A PR expert has urged King Charles to keep Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie at a distance from official royal duties, suggesting that doing otherwise could have negative consequences.  King Charles should not offer Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie more prominent roles in official duties because it could stir up talks about a royal return for Prince Andrew, a PR expert has claimed.

The royal family has been suffering from a shortage of working members since the beginning of 2024 after King Charles and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

While the King has officially returned to public duties after a short break for treatment, the royal family only has a few working royals left to juggle the workload, including Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

However, despite experts calling on the York princesses to take on more duties in the wake of the current shortage, one PR expert suggested otherwise, saying such a move could have negative consequences. If Beatrice and Eugenie become more involved in official duties, it is likely to spark further discussions, said Lena Rera, business and PR expert and founder of Dauntless PR, to GB News. The expert added that making Beatrice and Eugenie more prominent members of the royal family could lead to Prince Andrew returning to his royal duties.

“Some could interpret this as King Charles offering his brother a way to return to life as a member of the royal family,” she said. The Duke of York was forced to step down as a member of the royal family in 2019 due to his ties to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He was subsequently stripped of his honorary military titles in 2022.

It comes as a new royal popularity poll included the York sisters for the first time this year in its tracker. Both Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s children are viewed favorably by 37% of Britons, while a quarter (24-25%) have a negative view of them, according to the latest YouGov poll. Andrew remains the least popular royal, with just 6% having a positive opinion of him, while nearly 9 in 10 (86%) view him unfavorably.
