WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has opened up about one of his biggest regrets. Ahead of his blockbuster showdown with Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury confessed to having slept with more than 500 women – regretting his actions.

Despite previously touting the health benefits of a robust sex life on Twitter in 2011 before his bout with Derek Chisora, Fury now admits he wishes he could take it all back. In an interview with Boxing News Online, Fury was brutally honest about his past actions.

“I’m a liar, a cheater, a proud, vain person,” he admitted. “Everything that’s bad I do or have done. We all make mistakes, don’t we?

“The only thing I ever regret in life is having sex before marriage. If I could erase that then my life would be practically perfect. I regret all the filth that you do with people. I must have had sex with over 500 women, more, I don’t know, I’ve lost count.”

Reflecting on his past behavior, Fury expressed disgust. He added: “But it’s pure filth and horribleness. I look at that now as pure disgusting. I’m not a religious person, but I like to help people and do good things. I’m stopping all the bad stuff.”

The 35-year-old also shared that he’s given up drinking and going out, choosing instead to spend quality time with his children: “I’ve packed in the drinking and going out. I can get up now, go and take the kids somewhere on a Saturday morning rather than being in bed till 12 o’clock.”

Fury, who has been wedded to his wife Paris since 2008 and is a father to seven children, first crossed paths with her during their teenage years. Despite his claims of having bedded over 500 women, the world champion boxer remains committed to his family.

In the ring, Fury is preparing to face off against Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world heavyweight crown. At the Grand Arrivals, a noticeably slimmer Fury made his epic entrance after the Ukrainian had arrived.

Upon laying eyes on his opponent, Usyk remarked that Fury appeared leaner than in their previous encounters. “Yeah, a little bit, a little bit, like skinny,” Usyk observed, suggesting that perhaps Fury was feeling apprehensive. Looks skinny. Who’s the middleweight now? That’s because he’s nervous. When you get nervous, you lose weight.”

Fury confessed to weighing 19 stone following his significant weight loss. His trainer, SugarHill Steward, noted that the champion is “more fit” ahead of his bout with Usyk.

“He hasn’t dropped a bunch of weight just to get down low,” Steward stated, according to Sky Sports. “It’s just weight where he can be stronger and more mobile and agile and everything else. It takes some work to get there and he’s at the point in his life where he wanted to get there. So this is where it’s at.

“It’s not like it’s a weight cut. The way he looks and the way he’s moving and the way he’s boxing, the way he’s punching, all this is because he wants to be better.”

Fury will showcase his new physique when he faces Usyk in the main event for the undisputed heavyweight fight in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 18.
