Expert exposes late Queen’s six-word warning to Camilla on her wedding day

The late Queen Elizabeth II is said to have warned Camilla of one thing during her wedding day to the now-King Charles in 2005.

King Charles and Camilla marry at St George’s Chapel

The late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly warned the now-Queen Camilla about wearing a feathered headpiece to her wedding in 2005.

Queen Camilla tied the knot to the now-King Charles in Windsor in April 2005, a special occasion that made her his second wife.

The now-76-year-old was famously seen battling the wind as she emerged from their civil ceremony, which took place at Windsor Guildhall.

According to MailOnline, the late Queen expressed that she had warned her not to wear feathers to her son, Charles.

A lipreader for the publication said that she could be seen saying to Charles: “I did warn her, [about] wearing feathers.”

Fortunately her headpiece kept in place, with footage from the Windsor location showing the smiling couple leaving the venue.

As well as the late Queen’s warning, the King can also be seen saying to his wife, “Hold on tight”.

Camilla could then be seen replying to her husband, “I need you/too”.

At the time of their marriage in 2005, an official statement said it was “intended” that Camilla would have been known – at the time Charles ascended the throne – as HRH The Princess Consort rather than Queen.

This would have been a royal first for the title ‘Princess Consort’ and came about due to her previously not being favourable amongst royal fans.

The statement read: “Mrs Parker Bowles will use the title HRH the Duchess of Cornwall after marriage.

“It is intended that Mrs Parker Bowles should use the title the Princess Consort when the prince accedes to the throne.”

According to royal expert and author Robert Jobson, the word ‘intended’ was used to give royal fans some time to warm to her.

In his book Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes And Dreams, Mr Jobson wrote: “The critical word in this statement, of course, was ‘intended’. What Clarence House was doing was buying time – time for a hostile public to warm to Camilla.

“Prince Charles, however, has always intended her to become his queen consort.

“According to an inside source, he’d already decided that before their wedding.”

Why Prince Philip wasn’t King despite being married to Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Philip married Elizabeth II in 1947, but why didn’t he become King when she ascended the throne?

Prince Philip didn’t bestow the title of ‘King’ when his wife, Elizabeth II became Queen in 1952.

It became a common question as to why he was not the King of England during Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign – and it’s down to a strict rule.

According to Reader’s Digest, the British Parliamentary law makes the rule as to who is up next in the line of succession and what title the monarch’s spouse will have.

The publication wrote that: “In terms of succession, the law looks only to blood, and not to gender. This rule makes the Royal Family tree sound complicated, but it’s actually easily explained.

“In terms of the spouses of royalty, however, that law treats men and women differently.”

Explaining further, Reader’s Digest added that, unlike a woman marrying into the Royal Family, a man “is not eligible to take the male form of his wife’s title”

Reader’s Digest added: “In keeping with this, when Philip Mountbatten married then-Princess Elizabeth in 1947, he did not become prince. It wasn’t until 1957 that Queen Elizabeth bestowed the title of ‘prince’ on Philip by issuing a letters patent.”

Previously speaking to Town and Country, royal historian Marlene Koenig said that this is the same for Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Prince Philip was born on this day, June 10, in 1921. The royal died on April 9, 2021 – just two months before what would have been his 100th birthday.

Unlike Philip, Queen Camilla was granted a female-version title of Charles.

She was known as ‘Queen Consort’ after King Charles ascended the throne in September 2022, but the ‘Consort’ has since been largely dropped.

In February 2022, in her Accession Day message, the late Queen noted that she wanted her beloved daughter-in-law to be known as ‘Queen Consort’ – although it was previously thought she would have another title.

When she married Charles in 2005, it was thought that she would be called ‘Princess Consort’ when he became King.

Following Philip’s death in 2021, Buckingham Palace released a statement.

The statement read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

Less than a year and a half later, on September 8, 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth passed away in Balmoral aged 96.

Prince Harry is thought to be determined to secure a permanent home in the UK as he ‘inevitably’ misses his life in Britain

Prince Harry’s return the UK is ‘inevitable’, according to a royal expert (Image: Getty)

Prince Harry is reportedly on a mission to establish a ‘permanent’ base in the UK, with a royal commentator suggesting he’s yearning for a foothold back in his homeland.

