Queen Camilla dazzled as she arrived at Buckingham Palace to host a lavish state banquet for the Emperor and Empress of Japan, alongside King Charles. But as with many of the formal pieces in the royal collection, there is a long story behind her choice of headware.

The Queen wore an embroidered cream silk crepe dress by Fiona Clare, one of her go-to designers, which she complemented with silver heels and a matching clutch. Adding sparkle to her outfit, she wore a diamond necklace and a coordinated set of ruby and diamond earrings, as well as a bracelet.

For the first time, Camilla sported the new Family Order on her left shoulder, along with the late Queen’s. The Family Order is a badge worn by female members of the Royal Family, though last night Her Majesty was the only one to wear the new badge.

However, it was Camilla’s eye-catching and highly debated tiara that took centre stage – the Burmese Ruby and diamond tiara, famously worn by the late Queen Elizabeth and estimated to be worth around £7 million, reports the Express.

King Charles’s wife honoured her guests by wearing their national colours, white and red, while also paying homage to the beloved late monarch.

Camilla previously wore the tiara in 2023 during the South Korean State Banquet at Buckingham Palace. The headpiece has been labelled as one of the most controversial pieces the late Queen wore, both for its design and its symbolism.

Elizabeth commissioned the House of Garrard in 1973 to create the Burmese Ruby tiara with gems she received as a wedding gift from the people of Burma.

The tiara dazzles with a whopping 96 rubies and an array of diamonds, some plucked from the now-dismantled Nizam of Hyderabad tiaraa transformation that raised eyebrows among Royal aficionados.

Gifted to Elizabeth as nuptial bling by the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad himself, the original Nizam of Hyderabad Tiara was always an eye-catcher, winning the hearts of those who closely follow Royal jewellery collections, making its deconstruction a subject of heated debate.

Superstition plays a role tooit’s thought the Burmese presented Elizabeth with 96 rubies because they’re associated with protection against maladies. According to local belief, there are 96 common afflictions, so the gifting of these gemstones implies safeguarding the then-Queen’s well-being.

2019 revived chatter about the famed headpiece when Elizabeth donned it for a UK state dinner hosting none other than ex-US President Donald Trump, sparking speculation if she was making a subtle dig by choosing a tiara linked to repelling harm.

Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone jewellers spoke of the tiaras estimated worth: “The beautiful tiara is not only sentimental, but it’s also very valuable, as Burmese rubies are extremely precious and rare.

“The tiara’s jewels are set in a series of rose motifs inspired by the Tudor Rose, which pay homage to British Heritage. Considering the number of rubies and diamonds featured in this piece, we estimate it has a staggering value of around £7,000,000.”

The state banquet welcomed the Japanese guests as they rubbed shoulders with British royalty, including the King and Queen, the Prince of Wales, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Buckingham Palace revealed that the banquet boasted a sumptuous three-course meal featuring high-quality British ingredients, including langoustines, turbot, and a delightful peach sorbet.

Prince Harry painfully admitted he didn’t cry when he was told of his mother Princess Diana’s death.

The 36-year-old, who was given the unofficial title of the People’s Princess, passed away in August 1997 following a terrifying car crash in Paris.

The crash happened early in the morning on August 31, and Diana was pronounced dead at around 4am, with her passing confirmed by the then Foreign Secretary Robin Cook. Harry recalled the moment he and big brother Prince William were told about their mother’s unexpected death in his memoir Spare, and revealed their father Charles struggled to deliver the news while at the royal residence in Balmoral.

However, the young prince confessed he didn’t cry when his father told him of Diana’s death, and was left feeling emotionless as Charles failed to hug him or William. “What I do remember with startling clarity is that I didn’t cry. Not one tear. Pa didn’t hug me. He wasn’t great at showing emotions under normal circumstances, how could he be expected to show them in such a crisis? But his hand did fall once more on my knee and he said: ‘Its going to be OK,’” Harry wrote.

