So while Paul got the victory, it was Diaz who walks away with perhaps the funniest and most iconic moment – many hailing him a ‘legend’ for pulling off the move.

Nate Diaz put Jake Paul in the guillotine then threw his hands up. Legend! 😂 #PaulDiaz

It was the YouTuber-turned-boxer who had controlled most of the fight, staying on the outside and landing solid jabs, even dropping Diaz in the fifth round with a nasty right hand.

But as the fight progresses, it was Diaz who started dragging Paul into deep waters with his sheer stamina and durability.

And in the tenth and final round of their bout, Diaz began piling the pressure on Paul with a barrage of punches.

But when Paul closed the distance and wrapped Diaz up to avoid more punishment, the UFC fan favourite decided to grab Paul’s neck and apply a standing guillotine choke.

The referee jumped in and pulled the 38-year-old off Paul as the crowd erupted with laughter and cheers.

Diaz then threw his hands up in the air, celebrating the legendary moment.

Fans on social media were loving it too, one person tweeting: “Legend!”

While another added: “He could have slept that boy, while wearing boxing gloves. Jake better rethink that mma deal.

As one said: “Dude was trolling the whole time.”

And a fourth asked: How did he lose yet still win?”

It wasn’t the only time that Diaz’s showmanship was on display throughout the back-and-forth scrap.

Throughout the entire fight, he was constantly showboating and taunting Paul.

On a number of occasions, he even faked being hurt when Paul landed body shots – often tripping up the commentary team too.

So despite not getting his hand raised, Diaz certainly entertained the crowd and proved just why he’s one of the most loved combat sports athletes on the planet.
