Princess of Wales Back To Work? Kate Middleton Unveils New Mental Health Project Despite Ongoing Cancer Battle

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has provided a significant update on her work and advocacies amid her ongoing cancer treatment.

In a bid to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, Middleton reaffirmed her commitment to her projects by highlighting the unique mental health challenges faced by farmers in Britain.

In a post on the official Prince and Princess of Wales social media accounts, Middleton announced the release of a short film that sheds light on the mental health struggles that farmers encounter daily due to the isolation and pressures associated with their work.

“This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we’ve brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film,” the post read. The full video is now available on YouTube.

This project marks Middleton’s first official endeavor since she confirmed her cancer diagnosis on March 22 through a video, as noted by GB News. The Princess of Wales has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy following an abdominal surgery that revealed cancerous cells earlier this year. The type of cancer she is receiving treatment for has not been disclosed.

Despite her ongoing recovery, Middleton has remained dedicated to her involvement in mental health initiatives. This latest project, which focuses on the mental well-being of farmers, is part of a broader effort by Prince William and Middleton to destigmatize mental health issues and ensure that support is accessible to those in need.

The film, produced under the guidance of the royal couple, is believed to have been in development before Middleton’s health deteriorated. It features Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and Farmer Will, who spent a day together on Stables’ farm in Hereford, discussing mental health in the farming community, finding support, and the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy.

Last September, the Waleses met Stables at his farm, and subsequently, the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy was launched. Work between the duchy and Stables continues in a bid to support farmers across the country.

Although Middleton has not been seen in public since March, when she was spotted on a trip to the Windsor Farm Shop with Prince William, her husband has been vocal about her dedication to mental health initiatives. During an April visit to the St Michael’s Church of England High School in Rowley Regis, Sandwell, Prince William noted that Middleton would have attended recent events if not for her ongoing treatment, as reported by GEO TV.

Last week, during a visit to the Isles of Scilly, Prince William shared that Middleton was “doing well” in her recovery process. However, no timescale has been given regarding her full recovery or return to official royal duties.