Looking back on the moment, Harry revealed that his father’s words were “so very untrue”, and said that Charles had told William, who was just 15, about Diana’s death first, and then sought out Harry to deliver the tragic and heartbreaking news. He described the moment he found out in painful detail, as he admitted he didn’t move from his bed for what seemed like hours. After Charles told him Diana had died, he “didn’t get up, I didn’t bathe, didn’t pee,” Harry recalled, and said he didn’t even call for his big brother to come and console him.

In an interview last year, the Duke of Sussex revealed he and William were unable to show emotion as they met with the crowds outside Kensington Palace the the days after Diana’s death. He told ITV’s Tom Bradby he had cried when his mother was buried, but did not cry again. “I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail (in Spare) about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt, and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace,” he explained.

“There were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling… And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn’t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away,” Harry sadly recalled.

Meghan Marke’s revelation of how she pleaded to Buckingham Palace for help regarding her mental health during her infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021 has gone viral on social media.

The Duchess of Sussex opened up about the impact certain negative stories in the media had on her mental health with claims the Palace rejected her pleas, while she also alleged about how she was “silenced” by the institution.

In the viral clip, a segment from the interview shows Meghan claiming how the Palace refused to help her with negative stories in the press, saying: “I did anything they told me to do – of course I did because it was also through the lens of, ‘And we’ll protect you.’”

She added: “So, even as things started to roll out in the media that I didn’t see – but my friends would call me and say, ‘Meg, this is really bad’—because I didn’t see it, I’d go, ‘Don’t worry. I’m being protected.’”

The segment followed Oprah’s question to Meghan about whether she had been “silenced” during her time working for the Royal Family.

She asked: “Were you silent? Or were you silenced? with Meghan replying “The latter”.

Oprah said: “So, how does that work? Were you told by the comms people or the – I don’t know – the institution, were you told to keep silent? Were you told to say nothing?”

The Duchess of Sussex said: “Everyone from my world was given very clear directive from the moment the world knew Harry and I were dating to always say ‘No comment.’”

Another one of the interview segments was shown in the viral clip, this time with Meghan talking about how she was refused help regarding her mental health during her time as a working royal.

Meghan said in the clip: “It was all happening just because I was breathing. I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help.

Prince Harry’s ongoing troubled relationship with his father the King and brother Prince William is well known – but the relationship between wife Meghan Markle and her father is also strained.

The Duchess of Sussex and her father, Thomas Markle, has been estranged from his daughter since 2018 and there has reportedly been no contact since.

Mr Markle has never met his daughter’s husband.

The 79-year-old, who turns 80 in July, has also never met his two grandchildren – five-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet.

The retired lighting director now lives in Mexico, just 250 miles from his daughter’s home in California, and said he is baffled by this.

Speaking to the Mail Online, he said: ” When I reflect back on my life, as you do when you are approaching 80, that’s one of the questions I cannot find an answer for

“Why didn’t Harry ever come to meet me? He has the resources to fly around the world – and does – but why didn’t he come to see me, particularly when people in the royal household like Jason Knauf [Harry and Meghan’s former communications secretary] were urging him to do so?

“That has never made sense to me.”

Mr Markle, who has previously given a number of interviews to the press about his relationship with his daughter, said he felt empathy for King Charles, who has rarely seen Harry’s children since his younger son moved to the US.

He told the Mail: “He [The King] is going through cancer treatment and I’m not in the best of health. I’m not afraid of dying. It is what it is.

“I have so many questions I’d like to ask Meghan and Harry. The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly?”

Meghan Markle’s family has given up all hope they might be able to reconcile with the Duchess of Sussex, a commentator has claimed.

The Duchess hasn’t seen her father in person since before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018. Thomas Markle has appealed to his youngest daughter to speak to him and allow him to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

However, Mr Markle and his eldest children, Thomas Markle Jr and Samantha Markle, have repeatedly spoken to the press about their history with Meghan – accusing her of not caring about them or their health.

He has since admitted he has give up hopes of ever burying the hatchet with Meghan.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told TalkTV: “I really feel like Meghan Markle considers her father long gone. I don’t think reconciliation is even on her agenda whatsoever.

