Bekcham laughed when asked about Ollie Palmer – who is said to be his clone, “He’s not on the same level.”

Wrexham star Ollie Palmer was compared to style icon David Beckham and has been backed to earn up to £250,000 by trying his luck in modelling.

Since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took charge of the club in November 2020, the Welsh outfit has been in the spotlight and their on-field successes,

including securing successive promotions to reach League One ahead of the 2024-25 season, have opened doors for commercial opportunity for the players off the field.

One such player basking in newfound fame is Palmer who is set for a cameo appearance in the upcoming Marvel film, “Deadpool & Wolverine” with his club’s co-owner at the helm.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede attributes the players’ enhanced visibility and earning potential to the influence of the A-list owners and the popularity of the docuseries “Welcome To Wrexham.”

Nick told The Sun: “Ryan and Rob have made a massive impact, all eyeballs have been on the club because of them and their huge TV show.

It’s enabled them to give a voice to the players but also gifted them a bigger following, meaning players can get other big opportunities. We have seen Ollie get a cameo or an extra role in the new Marvel film but that’s just the beginning. Some of the standout stars will make a lot of money from endorsements and deals.”

From securing lucrative endorsement deals to venturing into the world of modelling, players are poised to leverage their celebrity status for financial gain. Palmer’s cameo in a major Hollywood production and the launch of his own brand, WXM Clothing, underscore the vast opportunities that lie beyond the football pitch for Wrexham’s rising stars.

Crucially, Reynolds and McElhenney’s endorsement of WXM Clothing on social media platforms, boasting a collective following of nearly 54 million, amplifies Palmer’s visibility and sets the stage for further commercial success.

Nick believes that Palmer’s trajectory mirrors that of iconic figures like Beckham and added: “Having the guys wearing Ollie’s actual brand is a great way of endorsing what he does and will definitely help him to build his brand. He is one of the players who ticks every box and is a star in the making, whether he carries on in Hollywood, who knows, but I suspect he will be endorsing lots of different things. I can see him doing modelling and it could lead to him becoming a bit like David Beckham.”

Palmer’s multifaceted talents and growing celebrity status position him as a potential trailblazer in the realm of football and entertainment. With endorsements, modelling contracts, and other opportunities on the horizon, Nick opined that the player could “up to £250,000” as he grows substantially in the fashion market.

“Ollie is someone brands are going to want to jump on now while his star is on the rise because he will make money for them and will be loyal to them. But also he will make a lot of money for himself,” he said.

“I could see someone like Ollie, who is a rugged, sexy man, doing an aftershave or a fragrance launch, which could demand good fees of around £100,000 up to £250,000 as he becomes a bigger star.”