Since stepping away from the royal spotlight in 2020 and setting up life in the US with Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex has been without an official UK residence following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage last year. Now, it appears Harry is eager to secure a British home base.

Speaking to the Mirror, Royal author Tom Quinn shared insights: “As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK. Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”

Quinn further revealed: “He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan. Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security.”

The revelations follow Prince Harry’s heartfelt admission in his 2023 tell-all book ‘Spare’ about the deep sorrow he felt upon leaving Frogmore Cottage, his erstwhile Royal abode within the grounds of Windsor Castle. The residence was bestowed upon them by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2019, and the Sussexes independently funded its lavish refurbishments after initially drawing on public funds, which they subsequently reimbursed.

Yet, their tenure in the five-bedroom dwelling was fleeting; by the close of 2019, they had declared their intent to step back from Royal duties and by 2020, Frogmore Cottage was no longer their home.

    General Views Of Frogmore Cottage

In ‘Spare’, Harry recounts a poignant moment at Frogmore Cottage following Prince Philip’s funeral, as he awaited a meeting with his father Charles and brother William. Alone in the cottage, he was struck by a wave of sadness, realising that what was once envisioned as his ‘forever home’ had become just another transient stop in his life.

His words in the memoir resonate: “Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. Instead it had proved to be just another brief stop.”

Amidst these personal reflections, Prince Harry is also embroiled in an ongoing legal tussle with the UK Home Office. He has recently escalated his fight over the decision to downgrade his security arrangements when in the UK, taking his case to the Court of Appeal after a High Court judge dismissed his initial challenge.

This legal wrangle began when the Home Office, which oversees policing, revoked his entitlement to automatic police protection during his stays in the UK in February 2020.

Prince Harry had two main fears about attending the wedding ceremony deemed to be the social event of the year, alongside his elder brother, Prince William. This analysis comes from a seasoned Royal observer and ex-employee of King Charles.

Following Prince William’s solo attendance at the opulent union of the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor and Olivia Henson, without the company of his father, King Charles or spouse, Kate, Grant Harrold, once the butler in service to King Charles, gave an interview to OK! magazine.

Harrold shared: “I’m sure [Harry] would have wanted to attend. But Harry and William shared friends and they have likely been drawn into this dispute. Plus, he may have worried that the rift with William would pull focus from the wedding.”

In addition, Harrold noted: “It will be hard for William to attend the wedding without Kate as I’m sure they planned to go together. They’re such a partnership and he’s his best self when she’s by his side.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest King Charles is deeply upset over missing the grand nuptials of the Duke, despite several acquaintances including his eldest son making an appearance. There has been considerable buzz around the event, now referred to as the ‘society event of the year’.

The Duke of Westminster, who includes Prince George and Archie Sussex among his godchildren, exchanged vows with Olivia Henson in a ceremony which held Royal significance. Despite his close bond with the Royal family, it wasn’t projected that King Charles would be present at the wedding, owing to his persistent health issues.

Mr Harrold fondly recalled the close bond between the families, stating: “The Duke of Westminster’s late father was Charles’ best friend. I witnessed the two families together when I worked with Charles and they are so close”.

King Charles’ ongoing cancer treatments have understandably taken precedence over such engagements. Mr Grand added: “Charles has a special bond with the Duke of Westminster too but if he’s been forced to miss the wedding due to a packed schedule and his ongoing treatment, that will be a bitter pill to swallow and he’ll be devastated.”

In praise of Charles’ commitment, Harrold further added: “He’d commit to a full work schedule if he could and hates to let people down.”

Given the close relationship between them, it is believed that the Duke may have asked Charles not to exert himself by attending the wedding, especially considering Charles had made a trip to Normandy on June 6 to mark the anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Cancer has cast a shadow not only over Charles but also over Prince William and Princess Catherine, who has been battling her own harrowing diagnosis this year. Everyone close to King Charles is hoping for his swift recovery so he can resume his Royal duties and family life.

The motives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Nigeria have been questioned by royal expert Rupert Bell, as he claimed the focus seemed to have shifted away from the Invictus Games.

The tour last month saw the couple visit military hospitals and attend sporting events in connection with the Invictus Games, with Nigeria participating in the tournament for the first time last year.

It was during the competition in Germany that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were invited by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff to visit the country.

However, with the revelation that Meghan is 43 percent of Nigeria heritage, Mr Bell told TalkTV that in the aftermath of the visit, much of the attention has been on her.