“The reality is Meghan was always going to be ashamed and embarrassed of her family. And she was always going to hide them from the press, she did not want her half-brother and half-sister at her wedding. I think they were an embarrassment to her.”

It has been inspiring to see how King Charles, a workaholic by nature, who is also battling cancer, has carried out so many royal engagements recently, writes royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

A selfie, which will become iconic, was taken by one of the world’s most successful artists, Taylor Swift, on her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium.

It featured Prince William, George, Charlotte and her American footballer boyfriend Travis Kelce. It has, predictably, gone viral.

She posted it online with the message “Happy Bday, M8! London shows are off to a splendid start””, M8 is text-speak for “mate”. There was no better way to celebrate William’s 42nd birthday.

He had earlier been captured on social media dancing to her irresistibly catchy songs, this is surely proof that he is a Swiftie, like many millions of others worldwide!

The photograph taken by Catherine to celebrate his birthday was proof of her skill as a photographer. It showed William and all three of their children jumping over a sand dune on a Norfolk beach.

There is an exhilarating informality about it, their mid-air exuberance symbolises the freedom William was always determined to give to his family.

A week earlier, a photograph of the same group, unusually taken from behind on the same beach, had commemorated Father’s Day. It also contained the first publicly released message from George, Charlotte and Louis on social media to their father, which delighted fans and was a novel touch.

As President of the Football Association, William has been attending matches, sometimes taking George, who is now 10, which has also been popular.

These are morale boosting activities at a truly stressful and difficult time as Catherine undergoes preventative chemotherapy in her battle against cancer. It was particularly good to see Michael and Carole Middleton at Royal Ascot, their first public sighting since her cancer diagnosis and undoubtedly the unsung heroes helping her in her battle against this malign disease.

It has been inspiring to see how King Charles, a workaholic by nature, who is also battling cancer, has carried out so many royal engagements recently including Cartier Queen’s Cup polo, the Garter Ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor as well as attending four days of Royal Ascot, this magnificently organised event was blessed with perfect weather throughout. A busy Royal Week in Scotland is planned too in early July.

This period will, above all, be remembered for the appearance of Catherine at Trooping the Colour, which celebrates the sovereign’s birthday. It had been expected climactically, on the Buckingham Palace Balcony, but, in a most welcome surprise, she was also able to view the ceremony from an office in Horse Guards, wearing a mesmerizingly gorgeous outfit.

It was an appearance to remember, especially as, in a moving statement released the day before, she described how she was affected by chemotherapy. She and King Charles have taken every opportunity to connect with fellow sufferers and no one can do this more effectively than members of the British royal family.

Catherine hopes to attend some events in the summer. Hopefully, as she is famously keen on tennis, and is Patron of the All England Club, she will appear during the Wimbledon fortnight.

The State visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan, postponed because of Covid, has begun with the customary magnificent ceremonial this week, both are Oxford-educated Anglophiles and this is greatly to be welcomed. However, the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which takes place in Samoa this year in October, was to have been followed by the King and Queen touring the Antipodes and Fiji. Already there have been reports that this will be too taxing and that the potentially exhausting itinerary is being rearranged.

We have no idea when Wiliam and Catherine will be able to tour abroad next. Their next tour will, when it happens, be a major event.

It was also a positive move for the King to appoint David Beckham as an Ambassador for the King’s Foundation, which focuses on promoting community harmony. Beckham, both in his sporting career and in his charity work, is a unique national figure. Their meeting caused much comment as it took place during the period Harry was in London for the St Paul’s Service to commemorate ten years of the Invictus Games, which is his creation. What was extraordinary was that, for whatever reason, father and son did not meet.

Though they continue to attract enormous press attention and went on what was termed a faux-royal tour of Nigeria, the Sussexes rift with the royal family appears to be as deep as ever. Their work for Netflix and Meghan’s lifestyle brand are currently the focus of their attention.

