Newly single Ruth Langsford was all smiles as she reunited with her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Anton Du Beke as she continues to enjoy her time off from Loose Women

Newly-single Ruth Langsford is making the most of her time off, with the Loose Women anchor catching up with her old friend Anton Du Beke on Thursday night.

The broadcaster, who recently split from husband Eamonn Holmes, was all smiles as she cosied up to her one-time Strictly Come Dancing partner on Instagram – making a plea to the dancer as she shared the snap with fans.

Anton is currently busy gracing the stage with former Strictly professional Giovanni Pernice in their production ‘Anton and Giovanni Together’. As the duo performed in Guildford on Thursday night, Ruth was on hand to watch her old pal wow an audience.

“Great night watching @mrantondubeke and @giovannipernice,” Ruth gushed as she shared a video of the show on her Instagram Stories. “Go and see it if you can. Fantastic dancers. Fantastic singers. Fantastic band.

After the show, Ruth snuck backstage to give Anton a cuddle and make a plea. Ruth, who was partnered with Anton for the 15th series of Strictly back in 2017, captioned the sweet reunion snap of herself and the performer: “Thanks for inviting me Partner. @mrantondubeke. If one of the dancers needs a day off you know where I am.”

Ruth is currently taking a break from our screens following her shock split from husband Eamonn. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ruth would enjoy a holiday away from her Loose Women duties as she navigates life a single woman. The star has reportedly been left feeling “hurt” after finding out that her estranged husband Eamonn has been seeking comfort in the company of another woman, with whom he’s had several outings.

It’s understood that Ruth was completely unaware of their excursions together until recently, and this revelation has played a significant role in their decision to end their marriage. Additionally, she’s been “deeply upset” by insinuations that she’s abandoned her marriage due to Eamonn’s health issues.

Sources close to the couple are saying there’s “no way back” for their relationship, which seems destined for divorce. Ruth, aged 64, will extend her absence through June but is gearing up to return to the ITV programme in July. She last appeared on our screens in May.

A friend told the Mirror earlier this month: “Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman but she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does. She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.” A spokesperson for Ruth Langsford said: “Ruth had holiday time booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She’s looking forward to returning to the show in due course.”
