Spice Girl fans have been whipped up into a frenzy over rumours that a full-blown reunion is on the cards to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
But Victoria Beckham has poured water on the flames fanned by friend Mel B, revealing there will be no reunion tour or comeback performance – just a private meal to ‘reminisce.’
The pop star-turned-fashion designer, 49, has said there will categorically not be a musical reunion to celebrate the anniversary of their formation in 1994, much to fans’ disappointment.
‘We do have a group chat, I do speak to all the girls. It would be lovely for us to do something to celebrate – a dinner or a lunch – and reminisce, but yes it will not be any more than that,’ she said during an interview on Radio France.
Victoria insisted that her singing days are firmly behind her and that she is now focused solely on her fashion and beauty empire.

‘I’m so proud of what I achieved with the Spice Girls that now, for me, it’s about empowering people through fashion and beauty,’ she said.
‘There have been lots of rumours about tours and performances but that will not happen. But I’d love to celebrate with the girls in another way just me and them.’
However, her revelation is contradictory to what former bandmate Melanie Brown, 48, said last month during an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show.
When asked about a potential reunion, Mel said that something was ‘definitely’ on the cards with Victoria, Geri Horner, 51, Melanie Chisholm, 50, and Emma Bunton, 48.
‘We are wanting to do something and we are, but I can’t really tell you because I’ll get kicked out of the WhatsApp group again,’ she said.
‘We’re definitely doing something. I’m probably going to get told off! I’m in trouble now.’
Victoria, who is gearing up to celebrate her 50th birthday later this month, said she felt ‘okay’ about the milestone as she feels ‘accomplished.’
The wife of former footballer David Beckham, 48, who is mother to Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12, said she doesn’t believe her children are ‘spoiled materialistically’ despite growing up with great privilege.

‘Our children are not spoiled materialistically at all, I always tell them that I love them and we’re very affectionate as a family,’ she said.
‘We’ve always been very strict with our children, every time anybody meets one of the children they turn to me and say, “They are so nice, they were friendly, they were kind, they were respectful”, the fundamental basics.
‘That’s how I was brought up, that’s how my husband was brought up, and the children are like that.
‘They work hard, they’re happy, they’re not lazy, they don’t expect everything to just land on their lap.’
Following their appearance in recent Netflix documentary Beckham, a clip of Mrs Beckham insisting that she was brought up in a working-class household, only to be shot down by her husband who revealed she went to school in a Rolls Royce, has gone viral.
‘Turns out apparently I wasn’t from a working-class background,’ she said.

‘It’s funny, you know one of the children said to me the other day, “How many times did you practice that scene?”
‘I was like, we didn’t practice that, it happened. It was very spontaneous, everything in that documentary was spontaneous and honest and real.’
Victoria, who has 32.7m Instagram followers, said she loves the platform as she is able to show her real ‘personality’ after years of being considered ‘grumpy.’

She said: ‘I still do interviews but before social media the media painted a picture of me – I didn’t smile, I was grumpy and I’m quite the opposite, but that is the picture that the media wanted to paint.
‘The great thing about social media is you can hear from the person themselves, you can show your personality.
‘I enjoy social media, you can use it to inform people what you’re working on but then also to have fun as well.’

Mel B said that something was ‘definitely’ on the cards to celebrate their 30th anniversary but it sounds like she’s whipped everyone up into a frenzy for no reason
She said she ‘gave up worrying’ what people thought of her ‘a long time ago’ and cares less about these things as she gets ‘older.’
‘I try to be the best mum the best wife the best professional and if some people don’t like that, that’s okay. I’m not trying to please anyone other than me, my husband and my children,’ she said.
