Tyson Fury Breaks Down Why He’s The Greatest Heavyweight In Boxing History, greater than Muhammad Ali

Tyson Fury believes he’s the greatest heavyweight in the history of boxing and explained why after defeating Dillian Whyte.

‘The Gypsy King’ retained his WBC heavyweight crown in front of a packed Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening with a sixth round knockout.

It takes Fury’s record to 32 wins, one draw and zero losses and he made a bold statement in his post-fight press conference.

“I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been, there ain’t ever been one who could beat me,” he declared before those in the press room applauded.

The 33-year-old continued: “I’m not just being confident. Six foot nine frame, 270 pound weight, can move like a middleweight, can hit like a thunderstorm and can take a punch like anybody else.

“I’ve got balls like King Kong, a heart of a lion, the mindset of the Wizard Oz, it is what it is.”

Fury dominated Whyte throughout and landed a sick uppercut that left ‘The Body Snatcher’ unable to continue.

He’d then announce his retirement from in-ring competition shortly after, meaning he joins Rocky Marciano as one of the only heavyweight legends to retire undefeated.

Of course it remains to be seen if Fury does indeed step away from the ring.

“You know I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder three fight that would be it and I meant it. It was a great trilogy but I meant that,” Fury admitted.

“I got offered to fight at Wembley, at home, and I believe I owed it to the fans, every person in the UK to fight at Wembley. I think this is it, this might be the final curtain for ‘The Gypsy King’. What a way to go out.”

Paris thinks the only thing that may tempt Fury back is the opportunity to unify the division’s top titles and could be seen mouthing “No chance” during his speech.

She said: “For Tyson to keep boxing, it just seems for one reason and I know in my heart, I think the only reason that Tyson will come back is for the unification fight.”

Oleksandr Usyk currently holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles after defeating Anthony Joshua in September.

Fury also teased facing MMA star Francis Ngannou.

The UFC heavyweight champion discussed a ‘hybrid fight’ that’ll be unlike anything we’ve seen before.

“It’s going to be an explosive fight when it happens,” Fury told ESPN.
