” Scobie also said the Prince is convinced his brother has been brainwashed by an “army of therapists” in America.

A Royal insider said: “It appears no matter what happens behind closed doors, even in a time of such pain and grief, that where the Royal Family are concerned it will one day emerge. Nothing is off limits with William and Kate appearing to be this author’s number one target. It only takes a few months for the knives to come out again and the wounds to be opened up.”

By having an excerpt of his book published, Scobie overshadowed Kate’s launch of a conference on her campaign for children and their families yesterday. Royal fans speculated details from the book had been timed to mar Kate’s work, a point regularly levelled at the Sussex’s over events.

During the King’s 75th birthday on Tuesday, rare pictures of the Duchess out with a friend were released. And Meghan revealed she was pregnant with her first child as Princess Eugenie wed in 2018. Highly personal details about the Queen’s death last year outlined in the book could only have come from someone present.

US-based Harry, 39 and Meghan, 42, had coincidentally been on a rare trip to the UK. The book claims Harry was told by Charles to go to Balmoral immediately as the Queen’s final hours neared. It says: “Harry sent a text message to his brother asking how he and Kate planned to get to  Scotland and whether they could travel together. No response.”

Scobie claims a source said: “William ignored him. He clearly didn’t want to see his brother.” The Sussexes got their own flight there. The book, out next week, claims Harry learned of the Queen’s death publicly while in the air. It states: “The Palace claimed Charles tried to call Harry (sources later told me there was never any proof of this).”

Endgame paints Harry as a constant victim, saying he was snubbed from a family gathering at Birkhall on the night the Queen died on September 8. It states: “William says he no longer even recognises his own brother, a source said.” And the book claims the Prince “refuses to even properly talk with” Harry. But the Duke is quoted as saying: “I’m ready to move on past it. Whether we get an apology or accountability, who knows? Who really cares at this point?”

EXCLUSIVE: King Charles ‘makes gesture for Princess Lilibet on her birthday amid family feud’

Princess Lilibet has only met her grandfather King Charles once during the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, but he still made sure to send her a birthday gift

Princess Lilibet is celebrating her third birthday today and she’s been given a special gift from King Charles, according to a royal expert.

The youngster was treated to a big birthday bash at her home in Montecito, California, over the weekend as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited their close friends to celebrate. However, members of the Royal Family were left off the guestlist amid their bitter feud. The snub didn’t stop Charles from marking the occasion, however, as he’s believed to have sent a special message to his granddaughter. Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror : “King Charles had no intention of completely ignoring Lilibet’s birthday so he has sent a gift along with a message.”

However, the monarch is saving a special gift for when the royal feud ends. Quinn said: “He gave Prince George a beautiful hand-made wooden swing with George’s name carved on it and he has plans to give something similar to Lilibet but not this year. And not unless and until the family feud dies down.”

Celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are believed to have attended Lilibet’s birthday party. Tom said: “Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday – hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple’s mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet.” Katy and Orlando are neighbours of Harry and Meghan. Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow and Oprah Winfrey also live close by to the Sussexes mansion.

Harry and Meghan are believed to have left the Royal Family off the invite list for Lilibet’s party. Tom told us: “Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family. “One of Harry’s old army friends said: ‘Harry knew they wouldn’t come anyway and he was pretty sure he would not have wanted them there. But he is really sad that Archie and Lilibet cannot have any kind of relationship with their cousins while his feud with his family continues’.”

Lilibet has only reunited with the Royal Family for one of her birthdays. The youngster was brought to the UK for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with the event coinciding with her first birthday. Her family held an intimate backyard picnic at Frogmore Cottage to celebrate.
