It seems like only yesterday that Prince George made his debut in front of the doors of St. Mary’s Hospital. But, in fact, that was exactly 11 years ago today.

Yes, the second in line for the throne is a tween now, and his parents marked the milestone with an annual birthday portrait, as is the tradition for all of William and Catherine’s children. From a rambunctious toddler to a sensible big brother setting a well-behaved example for Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, the eldest of the Wales brood has been through quite an evolution.

Prince George is expected to one day become king, and his parents have started to give their son a taste of what life in the spotlight entails. They have a very close bond with King Charles, and we have been treated to glimpses of their special relationship during their rare public appearances together. According to reports, however, a bit of an argument erupted within the royal family earlier this year.

9It has been claimed that the couple became increasingly worried about their son and whether George should play a more formal role at historical events. It’s almost an echo of the way his father and uncle were sometimes made to attend formal occasions that they perhaps shouldn’t have been made to attend.

So, I’ve heard there’s a debate going on quite fiercely at the moment about how to handle this, and as far as I’ve heard, it’s yet to be decided. The eldest son will soon have to follow a very strict royal rule when it comes to traveling, just like his father did in 1994. According to the rule, it is against royal protocol for two heirs to the throne to travel together. Since William is heir to the throne and George is next in line, the rule will likely take effect when the young prince turns 12 next year.

As these rules loom over young George’s future, Catherine’s emotions are understandably stirred. The upcoming changes serve as a stark reminder of the unique and often challenging path the royal family must navigate, balancing personal sacrifices with their duty to the crown. This week sees Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ school, Lambrook, break up for summer. The 10-year-old is known as a huge tennis fan, and if the family decamps to their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, the future king will have plenty of chances to play.

In a notable decision affecting Prince George’s education, it has been confirmed that the young royal will not be changing secondary schools this year. Unlike most children his age who would be preparing to start secondary school in September, the future king’s journey is somewhat unique. Instead, he will continue his studies at Lambrook, the prestigious preparatory school he has been attending, where his schedule will now include Saturday classes.

The decision comes as part of a broader educational strategy devised by his parents, Prince William and Catherine, who are keen to ensure that Prince George receives a well-rounded and rigorous education. The Prince and Princess of Wales have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of education and the supportive environment at Lambrook, which they believe is providing a strong foundation for their eldest son. The choice to keep Prince George at the same school for another year underscores the royal couple’s desire to maintain a sense of normalcy and continuity in their children’s lives.

Transitioning to a secondary school is a significant step, and by delaying this move, they are allowing George more time to grow and mature in a familiar setting. This decision also highlights the balance that the royal family strives to maintain between their public roles and their private lives. While Prince George is undoubtedly aware of his future responsibilities, his parents are keen to ensure that he enjoys a childhood that, as much as possible, mirrors that of his peers.

The recent celebration of Prince George’s 11th birthday was a joyous occasion filled with family fun and heartfelt moments. Since his birth, Prince George has captured the hearts of people worldwide with his charming personality and endearing public appearances. From his first steps to his recent engagements, each milestone has been celebrated with widespread affection and interest. This birthday photo not only celebrates George’s 11 years but also the loving environment in which he’s being raised.