He explained: “The visit, which I’m sure was deemed to be about Invictus, but all of the fallout from it seems to be about Meghan. Harry’s role in trying to drum up support for Invictus seems to have been put on the backburner.”

Meghan Markle would never have gone to Duke of Westminster’s wedding due to one key reason

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to resolve one key issue before Meghan Markle makes her UK return, according to a royal commentator.

Meghan Markle would never have joined her husband Prince Harry on a trip back to the UK, had the royal decided to attend his good friend, the Duke of Westminster’s wedding on Friday for one key reason, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be absent from today’s lavish ceremony in Chester, where Hugh Grosvenor will be marrying Olivia Henson, despite having been invited.

Around 400 guests will be in attendance, including Harry’s older brother, Prince William, who will be an usher during the service.

Harry and William share a close relationship with Hugh – named Britain’s richest person under 40 – with both of the brothers making him godfather to their sons, Prince Archie and Prince George.

But while sources claimed Harry and Hugh reached a “mutual agreement” that it would be best for him not to attend, it has become clear that had he chosen to do otherwise, Meghan wouldn’t have travelled with him due to concerns regarding their security in the country.

The Telegraph’s royal editor Hannah Furness recently told Hello!’s A Right Royal Podcast: “There is quite a heavy narrative that Meghan and the children won’t be coming back until they can resolve this security issue to their liking.

“But he [Harry] will certainly be coming and going.”

The Duke of Sussex took legal action against the Home Office over the February 2020 decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection when in the country.

Ravec’s decision came as a result of a change in the duke’s “status” after he stopped being a “full-time working member of the Royal Family”, a judge was told.

In a judgment in February, retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane rejected the duke’s case in a 52-page ruling and concluded Ravec’s approach was not irrational nor procedurally unfair.

Harry previously expressed during a hearing for the case through a written statement: “It was with great sadness for both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020. The UK is my home.

“The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home, as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.

“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”

The seventh Duke of Westminster, 33 – crowned Britain’s richest resident under 40 – married 31-year-old Olivia in a lavish wedding ceremony which included the crème de la crème of the British aristocracy.

The bride looked breathtaking in a sleek wedding dress and veil designed by Emma Victoria Payne. Olivia wore the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara – a family heirloom since 1906, while her bouquet was made of flowers picked from the gardens of the Duke’s family home, Eaton Hall. The 31-year-old beamed and was cheered on by the crowds as she made her way to church, shortly before 12pm.

Hugh also looked dapper in a black longtail coat, a black waistcoat, grey pin-striped trousers, a white and light blue shirt and a pink tie which featured dragonflies. Hugh made quite the entrance as he arrived at the ceremony in a green Land Rover and waved to the crowds who had gathered in the streets just before greeting the Dean of Chester the Rev Dr Tim Stratford and going inside.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Nigeria is all about going somewhere they are “celebrated” and not a place where the couple are merely “tolerated”, a royal commentator has claimed.

Kinsey Schofield suggested the Sussexes’ forthcoming visit to the African country is for show.

Asked why Harry and Meghan want to visit Nigeria, US-based commentator Ms Schofield said: “It’s the optics. They want their pictures taken.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the 2023 Invictus Games Düsseldorf

They’ve found people that will play their game so they’re going to chase after it. Go where you’re celebrated not where you’re tolerated.

“They’re going to make them look like these celebrated leaders, cultural leaders… Harry and Meghan need the photos. They need that positive attention because they rarely get any.”
Ms Schofield was debating the forthcoming visit with TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan on her YouTube channel, Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered.

A Nigerian official said on Sunday (April 28) that Harry and Meghan will visit Nigeria this month for talks on the Invictus Games.

Defence spokesman Brigadier General Tukur Gusau didn’t say exactly when the Duke of Sussex will arrive in Africa.

Nigeria was among the countries participating in last year’s games. The country’s military has been fighting a deadly war against Islamic extremists in the country’s northeast since 2009.

The visit to Nigeria will include cultural activities and “consolidate Nigeria’s stronghold at the games and the possibility of hosting the event in later years”, according to Brigadier General Gusau.

Harry is expected to make the trip after a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the games on May 8.