A good deal of press speculation surrounds the King’s relationship with the disgraced Duke of York. However, he has a 75-year lease on Royal Lodge, where he and his devoted ex-wife Sarah Ferguson currently live, and is reportedly resisting pressure from the monarch to relocate to somewhere smaller. I doubt he will do so willingly, his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie might also be involved. However, he remains without a role and without a future.

This is a time of unprecedented crisis with the King and Princess of Wales seriously ill and Princess Anne, one of the most popular and hardest working members of the royal family, has been admitted to hospital with minor injuries and concussion, though she is expected to make a swift recovery. All this demonstrates that the idea of a “slimmed down monarchy” is most unwise, as she recently pointed out with her customary forcefulness.

The recent mixture of the ceremonial and the informal have given us some unforgettable royal memories and images. The royals have also been helping others, despite their afflictions. The world is watching and wishes them well.

Meghan’s BUSINESS fail, Nigerian BOOED Sussex after LIED 43%, Harry MISSED at Invictus

Meghan Markle probably suspected she wouldn’t gain anything by accompanying Prince Harry to London this week for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games, before traveling with him to Nigeria, where she certainly found a much more hospitable welcome on Friday, with even the usually critical Daily Mail saying the couple took “Nigeria by storm.”

On Thursday, the British media made it clear that Harry was snubbed by his own father, King Charles III, and the rest of the British royal family. Charles, still undergoing treatment for cancer, had other “priorities” this week, including a garden party at Buckingham Palace, and wasn’t able to make time to see his younger son, Harry’s spokesperson revealed in a somewhat pointed statement.

Speculation also was rampant that Meghan, who has become pretty unpopular the U.K., wanted to avoid the possibility of being booed outside St. Paul’s Cathedral Wednesday, where the Invictus Games celebration was held.

But that doesn’t mean that the American Duchess of Sussex avoided the U.K. altogether on her trip from California to Nigeria. The Daily Mail reported that Meghan flew into Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles, meeting up with her husband at the airport’s VIP Windsor Suite Thursday evening. From there, the couple boarded a British Airways overnight flight to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

When the Sussexes arrived in Nigeria just before 5 a.m. Friday, they were welcomed by Nigerian officials, as Daily Mail photos show. The couple turned up later Friday for the first stop in their three-day visit to the West African nation: a mental health summit at the Lightway Academy, a school in Abuja that provides critical health and education services.

At the school, Meghan and Harry received a rapturous welcome, which may have taken away the sting that Harry felt by the king’s “snub” in London. The fact that the king couldn’t find 15 minutes to see Harry on Wednesday, when his son was but two miles away at St. Paul’s Cathedral, is an indication that “the palace gates remain firmly closed” to both the duke and his wife, author Richard Kay wrote in the Daily Mail.

Still, Harry found a crowd of enthusiastic supporters outside St. Paul’s on Wednesday and went up to them to shake hands, TMZ reported. He also told a BBC correspondent at another Invictus-related event in London that it was “great” to be back in his home country.

Nigeria was very excited about bringing the globally famous couple to their country. Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria at the invitation of the country’s Defense Ministry, ostensibly to promote the Invictus Games, which offers wounded veterans the challenge of competing in an international sporting event, similar to the Paralympics.

The UK will most never see Megan Markle again says Royal Expert. Here’s the reason why.

The UK will most never see Megan Markle again says Royal Expert. Here’s the reason why.

Meghan Markle’s potential return to the UK appears increasingly unlikely, disappointing fans who had hoped to see her alongside Prince Harry at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London.

Since their departure from the Royal Family in 2020, Meghan has made few trips back to the UK. One memorable occasion was for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. However, during this visit, she and Harry faced a chilly reception, reportedly encountering booing from crowds as they left St Paul’s Cathedral after a national service of thanksgiving.

The absence of Meghan during Harry’s subsequent visit for King Charles’ coronation in May 2023 added to the ongoing speculation. According to American news presenter Megyn Kelly, Meghan’s decision not to accompany Harry may have been influenced by concerns about facing public scrutiny and potential backlash once more.

Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, a property gifted to them by the Queen, Harry and Meghan no longer have a home in the UK. This eviction, served by King Charles in January of the previous year, led to the couple returning the keys in June 2023 and relocating their belongings to their new residence in California.

Reports suggest that any future stays at royal residences would necessitate a private agreement with the King, underscoring the complexities of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the UK and the Royal Family.

Meghan didn’t join the Prince on his last trip to England on May 8th for the Invictus Games, which Harry holds very dear. Instead she went to Nigeria on an official trip, something that angered the Royal Family very much.

Well the Duchess will maybe even go to England, but not on official visits, not as a Royal, she doesn’t want to add any value to that family. SHE IS DONE WITH THE UK.

Meghan Markle will ‘no doubt’ overtake Kate Middleton in popularity

Rumours have been circulating that Meghan Markle is set to make a big return to Instagram, with one expert suggesting she could overtake Kate Middleton in terms of popularity

Meghan Markle has faced a tough few months recently, but things could be about to change for the Duchess of Sussex.

Speculation has been mounting that Meghan is set to return to Instagram and relaunch her popular blog The Tig, with one PR expert suggesting she could overtake her sister-in-law Kate Middleton when it comes to popularity. A recent survey showed Kate and her husband Prince William way out in front in terms of popularity among the public.

However, PR to the stars Mayah Riaz believes this will soon change. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: “It’s no doubt when Meghan re-joins Instagram she will overtake Kate in terms of popularity.

“Kate’s Instagram is curated with huge precision. There are things which Kate isn’t able to post.”

Kate Middleton seems to have a carefully curated Instagram.

Meghan Markle could rival her sister-in-law with a social media return.

Mayah pointed out how it’s likely Kate has staff posting to social media on her behalf. The PR expert added: “Therefore, it paints a picture perfect life which the Royal Family are keen to portray.”

Meghan stepped down from the Royal Family three years ago, before moving to America with her husband Prince Harry. Mayah said this will allow Meghan to “post what she wishes”.

“She wont have to run it by anyone for approval before posting it,” Mayah explained. Speaking about what we could expect from Meghan’s Instagram, she added: “We can see all aspects of Meghan and her family life.”

Mayah said Meghan is likely to grab widespread media attention with her Instagram account. She told us: “We don’t often see Kate’s Instagram posts making headlines. However, Meghan’s life on Instagram will lead to headlines. We can also expect to hear news of projects announced first on her Instagram.”

Meghan and Harry were recently spotted dancing the night away at Beyoncé’s concert in California. Mayah said: “We have seen footage of Meghan dancing at Beyoncé’s concert as well as public display of affection with Harry. We would never see Kate and William like this.

“This is why there will be day and night difference between Meghan and Kate’s Instagram. Let’s not forget, people who love to hate Meghan will bizarrely still follow Meghan’s Instagram.”

However, she warned Meghan could be targeted by online trolls. “We are more likely to believe that Meghan herself will be posting on her Instagram.” This will lead to an explosion of followers very quickly when it’s confirmed that @meghan is her account.

“Along with the explosion of following, I fear that a lot of it will be trolling. We have seen the amount of hate directed her way on Twitter (X) and sadly, I think that will follow on Instagram too.”

Harry and Meghan’s lᴀst £2.5m asset ɪn the UK is gone

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a home in the United Kingdom which was worth £2.5m – but the couple had to give it up, reports suggest.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a two-year lease on a property in the Cotswolds.

Harry and Meghan are believed to have signed the lease shortly before they walked down the aisle in May 2018.

After the Sussexes got wed, the couple moved into Frogmore Cottage after renovating the property in Windsor.

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's PDA Was Against Royal Protocol
But while the Sussexes waited for renovations to be carried out and completed, they are said to have resided in the Oxfordshire property, which was estimated to be worth more than £2.5m in 2018.

The Grade II-listed house comprises of three primary structures, with those being the main farmhouse, a separate two-bedroom cottage for staff and guests, and a converted barn that boasts not one but two kitchens, one on each of its two floors. Meanwhile, the main farmhouse consists of four bedrooms.
