Sophie Trudeau who was previously married to the Canadian Prime Minister gave Meghan Markle the cold shoulder and refused to confirm an existing friendship between the two women.

In a brutal 10-worded snub earlier this year, Sophie told The Times: “I know her… but we haven’t spent much time together.”

Justin Trudeau’s ex-wife was featured on Meghan Markle’s failed podcast, Archetypes in November 2022, when Meghan described a day of laughter and fun that the pair spent at her Montecito mansion, where their children played in the swimming pool on pizza-shaped floats.

Meghan admitted described how Sophie used to send her “little meditations” during her pregnancy and voice notes “of encouragement” to the Duchess. She also described how they drank wine on her terrace and were “giddy like absolute schoolgirls.”

However, in the interview, Sophie turned the conversation over to Meghan’s sister-in-law instead and revealed her “heart just sunk” when she heard about Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

According to the book, Finding Freedom, Meghan became friendly with Sophie in 2016 after meeting her husband Justin, who has been Canada’s prime minister since 2015, at the One Young World summit in Ottawa that year.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claim: “The pair became fast email friends, Meghan was interested to hear how Sophie had successfully made the move from an entertainment news correspondent to much-beloved First Lady, all while skillfully dodging controversy.”

In November 2022, Meghan invited Ms Trudeau on to her Spotify podcast Archetypes, where the pair spoke about the challenges of parenting and being a partner to Justin and Harry.

Meghan introduced Ms Trudeau as a “humanitarian mother” she met in Toronto, where Meghan was living while filming a hit TV show, Suits.

It is unclear why Sophie did not confirm an existing friendship with Meghan, but the Duchess has also been criticised for her “strategic friendship” with former best friend Jessica Mulroney.

Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths has accused the Duchess of Sussex of being quick to discard friendships, particularly in light of her apparent distancing from Mulroney in recent years.

Griffiths referred to the term “Markled”, a slang term from the Urban Dictionary which describes someone who cuts ties with a friend after they’ve made a significant contribution to their life.

Speaking on Palace Confidential, Griffiths said: “I think she’s a bit strategic with her friends and once she’s finished with them, she casts them aside and forgets all about them, deletes their number and blocks their number in some cases.”

Jessica and Meghan have not been seen together publicly recently and Jessica did not feature in the couple’s Netflix series, in which other friends of Harry and Meghan were interviewed.

King Charles was urged to make the Princess of Wales a Lady of the Order of the Garter because she “deserves it” as the Royal Family prepare themselves for a very busy royal week.

The pomp and pageantry will kick off this Saturday, June 15, when the nation will celebrate King Charles’s second Trooping the Colour.

Following that, there will be seven days of engagements for the most senior royals, complete with Royal Ascot and the Order of the Garter ceremony.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain that can be given by a monarch.

In light of this and next week’s engagements, former royal butler Paul Burrell touched down on why he believes the monarch rewards his “favourites” and the reason why there is “nepotism” in the Royal Family as the King “showers the people around him”.

Mr Burrell also called for the service to be “fair” with many “unsung heroes” in Britain who should be “elevated and celebrated” for their work.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, he said: “I wanted the King to invest [Princess] Kate into the Order of the Garter, but he hasn’t done it.

“I’m hoping that the King will invest Kate in the most noble order. I’m hoping he’s going to do that, if he does it will make headlines, she deserves it.

“She’s our future queen, she’s a Princess of Wales, it’s time for her to become a Lady member of the Garter.”

The former royal butler claimed Charles “showers” the people around him with royal titles and gifts as he wants to “be loved” and “reward them for their service to him and the country”.

But he added: “If this was fair there are so many unsung heroes out there who should be elevated and celebrated because of their work for our country.

“I find it difficult to get across the bridge of nepotism. I also wonder why Kate hasn’t been made a Lady of the Order of the Garter when she is our future queen which is out of kilter for me.

“I think it revolves around the King and his favourites.”

Expert reveals ‘biggest diva’ in Royal Family as Meghan Markle only takes second spot

The two biggest divas in the Royal Family have been revealed by a royal expert – and the first may surprise you.

A royal expert has revealed the two “biggest divas” in the Royal Family with Meghan Markle coming in at second place. Speaking on the Sun’s latest royal podcast, it is claimed Princess Margaret snatches the number one spot.

