Is Gwyneth Paltrow taking sides in Royal Family feud? Her message to Kate Middleton makes it all clear
The Princess of Wales reappeared in Trooping the Colour in the midst of her cancer treatment.
Gwyneth Paltrow (L) sent an emotional message to Princess Kate.
In a surprising turn of events, Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow has seemingly chosen sides in the ongoing Royal Family feud by publicly showing her support for Kate Middleton. This unexpected move comes amidst mounting tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family.
During the recent Trooping the Colour ceremony, millions watched as the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, made her triumphant return to the public eye. Among the many comments and reactions to her appearance, Gwyneth Paltrow’s stood out. The Iron Man actress commented on an official Instagram photo of Kate, saying, “So happy to see you looking so happy and well.”
This gesture from Paltrow, known for her Goop brand, has sparked speculation that she is taking sides in the royal family rift. Royal author Phil Dampier noted, “Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity who seems to be taking sides in the Wales v Sussex standoff.”
Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, is said to have based her new lifestyle project American Riviera Orchard on the actress’s own products “and she admires her greatly so this will hurt,” said Dampier. “Gwyneth didn’t have to make any comment about Kate being at Trooping the Colour but the fact she has means she fully supports her,” the author speculated.
Paltrow has distanced herself from the Sussexes
Previously, Paltrow was seen getting close to Meghan and Harry, having been spotted with them at a Michelin-star sushi restaurant in Montecito in May 2023. However, according to Closer Magazine, this relationship has since cooled off, with Meghan being notably excluded from an intimate Goop dinner held at Paltrow’s Montecito home last month.
This shift aligns Paltrow with other celebrities who have distanced themselves from the Sussexes, including David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, and Katy Perry.
Dampier added, “They have realized that William and Kate are the true superstars and future of the monarchy. Yes, the royals have their ups and downs, but they survive by adapting and because the public respects the institution, although not always the individuals.”
Kate has continued working from home
Middleton’s appearance at the Trooping the Colour ceremony was particularly significant as it was her first public engagement since Christmas, amid her ongoing preventative cancer treatment. She appeared radiant as she rode in a carriage with her three children and stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony with Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla.
Despite her health struggles, Kate has continued to work from home and plans to attend more public engagements over the summer. Kensington Palace has confirmed that she will hold meetings with palace staff and members of the Royal Foundation and Centre for Early Childhood, which will be documented in the Court Circular.
As the royal family drama continues to unfold, Paltrow’s public support for Kate Middleton adds another layer to the complex relationships and alliances within the world of British royalty.
