Jake Paul is set to take on Nate Diaz this weekend

Jake Paul loses $1000 in boxing challenge just days before Nate Diaz fight

American YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has lost $1000 in a boxing challenge ahead of his bout against Nate Diaz.

This Saturday, Paul will be taking on former UFC star Diaz at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Paul, who was beaten by Brit Tommy Fury back in February is going up against Diaz, who is making his boxing debut after leaving the UFC in September.

Ahead of the bout, Paul has had to fork out $1000 for charity after he lost a boxing skills challenge against UFC star Bo Nickal.

The pair challenged each other on a reflex ball, which is a tennis ball tied to one’s head with a string.

It is used to test a person’s hand-eye coordination.

Nickal managed eight punches before the ball dropped, but Paul only managed six.

In the end, both Nickal and Paul agreed to pay $1000 to the American YouTube sensation’s foundation, Boxing Bullies.

Paul was then asked about his secret to success during the latest episode of Bo Gets Betr.

He said: “My dad says this and I’m going to steal this, shout out Greg Paul; ‘the road to success is always under construction so it’s always changing’ – some moments might be easier than others, some might be harder than others.

“Some days you might not be feeling great and others you might be feeling like ‘why the f*** am I under attack from the Universe?’ And so you’re always going to be constantly changing and evolving but the No.1 thing is relentlessness. When you try to do something great, people are going to f***ing rip you down.”

Paul added: “They’ll tear you apart, that just comes with the critics and that is the biggest thing. You just have to have thick skin to push through all of that and remain committed to your goal and not let any of that get in your way – easier said than done, it kills most people. So are you made for this?

“Do you want to achieve your goal more than you want to mope about the critics and all the hard work and all the things that you have to do to get to your goal? That’s something that you have to come to terms with within your own mind and inspiration is a fleeting thing, it’s not always there.”