Former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond shared her opinion on the podcast when asked who the biggest diva in the Royal Family was. She said: “I think historically, probably Princess Margaret was. A real diva.”

Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II, is often remembered as the epitome of royal glamour and sophistication. Although she played her part as a dutiful member of the Royal Family, it was her personality which was sometimes described as that of a “diva”.

The Queen’s youngest sister was also known for her tendency not to hold back and was sometimes accused of being “rude” to people she had just met.

    Princess Margaret

A royal expert claims Princess Margaret was the “biggest diva” (Image: Getty)

The former BBC Royal Correspondent previously said: “She would say exactly what she thought. She was sitting next to Twiggy, the model, and she ignored her for about two hours and then turned to her and said, ‘who are you?’

And she said, ‘Oh, my name is Leslie, ma’am, but most people know me as Twiggy.’ And Margaret turns and says, ‘how unfortunate’.”

Ms Bond continued: “She was fantastically grand, fantastically snobbish. And she did tarnish the reputation of the Royal Family with her lifestyle, her broken marriage, bringing divorce into the fold.”

One of the most significant aspects perhaps contributing to Princess Margaret’s ‘diva’ image was her tumultuous love life. Her affair with Group Captain Peter Townsend, a divorced war hero, caused a national scandal. Margaret eventually married Antony Armstrong-Jones, a photographer, in 1960 but their marriage eventually ended in the first major divorce in the Royal Family since Henry VIII in the 70s.

But Ms Bond explained: “But that, too, has another side because she cleared the way for younger members of the Royal Family to get out of unhappy marriages.”

In the Sun’s royal podcast, Ms Bond also added: “I do think that Meghan had some diva qualities.”

The Duchess of Sussex once discussed the complexities surrounding the word ‘diva’ on her Archetypes podcast, with guest singer, Mariah Carey. Ms Carey jokingly said that Meghan has “diva moments sometimes”. Meghan later admitted this comment left her “sweating”.

In the second episode of Archetypes, Mariah said: “You give us diva moments sometimes Meghan. Don’t even act like.”

Meghan later explained Mariah’s comments were focused on her dress sense: “So she must have felt my nervous laughter and she jumped right in to make sure I was crystal clear when she said diva, she was talking about the way that I dress, the posture, the clothing.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a lucrative deal with the streaming giant in late 2020 to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around £18m, just months after stepping back as senior royals and relocating from the UK to California. Meghan’s podcast Archetypes ran for 12 episodes from August 2022 but was not renewed for a second series.

Prince Harry recalls asking for a “secret meeting” with his father, the then-Prince Charles and brother, Prince William, when he flew to the UK to attend the funeral of his late grandfather, Prince Philip. Harry’s thoughts were penned in his bombshell memoir, Spare, released in January 2023, where he detailed feeling intimidated by the royal pair.

The Duke of Sussex recalled panicking that they had “changed their minds” about meeting with him while he was back in England, and admitted he “considered giving up” when he believed they weren’t going to come. However, when heading back to the house where his cousins were gathered, Harry spotted William and Charles on their way to meet him.

He wrote: “Then, at last, I saw them. Shoulder to shoulder, striding towards me, they looked grim, almost menacing. More, they looked tightly aligned. My stomach dropped. Normally they’d be squabbling about one thing or another, but now they appeared to be in lockstep – in league. The thought occurred: Hang on, are we meeting for a walk…or a duel?”

Harry also revealed he was scared of meeting with his family, and compared it to “going into battle for the first time”.

The relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal Family worsened when they announced they were stepping down as working royals and eventually relocated to the US, signing Netflix and Spotifty deals. But the relationship between the brothers also worsened further when he and Meghan took part in an explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘trying to punish someone’ in two specific ways

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘trying to punish someone’ in two specific ways

Prince Harry began a lawsuit against the Home Office in 2020 after changes were made to his security in the UK after he stepped down as a senior working Royal. A Royal expert has now claimed that the couple are trying to “punish somebody”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be on a mission “to punish somebody” amid their ongoing feud with the Royal Family, according to a Royal expert.

Harry initiated legal action against the Home Office in 2020 following alterations to his security arrangements in the UK after he resigned from his senior Royal duties. The 39-year-old has relocated to the US with Meghan and their two children, where they have been living for the past four years.

