Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s dreams of becoming a power couple have been left in tatters as they are now ‘separating’ their paths, according to a Royal expert
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s aspirations of becoming a power couple in America seem to be falling apart, according to one Royal expert. Richard Eden, Daily Mail Diary editor, suggested on the Palace Confidential podcast that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be diverging in their strategies.
He speculated that the initial branding of the Sussexes as a “power couple” on a par with the Clooneys or even the Obamas hasn’t really gone to plan.
He said: “When they recorded their first podcast, it was very much them together. It was the pilot episode and that was going to be the pattern: them together. We saw that again on the Netflix series, but for whatever reason whether it’s Megan or it’s Harry they’ve decided that’s not the way to go.

It seems the pair are focusing on fulfilling their lucrative Netflix deal with separate, and vastly different projects. Meghan has been filming a cooking and lifestyle show, set to air next year, while Harry has created a Netflix programme about polo.
Their dream of being an A-list power couple “lies in tatters,” says Richard, highlighting that Meghan did not accompany her husband on his recent trip to New York City. Royal author and broadcaster Victoria Murphy concurred, suggesting that while Meghan appears eager to forge ahead with business ventures, Harry seems to be nostalgically reflecting on his Royal past.
She stated: “What Harry seems to be doing is focusing on philanthropy. His most successful projects, the ones that resonate the most with people are the ones that were set up when he was a working royal so the Invictus games his patronage of Wellchild for example.”

In contrast, Victoria noted that “Meghan seems to be more business-focused now”. The Duchess has been dedicating a significant amount of time to her American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand, which has encountered some last-minute hitches due to her choice of name, echoing the couple’s brief stint as “Sussex Royal”.
Richard’s co-worker Charlotte Griffiths shared that her Royal insiders informed her that Harry was “looking backwards to the peak Harry era”, a time when his popularity soared due to philanthropic endeavours like the Sentebale charity and the Invictus games.
She expressed: “We loved him then. He was seen holding African children in his arms, opening hospitals and schools, raising millions and millions for Africa. That was ‘Peak Harry,’ and I think he’s going through a period of reflection at the moment.”
This desire to revisit his triumphs will see him returning to the UK this week as the guest of honour at the annual WellChild awards, while Meghan stays back in Montecito.
