David Beckham says he is ‘gutted’ as he shows off the devastating mess caused by Storm Henk at his family home in the Cotswolds

David Beckham confessed he is ‘gutted’ as he showed the devastation caused by Storm Henk at his family’s Cotswolds home on Wednesday.

The former footballer, 48, uploaded a photo of a large tree that had been ripped from the ground by the winds at his property on his Instagram page.

He penned: ‘Could have been worse. Still gutted’, along with a crying emoji.

David and wife Victoria, 49, who share four children, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 11, snapped up their country home for a reported £6.15 million in December 2016.

The property boasts a sauna, plunge pool, football pitch, gym, swimming pool and £50,000 BBQ tent in the grounds for entertaining.

Later in the day, David showed off his new chickens and cockerel that had been gifted to him by Victoria on Christmas Day.

The former athlete filmed the birds as he walked up to the coop while shaking a bucket of feed.

It comes after David brushed up on his hen keeping skills last week.

Posh took to Instagram on Friday to share a photo of David reading ‘keeping chickens for dummies’.

She wrote: ‘Just a little Friday night reading for @DavidBeckham’.

The book is a much needed gift for David as it provides an introduction to keeping chickens, their correct feeding regime and expert advice from the River Cottage ‘Chicken Whisperer’.

Victoria set up a hutch and hen pen for David at their Cotswolds farmhouse to add to his own beehives on the sprawling estate.

The fashion designer proudly showed off the brood of Beckham hens complete with cockerel on Instagram.

Speaking from behind the camera, Victoria showed off the henhouse in the garden of their Cotswolds home and asked: ‘What did you get for Christmas David?

‘Some chickens and a cockerel, the footballer replied as his wife continued: ‘Beckham’s chickens’.

Victoria joked: ‘There’s also a really massive cock in there as well’ before she branded their new feathered friends ‘camera shy’.
