Former Love Island star and professional boxer Tommy Fury joined This Morning hosts Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley on Thursday morning to promote his new book

Tommy Fury refused to speak about the real reason behind his split from Molly-Mae Hague in an awkward This Morning interview on the release day of his memoir.

The former Love Island star, 25, appeared on the ITV programme to promote his new book, titled Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life as a FuryTommy has released the book just two months after his shock split from Molly-Mae and has added a chapter dedicated to the reason behind their split.

While on the show, Tommy was asked by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about why he and Molly-Mae decided to call it quits on their love story after five years. Their split came just one year after Tommy got down on one knee and popped the question to the blonde bombshell in an incredibly romantic proposal.

The couple, who share daughter Bambi together after welcoming her in January 2023, have maintained that she is their main priority going forward as they continue to navigate co-parenting following their breakup.

Appearing on This Morning, Tommy was asked about the cheating allegations which swarmed him after his split with Molly-Mae. Tommy was accused of cheating on the social media powerhouse with a Danish girl while on a lads holiday in Macedonia.

The professional boxer, who is the younger brother of Tyson Fury, has vehemently denied the claims and even dedicated a chapter in his book to setting the record straight. However, when grilled by This Morning hosts Ben and Cat, Tommy awkwardly swerved any questions about the cheating allegations.

He insisted that the reason behind the split is sacred between him and Molly-Mae, and it’s something which he will not be opening up about on live TV. When asked by Ben why he felt comfortable to address it in his book and not on TV, Tommy said that he felt like he could share his feelings freely in writing, but that he wasn’t going to speak about it again.

Tommy told Ben: “I’m going to let us deal with that in private and leave that stuff to me and Molly out of respect. I’m gonna leave all that stuff for me and Molly to work through.”

“What I did is I talked about all my feelings in the book, I felt free in the book to write about it. But the rest of it is between us,” he added.

Tommy has continued to deny the allegations, insisting that the truth will one day come out about the sad reason they had to go their separate ways. When announcing their split back in August, Tommy wrote: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly and I have decided to end our relationship. The past five years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad.

“Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our families’ privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”

After their split announcement was released, reports came out that Tommy ‘cheated’ on his fiancée with ‘multiple women’. After hours of infidelity rumours hitting the headlines, Tommy finally responded to the claims with a furious denial.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, a spokesperson for Tommy furiously denied the claims. They said: “Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers.”

The dad-of-one was said to have been “distraught” as he knows the allegations couldn’t be further from the truth.