In a separate instalment of Kinsey Schofield Uncensored, Ms Schofield said Harry will be making a solo trip to the UK and neither fellow members of the Royal Family nor Meghan will attend the anniversary event.

The royal expert said Meghan’s absence surprised her, adding: “I felt like she would be concerned with the optics of Prince Harry standing there alone.

“This is probably one of his proudest moments. I would feel concerned with him feeling lonely in that moment and not having somebody there to celebrate that with.”

Harry’s concerns over security mean few details have been made public ahead of the appearance, according to Ms Schofield, who said the Duke will want to see King Charles during his visit to Britain.

Fellow royal expert Katie Nicholl said a meeting between Harry and his estranged brother, Prince William, is unlikely.

She suggested, however, that one of Harry’s cousins might show up for the St Paul’s Cathedral ceremony, adding: “You just think it would be nice if there was some support from his family.

Liverpool star Mo Salah praised for ‘honest’ comment immediately after Jurgen Klopp spat
    Story by Felix Keith

Mohamed Salah was protecting the Liverpool team morale when he refused to explain why he rowed with Jurgen Klopp at West Ham, according to Glen Johnson.

Salah was seen furiously arguing with his manager while waiting to come on during Liverpool’s damaging 2-2 draw at the London Stadium on Saturday. Darwin Nunez was forced to step in and move Salah away from Klopp, who was clearly unhappy with what the Egyptian was saying.

Salah’s actions appeared to be born out of frustration, having been benched for the second time in a week amid a slump in form. But walking through the mixed zone after the game, he declined the opportunity to stop and speak to reporters, simply stating: “If I speak, there will be fire.”
Some have interpreted those words as inflammatory and suggested it shows a division between Liverpool’s outgoing manager and star player, but former Reds defender Johnson sees it a different way.

“I appreciate his honesty because, the thing is, the only person that loses is him,” he told Squawka. “If he speaks his mind and tells you what’s really on his brain, then everyone’s going to criticise him for it and he can’t win.

“So that’s why players shouldn’t do interviews when they’re fiery, or angry, or have just come off the pitch, or were sent off, because they’re going to speak from the heart. And some people aren’t designed to take that.

“So I don’t mind it. At least he’s calculated and he knows that he’s going to say some stuff that’s going to upset people, so I’m sure he’s told the people that are upsetting him in person. I respect it. I’m sure he’s let his steam off elsewhere.

Industry Peers Are Reportedly Laughing at Meghan Markle

A recent report claimed Meghan Markle has turned into an industry joke. On May 4, In Touch, citing an anonymous source, reported that Meghan Markle was being laughed out of Hollywood after her forthcoming podcast with Lemonade Media was reportedly pushed back to next year.

Markle secured the new deal after her multi-million-dollar content creation deals with streaming giant Spotify in 2020 fell apart last year.

Inside Source Claims Meghan Markle Has Allegedly Turned Into A Hollywood "Joke"

Meghan Markle’s transition from a Royal to Hollywood has faced a few bumps in the last four years. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity since breaking away from the Monarchy has dwindled, as evidenced by how their industry peers treated them in 2023, with the couple becoming the subject of numerous late-night jokes and skits.

An inside source reportedly told the publication Markle has become a “total joke” in the industry after the executives of the new podcast slated to launch this year were put on pause to avoid a clash with her other projects.

The statement was reportedly reached by another anonymous source who said, “Now, after all her failures, those A-listers — and the royals — are laughing at her!”

The publication, citing a source, added, “Meghan gets greedy. She wants everything all at once, and it’s backfiring on her again. She’s become a total joke and is overplaying her hand.”

Markle announced the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, last month. She also has an upcoming Netflix cooking show in the pipeline this year.

The Insider revealed that Lemonade was not too pleased after they were forced to push back the podcast, adding,

The source then alleged Meghan Markle desperately hopes for a hit to prove her worth to Hollywood. The sources added she isn’t betting on any of Markle’s projects, noting, “Almost everything they’ve tried has ended in disaster.”

It should be noted the Netflix series, “Harry & Meghan”, received the highest UK viewing ratings for any Netflix show in 2022. While the report claimed most of Hollywood was allegedly “laughing” at the duchess, Hollywood powerhouse Kris Jenner was undoubtedly not one of them. Recently, Jenner supported the Duchess of Sussex’s American Riviera Orchard after Markle gifted her a jar of strawberry jam.
