Tommy Fury offered world title shot after moving to 10-0 with KSI win

Tommy Fury has offered a world title shot less than a fortnight after his win over KSI.

Fury, brother of WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson, moved to 10-0 with a controversial unanimous decision victory in the main event of the Misfits Boxing card at the Manchester Arena.

It was Fury’s second win over a YouTube boxing personality, having beaten Jake Paul in Saudi Arabia in February.

KSI is demanding a rematch but Fury has a proposal elsewhere from a man holding gold.

IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia has called out ‘TNT’, who has fought at the same weight in his last two bouts.

Opetaia is undefeated with a record of 23-0 and says he would “happily beat the crap” out of Fury.

He told Fox Sports Australia: “You know, boxing is my job. It’s how I put food on the table. So while Tommy Fury isn’t on my radar, if he wants to fight for a world title, sure, he can come and get it.

“I’ll happily beat the crap out of him and get straight back to chasing those belts. I’ve never watched him live, no, but I’ve seen a few clips on social media. And he’s not s***.”

“The guy knows what he is doing and comes from a boxing family. But there are levels to this game, and I’m on the world champion level, fighting for world titles. He’s still got a long way to go to get there. But if he wants to have a crack, wants to come to Australia and put on a big fight, let’s do it.”

Fury had been doing a more traditional bout before switching over to the influencer world and making staggering money.

Tyson claims his younger sibling pocketed $10 million from the KSI fight after it reportedly received 1.3 million PPV buys on DAZN.

He believes Tommy has made around $25 million from his fledgling career.

Opetaia, set to be part of Fury’s camp for his pending Oleksandr Usyk unification showdown, won his title against Mairis Briedis in July, battling through a broken jaw suffered two rounds in to pick up the unanimous decision.

He made his first defence on English soil with a TKO win over Jordan Thompson at the OVO Arena last month.