Discussing the prolonged security dispute on TalkTV, Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested that the couple appears to be trying “to punish somebody” by prolonging the issue. Ms Schofield said: “Meghan not coming during several of the last visits, Harry refusing to stay at the Palace. It’s almost as if they’re trying to prove their point by saying, ‘Well, Meghan can’t come. She’s not safe enough. Harry can’t stay at the Palace, it’s not safe enough.” She added: “It feels they are creating this distance to punish somebody and to prove some point but the reality is that’s the safest Harry would have been.”

Harry’s taxpayer-funded security was revoked by the Home Office.

Since stepping down as a working royal, Harry has made several visits to the UK – including his most recent trip last month. Harry flew to the UK in early May to attend a special ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The Duke travelled alone, with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, remaining in the US. Meghan last visited the UK in September 2022, with the visit including an appearance at the late Queen’s funeral. Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, have not visited the UK since June of that year – with Lilibet having only ever visited the UK once.

Prior to Harry’s visit last month, it was reportedly that Meghan was fearing an “anxiety-fuelled visit” if she and their children were to join him. At the time, an insider told the Mirror : “It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe.”

In other news, Meghan has been told the two things she finds “really difficult” but will be vital if her new lifestyle brand venture American Riviera Orchard is to become a success.

According to a royal expert and author, the Duchess of Sussex is “struggling to find staff for her new brand”. Earlier in March, Meghan quietly launched her latest business venture. An Instagram account popped up on the platform, introducing American Riviera Orchard to the world. When she first introduced her brand, Meghan teased its aesthetic with a brief video trailer on an Instagram story. She then posted the brand’s logo across a nine-grid collage on the page.

However, after sending out 50 jars of homemade strawberry jam to a select group of celebrity pals, the brand seems to have hit a roadblock. Royal author and expert Tom Quinn suggests that Meghan is having trouble recruiting staff because she has a “tough outlook” and “absolute self-belief” meaning she finds two things “really difficult” when it comes to managing her staff.

Mr Quinn explained: “The result of Meghan’s tough outlook is that she is having difficulties finding staff for her new brand – she wants them to be full of ideas of their own, but also totally compliant to her wishes. Meghan has absolute self-belief…But to make her brand a success she needs to take and accept advice and allow staff who know far more about these things to make some of the decisions. This is really difficult for Meghan as she is not a natural delegator.”

Royal fans spot glaring error on Prince William’s monogram at public engagement

Prince William took a trip to Cardiff this week to learn more about seaweed innovation – but royal fans were distracted by a major mistake in an official photograph

Kensington Palace shared a new photograph of Prince William this week as he headed off for an engagement in Cardiff. But royal fans were quick to notice a glaring mistake relating to his royal title.

William became the Prince Of Wales following the death of his grandmother, the late Queen, and his father King Charles’s accession to the throne. And it seems changes still need to be made following the title change.

The 41-year-old royal headed to Wales on Tuesday to learn more about seaweed innovation, travelling by train. In a photo shared on social media, William can be seen looking out the window during his journey, with his phone and a red binder on the table in front of him.

The folder features his royal monogram, a “W” topped by a coronet – but the royal cypher has not been updated to reflect his new status as the heir apparent.

The out-of-date cypher can be seen on the front of the folder

Gert’s Royals noted on X that William’s symbol, which he routinely uses on stationary and official documents, still features the coronet of a child of the Prince of Wales.

In response, one person added: “I guess it’ll all change as people get used to the former Prince Charles stuff changing over to his King logos and symbols. Prince George isn’t going to be using this stuff for a while anyway.”

“William wouldn’t have to use the Prince of Wales feathers that Charles mainly used during his time as heir,” Gert’s Royals replied. “William could keep his monogram and just swap out the coronet for the appropriate one. It would cause any confusion, the W would still clearly be William. And many people probably wouldn’t even notice the coronet/crown change.”

While William’s monogram is yet to be updated, King Charles debuted his new royal cypher shortly after his accession. His monogram shows the crown above his first initial “C” intertwined with an “R” for rex (Latin for king, traditionally used for the monarch dating back to the 12th century), with “III” inside the “R.”

The King chose his cypher from several created by the palace’s heraldry experts at the College of Arms. It has gradually replaced Queen Elizabeth’s “ERII” insignia on government buildings, state documents, post boxes, uniforms and official stationery.

