Ryan Garcia welcomes Mike Tyson into his locker room as troubled boxing star warms up with a live classical music group before his shock win over Devin Haney in Brooklyn

Ryan Garcia‘s unusual ways continued into the locker room at Barclays Center when Mike Tyson stopped by hours away from his fight with Devin Haney on Saturday night.

During the preliminary fights, DAZN’s coverage featured both Garcia and Haney’s backstage preparation as they gear up to take the ring in the headliner.

Garcia, whose bizarre social media activity has concerned fans in the buildup, added another layer to the intrigue by warming up to classical music. The Victorville, California native had a string quartet playing while he stretched and got his hands wrapped.

Shortly after, Garcia posted a video of Tyson stopping by his dressing room as the musicians scored his preparation.

‘Thank you Mike for showing,’ Garcia captioned the video in which he compliments the boxing legend and tells him he will attend Tyson’s fight against Jake Paul in July.

On the other hand, Haney was his usual calm self as he approaches another big fight when Tyson visited his camp on the opposite side of the arena.

While Garcia looked riled up with the theatrics following him to fight night, footage of The Dream backstage showed the WBC Super Lightweight champion appearing stoic and focused.

Garcia entered Saturday’s fight with a 24-1 record including, 20 knockouts.

After suffering his only loss to Gervonta Davis in April 2023, Garcia bounced back with a knockout win over Oscar Duarte in December.

On the other hand, Haney was undefeated at 31-0 with 15 finishes and coming off four consecutive big wins – two against George Kambosos Jr. in 2022 and wins over Visiliy Lomachenko and Regis Prograis in 2023.

But Garcia knocked Haney down three times and handed the WBC super lightweight champion his first loss, winning the fight by majority decision but not the title because he was over the weight limit.

Garcia’s odd behavior in public and on social media throughout the build up led to questions about how serious he was about this fight.

It sure seemed as though he didn’t devote enough time for training when he was more than 3 pounds above the 140-pound limit on Friday.

But the speed and power in his hands was too much for Haney, who was hurt right from the opening round and went down in the seventh, 10th and 11th.

Garcia won by scores of 115-109 and 114-110 on two of the judges’ cards, while the third had it 112-112.

The 25-year-olds from California fought six times as amateurs, but Haney had the stronger pro career, winning the undisputed lightweight title and then moving up to win the WBC title in his first fight at 140 pounds.
