Francis Ngannou has worried fight fans ahead of his bout against Tyson Fury.
A video of Francis Ngannou ‘technical sparring’ ahead of his blockbuster bout against Tyson Fury has emerged online and has left fight fans stunned.
Ngannou, who has drafted in boxing legend Mike Tyson for his training camp, meets Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 28 in his first appearance since leaving the UFC.
He’ll make his boxing debut as he takes on the WBC world heavyweight champion.
But people are worried for the former UFC heavyweight king after training footage surfaced on social media.
A clip shows the 37-year-old ‘technical sparring’ with Carlos Takam, who has been in the ring with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Joe Joyce.
While it’s just a light and technical spar, fight fans couldn’t believe Ngannou’s mobility and boxing skills as they made their feelings known ahead of next month’s clash.
One X user wrote: “Takam is a unit of a man. Must be weird for him knowing he could beat Ngannou, yet it’s Ngannou that’s getting millions for facing Fury. Only in boxing hey…”
A second said: “He probably couldn’t beat a top 50 ranked boxer. Much less a top 10 ranked.”
A third joked: “I know he’s not saying it, but Carlos Takam is definitely thinking ‘Jheez, WTF, is this’.”
Someone argued: “This is a light spar. Power is power.”
Another claimed: “Dave Allen would KO him inside 2 rounds.”
Ngannou, who hasn’t fought since his victory over Ciryl Gane in January 2022, has just a few weeks left to prepare for his monstrous showdown against the ‘Gypsy King’.
How will he fare against arguably the best heavyweight boxer on the planet? Let us know.
