Loose Women star Judi Love has set social media ablaze with speculation after her chilly reaction to the fact Lorraine Kelly won the 2024 TV BAFTA Special Award
Loose Women star Judi Love raised eyebrows when she appeared to roll her eyes over Lorraine Kelly winning a prestigious TV BAFTA award.
Acting and presenting talent from major shows including Happy Valley, I’m A Celebrity and Succession were up for awards – with the change of winning statuettes and the admiration and congratulations of their peers. However, some fans have been left wondering if there is beef between ITV stars Judi and Lorraine as cameras cut to the Loose Women star as the early morning TV host made an acceptance speech after being crowned the winner of the BAFTA Special Award.
The gong was awarded to her for her outstanding contribution to the television industry – as she has been on screens for four decades as of this year. Lorraine was handed her award by Brian Cox – and was cheered on by the theatre full of stars.

As she bowed out of her acceptance speech, Lorraine cheerfully quipped: “I’m on the telly tomorrow, but I’m going to celebrate tonight. Thank you so much!” Cameras then showed I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec smiling manically while clapping away. Then The Sixth Commandment star Anne Reid was shown politely clapping along.
But as cameras moved to Judi, she could be seen looking far from impressed, was seemingly refusing to applaud, and rolling her eyes. The moment was seized upon by those watching the awards show from home – sparking a flurry of amused commentary.
One fan on X wrote: “Judi Love’s reaction to Lorraine’s award” – alongside two skull emoji’s implying they were ‘dying’ over the response. Another gasped online: “I’m with Judi.” While some suggested Judi’s reaction was down to Lorraine’s well known ‘part time’ approach to appearing on her own daily show.
One fan joked: “Judi knows Lorraine not coming back to work this Friday haha.” But others suggested it was a case of sour grapes, with one fan commenting: “Why are the #loosewomen so bitter.”

Taking to Instagram after the ceremony, Judi expressed her delight at being nominated for an award. Her show, Loose Women, was nominated alongside Lorraine for the Best Daytime award – but both lost out to winner the BBC’s Scam Interceptors.
Sharing snaps from the red carpet, the TV star wrote: “What a beautiful day! It’s been a honour to be nominated for best daytime show @bafta I want to thank the amazing production team @loosewomen that are constantly evolving the show and setting the pace for new content, diverse stories and topics that reflect the audience!! Even more fantastic that the black history month special episode was nominated with @realandypeters @charlenewhite @babatundecomedian.”