Queen Camilla’s monogram, meanwhile, was designed by Prof Ewan Clayton, and combines Camilla’s initial “C” and “R” for Regina – the Latin word for queen. It is used by the King’s wife on personal letterheads, cards and gifts.

Meanwhile, fans are looking ahead to Saturday when the royal family steps out in force for Trooping the Colour, the King’s official birthday celebrations.

Prince William will likely be there, and is expected to be joined by his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It is not known whether his wife Princess Kate will be able to attend in light of her ongoing cancer treatment.

In a recent message, the Princess revealed that she hopes to return to her public duties very soon. Kate wrote to the Irish Guards apologising for missing the final rehearsal ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour. The regiment later shared photos of the royal’s message on X.

“I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour. I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drills are immaculate,” Kate wrote.

“Being your colonel remains a great honour, and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review,” she continued. “Please pass my apologies to the whole regiment, however I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.

The Princess concluded her note by writing, “Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved,” before signing off with the phrase ‘Quis Separabit – a Latin motto associated with the British Army in Ireland meaning ‘who will separate us?’ – “Colonel Catherine”.

  • Prince William’s 10-word plea to Harry after huge row at Prince Philip’s funeral

Prince William’s 10-word plea to Harry after huge row at Prince Philip’s funeral

Relations between William and Harry are at an all-time low – but during one heated discussion, the older brother shared some heartfelt words with his younger sibling

Prince Harry’s relationship with Prince William was left in tatters following the Sussexes sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey.

From allegations of racism to claims Kate Middleton had made Meghan cry the week of her wedding, Harry and Meghan made headlines with their shocking account of life inside the royal fold.

The aftermath of the Oprah show was explosive as the royal brothers struggled to find a way through their rift. This was apparent when Harry rejoined his brother and father for the funeral of Prince Philip. According to Harry, the trio were out for a walk near Frogmore Cottage following the service on April 17, 2021 when things got heated.

Prince William and Prince Harry in suits as they arrive to unveil statue of Princess Diana

Writing in Spare, the Duke claimed he was trying to address bullying allegations made against Meghan, but his father and brother ‘weren’t listening.’ William was apparently “really steaming” and grasped at him as he tried to walk away.

“I waved a hand, disgusted, but he lunged, grabbed my shirt. ‘Listen to me, Harold,”‘ Harry wrote. “I pulled away, refused to meet his gaze. He forced me to look into his eyes. ‘Listen to me, Harold, listen! I love you, Harold! I want you to be happy.”‘ Harry claims he replied: “I love you too…but your stubbornness is extraordinary!”

The Duke said he then tried to pull away, but William allegedly “grabbed him again” and “twisted him” so the pair could maintain eye contact. William then evoked the brother’s so-called ‘secret code’ and swore on Princess Diana’s life that his intentions were genuine.

Harry claims that William then pleaded with him, saying: “Harold, you must listen to me! I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear I swear on Mummy’s life.”

Harry continued: “He stopped. I stopped. Pa stopped. He’d gone there. He’d used the secret code, the universal password. Ever since we were boys those three words were to be used only in times of extreme crisis.”

He then claimed his brother “wasn’t quite ready to accept defeat” and claimed to be “properly sick and ill” over the tensions between the pair. William allegedly reiterated: “I swear to you now on Mummy’s life that I just want you to be happy.”

Harry claims his “voice broke” and he “softly” told William: “I really don’t think you do.” William then hugged his brother, and told him “I love you.”

It remains to be seen whether Harry will ever reunite with his brother – but royal expert Jennie Bond thinks it’s unlikely. She previously told The Sun : “Deep down, I’m sure William still loves Harry, but I don’t think he can see a way out of the rift that has opened between them. I think William has closed his mind to the prospect of reconciliation with Harry, and I can’t see a time when Meghan would be welcomed back into the bosom of the family – or a time when she would ever want to be welcomed back. I doubt that William thinks about them for more than a fleeting moment – and then he probably tries to blank out those thoughts.”

