Dillon Danis claims Logan Paul used 'illegal tactic' to beat him

Logan Paul’s ‘illegal tactic’ stopped Dillon Danis from performing a guillotine choke in their grudge match.

Paul beat Danis by disqualification after their six-round clash ended in a mass brawl at the AO Arena in Manchester.

A new angle shows exactly what caused the melee as security rushed the ring, with Danis claiming he’ll appeal the result.

The MMA fighter has since appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he revealed how much he earned and touched on Paul’s ‘illegal trick’. Check it out below:

On the bout, he said: “It didn’t feel like a fight. It felt like he was running away. Every time I tried to engage with him and tried to get in there and trade, he would run away. He was scared.

“Even Conor [McGregor] was saying it. He was running. He was on the back foot the whole time. I was trying to push forward. I wanted to fight, I wanted to clinch, I wanted to fight. I was like: ‘Let’s go’.”

Danis said his failed takedown was him “just messing around a little bit”, but denied working for a submission before revealing Paul had “vaselined his head up”.

The 30-year-old added: “I wasn’t actually trying to, but he was smart – he vaselined his head up, so I guess he knew I was trying to go for his neck.

“But at that moment, I actually wasn’t. I was just grabbing his head and he just kind of shrugged me, and the vaseline [slipped me off], and then he threw that punch [on the ground] and then I upkicked him.”

According to the British Boxing Board of Control, vaseline is allowed around the eyes or on the face, but other parts of the body is permitted.

Danis’ attempt at choking Paul was thwarted, with their contest coming to a halt moments later.
