Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have visited the family of a teacher in Texas who was killed during a shooting in Texas.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the sister of Irma Garcia and became emotional as they led the celebrations.

At one point, Meghan said “Is everyone singing too?” after she realised she was singing alone.

The clip was shared online by user @fuhknjo, who said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle singing happy birthday to my mom.”

However, people in the replies pointed out that the focus seemed to be on Meghan rather than Irma’s sister.

One user replied: “I’m confused – is the focus supposed to be on Meghan or the mom?”

Another added: “Shouldn’t the camera’s focus/attention be on the birthday girl instead of old Megs? That’s the way it usually works.”

Other users on X praised the Duchess for giving the family a special moment.

A user said: “So happy that Harry and Meghan brought joy in your family and made your mum smile so much. Diana’s love and charisma and legacy shines so much in them.”

Another added: Thank you so much for sharing this really lovely moment. Happy birthday to your mom, although I know there is pain in her heart. May you find healing in all those who surround you.”

Meghan and Harry have supported the family since 2022 after Irma was killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

John Martinez, Irma’s nephew, described how Meghan called the family to offer her support.

He said: “The Dutchess, she’s so sweet and lovely, she really went out of her way to check on the family, it means so much.

“They’re such a beautiful couple and I’m so blessed – so glad they came to check up on the family.

“Can’t believe how loving and supportive they are especially to my amazing cousins.

“Meghan Markle singing my mom Happy Birthday was the cutest, most adorable thing ever – she even bought her a cake.”
