Fans make "rigged" claims after Jake Paul's controversial Nate Diaz knockdown

Jake Paul’s knockdown of Nate Diaz during their boxing bout has been slammed by fans all over the world.

The YouTube star turned pro boxer Paul knocked down former UFC star Diaz in the fifth round of their fight and went on to win with a unanimous decision.

Many fans questioned the legitimacy of the knockdown, with the punch only catching Diaz on the top of his head.

He also managed to climb back to his feet and beat the count.

As per The Star, one fan said: “Caught him lovely there… fair play to them they’re not even trying to hide it anymore.” A second posted: “He didn’t even touch him.”

It was branded by others as fake with a third fan saying: “There’s no f***ing way that punch knocked him down.”

The fight was Paul’s first since losing to British boxer Tommy Fury, brother of Heavyweight World Champion Tyson, back in February.

After that loss, he said the match benefited his career because it made his brand bigger.

It was his first test against a ‘real boxer’ with many criticising Paul for only facing other social media stars or retired MMA fighters.

He’s now recovered with a victory over Diaz and still has ambitions to one day become a world champion.

Paul and Diaz agreed to a rematch under MMA rules which should benefit the latter and be a real test for Paul who’s stepping out of his boxing lane.

After the fight, Paul said: “All credit to my team and I want to run it back in MMA.

“$10million (£7.8m) PFL, that’s the offer. Let’s run it back in MMA to make it fair. I won one, now it’s your chance in home territory of MMA.”