  • Prince Harry’s warning to Prince William about second book after ‘taking things out’ of Spare

Prince Harry’s warning to Prince William about second book after ‘taking things out’ of Spare

It was exactly one year ago that Prince Harry’s explosive memoir Spare hit shelves and shocked readers with its bombshells about the Royal Family – but it appears Harry had enough material to fill a second book

It appeared to be the no-holds-barred book by Prince Harry that left no detail about the likes of Prince William and King Charles unturned.

Exactly a year ago today, the Duke of Sussexes’ explosive memoir Spare hit shelves and caused immediate controversy after revealing some of the royals’ most private moments. From details about a physical altercation between the pair at Kensington Palace to a tense showdown at Prince Philip’s funeral and tension between the brothers and their wives, Kate and Meghan, Harry made some of the most candid claims about his older brother William.

But it seems the content in the book is just the tip of the iceberg as far as Harry is concerned as he once warned he had enough material for a second memoir – and admitted he purposefully left out certain secret details from Spare.

Just days after Spare was published last January, Harry said he avoided mentioning some anecdotes about his father and brother, as he feared they would never forgive him if he revealed them. He said the original manuscript for his book was twice the length of the final draft and many details about interactions between him, Charles and William were edited out as there were things he didn’t want the world to know. Harry admitted he had 50 Zoom calls with his ghostwriter and at times struggled to decide which details to include and which ones to leave out of his memoir.

Harry told The Telegraph: “It could have been two books, put it that way. And the hard bit was taking things out.” The Duke added: “There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know. Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me.”

Meanwhile, it appears 2024 is shaping up to be a pivotal one for Harry and Meghan in terms of what lies ahead for their careers. However, according to royal expert Tessa Dunlop, the couple was able to retain ‘talk-ability’ in 2023 – and it could be their ‘high-risk’ strategy that sees them well into the New Year. She explained: “Despite all the rumours, their marriage appears solid, and they remain one of the few global brands that can knock wars and international disasters off the front pages. The question for 2024 is whether they can convert that clickbait appeal into something more durable.

“A lot of the media storms the Sussexes generated this year have been hangovers from the ‘truth bombs’ detonated in the wake of their departure from the royal family in 2020 (including the race- storm triggered by Endgame). Beyond the Invictus Games and accompanying Netflix series, Archewell Productions has been conspicuous by its absence.

“What comes next really matters, presumably that’s why they are taking their time. While a reconciliation with the Royal Family looks unlikely in the near future, further attacks on the monarchy would be a mistake, with the couple insisting they’re looking to the future. There’s talk of a ‘total system reboot’ and Meghan has promised ‘exciting things on the slate’.

“We know Archewell Productions is adapting the novel Meet Me at the Lake for television (the romantic storyline, which includes a fatal car crash, leans into the Sussexes’ personal brand) while all eyes are on where and when Meghan will launch a much-predicted business venture akin to her old lifestyle blog Tig. The couple appears to thrive on a high-risk strategy, but with so many people willing them to fail, they cannot afford to further squander their brand in 2024. The world is watching.”

Bruckner is currently immersed in various legal proceedings, accused of multiple rapes, abuses and robberies. During his testimony at the Braunschweig District Court, Detective Stampa made a startling revelation about the Madeleine McCann case.

The investigator took the stand and, once there, confessed that the Federal Criminal Investigation Office (BKA) has evidence linking two of Bruckner’s email accounts to McCann’s disappearance and death, but made it known that he could not give further details because that case is still open.

Despite this, he made public that the suspect had used these accounts to exchange images of sexual abuse of minors and that, something that had caught the attention of investigators is that all evidence from the first half of 2007, the year of McCann’s disappearance, was removed from the account.

In his statement, Stampa refers to one of the emails sent and in it Bruckner refers to a fantasy where he kidnaps a five-year-old girl and her mother and, after taking them away, sexually abuses them with brutality.

Another piece of evidence in the BKA’s possession, an external hard drive containing a multitude of documents, also attracted attention, although it was not stated what the documents were about.

    Middleton recovers from cancer

Since revealing her cancer to the world on March 22, after weeks of incredulous conspiracy theories, the Princess of Wales then withdrew from the public eye to focus on recovery and preventative chemotherapy.

Yet, despite hair and weight loss, she seems to be getting better and was even seen out and about with her family according to PEOPLE, who also reported she was conducting solo tasks too.

Prince William also added that she’s “doing well” back in May, although it remains unclear when she will be back in her full capacity as a working royal.
