A vulnerable Mike Tyson once stopped an interview and told reporter to leave after becoming emotionally overwhelmed

An emotionally vulnerable Mike Tyson once stopped an interview and asked the reporter to leave after opening up about the tragic death of his daughter.

Tyson, widely regarded as one of the best heavyweights of all time, was in Las Vegas in 2009 at the time of the incident involving his four-year-old daughter, Exodus.

According to reports at the time, Exodus had caught her neck in a treadmill cord at her home in Phoenix and was later found unconscious by her then-seven-year-old brother, Miguel Leon Tyson.

Tyson’s daughter was taken to the hospital and had been on life support due to her injury, but Exodus unfortunately passed away a day after the incident.

Opening up on the death of his daughter, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ was emotionally overwhelmed and revealed his mindset at the time of Exodus’ tragic accident.

“This is my best thinking at the time. Get my gun, automatic, just like this and go crazy,” Tyson said.

When asked who he was going to hurt, Tyson continued: “Regardless, that’s just my first thought. But when I went to the hospital, the people that were there… they’re up there because their kids are dead, too. Or about to die.

“So, who the hell am I thinking about dying, too? I don’t know. Something happened that day. I don’t know what happened that day.”

When he was asked if a “new Mike Tyson” came after that day, an emotional Tyson opened up about using cocaine “for a week” and how he “couldn’t handle it at all.”

Boxing legend Tyson, 56, then proceeded to end the interview after his heartfelt admission and asked the reporter to leave.

“Can we appreciate the fact that the interviewer apologised for bringing it up and told Mike that it’s OK to cry,” one fan said.

Another boxing fan added: “I feel bad for Mike. He’s been through a lot and he’s come a long way.”

While another wrote: “Mike has my respect in every way imaginable. He is always real and true and you can tell he is a very caring person who feels emotions immensely. I can’t help but cry every time I see this.”

One fan commented: “This made me cry, wow, you can feel the power of emotion in his voice. I hope he truly eventually finds peace about this.”

And somebody else posted: “Man, to see the champ like this hurts. Shows how human he truly is.”
